Have a *Merry* Christmas!

If I had a tree made up of Heinekens, I'd definitely be having a *Merry* Christmas!  But alas, I don't have a Heinie tree.  I don't have much holiday cheer this year.  My life kinda sucks and I feel like I don't even exist.  I won't be receiving any gifts this year, not because I was particularly awful, but because there's no one to give me anything.

Now, what a horrible post this is!  I start off wishing you a Merry Christmas then I immediately get depressing and mopey.  Ah, well, such is life.

There was an interesting program on a while ago about Christmas markets in Germany.  It was pretty cool.  We don't have anything like that over here.  There was this one village that they said Disney modeled the Pinocchio village on.  It was too cute.  And then there were all the stands selling Christmas mulled wine.  That's a sure way to have a good time...getting more and more sloshed as you go!  I'm not really one for getting full-on blitzed but I don't mind getting just a wee bit tipsy.  Then I get silly and giggly and limp and...

Dammit!  Always some old woman to come along and interrupt me while I'm trying to write something here.  Now I've lost my train of thought.  I had to go bung the ham in the oven and be micromanaged while I did it.  Like throwing a ham in the oven is...

Bloody hell!  Freakin' old people!  Again!  I'm just gonna hafta come back to this in a while...

Screw it!  This is impossible while the old woman is wandering around.  Merry Christmas and see ya later!

Wow, christmas is going to be a lot of fun at your house, I can tell :P

I won't be receiving any gifts this year

What gifts would you ask of Santa? What's on that list?

Did you get any greeting cards BTW? We got lots of 'm.

Oh, and merry chistmas.

christmas is going to be a lot of fun at your house At least I got the food cooked last night so that is out of the way. The ham was very yummy, BTW. I made green beans, spruitjes, a couple zoete aardappelen bakken in de microwave, and a small butternut squash.

What gifts would you ask of Santa? A job that I would know how to do(that pays decent money), and a new watch. My Sector that I'd had for over 16 years finally died a couple months ago. I've been wearing an even older wind up one(shows how old it is)that I've had since I was a little kid.

Did you get any greeting cards BTW? Just a few. Kinda sad, really. It shows who your real friends are, especially if they send you one before you've sent one to them. I got one from a friend in Vancouver, one from my friend in Texas, and then one friend FB messaged everyone and said that they weren't sending their card this year because they were going to wait until their baby is born and then send one of the ever-expanding family. It seems those family picture cards are getting popular. My friend from Vancouver sent one of them of her and the hubby and baby.

Soooo, are you playing cards with the family? I hope it's not strip poker! That would be...awkward. ;P

And a very Merry Christmas to you, dear Arekino!

Sounds delicious. We just had brown beans :)

a new watch.

Anything fancy? I just buy cheap digital watches myself.

are you playing cards with the family?

Not this evening, I expect. But tomorrow and the day after I probably will be playing cards with my family or perhaps we'll be "sjoelen", which is a game where you slide circular disks into slots on a 2,5 meter long board.

Do you play any games during Xmas or are you just going to drink some heineken and watch TV together?

Anything fancy? I can't afford anything fancy. The Sector I bought when I first started working just after high school. I had lots of money to spend so I got that fancy European watch. Swiss movement chronometer, all stainless steel and quite hefty. I can't say I didn't get my money's worth. I was looking at an inexpensive stainless steel Timex one that was in Walmart. I think it was around $40. I could probably get my dad to buy me one but he's such a cheapskate, and then I'd have to talk to him. I think I'll just stick with my little wind-up one. Of course if it was Santa bringing it, I'd ask for another Sector or maybe a Technomarine. I have knda expensive tastes! LOL

sjoelen That looks similar to shuffleboard. Are you going to a bar to play that or does your family have one?

Do you play any games during Xmas or are you just going to drink some heineken and watch TV together? Nah, I can't ever remember playing any games for the holidays. My parents are big sticks in the mud boring types.

I'll likely be eating some Dutch apple pie(that I just put in the oven) and drinking some eggnog. I just might spike mine with some Meyer's rum. Then the ham and other side dishes. I'm going to have to do some extra workouts or I'll risk getting a big, fat ass! ;P

We have a "sjoelbak" ourselves. Going to a cafe is a big no-no for my parents. My sister goes to those all the time with her husband or alone, or even with the kids sometimes. I've been in one, didn't like it much.

some Dutch apple pie

My dad's baking an apple pie as well. We don't have eggnog (or even advocaat) but my parents bought a big bottle of red port. And I'll be sippin' on some chocolate milk most likely :)

For dinner there will be pumpkin soup and buns, all homemade. Probably no desert.

I'm going to have to do some extra workouts or I'll risk getting a big, fat ass! ;P

I really should take that brisk walk today...

Going to a cafe is a big no-no for my parents. Your parents sound as boring as my parents. Mine would never go anywhere to have fun either. (Not that I care much for going to bars.)

I saw a video of some old peeps at a retirement home playing with a sjoelbak. Don't mess with those old peeps! LOL

And I'll be sippin' on some chocolate milk most likely :) So you're being a good boy this year--no getting blitzed and stripping off for some nekkid snow angels out in the street? ;P

pumpkin soup and buns Sounds yummy! Are the buns home-made as well?

Have fun eating!

I can't do that this year. There's no snow :(

Are the buns home-made as well?

I thought they would be but they were not.

Brisk walk has been taken BTW :)

Do you do the presents thing? Did Santa bring anything?

There's no snow :( No snow here, either. :(

I got my workout done. There was an MMA marathon on and that is always motivating. I did a good arm and shoulder workout.

I did a bit of weeding earlier, too. I went to go sit in the back yard and drink my coffee and noticed that there was some renegade plumosa vine growing all over the back hedge and some sanseveria growing under it. So I went and eradicated those for about an hour and a half.

Do you do the presents thing? Did Santa bring anything? Nope. Just did the eating thing. Lots of seasonal delicacies. ;)
