Because I'm too lazy to do a real post and because I thought this was kinda funny. I don't remember exactly the last actual book I read.  I mostly read fanfics.  It's been a while since I read an actual book cover to cover.  And the last actual book I read was on the 'toobs.  So it was probably...

...A Princess of Mars with a Chainsaw, or

Dreams in the Witch House with a Chainsaw, or perhaps

The Call of Cthulu with a Chainsaw.  ;P

Even funnier is if I do that with the books that are lying about my bedroom.  Then you get:

Perfect Parts with a Chainsaw  :O

The Joys of Yiddish with a Chainsaw

Power Speech with a Chainsaw

The Goblin Companion with a Chainsaw

And last but not least:

Our Food-The Kosher Kitchen Updated with a Chainsaw  LOL  ;D

Well, I'm sure a chainsaw could solve a lot of problems. In a delightfully messy way, of course.
Does it make book titles any better though? Let's see.

The Taming Of The shrew With A Chainsaw.

Macbeth/Hamlet With A Chainsaw.

War and Peace With A Chainsaw.

Lolita With A Chainsaw.

In Search of Lost Time With A Chainsaw.

To Kill A Mockingbird With A Chainsaw.

A Portrait Of The Artist As A Young Man With A Chainsaw.

Slaughterhouse-Five With A Chainsaw.

Zen And The Art Of Motorcycle Maintenance With A Chainsaw.

You know, I might actually have read these books had these been their titles. :)

I'd read the shit out of Lolita with a Chainsaw. Someone should make that into a movie. ;P

BTW I officially joined the PD forum last night. Haven't gotten around to posting yet because QoH kept interrupting me what seemed like every 5 minutes yesterday and she didn't go to bed until almost 2am. By that time I was too tired. I have no idea when I'll get to do so. There were some good topics recently that I'd like to add to.

I'll see if I can convince Quentin Tarantino to direct it. Sounds like his shtick. :)

I'm sure you make a fine addition to the forum. You've been lurking there for a while now, I think? I guess you already know a lot of the members. What kept you from joining?

Yes, I've been lurking there a few years I think. I'm familiar with a few of the members, but like any other forum, peeps come and go. There are only a handful who've been there posting regularly since I've been reading there.

I didn't sign up before because I'm so used to keeping everything to myself. (And I had an issue about one of their terms of use, though I think that was changed when they recently reformatted the site) I was well trained by QoH to never tell anyone anything personal and to keep all family problems to myself lest people will judge me. Well, that's her hangup. I can no longer do that. It's literally killing me slowly. I need the support of others who were raised by PDs as they are the only ones who can truly empathize and give me validation. And maybe some good advice. :)

Anyhoo, season finale of OUT is on tonight. 2 hours long. I'm currently working in the yard mowing and taking my sweet time to ensure that by the time I'm done, I can take a sower and plop my ass down and watch it without QoH wanting to go to the fucking store again. I think she does that sit deliberately when she knows theres something I want to watch. Well, this just might be the last episode I watch since the show has gone to shit. It's a shame because there have been some really good actors on there whose talents were wasted with shitty writing. :/

I do appreciate your sympathy but if you have never experienced being raised by a PD you just don't understand it on that level. Count yourself lucky that you haven't experienced it.

OUAT really Pisces me off with the inconsistencies. First they set out defined rules of magic and then break them all to suit whatever dumb storyline they're going for ATM. And the stories have gotten ridiculous. Then last night, there were some really great scenes with Regina pouring out her heart to Emma, and Lana Parrilla is such a great actress that it hurts and you could go through a box of tissues. And there is some really stupid and hokey shit in the same episode.

Then they fucking hook you again with the promise of both Regina *and* the Evil Queen for next season. Very aggravating since I want to quit watching but love LP playing EQ and Regina. >:( #conflicted

Hey, you didn't answer my last question. I'll ask a different but similar one then. How would you have the series end? Happy ending/Sad ending/Open ending? Who lives and who dies horribly?

Blogger Xul said...

Hmm, since it's supposed to be fairy tales I'd like to see a happy ending.

Unfortunately, they didn't end it at the s3 finale. That episode played like a series finale right up until the last 2 minutes. IIRC the writers didn't know until the last minute if it was going to be renewed for s4, so I'm assuming they wrote that episode as the finale and then tacked on the last 2 minutes as the cliffhanger to s4. I would have liked it to end like the s3 finale minus the last 2 minutes. Everyone seemed to have a happy ending.

