Body Weight Workouts

I have been following a blog called The Art of Manliness on FB and recently they posted a couple of good articles on body weight workouts which is the sort of workout that I usually do.  Here is one for a Prisoner Workout which is rather fitting since I feel like QoH's prisoner. ;P

Those do look like some good exercises. Not a lot of running, of course. I suppose one could run in circles within a cell. The prison food must be good if that guy can afford to burn that many calories.

Exactly. ;P They had also posted about ex-football hall of famer Herschel Walker's body weight workout routine but he did lots of running and sprinting, too. One can get plenty of cardio without running. There are different ways. :)

The prison food must be good if that guy can afford to burn that many calories.

American prison food is shit and not fit for a dog. Usually the prisoners have relatives or girlfriends (and in many cases multiple girlfriends for max $$$) sending them money for their prison account which they use to buy food items from the prison commissary. That is big business in prisons. Unfortunately most of the food items they sell are junk like honey buns and ramen, usually not anything nutritious. One of the biggest scams going in prisons is with islam. If you "convert" then you get special halal meals that are usually much better than the regular slop that's served. That's why so many prisoners "convert" to islam in prison. It's for the perks and special treatment.

Anyway, just a vent here, but I *really* hate the name "burpees". I don't know who the fuck came up with that stupid name. When I was a kid they were called squat thrusts. Of course, they try to say that they're different because of the leap into the air at the end, but that's stupid because there are different variations to squat thrusts and each don't have some new stupid name. >:( /end rant

She wormed her way into your mind. That's where the real prison is. :)

Last night I watched the new first episode of the 2nd season of Leah Rimini: Scientology. She made a statement that "mind control is real and a powerful thing" which totally resonated with me. The whole episode I was taking mental notes on how similar the Scientology mind control was to QoH's control techniques when she was "raising" me.

Also one of the guests said that L Ron Hubbard was likely a genius but also a malignant narcissist. Hmmm, something sound familiar? It's scary that they all seem to work from the same playbook. The difference is LRH codified his control techniques into all the regulations for Scientology. (And the fact that he was educated and likely had a high IQ unlike QoH who didn't even finish the 8th grade and seems to have some sort of learning disability like dyslexia.) Mind control and conditioning are definitely powerful things. :/

Anyway, she was shitty again with me today. Eventually I'm going to reach my saturation point with her bullshit and I'm going to stop caring if something bad happens to her if I'm not here and I will move the hell out of here. And her calling me up and fake crying and begging me to come back will not work like the last time. And if she thinks she can stalk me into submission I will get a fucking restraining order against her and have her ass arrested and hopefully she'll get a psych evaluation which is something that should have happened over 40 years ago. >:(

It's not the playbook that's the same, it's the humanness of their victims. We're all basically the same model Human 1.0. (Or maybe Human 2.0 or 3.0 depending on how you look at our ancestors)
So what works on one person may very well work on any other.

seems to have some sort of learning disability like dyslexia.

Dyslexia means you see certain letters wrong when you're trying to read a text. Having such an issue could have significantly lowered her self-confidence, contributing to her developing a personality disorder.

BTW I had some blood taken today to test for coeliaki. Apparently there's strong correlation between diabetes and coeliaki. I'll get the results in a week or so.

it's the humanness of their victims.

And the humanness of the perpetrators. I was thinking about that the other night. As humans we all seem to have a basic kind of behavior pre-programmed into us with a few different variations. PD's seem to be one variety. They all behave in basically the same ways.

Dyslexia means you see certain letters wrong when you're trying to read a text.

There are actually several different types of dyslexia. I got curious because QoH often complains about "the letters on the page moving around". I looked that up and it falls under a type of dyslexia. There's also another component where they can't understand certain concepts in a classroom setting and require individual specialized treatment. As you can imagine, the diagnosis or therapies weren't around in the 40's and 50's when QoH was in school, and teachers were much harsher back then and just labeled kids as "stupid" or difficult. QoH definitely had much shame around her difficulties in school. She has brought it up numerous times to me, but never actually admitting she felt shame in those exact words. It's easy to see how this contributed to the narcissistic false self that she developed as a type of mental armor. That and the shame she felt growing up dirt poor with extreme lack and deprivation due to an alcoholic father who passed away money on alcohol and an absent neglectful mother who whored around, gambled, and disappeared for weeks at a time leaving 2 small children in the care of a drunk.

BTW I had some blood taken today to test for coeliaki.

Celiac disease is not good. Have you been having issues with eating wheat and gluten? I hope you don't have that and everything checks out okay. :)

Anyhoo, because I got to see the first 2 episodes of GoT and this is the penultimate season, I couldn't stand not being able to see it on TV. Luckily there have been many hacks and things were leaked. Also peeps on YouTube put up enough clips that you can basically see every episode in bits and pieces. Episode 4 was freaking awesome! It's too bad you aren't caught up yet. ;P

I don't really know. I don't think so? I guess if it turns out I have Coeliac disease I'll have to change to a gluten free diet. Not sure how I feel about that.

It's too bad you aren't caught up yet.

This is true for me in many ways in life. :)

I don't think I'd like it. I like bread and pasta and rice. Giving those things up would suck. :/

This is true for me in many ways in life. :)

That's too bad, although I feel the same sometimes, like my life has been put on pause for 23 years. :/

We got some rain earlier today so QoH decided she wasn't going grocery shopping because it's "too dangerous". Everything to her is too dangerous any more. :/ I didn't feel like going so it worked out well for me. :) Also the rain cooled things down so the AC hasn't been running continually all day like the past few days. I prefer the rain. It's too damn hot here when it's sunny. My friend from work who moved to Minnesota said that they had temperatures in the 60's already. I wish some of that would come down here. ;P

What, the rain? Is the water too wet for her? ;P

My sister will be going to the north of France on wednesday. The oldest son will stay at home though. Partly to take care of their new doggie and partly because I suspect he doesn't enjoy taking vacations with his parents so much anymore. Maybe there are other reasons as well. I don't know if he has a girlfriend at the moment but I suppose he may get a lot of private time alone with one this way.

Hey, a question, some characters in movies and TV shows ahve been played by more than one actor. Do you have a favorite actor for a character that you like?

Because people drive shitty on a sunny day and *really* get crazy and drive like shit when it's raining (including her).

partly because I suspect he doesn't enjoy taking vacations with his parents so much anymore.

I hate being anywhere with my parental units. The last time I went on "vacation" with them was when I was 16 and it totally sucked.

I suppose he may get a lot of private time alone with one this way.

That's what I was thinking. ;P

I liked Lecy Goranson as Becky on Rosanne. When she left and Sarah Chalke replaced her it wasn't the same. I also liked the actor who originally played Daario on GoT. He's the same guy who played the villain Francis in Deadpool. New Daario is played by a Dutch actor. I guess he's okay. Doesn't have a sexy ass, though. I wasn't impressed during that sex scene with Dany. ;P I still think Jason Momoa as Khal Drogo was nom, nom, nom. ;D ;P

I remember the episode when that happened. They made a joke about replacing her the end of that episode. She later came back for a couple of episodes, I think.

Apparently he had a body double for some scenes.

He definitely looked healthy and fit. He looks good in the Justice League movie trailer as well.

Disney World.

It always sucked being anywhere with the two of them together. They were always fighting and arguing about the stupidest things. Now that I'm stuck with QoH I can see that the problem was almost 100% her. Once you become her scapegoat like my dad was, she actively searches for things to nitpick and fault find over. And when you react negatively to her constant and unyielding barrage (which IMO is an appropriate reaction) then she twists things to make you out to be the problem, the bad guy, or have "mental problems". It really sucked to be a kid without any allies like another sibling close in age to experience it with. I was stuck alone between two parents who were constantly at each other's throats.

Apparently he had a body double for some scenes.

They should make more of an effort to find body doubles with cute butts. Women don't want to look at saggy flat butts. ;P

He definitely looked healthy and fit.

Yep. :)

Well, QoH is at it again today with her usual verbal abuse. It's so exhausting to deal with. :/

You know, it's strange that butt bra's or butt lifters for men have never been very popular. Not as far as I can tell anyway.

Are there no mental exercises that can help with that? Something that helps you to look at what she says from a distance? Make it less exhausting?

Maybe you could design one, hype it, and make some moolah. ;P

I hope you are not in need of one of those yourself. ;P

The perennial advice at the PD forum is to not JADE (Justify, Argue, Defend, Explain) and to try to emotionally detach and try to view yourself as a scientist studying this strange creature called a PD. That the things they say aren't true, they're just a skewed version of reality, but none of that really makes it easier. No matter what you do, it doesn't change the PD person or their behavior. It's all very depressing.

Well, I've been watching some YouTubes lately. Lots of GoT clips and music videos. I really like Gary Numan's newer stuff. I found out he had Asperger's. And there were a couple live versions of Down In The Park and Cars that he did with Nine Inch Nails. Good stuff. :)

Well, no. It's not supposed to change the PD person. It's supposed to help the non-PD person cope with living with PD person. Right?

It's all very depressin g.

Are you depressed, you think? You don't sound depressed.

I've been watching some YouTubes lately.

Yeah, me too. Mostly movies. I just finished watching Guardians Of The Galaxy Volume 2. Spiderman:Homecoming was also available but I didn't find it very engaging. The quoality was pretty good for a camrip though. It's a little weird seeing people walk in front of the projection screen.