I really don't know what they are going to do now. It seems like they've been winging it for the past 2 seasons. They've just been retconning shit and making it up as they go along to the point that it isn't even in keeping with the original premise of travelling between realms being very difficult therefore Regina had to be tricked into enacting the original curse. Now there are 1,001 ways to travel between realms and peeps do it left and right like it's no big deal.

They killed off Hook and Robin, but Robin's death was just the worst as his whole being was obliterated. Then they fucking resurrect Hook (after one of the rules is once you're dead there's no coming back). It just all ridiculous now.

So what your saying is, you don't know how to write an ending for it either now? :)

Well, nothing much going on over here. It's all vewy vewy quiet.

Wait. Was that actually a rule?

Yeah, it was one of the ways that Rumple manipulated Regina into doing his bidding. He gave her the hope that Daniel could be brought back (the Frankenstein episode) and then when Victor revived him in Storybrooke, Daniel was like a monster and in torment and Regina had to kill him. Then there was a recon where David got killed and Regina had to rip out Snow's heart and break it in 2 and shove one half in each of them, then that was the only way that it was allowed to happen because they were true loves and David was only dead for a minute so his body wasn't rotting away. With Hook that method wasn't supposed to work because his body was rotting away in Storybrook while the heroes were trying to save ghost Hook in the underworld. Then they retconned it again by allowing Zeus to resurrect Hook. It was really stupid. They change the rules anytime it's convenient to the story.

It's all so convoluted now I wouldn't know how to write an ending.

I guess for s6 we have to suffer through steampunk Jekyll and Hyde. I already immediately hated those characters.

It is trying to be rainy here. It was supposed to start yesterday but the rain got blown to the north. Today it's cloudy and threatening but hasn't let loose yet. Supposed to be like that for the rest of the week. :/

And I managed to catch a cold from our insurance agent when we had to go into the office on Monday. I was all congested but I took a Mucinex and a concoction of honey, lemon, cinnamon, cider vinegar, and star anise and now I'm feeling better. :)

Yep, I forgot to add that I think it was a stated rule in season 1 or 2 by Rumple himself that magic cannot bring back anyone from the dead.

Just a couple Greek ones. They had Hades who was the big bad for 5b and he was the boo of Zelena. They had true love's kiss and that restarted his heart so he could leave the underworld. Hades killed Robin with the crystal dildo that he was going to stab Regina with but Robin stepped in the way and was killed instead. Then Zelena picked it up from the floor and killed Hades with it. Zeus made an appearance to thank Hook for getting the story book pages to Emma and because he helped to stop Hades (even though he played a miniscule part in it) his reward was to be resurrected. :rolls eyes:

Anyway, there was also a minor appearance by Hercules, and in 5a there was the Holy Grail (although I don't think they mentioned that the Grail was Jesus' cup from the last supper). Can't have any Christianity, Islam, or Buddhism since those are still practiced religions and could be controversial if included in a fairy tale show.

an accident or something?

No, QoH wanted to go in to complain about the cost.

Well, good.

That Mucinex really works. :)

what does Rumble really know

He was supposed to have the collective power and knowledge of all the Dark Ones (as per the 5a story line). He gave Hades a run for his money.

They must be desperate to keep peeps watching since they now made the Evil Queen a separate person from Regina. She used Dr Jekyll's evil-separating-serum to separate the EQ out of her into a separate person and then ripped her heart out and crushed it "killing" the EQ. But the EQ somehow rematerialized and will be back for s6. They know peeps love the EQ so that's their bait to keep peeps interested.

A predictable move by our adversaries, the OUAT writing team.

I wasn't going to respond to this because of my no-sexy-talk rule but I decided I can try and give you an objective analysis. I would say this is either a fetish of yours and/or it stems from some false idea you have that you'd have to get aggressive to get people to have sex with you.

Not really. It just amuses me what my subconscious gets up to. I'm pretty sure I'm on the ace spectrum, demi sexual at least. I'd never be aggressive or forward in that way in real life.

I think it's a mistake to think of your "subconscious" as something separate from who you are.

I'm pretty sure I'm on the ace spectrum, demi sexual at least.

Or you're just an average woman, sexually speaking. BUT a woman who has never been allowed to express any sexual desires because any time you tried your mother cock-blocked you, so to say. You've been trained to think of yourself as a non-sexual being.