LOL At least with YouTube I don't have to pay for HBO. ;D

Well tonight I will be watching the Leah Rimini:Scientology program. There isn't much on until the fall season starts. At least Leah is very engaging on the show. I practically marinate in it. The fake news really is appropriately named. It's to the point where the bias and propaganda is so bad that it's unwatchable. Even cable news stations that claim to be fair have a creeping bias.

All the "protests" are nothing but astroturf. Paid "protesters" on the Soros payroll to make it seem like there's a majority in this country that are all pissed off over various issues and the leftist media gladly runs with that narrative.

Oh hell no. But QoH is so I never get away from it. :/

One of them got killed, right?

Yeah. The fake news has been trying to make it out to be a white supremacist going on an ISIS-style rampage with a car. From the videos I saw of the incident, it looked more like he ran through the mob because they were blocking the road and beating on vehicles with baseball bats. (in Miami the police tell you to do that if a mob tries to stop your car) To me it could either be 1) a spur of the moment road rage type thing, or 2) he could have been afraid for his life because of the mob. I don't think it was a premeditated attack.

Anyway, IMO the whole incident was a setup by the Democrat mayor and governor. The original protesters had a permit and we're supposed to be protesting the removal of the Robert E. Lee statue. They had a march the night before that was peaceful. The next day the organizer of the "Unite the Right" group, who just happened to be an Occupy Wall Street organizer and a leftist, brings all these neo-Nazi and KKK people there. Then Antifa, BLM, and assorted leftists showed up. The police made the Nazi/KKK group move into the area where the leftist groups were and then stood back while both sides had at it.

Later it came out that the mayor had said that he wanted his town to be the epicenter of "the resistance" and make a name for the town. Looks like a setup to me. Then when Trump came out and denounced both sides equally, the media threw a fit because they only wanted him to denounce the Nazis and KKK. What's really stupid is the way they've been labeling it a racist incident like it was a bunch of white people attacking black people. From what I saw, it was 99% white people attacking each other, rather badly I might add. Too bad all of them didn't kill each other, bunch of idiots.

And which particular narrative is the rightist media running with?

For rightist media you have to go to the Internet. They're basically saying what I just said. You had two groups of idiots who do not represent the majority and are such a minority that they are insignificant. The MSM is blowing the incident out of proportion and trying to tie it to Trump.

Forgot to mention that the idiots pulling down and vandalizing statues that they think are Confederate ones are so fucking stupid that they don't even realize which statues they are destroying. So far they pulled down and destroyed one dedicated to the memory of children conscripted to fight in the civil war, and a unity statue. And some moron destroyed a statue of Lincoln as well as some other moron spraying red paint on the big Lincoln Memorial in DC. >:(

Also dumbass Gov. McAuliff claimed that the "white nationalists" were all carrying guns and were better armed and equipped than the police. It was proven to be a total lie. If that was the case, why was no one shot during the melee? And why didn't the police do anything to stop them? It's highly irresponsible for a governor to lie about something like that to stoke up people's emotions.

Really? I see the bias on the TV every day. For example, I watched Trump's press conference live. Afterward, the local channels were reporting that Trump refused to denounce the KKK and Nazis. I watched him with my own eyes and heard with my own ears. He denounced the Nazis/KKK *and* the leftists/Antifa/BLM. Seems they only want him to denounce one side and not the other. Why get worked up? Both sides were to blame.

Crazy bitch QoH physically assaulted me again a few minutes ago. She started again with her paranoid crap about the neighbor "spraying her truck and plants with Roundup" and wanted me to "see the drip marks". What she's actually seeing is where the rain and mold from the bamboo plant falls on that side of the truck and the sun dries the streaks on there. So she keeps telling me to stand where she's standing because somehow she can see through my eyes to know what I can or can't see. She won't move out of the way so I can stand where she's standing so I leaned against her as a joke. She totally flipped the fuck out and grabbed a handful of the skin on my back and started squeezing and pinching it as hard as she could and started kneeing me between my legs (which was mainly hitting me in the ass) so I elbowed her in the chest to get her to let go. That really enraged her and she started threatening to call the cops (idle threat as she hates the cops) and saying she's going to "make me pay 100%". More idle threats. If I had a dollar for every time she threatened to "make me pay".

To blame for what exactly? For the guy driving his car into those protesters? That can't be right. I doubt anybody held a gun to James Fields's head and forced him to drive that car into those people. It's his own personal resposibility to know that doing such a thing is wrong. Which is why he is the one going to prison, I hope.

so I leaned against her as a joke.

Why would you joke with her? :O

That's like sticking your head into a lion's mouth. You know it's gonna bite. :)

There's no visible damage on the surface. Immediately after she did it I looked at it in the mirror to see if there was a mark because I wanted a pic to document it. No marks. It felt like achy muscles. It doesn't hurt today.

What does that mean exactly?

It means that I will have to travel on I-95 in morning traffic to go to downtown Miami to the Federal building. It's the worst highway at the worst time of day. You have to be there at 8am. For 2 weeks. You get to go home at the end of the day, so you get to drive in quitting-time traffic as well.

I've never been summoned for Federal jury duty before. I've heard horror stories that if you get picked to serve on a jury that it could last months. It's like being in jail almost if you get sequestered. And not only is it a nightmare to drive down there, but it costs you money to pay for parking.

Hopefully I can use the same excuse to get out of it that I used for regular jury duty (where you only have to go for one day). The worst part is the waiting to find out if you are excused or not. Now I get to be stressed out over this bullshit for over 2 months. The last time they didn't bother to notify me that I was excused and I had to call down there and find someone who could look up the info for me. I really hate having to talk to people over the phone.

At least for this bullshit you can fill out the paperwork online. Hopefully they respond online as well.

Wherever you work isn't allowed to fire you, that would be illegal, but you are also losing pay by not working. For regular jury duty if you worked full time and your place of work was in the same county, then your employer had to pay you. But if you work outside the county or only part time, then you are screwed since they don't have to pay.

Federal jury duty pays a whopping $40 per day. I make 3/4 of that in an hour of my regular pay. It works out to $5/hour which is less than the Federal minimum wage of $7.25/hour. :/

So it would be like living at home but with potentially nicer fellow inmates? ;P

I'd rather be at home. I did jury duty before when I had bad social anxiety and it was a horrible experience. You're stuck in a big room with a bunch of noisy strangers and then when you get picked for a jury selection you have to go to a courtroom and be questioned by a judge and lawyers. It probably wouldn't be as bad for me now that I don't have bad anxiety, but it's totally inconvenient for me and something I don't want to do. :/

Anyway, I did the questionnaire thingy online last night and requested an excusal. Now I wait for a reply. :/

Anyway, the eclipse thingy is going down here ATM. We're at about 40% coverage in Miami. I'm going to go out at 100% (or technically 95% or whatever we're getting here) to look at the "darkness". ;P

Yes. Or longer. The last time I did regular jury duty, I got called to a jury selection towards the end of the day and they took forever to select the jury, so I was there well past 5pm, I think it was closer to 6pm or after. They didn't pay extra.

How is it inconvenient?

I am not a morning person. I would have to get up around 6am to get dressed and try to get ahead of the traffic. I-95 is dangerous to drive on. Downtown Miami is dangerous to be in with all the homeless crackheads, tweakers, and schizophrenics wandering around and aggressively panhandling. I'm not a people person and government stuff makes me uncomfortable. :/

I heard about that. How was it?

I mostly watched it on TV as I didn't have the special glasses to view it. A big cloud came and obscured it right at the point of maximum eclipse where I'm at. :/

It didn't get dark here, but the difference in light quality was a little noticeable. The thing I noticed afterwards was a difference in temperature. It was definitely cooler afterward. :)

Why?

Because people in positions of authority tend to abuse their powers. It's scary that the government can compel you to do something that you do not want to do or else they'll fine you, put you in jail, or make you do community service(or all of those). Last time I checked the 13th Amendment of the Constitution said that citizens cannot be subjected to involuntary servitude except under penalty of having broken a law. Making people show up to serve jury duty under threat of penalty is in violation of the Constitution IMO. ;)

If I'm not excused I might just get ornery enough to say something like that during jury selection. ;P

Well, had another fight with QoH yesterday. All verbal, nothing physical, but it was so bad that I felt like I was having an out of body experience afterward. So many emotions swirling around at once with no means of relief. I got desperate enough to try to connect with a crisis chat line. Of course, with my luck, there was no one available to chat with me. :/

So I did the next best thing and wrote a post on the PD forum. Only got 4 responses so far. One was kinda sarcastic and unhelpful, the other 3 were supportive. Not really any advice that I don't already know, but one did say that they think QoH is displaying behaviors that are beyond the usual PD crap and into the area of psychosis. She does seem to have psychotic episodes where she is completely unhinged and illogical.

Unfortunately for me she quit going to her doctor about 5 years ago, so it's not like I could speak to him on the sly and voice my concerns. :/

How are people going to abuse their powers there?

Some of the lawyers are dicks and do passive aggressive stuff during juror questioning.

If there's a judge present she or he may charge you with contempt of court if you do that. :)

The last time I got ornery with a dickish lawyer, the lady judge presiding was amused and smirking and cautioned the lawyer. ;P

In what way?

Accusing me of stuff that's untrue and DARVOing and projecting things she's done onto me. Being irrational.

You could phone him, could you not? Doctors have long memories, I'm sure he remembers her.

She hasn't been to the doctor in 5 years, and just before she stopped going she got a letter saying that her primary care physician was no longer going to be seeing patients as he was being promoted to an administrative position. He might remember her, but everything would have to be referred to a new primary care physician and QoH would have to approve of that first. Unfortunately the way the privacy laws are, you can't discuss much without the patient's approval, and QoH would flip the fuck out if she found out I contacted a doctor to discuss her mental state. And legally she can't be made to do anything. :/

That doesn't sound that bad. At least it's not agrressive agressive behavior like QoH's antics.

The last time I got ornery with a dickish lawyer

I'm sure that's fairly okay as long as you don't get ornery with a judge.

What if you contacted a doctor to discuss your own mental state? I mean, you're suffering, right? Her abuse is affecting you mentally? You could say it's stress related.

I can't contact a doctor to discuss myself. I don't have insurance or money to pay for one. That's why I'm on the PD forum. At least I can get some moral support and it's free.

Anyhoo, we've had a couple tropical wave thingies stall over the state for the past week so we've been getting intermittent heavy rain. Not good for the roof. So last night just before I was about to go to bed, QoH barges in and claims that 'water was pouring out of the ceiling like a waterfall' and she had to put a bucket underneath to catch it. Well, that was quite alarming to hear, so I jumped up to go downstairs to see it. When I got down there, there was no sign of water anywhere, other than the stain on the ceiling that's been there for several years. There was a small area that looked like it could have a small drip above it, but it's just soaking into the plaster. There was no "waterfall" at all.

This is the kind of exaggerating that QoH does that really pisses me off. It's obvious that what she said is bs, but she insists that it's 100% true. It's like when little kids see something and then hugely exaggerate and insist it is the way they say. Except it's not cute when a grown woman has been doing it her whole life. Looking back on a lot of things QoH has claimed over the years, I have to question the truthfulness of much of it. :/

She has Medicare since she's over 65.

Maybe not. It's illegal to not get treatment in an emergency situation. Since I'm unemplyed, if that happened, it's possible that I could be put on Medicaid which is what is available for poor people. I fall through the welfare cracks ATM since I'm a single white female. :/

Anyhoo, not much going on ATM (like usual ;) ). That big hurricane that hit Texas was allegedly a Cat 4 but didn't seem to do any widespread catastrophic damage like the weather people seemed to be hoping for and it didn't look like it was raining as much as they predicted. Which is good for the people affected. :)

I can't believe that's the only reason. Then again, members of the master race are supposed to be able to take care of themselves. ;P

It's technically not insurance. The emergency room is required by law to treat people. Afterward, they will bill you for services and then you will have to find some way to pay.

So why not check out that possiblity?

The way the law is written, I'm not eligible being a healthy SWF with no kids. If I suddenly became pregnant, or a drug addict, or homeless, or incapacitated in some way, *then* I might be eligible for something.

members of the master race are supposed to be able to take care of themselves. ;P

We're expected to pay for everyone else. :/

It's "only" a tropical storm now apparently. :)

Unfortunately they're now starting to get the flooding from all the rain. It's not nearly the amount that the weather people were hyping. They were claiming something like 60 inches of rainfall, but I think they've only gotten like 12 inches so far. It's still enough to fuck up areas that were built in flood plains.

We continue to get rain here from all the weird tropical wave thingies that seem to have stalled over Florida. :/

It's not unusual to get tropical moisture coming out of the Caribbean, but to get consecutive waves is a little unusual and very annoying.

Well, QoH wanted to get up "early" today to go to the post office and run some errands. It's now 2:30pm and she just emerged from her room about 15 minutes ago, came into my bedroom, and immediately got shitty with me because I didn't respond to a question in the manner that she was looking for. I just cannot win with her. She, of course called me her 2 favorite "D" words and I responded by flipping her the bird. I'm kinda done trying to be civil. :/

So did you end up going?

We went to the post office and then came home. I thought she reconsidered on the grocery shopping so I got undressed and was watching some TV. Then about an hour or so later she decided she wanted to go. So I had to get dressed again and get the cooler and freezer packs prepped to go and all the crap that QoH has to take to go anywhere and put it all in the truck. When she finally dislodged herself from the house, we ended up sitting in the truck for an additional 15 minutes because a neighbor a few houses down was out mowing his grass and we couldn't leave because "if he sees us leave, he'll come and steal stuff while we're gone". So exhausting dealing with paranoid bs.

Then there was a Coldplay concert at the stadium by our house and we got caught in traffic and had to turn back and go a different route. It took almost an hour from the time we left the house until we actually got to the first store. And then all while there was a torrential downpour that was blowing in sideways. >:(

I assume one of them is "dike". What's the other one?

Demon. I guess she doesn't realize I'm actually a dragon. ;P

Are you getting a new one because the old one is leaky or something? Or just because it's old? Are your parents paying for it?

Because it's old. We rent this house (well technically my parents rent it and I just help pay that rent). The actual owner of the house (a housing cooperative) pays for the renovations although maybe the rent will go up in the near future. Would not surprise me one bit.

There's nothing much going on here. My sister has returned from her vacation in France. My mother is complaining that she had not received a postcard. All my nephews have gone to a new school or moved on to anothe scchoolyear. Should keep them busy. Haven't heard much from my sister but then that's not unsual.

Has your sis been to places outside of Europe?

Do you know if eastern Europe is still a "bargain" to travel to or have the prices gone up due to popularity?

Well, the asshole nabes screwed me out of the mowing gig. Herself called and left a message on my phone asking if I could do it, then they had a crew of men out right after she left the message to trim the oak tree in their back yard. I could hardly do it while there was a truck with a flatbed trailer, a bucket truck, and a third vehicle parked in their yard and men working and piling cuttings on the front lawn. And they didn't finish until after 5pm. Then QoH wanted to go to the fucking store again and we didn't get home until past 8:30pm when it was already dark. So some guy was over there early this morning and mowed it. I'm really pissed off because I need the money, and they're so fucking impatient. When the want something, they want it RIGHT NOW! They don't give a shit if weather is permitting or that you might have other plans. Just as well. I injured my back lifting cases of water and they let the grass get ridiculously high again and it's hard to push the mower through that. And I imagine the backyard was full of fallen twigs and debris. It just pisses me off to lose out on the money. I wish I had a more reliable customer/s. :/

Not ATM but if I had something more steady I'd like to save up to GTF outta here.

And my own equipment. QoH seems to think that everything that exists in the house belongs exclusively to her. She has been bitching about "using *her* gasoline" and "wear and tear on *her* equipment" ever since I started doing the mowing for them. Um, that's part of doing business and it's figured into the cost. That's another area where QoH got herself into trouble with clients. She thinks that hourly wage is supposed to be separate from other costs to the point of ridiculousness. She started wanting to charge for gas to get there and travel time. Who takes that attitude other than a PD? It's like expecting your employer to pay you separately for travel to and from work, or to pay for the clothes that you wear to work. People don't want to feel nickel-and-dimed to death over costs.

Well, another day another assault. QoH follows me to my room accusing me of spraying her plants with Roundup. I got tired of her bullshit and told her to get out of my room. She of course refused and blocked my exit as usual. I stood face to face with her for a good 5 minutes telling her to get out while she refused and did her usual name-calling routine. So I got tired of it and said, fine I'll leave then. I picked up my keys from the end of the bed. She immediately assumes I'm going to take the car (even though my keys don't have the car key attached and the car is in the carport with her truck parked in front of it blocking it in). So she grabs my wallet and tries to get away with it. I grab ahold of the wallet and try to wrench it away from her. She grabs ahold of one of my fingers trying to bend it backwards and break it. I manage to get the wallet away and she goes with her go-to move of grabbing me around the throat with both hands. I spin around to break her hold turning my back to her and she starts pushing me in my back onto my bed and shouting at me to stop pushing her. Bitch is fucking insane. I finally managed to escape my room and when she exited I ran back in and slammed the door and locked it.

I have no place to go and no one to help me. I have no idea what I'm going to do. I can't stay locked in here forever. :/

Yes, that's the main thing contributing to my probable mental breakdown. It's a cat 4 which is really dangerous and can destroy the house. I've been through hurricanes before, but there were other people here to help deflect QoH's hysteria. Now everything is on me and I can't handle it all by myself. It would cost less to just throw away some food that goes bad rather than spend $45/day for gas to run the generator. And I don't even know if I could get the damn thing started. It was only used for Hurricane Wilma. It's been sitting in a corner collecting dust ever since.

We have plenty of water (55 gallons drinking water, plus another 50 or so for flushing toilets or whatever if the water pressure fails. I've yet to see that happen, though) and food. We've been making ice, too, don't know how long it'll last. And we have plenty of food.

The gas went up after Hurricane Harvey hit Texas since a major refinery got shut down from that. Luckily, we filled both vehicles before it went up and we have about 25 gallons for the generator.

We have steel hurricane panels up to the windows which we leave most up year-round. I only had to put them up to 2 windows which I did on Tuesday. ;)

Have people started leavng the city?

Peeps in evacuation zones have been leaving since Tuesday. Peeps in the Keys started first, then peeps in the coastal areas around here. Some people are leaving just so they don't have to deal with it. I joked on FB that I wish all the ones leaving never came back. ;P

What will you do if the governor gives instructions to evacuate?