I'd never be aggressive or forward in that way in real life.

That's because the real world has real consequences. But what if you could find a sexual partner who wouldn't mind engaging in some sexual role playing? You could be the dominant one and he could be the submissive one. No one gets actually hurt, both have a good time.

I'm not into bdsm type things. I just tend to be bossy or giving orders in my dreams.

Sigh, another FF friend has gone off the rails because of stupid-ass TV shows. These young people these days get too emotionally involved. :/

In other news QoH wanted me to make a pizza today. I made my best one yet even though I ran out of Provolone cheese and had to make them with half mild cheddar cheese. Deleted all her fics and deleted her tumblr page. She's the second ff friend who has done that. When I first started reading ff another very talented writer did that. It kinda pissed me off because what happens on the TV show really has nothing to do with what a ff writer creates. It's like cutting off your own hand because you're pissed off at someone else. It makes no sense to me even though it's not that uncommon for peeps to do on there. It's not something I'd do. And speaking of my fics, someone had my inbox blown up this morning with favorites, follows, and good comments. :)

Maybe you can be a cook...

Well, if I ever own that pub that I dream of, pizza can definitely be on the menu. ;P

Oh, BTW I was thinking of maybe doing a continuation of Hard At Work, but not with any magic willies. Just how I always imagined the show could go involving petty disputes between fairy tale characters and nursery rhyme peeps. Like Peter Piper having a dispute with Nemo from Nemo's Sub Shop over pickled peppers, or Jack Spratt having a domestic call due to arguing with Joan Sprat. It ends up like a scene from What's Eating Gilbert Grape. ;P

I don't know that it's enjoyment necessarily. I guess for some people seeing dysfunction on screen is a kinda validation and you don't feel like you are the only one going through shit like that. Back when that movie was made there wasn't Internet like there is now where you can go to find any kind of info under the sun or to reach out to others. It wasn't the usual sort of subject matter for a movie.

In the same vein, the movie August, Osage County was a hot topic at the pd forum when it came out. That one didn't even have any real light moments. It was uncomfortable from beginning to end. :/

I watched a food/travel program last night of Amsterdam/NL. The krokets and bitterbollen (sp?) Looked yummy. Also some dude made a stuffed pig head. The final product looked like a sorta lunch meat. Have you ever had that? There was some gross stuff like the raw herring, but most of the Dutch food just seems like yummy comfort food. I don't know why it has a bad reputation like British food.

It's cold and humid here.

I'd prefer that. ;)

do Americans really eat or drink that much? Why?

Some do, yes. I think the main problem is the availability of cheap unhealthy foods. Sodas for instance are sold for around $1-$2 for 2 liters and you can drink on a lot of weight from those alone. The regular non diet ones are loaded with high fructose corn syrup, which BTW the corn industry in this country is govt subsidised and they literally put corn syrup in everything that is processed food. When I go to the store I see peeps loading up on all sorts of premade food, all unhealthy stuff. When I was a kid all that stuff didn't exist. You had to cook from scratch if you wanted to eat. Now it's more convenient to buy premade or go out to eat or get fast food which tastes good, is relatively cheap, but unhealthy. If you work full time, have kids, etc it's just easier to do that.

You might live longer

I'm gonna need to to make up for lost time because of QoH.

No. Thank god. ;P

The herring is tastes better than it looks, I guess. Add chopped raw onions for extra flavor. :)

I don't know why it has a bad reputation like British food.

We generally do not add a lot of spices. For instance, stamppot is just potatoes and vegetables (carrots or kale or whatever) all cooked in a pan/pot and mushed. We do add salt and pepper but most foreigners are used to more spicy dishes.

I'd prefer that.

It would take some getting used to, I suspect. Your body likes it warm probably.

I don't know. Cheap unhealthy food is available over here as well.

No, my body does not like it warm. I would be happy if the average temperature was like 65F day/40somethingF night.

We don't have a food stamp system. Normally speaking, anyone who is unemployed gets a SS check every month that should allow them to stay alive. If it's not enough then there are food and goods banks which are charity based. We have about 570.000 unemployed people, 6.5 % of the employable part of the population. I don't know that they eat.

There are a lot of idiots here who only live in the moment and are concerned only with instant gratification.