Luckily for us, we live in the highest elevation in S Fla. We won't get that order. I *did* have an offer to go stay with my friends in Minnesota, but QoH refuses to fly and it's too long to drive there. I didn't bother telling QoH. If the shit really hits the fan, I have a few FB friends in Florida who might help out if need be, even though they might be in a similar situation. Anyway, this hurricane was kinda scary. It was a weird one. We were only supposed to get high tropical storm force and some low cat 1 force, but it was blowing really hard and super loud. Terrifying at times. And it lasted over 36 hours which is really long for a hurricane to be around on one place. By contrast, hurricane Andrew was only over land for 4 hours.

I need to buy more ice soon, but none of the stores have any. I called around and stores are either closed because if no powrr they don't have any ice. Also there's no gas at any gas stations around here. Hopefully they'll get the power back up soon so people can get gas and ice.

So is this the worst hurricane you've ever experienced?

Kinda. It certainly lasted the longest and the winds seemed more fierce than the ones that were supposed to have been stronger.

BTW if you still don't have power you probably should keep your celphone use down to a minimum.

The nabes are letting me come over to charge my phone, so I'm okay with that. :)

Hopefully it will stay that way for a long time. BTW it's not the start of hurricane season, is it? That would suck (and blow really hard...).

Yeah, no airconditioning without electricity. So you didn't get the generator to work?

No, it's in the middle of the season which is considered the peak of the season. I think the hurricane hit on exactly the peak day.

So you didn't get the generator to work?

No. I called a guy that we used to work with at the country club. He worked in the maintenance dept so he knows about engines. He *almost* got it started, but he needed mechanic's socket wrenches to take it apart and I only had regular ones that were too short. He said he can come back at the weekend if we can manage to get a set from Walmart. It just needs to be serviced because it has gunk in the carburetor and fuel lines from sitting unused for 12 years.

Anyway, a lot more people were killed down in the keys than initially reported. I think it was 8. And 6 elderly people died at a nursing home in Hollywood Hills because of the lack of A/C. The paramedics found 3 dead and another 3 died at the hospital. They took the rest of the patients out and to the hospital. Now there is a criminal investigation because whoever was in charge was obviously neglectful.

And there was another facility in N Miami that was evacuated today for the same reason. I can tell you from what I experienced last night trying to sleep, the heat was extreme and I woke up in a literal pool of sweat with my sheets soaking wet. It was also very hard to breathe from the stuffiness. :/

Whereas here autumn is setting in and we have temps of around 15 degrees celsius during the day. It's even cooler at night.

Is there any way for you to get cooler without the AC? Do you have a basement? It's usually a few degrees cooler there since it's below ground.

We spent the night at the nabes' house last night since they had their power back, but unfortunately it went out again at 11am today. Now we're all hot again. :/

I tried staying in our basement the other night, it is a bit cooler, but QoH has it so hoarded up that there's no place to lay down. I tried to sleep laying on the top of the deep freeze. It was long enough, but too narrow and I was afraid I was going to fall off, so I went back to my hot bedroom.

I really hope they get this shit fixed soon. It's sooo fucking hot it's torture, and now the food I had in nabes' freezer is going to spoil. :/

I don't know where you get your electricity from but apparently Florida Power & Light Co. says the power should be on for everyone from sunday.

Yes. It was nice of them, but they all seem to be PD in some form or another. The grandma is nice but set in her ways. Her daughter is diagnosed bipolar, and the granddaughter is very weird and talks in "word salad" and parrots back everything people say in conversation. She futzes around worrying about her grandma and follows her mother around like a puppy. Also they spend all day talking on the phone to various family members to the point of obsession. The grandson is kinda aloof. He has a 2 y/o biracial daughter with his black girlfriend and he spends lots of time shuffling between her apartment and his grandma's house. Also their house is a dirty nasty hoarded up mess, what you would call a "dirty hoard" as they leave trash laying around on everything and on the floor. It doesn't look like they ever sweep or mop the floors, the bathroom is so disgusting that I kept going back home to use my own bathroom, and the kitchen was filthy with crap all helter-skelter on the counter tops. And the counters were dirty with crumbs and stains. The sink, too. And in the laundry room they throw dirty clothes on the floor next to their gas water heater (a fire hazard). And the clean clothes are thrown on the sofa in the living room, all crumpled up, and never folded or put away. And they go to bed late, then you can here them constantly talking and getting up and moving about the house and banging things around and slamming doors while others are trying to sleep. After a couple days of it I was about to lose my fucking mind. I'm kinda glad they lost power again so I could get away from them. :/

Florida Power & Light Co. says the power should be on for everyone from sunday.

Yep, that's our shitty electrical utility, and they've been saying that since Sunday to pacify everyone. I'll believe it when I see it.

Anyway, it was sooooo hot again that we got desperate enough to come over to my dad's since he got his power back 2 days ago. He's letting us use his spare fridge/freezer for our stuff. :)

Still at my dad's ATM. We went to Publix a while ago to buy some of their deli fried chicken and cole slaw. I also got a sample bowl of pho from the sample lady. I told her it was the first hot food I had in a week since we're still without power. Anyway, their chicken is really good. :)

We might be spending the night here tonight. I'm glad I brought some laundry over to do so at least I'll have some clean comfortable clothes to change into. :)

Nope. We never lost water, gas, or the land line. We have a gas stove and water heater, but it's too hot for hot water showers. Cold ones feel really nice in this miserable heat.

What do things look like outside ATM? Is it a mess?

We didn't have much mess at my house. I've mostly cleaned up my yard. There were plenty of downed tree branches and some completely uprooted trees all over. Only a few houses with minor roof damage like a few shingles blown off.

And still no power here. Everyone else seems to have it, though. >:(

Okay. So when you said it was the first hot food you had in a week to the sample lady, that wasn't true? If you have a gas stove, you can cook food.

It was true. We've been eating sandwiches and hard boiled eggs all week. I had to use up some ham before it went bad and QoH had made eggs which had to be used. We technically could cook, but there's no electricity to put whatever was cooked into the fridge. Just easier to use up stuff that was already made. BTW, Publix fried chicken is soooo yummy. :)

Maybe you should make a call to electricity company? Just to check.

They have a thing online to check. It's still saying it's due to be back by 11:45pm on 17 September, which is tonight. I saw a crew from Illinois in the area today. Hopefully they fix it, but I'm not optimistic at this point. It seems like being stuck in the dark ages is our new normal. :/

Because QoH isn't one to cook just one portion of something. That and there's a limited number of things she eats. So we've gotten Publix fried chicken 3 times this week. :)

Oh, hey, there's a new storm coming. :O

Yeah, Maria it's called. The forecast shows it going to the east of Florida, so thank God for that. :)

Well, I'm completely exhausted. All three refrigeration units were reeking after being off for 8 days even though I had already thrown away all the bad food or transferred the good stuff out before it rotted, except for the one upstairs which had some nasty cheese in it. I have no idea what made them reek like that, but apparently it's a thing that happens after a long time without power(I looked it up). So I spent most of the morning bailing about 20 gallons of melted ice out of the deep freeze, then thoroughly cleaned it, then did the same with the fridge in the basement. I didn't get around to the upstairs fridge. I only cleaned the vegetable drawers out yesterday when I threw away all the rotten stuff.

Then QoH wanted to go buy groceries. All the stores except Broward Meat and Fish looked like they were hit by the apocalypse with bare shelves, so I didn't buy everything that I wanted. :/

Well, hopefully I'll be sleeping good tonight now that the A/C is back on. :)

We do not need an A/C ATM. Temperatures are going down all on their own. Feels good. :)

They never lost power so they didn't have to throw away all their perishable inventory. And since they only sell groceries, unlike Walmart which sells flashlights and camping supplies, they didn't get hit hard by desperate people. And since most people didn't have electricity, they didn't buy groceries that needed to be refrigerated.

Temperatures are going down all on their own. Feels good. :)

Must be nice. Too bad you can't send some of it here. It's still oppressively hot. The heat has been quite extreme for the past couple of weeks. :/

Anyway, I've been on a cleaning rampage since we got power back. The filth at the nabes' and paternal unit's house has made me very sensitive to clutter and dirty things. After I get the coolers and things cleaned and put away, and all the orchids put back outside, I'm going to tackle the house cleaning. I'm tired of all the accumulated crap that QoH has and it all needs to go.

Hmm, I thought I commented yesterday. Maybe blogger ate it. Wouldn't be the first time. :/

Anyhoo, after the hurricane QoH's phone wasn't working properly. We took it to the T-mobile store and the lady said the speaker got fried because of the heat and humidity and it happened to a lot of people. She said to call customer service and they would replace it. I called today and unfortunately it wasn't under warranty. They wanted $8/month for 24 months to replace it (a cheap flip phone). So I asked if I could just buy a cheap one from Walmart and exchange the SIM card and the lady said yes. So we went to the nearest Walmart, but they didn't have any. Then I went to another T-mobile store where the employee ignored me for 10 minutes so I left. Then went to another cell phone store where the guy tried to sell me one for $60. Not! Came home and ordered one off Walmart's website for $10. Should be delivered in a week. :)

I am still trying to recover from the after-hurricane ordeal. I still feel tired. Just made a bunch of koolsla and I'm cooking some pasta. Salvaged some spinach from the hurricane food and will sauté it with garlic, and I'm cooking the salvaged corned beef that miraculously survived. :)

It was regularly $20 but on sale for half off. I'm assuming it is old inventory that they are trying to get rid of. I'm happy to get such a good deal. :)

Hopefully you're getting some good sleep now.

The one thing that being without power does is resets one's circadian rhythms. I *was* getting up at the crack of dawn. Now I've been going to bed at around 10:30 or 11pm instead of 2 or 3am like before the hurricane and now I'm getting up around 8:30am.

Anyway, I'm watching UFC from Japan right now. A little later LFA will be on and Andrea KGB Lee will be defending her belt for probably the last time before moving up to either Invicta or UFC. I can watch the UFC fights tomorrow when they replay them. There's no way I'd miss KGB, I've been waiting months to see her fight again. :)

She certainly didn't miss her opponent. Pummeled her for a round and a half, then the girl took KGB to the mat to try to escape the beating, but KGB just twisted her arm like a pretzel into a kimura and forced the tap out. :)

Cool. Did she win?

I have no idea. I thought they were showing it tonight, but they only showed the Bellator MMA fights even though the kickboxing happened tonight as well. The Internet says that they're going to air it on October 6. I'll just look up the results tomorrow. Jorina is fighting some Belgian chick I've never heard of. I'm sure Jojo will win. I did a couple of them earlier today, but it's too hot out ATM so I'll try to finish after 5 or 6pm when the sun is starting to go down. I'm still finding parts of the nabe's mango tree stuck in various shrubs. It'll be a while until I get everything thoroughly cleaned up.

Seems to be. You know what else is big in Japan? My friend Christine and her husband. They're both over 6 feet tall and were in Japan a few months ago towering over the locals. ;)

In other news I learned that a former classmate has died. It wasn't someone I liked, though. He was a total dick in school, and frankly I couldn't stand him. I found out on FB. All the other fake-ass people that I also couldn't stand came out acting like they're shocked and saddened. I'm neither, just curious as to what happened. The funeral is on Saturday at a local funeral home but I couldn't find any info on their website. I guess I'm going to have to ask a neutral party. :/

Eh, that sounds a bit boring to me. "Yard Work" could be about people working at Scotland Yard. Or maybe about a real estate agent with a green thumb who just can't bear to sell anything and turns all the real estate into lavish secret gardens.

a former classmate has died

How did he die?

I guess I'm going to have to ask a neutral party.

Do you want to go to the funeral? Or are you wondering if they need a caterer?

BTW, I've ordered a new matras. The two I'm sleeping on ATM are at least 2 decades old. The new matras is for a single person only since I still have my old bed and I'd like to start using that again. I'll probably buy a new duvet as well.

Hell no! I couldn't stand him or his asshole friends. Of course all the usual assholes plan to attend even though they likely haven't seen him since high school.

Or are you wondering if they need a caterer?

Nope. Not if I was the last caterer in Florida. They can all starve.

My dislike isn't unfounded. He and his friends were real assholes. They used to deliberately misbehave in order to bring collective punishment onto the class. Very hateful people. They even got us banned from Everglades National Park because they harassed wildlife. People who harm animals are shit.

the new matras is for a single person only

Isn't that kinda small? I sleep on a double.

I changed my sheets yesterday and washed my comforter and a sheet I had used at the nabe's house. I have no idea what kind of germs and funk it picked up over there so it had to be washed before I could use it again.

Well, I do hope to find a cool looking duvet cover. Or else just a neutral one. I haven't really thought about it yet.

So what is it you want to know about the funeral?

I'm not interested in the funeral, I was just curious as to how he died. He was my age, so kinda young. Usually it's something like an automobile accident or cancer. I still haven't found out.

Anyway, QoH has been having issues with her knees the past couple days and is having difficulty getting out of bed. So I've been getting to run errands by myself. :)

And her flip phone's microphone got fried during the hurricane, so the new one I ordered is supposed to be delivered to the nearest Walmart today. The tracking says it's in store and ready for pickup, but when I ordered they said they were supposed to email me a notification when it's ready for pickup. They haven't done that yet. I'd hate to make a trip over there and have them tell me it's not ready. :/

And in other news, I mowed the nabe's yard yesterday. They still haven't paid me yet. Did I tell you that when they got the tree trimmer guy to do it because they were too impatient because I wasn't immediately available to do it immediately when they wanted it that that guy charged them $60? And those suckers paid it? When Himself found out he was pissed off and told them never to pay that much again. LOL

Sure. And she had an en suite bathroom only a few steps from her bed. She tends to exaggerate, though. She seems to be fine today.

Or maybe you can phone that partcular Walmart and ask if it's really ready for pickup.

They sent me a text around 4pm and I went and picked it up. I ended up having to return it today, though, because it wasn't unlocked. I called T-mobile customer service again and spoke with someone who was more understanding who gave me a $40 credit on the bill to offset the cost of replacing the phone. I went back over to the T-mobile store today and dealt with someone who was actually helpful. I just went ahead and bought the one flip phone that they offered for $75. At least with the $40 credit it's like paying $35 out of pocket. I only wanted to spend like $25 maximum, but $10 more is worth it to me to get it over with so I don't have to keep searching for one.

Maybe they've "forgotten"?

No, they were just passing the buck. Herself said she had to get it from Himself, and then when I spoke to Himself he acted like he was unaware and said he thought Herself was supposed to pay me. I told him no, she said "you" were supposed to pay me. Then he said he would go to the ATM later (last night). Herself called me today to let me know she had it, so I went over and got it.

BTW, their mother who is dx-ed bipolar had got of her meds for a few days after the hurricane and now she is completely whacked. When I went over today she started shouting 'xul is here! lock the door!' and ran and hid in the laundry room. LOL Herself said that the hospital won't admit her unless she threatens to harm herself or someone else. My nabes definitely are not problem solvers. There's more that they could do for her. It's not like there aren't hundreds of shrinks in town. They could schedule an appointment with one who could probably get her admitted to a facility. Their main problem is that they are too used to people doing things for them, so now they don't know how to do things themselves. It's really kinda annoying to witness it firsthand. :/

Sounds like my mother. She does like to tell people what to do but she won't take the initiative herself. As far as I can tell she hates being on her own. But I guess she is sort of a problem solver even though she has a tendency to try and find solutions to non-existent problems.

BTW I've got my new matras and I'll get to try it out tonight. By sleeping on it. :)

I guess. She seemed pretty normal before the hurricane and the couple days we were over there after. When they lost power again, they all went to a cousin's house. In their haste to get over their, her meds got left behind, so I guess she didn't take them for a few days. Big mistake. Now she's off her effing rocker.

Is she a little paranoid when she's manic or was she just playing hide and seek?

She's *a lot* paranoid. She started acting funny when they got back home. At first she wasn't too bad, she'd come over and tell me stuff and then say 'don't tell anyone' and would whisper stuff like she was afraid someone could hear her. Then she didn't come out of the house for a couple days. Then when I went to collect my money, she was freaking out inside the house saying 'lock the door' ect.

I don't think she's mentally handicapped. I think the problem was with her upbringing. Her mother seems very avoidant, and according to my mother, she just allowed her kids to throw tantrums and act out and did nothing about it. So IMO you have someone who is very emotionally immature (hell, they *all* seem that way) who somehow developed bipolar. I also don't think it's a 100% chemical imbalance, I think a lot of mental illness develops as a result of how people react to the environment in which they grow up in or live in.

She does like to tell people what to do but she won't take the initiative herself.

QoH has a tendency to do that, too. :/

BTW I've got my new matras and I'll get to try it out tonight. By sleeping on it. :)

Yep. It a 4 seasons type, one that has two duvets that you can attach to each other to double the insulation. It's got duck feathers in it apparently. It's acceptably comfortable. :)

Oh, and the matras is nice and firm. Also, I have not yet fallen out of my bed.

how people react to the environment in which they grow up in or live in.

I assume it can be a bit of a vicious circle where mental illness creates a bad envirnment to grow up in and vice versa.

QoH bought a couple of those many years ago. They *are* comfortable, but not really suited to Florida temperatures. ;P

Always a bonus. ;P

Yep.

In other news, I made a delicious banana bread last night. I've eaten almost half of it already. D:

Sorta thin ones with synthetic/polyester filling.

I had bought a bunch of bananas and had 4 left over that were starting to turn brown. So instead of throwing them away, I made banana bread with them. :) It turned out good. Nice and moist and delicious.

How are things going where you live WRT the hurricane?

Everything is back to normal except for all the giant piles of tree limbs and debris piled up next to most of the roads. There's so much of it to pick up and process that they said it will be several months before it all gets picked up.

In related news, QoH has decided that she wants me to completely cut down one of the avocado trees. It wouldn't be so bad if my equipment was working properly, but my gas chainsaw doesn't want to run. It starts up and runs for a while then it cuts out and refuses to restart. And my little electric chainsaw's motor finally burned out. It'll run a little if you shake it, but not really enough to do anything. Now I have to do it by hand with a bow saw. :/

ATM I'm watching a movie called Live By Night. The first half hour was pretty good, not sure how the rest will be. (Got free Cinemax for the weekend.) Also watched A Monster Calls and Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie. There wasn't much on that was interesting or that I hadn't seen before.

Anyway, Live By Night ended up sucking. I don't recommend it. I guess I'm going to go out back and work on cutting down that tree. :/

Live By Night ended up sucking.

A group of Boston-bred gangsters set up shop in balmy Florida during the Prohibition era, facing off against the competition and the Ku Klux Klan.

Hm, I'm not a fan of gangster movies in general. I didn't know there had been a ku klux klan in Florida though.

A Monster Calls

I've seen that movie. It isn't too bad. Has a few interesting twists.

Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie

Have you seen the television series? I rather liked it at the time.

What's left of it: the tallest remaining branch is maybe 4 meters high, but the main trunk is maybe .75 meter diameter. The base closest to the ground is probably a full meter diameter. That's the problem. What's left is very thick and heavy and requires a lot of work to cut up. I suppose I could go full lumberjack and take an ax to it. ;P

I didn't know there had been a ku klux klan in Florida though.

There was, but it wasn't as influential as the movie suggested. In reality there weren't many of them and the state cracked down on the ones there were. That's one of many things that pissed me off about that movie. Lots of 21st century social justice warrior attitudes applied to early 1920's era characters and bigoted attitudes and misconceptions towards the people of Florida. It was total bullshit. And some people "learn" "history" from watching movies. :rolls eyes:

Have you seen the television series?

It was one of my favorites back in high school. :) My bff and I used to watch it together. Little did I know back then that I'd be working around socialites and celebrities and that they actually behave a lot like peeps on AbFab. ;P I find the show even funnier now knowing what I know.

Also saw War Dogs and Joy (bio of the Wonder Mop/Huggable Hanger inventor). Joy was rife with PD characters, quite a study in dysfunction, but a pretty good/interesting movie.

I *do* have an ax. It could probably use a good sharpening, but it would do the job. Instead of worrying about an engine not running, I'd just have to be concerned with me getting tired and running out of energy. ;P

It's been quite a while since you've done that though, right?

Unfortunately, yes. It could be quite fun, though. And I *did* enjoy eating the finest and most expensive food. ;D

And it really was a lot like AbFab. One of the socialites who I worked for had a bff who was a PR person (like Patsy and Eddy were supposed to be) and they drank lots of Stoli vodka and expensive champagne and knew all sorts of celebrities who came over to the house. Cher lived next door. And my client was good friends with Barry Gibb. One time she had her dock redone to accommodate Ivana Trump's yacht. Fun times. ;D

True. Even QoH has noticed that my body "feels like iron" from all the physical labor that I do. I guess she noticed the last time she tried to physically bully me and I easily thwarted her.

The last time I used the ax (a few days before the hurricane) the only injury I got was a blister on the palm of my hand. I'll just have to use gloves the next time.

Got any other good stories from it?

I got lots. :)

My former client was good friends with another socialite named Sonja Zuckerman. (Google these peeps for their bios) Little did I know at the time her husband Mort was a billionaire publisher and real estate investor. I just knew him as Mort and that he was really nice and used to come chat with me and QoH in the kitchen. It didn't occur to me that he was a big time muckety-muck until I saw him on TV on a news program doing an interview. I was like, 'Hey! It's Mort!" LOL

Nah, aside from the money aspect, it's pretty boring. The very definition of idle rich. And most of them are hot messes just like what's portrayed in AbFab.

Okay, now I shall tell you another tale. ;P

The movie Moneyball was on earlier and it reminded me of a gala that I worked at maybe 15 years ago. John Henry (owner of the Red Socks) had bought the Marlins from Wayne Huizenga. I don't remember exactly when this party was, but one to three years after he bought the Marlins and when I worked at the art center.

This guy was weird as fuck. We had to have everything "feng shui" and could not have any angles or corners on tables, so all serpentine tables with half-rounds for the ends had to be rented. I don't recall ATM all the other weird specifications, but it was enough that the staff knew we were working for a nutter. And his wife was just as weird and a massive bitch. The cool part was that many of the 1972 Miami Dolphins were there--Coach Shula, Bob Kuechenberg, etc, and some other sports celebrities that I don't recall. So we served lots of really good food and expensive booze. Story of my life: good food, expensive food, and assorted celebs and wealthy peeps. ;P

I guess, if you're talking about actors being paid to play an interesting character. Otherwise most of them are pretty boring. I've found that most of the comedians I've met are funny and personable off stage, too. Lily Tomlin was, although David Spade seemed kinda shy when not performing. Gregory Peck was very charming. Vinnie Pastore was super cool and friendly and even asked those of us who were working that night which way we preferred how he delivered a certain line.

Another funny story: I was working at the art center and there was a play starring Robert Wagner. He was in the green room rehearsing and I and another coworker were just outside in the courtyard setting up for an intermission party. So Wagner is rehearsing some part where there's an argument. So he and whoever else he was rehearsing with started getting really loud and it sounded like there was a real fight going on. So two security guards came hauling ass from the security office and ran down the hall to the green room and burst in to break up the "fight" only to discover that it was only a rehearsal. LOL Afterward, Mr Wagner came out and apologized to us for not letting us know what they were rehearsing and that they were going to get loud. LOL

When I worked at the arts center, so some time between 1997 and 2008. (Hmm, looked up when he died--2003--so some time between 1997 and 2003 then. ;P )

And where? And how? :)

IIRC, there was a wealthy lady who was donating many millions of dollars to pay off the mortgage on the arts center and Gregory Peck was at the celebration for some reason. I served food to him. He was very nice and he even let one of my coworkers get a pic with him because she was such a huge fan and was gushing about it. As a rule we weren't supposed to do that or ask for autographs.

I have the sneaky feeling that he knew people could overhear their rehearsal. :)

IDK, maybe not. It was hours before the performance and hardly any employees were there.

I had a lot of fun working there and the actual work was very easy. It didn't pay as much as other places I worked, but the perks were good.

Anyhoo, got to see the Jorina Baars fight last night. Both she and the Belgian chick had similar styles, but Jorina was much more powerful (and taller) and was landing punches more cleanly. And she kicked the Belgian in the throat at one point in the third round. D:

Also Andrea KGB Lee has officially signed with the UFC as of a couple days ago. :)

The powers that be decided that the catering department wasn't making enough money so they got rid of it.

What does that mean exactly?

She now fights for the UFC (I assume exclusively now) and should be making more money per fight than with the LFA which is like a minor league promotion compared to the UFC which is the big league promotor for MMA. Kinda like a footballer playing for a local club and then signing to play for a Premier League club. ;P

I'm really happy for her. She's been working very hard to get to the top level and she seems like a really nice down to earth sorta lady. I hope she has much success.

Just like Jorina Baars. She was fighting for Lion Fights muay thai promotion and was the champ and now signed with Bellator kickboxing. I hope they're paying her more money since it's a bigger promotor and gives her more notoriety. I *do* prefer watching her fight in the muay thai style, though. Regular kickboxing is limited to punching, kicking, and knees, no nasty elbow strikes or dumping the opponent on his or her ass. ;P

Well, I hope that flu shot prevents you from getting sick. Never been big on medical care around here, so I've never had one. I only had the routine shots when I was a baby and toddler and I think only because it was required by law. :/

Uneventful. ;P

QoH has been walking around the yard today finding things to complain about. Like the roofing material from the nabe's shed that got blown off by the hurricane and was laying over the fence. It has literally been there since the hurricane, but QoH *insists* that someone recently "draped it" across the fence. I'm tired of arguing with her over her distorted perceptions so I told her that 'we'll just go with what you think and it will be the official version'. I don't think she heard what I said or there likely would have been an argument over that. ;P

Also she now wants me to cut down all the high branches from one of the mango trees. Those suckers go about 15 or so meters high. She acts like it's no big deal. Like I have the ability to just levitate up there and cut them. Typical PD magical thinking. All she cares about is she wants something and doesn't care how difficult or dangerous it is for me.

And then she threw away my lucky bamboo plant and then threatened that she "better not find out that I took it out of the garbage". Like seriously? I'm a grown-ass woman and 1)she throws away something that belongs to me and 2)threatens me like I'm a child or something. What the actual fuck? Of course I'm going to retrieve it from the garbage bin and I guess she's just not going to find out. She's such a fucking asshole. If someone threw away something of hers she'd be outraged and throw a fit, but it's okay if she does it to me. >:(

Because she is extremely PD'd and thinks she can do whatever she wants. Also because she's my "mother" she thinks that means she is forever in a position of authority over me regardless of how old is am. >:(

It's in a big pot. The bamboos are over a meter tall. And they need sunlight and water.

She's just being an asshole about it because it's something that is mine and she resents its existence. Of course if I threw away one of her plants the shit would hit the fan. If it wasn't for double standards she wouldn't have any. ;)

Acting crazy does seem like a winning strategy. :/

She makes me despise her more and more every day with her behavior. And she seems incapable of any self awareness. It's *her* behavior that's mostly the problem.

Anyhoo, free Epix 1, 2, and 3 for the next few days, so I'm trying to watch some movies. Caught the last 30 minutes of 10 Cloverfield Lane. I still think those movies are stupid and annoying and I don't understand how it got a 3.5 out of 4 star rating. The ending was beyond absurd. :rolls eyes:

I'm going to try watching The Age of Adeline again. I tried watching it last night but QoH caused me to miss the first few minutes and it was on too late so I only watched the first hour. I doubt that I'll be able to watch the whole thing uninterrupted with QoH up and about. :/

That will never change. She will not one day open her eyes and see the error of her ways. Frankly, I've got the impression that you will never change either. Are you hoping for something to happen? For someone to save you?

I mean, I get it, you feel trapped. You don't want to abandon you're mother. You may not think you can survive on your own. That's a tough situation.

I still think those movies are stupid and annoying

It does, but because of QoH's paranoia, the hurricane panels are left on, blocking out the light. My room is like a cave because of it.

She will not one day open her eyes and see the error of her ways.

And I don't have any magical thinking and expect that to happen either.

Are you hoping for something to happen? For someone to save you?

I don't expect anyone to "save me". I know that that would never happen. But she does have to die eventually. That's my one small hope at this time. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

If I had some kind of support system or someone to help me out until I get on my feet it would be a lot easier to just leave. But unfortunately I don't have anyone to help me out. And I've already looked into govt "assistance" which is a total fucking joke. You can't just get put into temporary housing. There's a waiting list of over a year, and what they put you into is a sorta group shelter with mentally ill people and drug addicts. I'm not going to put myself into some bullshit like that.

QoH has really worked her master plan to perfection: keeping me isolated and alienated from people so that I have no friends who could help me get away from her. She has me trapped so I can be her slave/whipping girl.

"Those movies"? What are you calling "Those movies"? :)

The Cloverfield ones. I hated the first one so much because of the stupid and annoying people that I was rooting for the monster by the end of it. ;D I thought this one might not be so bad because John Goodman was in it, but it was still ridiculous.

And the Adeline movie was terrible, too. What caused her to not age was ridiculous and the love interest (Daario from GoT) was a creepy stalker IMO. IDK how anyone could be attracted to someone like that. And the Adeline character was boring and uninteresting for someone who was supposed to have lived over 100 years and had all these experiences. :/

Also, it's getting weirdly warm over here for october. And there are deadly wildfires in portugal. And there's a severe storm underway from the Atlantic. It's going to be a strange winter, I think.

Not with snow, but when I was a kid it used to get pretty cold for extended periods of time. Back then we didn't have central heating in the house and it used to get bone-chillingly cold. My stupid parents used to put a kerosene heater in the center of the kitchen. You could only feel the heat from the damned thing if you stood directly over it.

And then the stupid school I went to had a dress code where the girls were only allowed to wear dresses or skirts, no pants, so you really froze your ass off (literally) when we had to stand outside in line waiting to be led inside to our classrooms.

I don't mind cold weather now as I can choose which clothing I can wear and control the temperature inside with the central heating. :)

Besides, I have a really bitchin' rabbit fur bomber jacket that I'd like to wear some time. Very GoT chic. ;P

That's what Her Stoatliness said. And that the sun looked like a big red rubber ball.

Well, I managed to finally get the last piece of the first of two ginormous tree trunks cut in half. I did the majority of it by hand with the bow saw. Then the blade kept getting stuck so in desperation I put the largest drill bit I could find into my electric drill and had at it until it finally broke in two(the log, not the drill bit ;P). Nope, just that if I ever gain weight the first place the fat grows is my ass. :/

Well, I won't be doing anything with the wood. It's not suitable for sculpting. It's hard as iron when the tree is alive and full of sap, but when it dries out it gets quite brittle and pests seem to love infesting it. I managed to maneuver those heavy logs into the lawn cart and wheeled them out to the trash pile.

I also took my lucky bamboo over to the nabes' house today. I told them what QoH did and they said it was okay for me to keep it over there.

Have you ever had a fat ass? I do seem to remember a pic of you lying on a couch. You looked a bit heavy.

That's ragher nice of you giving the nabes all that luck. :)

I wonder what they think about QoH?

I've always had a fat ass. Only after the stress of having to deal with crazy ex-friend 12 years ago did I lose enough weight to lose the fat ass. I'm only about 7 pounds more than I was back then which was too thin. My ass is kinda perfect now. ;P

You looked a bit heavy.

Are you implying that I was fat? ;P

I think that pic was maybe a year after I graduated high school. I wasn't fat, I just wasn't very fit. I'm quite fit now. I could almost be a fitness model. ;D ;P

I wonder what they think about QoH?

They think she's nuts/awful. And QoH thinks they're all nuts.

Ugh, had to endure 5.5 hours of shopping hell with QoH today. Now I'm going to watch MMA and drink a beer because I've definitely earned it.

Good thing you're so fit. I don't think I'd make it back home after 5.5 hours. :/

Anyhoo, QoH has been especially nasty and provoking today. It's really pissing me off but I've tried my best not to engage with her. Still doesn't make it any less infuriating. :/

I checked my 'sent mail' folder and I definitely sent it to you. 9 July, 2016 to be exact. Maybe you deleted it? I could resend it if you like. ;)

Has anyone else ever seen it?

Just the parental units and my sister. And the doctors and nurses in the delivery room when I was born in imagine. ;P Oh, and that one time at the beach where my bikini was riding down. Some people behind me got an eyeful. ;D ;P

What does it take to get one of those, do you think?

I used to be friends with a girl in HS who did some modeling and IIRC you have to go to a modeling agency and pay a fee for representation. I think you have to submit a portfolio to them, too, and then they decide if they want to represent you and find gigs for you. I'm not sure what the pay structure is, whether they take a percentage or there's a set fee, but I don't think it's cheap, that's why most people don't last long in the industry. Only a few people get enough gigs to make a living from it, and that is short lived because the industry generally likes young people.

Well I managed to mow the lawn today, all but a 5x5 meter patch in the back yard because the mower ran out of gas before I finished and I didn't want to refill the tank for that small of a patch. I have to go back out there tomorrow to tidy up some things with the weed whacker so I'll just use that to get the patch of grass.

Whacking 25 square meters of weed with a weed whacker seems a bit inefficient. And time consuming.

Yes, it's infuriating as it has happened several times. >:(

BTW, I wondered what happened to you yesterday. ;)

Whacking 25 square meters of weed with a weed whacker seems a bit inefficient.

I just realized I typed 5x5 when it was more like 3x3 or slightly less. It wasn't a very big patch.

Unfortunately the weed whacker has been having a problem with the switch not working properly. It finally broke yesterday, but broke in the on position. I can still use it but I can only turn it on and off by plugging the cord in or out. It's quite annoying. And it's stuck in full throttle, also annoying.

I checked to see how much a new switch costs on the innerwebs and it's around $5 on a few different sites. Unfortunately the cheapest shipping rate it $5.25 D: .

So I called the paternal unit (while QoH was napping) because when I was at his house after the hurricane he said that someone bought him a new weed whacker and asked if I wanted it. I declined then because mine was working fine and I didn't have a place for more equipment. Anyway, he said he'd bring it to me. Miraculously, QoH was still asleep when he got here, but unfortunately what he had was a edger/trencher. :/ But for some reason he has been carrying around 2 broken electric weed whackers in the back of his truck and one happened to be a Black & Decker Grass Hog similar to mine, so I asked him if I could have it to get parts from (he said yes). Luckily he left and I snuck the thing in right as QoH was getting up, so she has no clue he was here or what was going on. :)

Anyway, the switch on mine is a little different than his, but I think I can make it work. The switch on his seems like it's okay, but I won't know for sure until I test it. I'm not sure why his doesn't work, but it seems like it's something other than a problem with the switch.

Anyway, at least I can also use the cap to the thing that holds the string because that is exactly the same as mine and they tend to wear out after a while. Those also cost around $5 to buy.

It has been raining here as there's supposed to be a cold front moving down and it's supposed to be cool here on Thursday. :)

I've been tinkering with electrical appliances since I was a teen. My first Frankenstein appliance was a fan whose motor burned out. I swapped it with the business end of another fan that had another problem of some sort, I think it's pedestal broke IIRC.

This operation should be fairly easy. Just pull 2 wires out of the old switch and plug them back in to the new one. :)

Guess what? It's finally cool here today! And it's supposed to be even colder tomorrow. They said the low was going to be around 14C. :)

Is that normal for this time of year? You seem surprised.

It's a little surprising since it hasn't gotten cool this early for years, but it's certainly not unheard of. I distinctly remember being in HS, probably when I was 16 or 17, and going trick-or-treating with my friend Brenda in her neighborhood and the temperature being around 2C. :O So not unprecedented. ;)

I welcome it as its usually so freaking hot all the damn time.

Have you ever tried using a saline nasal spray? I do that if I'm ever out and someone is sick and sneezing and hacking around me. I know I've picked up their germs because my eyes start getting that burning sensation and my throat starts getting the beginnings of that sore feeling. First thing I do when I get home is snort saline up each nostril and put some in my eyes. Usually it's enough to keep me from getting sick.

No, I have not.

Well, that and your super immune system. :)

The sneezing usually just last a day and a night. It seems to happen more easily if I lack sleep. For some reason I find it hard to go to bed at the same time every night. I just don't sleep well after a while if I do that and I need to "reset" it by going to bed late. Unfortunately my immune system doesn't like that or so it seems.

In other news, I've taken up the habit of drinking 4 cups of coffee in the morning. I feel more active and am more likely to do stuff but I also feel a little more agrressive. Plus I'm starting to loath my mother more than I usually do. I'm not sure this is a good thing.

I guess so. I'd hate to see what would happen if you started drinking Cuban coffee. D:

We certainly have that in common. I effing *despise* QoH, but it has to do with her verbal abuse, DARVOing, and inability to see how her behavior affects me, and always blaming me for everything. I imagine yours is mainly annoying? Perhaps you can spend more time out of the house and away from her?

Black. A long time ago (only a decade really) when I tried drinking coffee for the first time I did use cream and sugar/sweetener but I actually prefer it black. Once I went black I never went back. :) (not technically true as I'v ewuit drinking coffee altogether several times over the years)

I'd hate to see what would happen if you started drinking Cuban coffee.

That's a type of espresso? Yeah, that might have extreme results. :/

I imagine yours is mainly annoying?

Yeah. It's the humming, mostly. But also the worrying. The mothering.

Perhaps you can spend more time out of the house and away from her?

There's nothing outside though. I can't got to he library every day.

It's also that my future looks so empty. I feel incompetent and trapped. Nothing I've tried ever worked. I'm just consuming, vegetating.

Black.

When I used to work, if I drank coffee on the job I always used a lot of cream and sugar, but that was mainly because places I worked used cheap not-so-wonderful tasting coffee and it needed all the help it could get. When I discovered Starbuck's Sumatra coffee at a client's house, that's all I'll buy now. I can drink it black, hot, cold, whatever. It's good stuff. :)

That's a type of espresso? Yeah, that might have extreme results. :/

Yes. There's a saying that meth never caught on in South Florida because we already have Cuban coffee. ;P That stuff is super strong and concentrated. It almost looks like dirty motor oil.

I can't got to he library every day.

Isn't there anything else you could do? Like maybe go to a gym or something? Or a senior center? You're almost fiddy after all. ;P ;D

So you can look sexy for the old ladies at the senior center. ;P ;D

Many of the same mother issues. Except she's 25, so much farther ahead in finding out about PDs than when I found out about them. Also, she had the half-siblings dynamic, but is the eldest and not the youngest like I am, so the dynamic there is slightly different. But she's really smart and perceptive for her age. Better for her since her M's focus is on the younger kids. She managed to escape to college for a couple years and got away from the crazy for a while. At least she knows what PDs are and can see the dysfunction and unhealthy dynamics at a relatively young age. She's determined to break the cycle.

Anyway, I managed to pick up some cold germs somewhere. It's not a bad one, just a slight sore throat and a little phlegm leaking back into my throat. It's mainly annoying. I took some cold medicine and now feel wonky. :/

She seems to, and has a good head on her shoulders. It's difficult, though, because it's hard to make it in life by yourself since everything these days is so expensive and it's hard to find responsible people/friends to help with cost sharing like with housing etc.

Because of the cold medicine or because of the cold?

Both I think. The medicine had something that can cause drowsiness. I don't have the sore throat today, but the phlegm was still flowing down the back of my throat and felt thick. I took a guaiyfenecin pill to help with that and I feel a little better now, but still not 100% as I still feel kinda tired and out of it. :/

I don't think I have any cold medicine that people use to get high. You have to show ID to buy that stuff. All I have is the cheap crap off the shelf.

No, but I *did* have a Pisco Sunrise the other night. ;)

Hey, I think I mentioned before how QoH is always accusing me of being a "closet alcoholic". She has selective vision and memory regarding certain things. Like the last time we worked for the last client we had, they gave me what was left of a bottle of red wine. There was barely 40% left. I brought it home and had maybe 2 small glasses of it since it wasn't very good, then it sat on the counter for over 6 months before QoH noticed it and accused me of drinking the whole bottle. I told her that it wasn't even half full when the client gave it to me, but of course she's gonna argue and call me a liar and an alcoholic. There was also what was left of a bottle of cream sherry on the counter. It's literally been there almost 10 years. Once in a blue moon I would have the tiniest bit of it. So I noticed a couple weeks ago that it was suddenly missing. I assumed that QoH threw it away to keep me from having any. So yesterday she wanted me to take an extension cord out of her bedroom. When I went to unplug it from under her side table, what did I find? Yep! The missing cream sherry! She had it in a bag and was hiding it under there. LOL She's such an asshole. She thinks she can prevent me from having an occasional drink by hiding liquor and calling me an alcoholic (trying to shame me, I guess?). I think it's quite normal for adults to have an occasional alcoholic drink.

What's really out there that's so interesting?

In my case I'd just like to get the hell away from QoH.

BTW, I managed to get another large piece of the avocado tree down today. It isn't easy working without a chainsaw. I had been managing with a bow saw, but it takes so damn long that I've been using my electric drill and the largest bit I have to drill away enough wood to get it to come down. I think I just might have to ask my dad if he can give me some money to buy a new electric saw.

Self confidence yes, arrogance not so much. I'm really happy for Rose. She certainly earned the belt and embodies bushido. I hope she's the champ for a long time. :)

BTW, I managed to see a good quality bootleg video of the whole fight on YouTube. Seems if you want to see a certain fight that way you have to do it immediately after the fight aired so you can see it before the censors take it down. :)

That stuff isn't real. It's all choreographed. I think they call it "sports entertainment".

How does she do that?

Works hard, learns from her mistakes as well as others' mistakes, is respectful to her opponents even when they have been very disrespectful to her. Joanna said some really nasty personal insults to Rose before the fight in regard to mental health. Rose has people in her family who suffer from mental health problems and IMO that was really below the belt and disrespectful. Rose said she wasn't going to say things like that in retaliation. She was complimentary to Johanna for how she used to be as a champion (hard working) and also said she learned how not to act as a champion from Joanna (because of the stupid antics and disrespect to her opponents).

I'm glad the weather is nice for you. It has turned hot again here. Only it's not humid so it's not too bad.

I mowed the nabes' yard earlier today. They let it grow too high before they called to ask me to mow it. I told her not to let it get high like that, then she told me I could just do it every 2 or 3 weeks whenever I think it needs it. Don't you like how they put the responsibility on me? And I'm just supposed to do it and then call Himself to get my money. The last time they told me he was supposed to pay he told me that they never told him of that arrangement. :/

Anyway, it's fine by me. I can now get paid to do it more often. ;)

While I was over there, I called up my dad to ask him if he had a chainsaw that worked. He brought me 2. One was old (didn't have gas in it) and the new one started up when I tried it. Except I discovered that my dad didn't know that you are supposed to use a gas+oil fuel mixture in chainsaws. He only put regular gas in it. That's probably why it stopped running when I had started it at his house. That's also why every chainsaw we ever had broken so quickly. :/

I'll have to put the right mixture into it before I use it. QoH is already wanting me to hurry up and cut the tree down today. She can't even wait for me to rest a bit after I mowed the nabes' yard. :/

Yep. He's a hoarder. He has all sorts of crap like multiple tools, electronics, and TVs and whenever the batteries for the remote wear out he's too cheap to replace them, so the TV just sits unused.

When QoH and I were over there after the hurricane I wanted to put a TV in the spare bedroom. Of course, the one I found that worked didn't have a remote. Must've been lost in the crap pile. So I had to change the channels manually and it was stuck on closed caption mode which I needed a remote to get off. :/

He also has his bed covered with stacks of paperwork lined up in neat rows. He doesn't sleep in the bed but in an armchair.

He also saves massive quantities of newspapers stacked to the ceiling and all sorts of empty cereal boxes in a pile and a pile of plastic bags. The house is fucking nasty. Also all sorts of random tools and crap on every surface. Then there's old plumbing parts thrown down on the ground outside where they've turned into rust heaps. I don't even want to know what horrors lie within the 2nd bedroom and the shed. D:

What kind of chainsaw is it BTW?

One was an ancient Craftsman that I didn't bother with. The new one is an 18 inch Makita. It's really nice and very powerful. I think it's maybe a $500 chainsaw. Paternal unit claims it belonged to someone who was doing some work for him. Then there was a dispute and he kept all the guy's tools. D:

IDK, that story sounds kinda fishy. I wouldn't be surprised if paternal unit had someone staying there and maybe they skipped out on paying rent. Why would someone let paternal unit keep their tools and not call the cops on him?

Anyway, I managed to cut the massive trunk down yesterday. ;D

I'm glad I had that particular chainsaw. It's much bigger than my Husqvarna. The drawback is its also much heavier and now every part of my upper body hurts. :/ My forearms and back and shoulders especially. I went out back to look at how much more work I have to do to get it all cut up and I just wanted to cry. Very disheartening. :/

Just give yourself a day or so to rest. Working with a chainsaw when tired is not recommmended.

Very advanced technology, voice controlled even. ;P

Yeah, my parental units had one of those back in the 70's, too. ;P It was one of those Zenith ones with the big wooden cabinet. I remember there being a small B&W one in the house, too.

That must be hell on his back.

That's probably the reason why his posture is now hunched over and he complains about his pants not fitting right. The unnatural position is squashing his guts down. D:

Hey, do you think that's one of the reasons he wants that second house he's "offering" you? To get more space to store stuff?

I think it's mainly because he is bored (normal people don't want to be around him) and he sees me being next door as a steady source of amusement for him, and I suspect he thinks that I'll also be a cook and maid as well as pay the taxes and utility bills for that house. :/

Working with a chainsaw when tired is not recommmended.

That's for sure, especially when it's a big heavy one. The trunk is so damn thick and heavy that I'm going to have to cut it into many small pieces just to be able to pick them up and dispose of them. Gonna be a lot of tiring work that I don't look forward to. I'm just glad I have a proper chainsaw that runs well to do it with. :)

Oh, BTW, the other chainsaw that my dad brought to me is super ancient. It said 1985 on it. :O

Has he tried different size pants?

Does it have a flux capacitor in it? You may want to watch out with those '85 models. ;P

That would be too logical. He wears a certain size pants, dammit! And he's not gonna change sizes just because they no longer fit!

I'm picturing a cross between Army of Darkness and Back to the Future now. That couldn't be good. D:

Has he tried eating more (or maybe less)?

a cross between Army of Darkness and Back to the Future

I'd watch that movie. :)

Well, I've gone back to drawing stuff again. I guess it's something to do. :)