That seems like a more reasonable way to do things. These spoiled bitches over here get all sorts of damn subsidies, some of them do better on handouts then a lot of people who work full time. There is no incentive to work when they are doing quite well on handouts. You should see the way the food stamp idiots load up on crap in the grocery store. IIRC the maximum allowance is $1800/month just for food stamps. They are usually getting subsidized housing and subsidized cell phones as well.

But that's nothing new, right?

No, but people in this country used to have some pride and a work ethic. Peeps used to be too ashamed to take a hand out. Now they are quite proud like it's a badge of honor that they are getting free shit and don't have to work for it.

Are you planning on doing some arts and crafts?

I would like to get back into it again some day and now I know where the mother load of supplies is. I can buy all the rings and scale mail supplies ready made. Oh, come on.

I grew up here. That's how it was. And you can talk to peeps who are older than me and they'll tell you the same thing.

How did you make those?

With copper wire which was the only kind of wire that was available to me back then. We have a cabinet in the car port that my dad had some spools of electrical wire stored in. He never used them for anything and one of the spools was a good gauge for making mail. I had to strip off the plastic coating and then wrap the wire around a piece of bamboo that was the right size to make a coil, then cut rings with a wire cutter off the coil. I had bought a book about medieval chain mail makers and that was the process--make a coil, then cut off rings. It was very tedious and time consuming. And weaving the rings to make the mail was just as tedious. Buying pre-made rings would save a lot of time. Plus that website has different projects that you can buy that come with all the supplies needed. :)

That site had some cool looking dragon heads that could be used as clasps for bracelets or necklaces. I thought a necklace with 2 of those and done in a byzantine link would look good. She gets SS retirement benefits because she is over 65. I don't get anything.

Seems kinda heavy otherwise.

Stainless steel isn't that heavy. The byzantine would only be about 1 cm wide. The dragonscale maybe 3 cm.

Well, good luck with the shrinkers. I think Ma Nature is coming for a visit tomorrow. I'd rather visit shrinkers if given a choice. ;P

Thank you. However, the shrinkers decided that they are not going to help as they only help people who are motivated enough. I am not that. I kinda have to agree with them. I certainly have ambivalent feelings on the matter. Back to the drawing board.

I'd rather visit shrinkers if given a choice.

It may take a while before that becomes a possibility. What are your thought on your future menopause BTW?

So why are you unmotivated?

Menopause? I haven't really thought about it much. On one hand it'll be nice to not have Ma Nature coming to stab me in the uterus once per month, but on the other hand, all the other shit like hot flashes and hormones getting whack I don't look forward to. :/

I get that but indirectly you're still benefiting, right?

So why are you unmotivated?

Because I'm an Avoidant Type Of Person? I'm kinda surprised that those shrinks do not seem to see it that way. Apparently you have to be a danger to yourself or others before they consider your level of motivation sufficient. (although they were recently in the news because someone whom they denied treatment committed suicide)

other shit like hot flashes

Hm. I've always wondered what those feel like.

Yes, but I consider it to be evening out for all the years I worked my assignment off to pay off bills that were the parental unit's. I was too naive and too afraid to try to get away on my own, so I just went along with that raw deal.

Avoidant Type

Sure, I probably could have at one time been diagnosed with that, too, but I eventually got tired of being like that. Don't you get tired of it sometimes?

you have to be a danger to yourself

Ah, yes. The good ol' govt excuse to not do anything to help. Could you seek any private practice shrinkers if you were so inclined? Do they have any who would charge on a sliding scale?

Hm. I've always wondered what those feel like.

Not me. QoH used to freeze us all out at work when she was going through it. She used to turn the AC down to like 50F. :O

And another lady who I used to work with sweated profusely. I've heard that your internal temperature gauge goes haywire. :/

So far, I get less tired from being avoidant then from not being avoidant.

Purely theoretically? I have not idea. Honestly, I suspect that any psychiatrists would think of me of some black hole that sucks up any effort of them trying to help me out of my avoidance. Plus my ambivalent feelings towards treatment would probably make them feel like they were forcing me into something I don't really want.

Do they have any who would charge on a sliding scale?

I think my insurance would still cover it. At least partially.

I've heard that your internal temperature gauge goes haywire.

Yeah, it it does sound like it sucks. I am glad men don't go through it. On a somewhat related not, I'm starting to wonder when my mid-life crisis starts. Maybe I'm not getting one of thsoe either?

You don't get one since you're comfortable in your avoidance. ;P

I on the other hand have been having fantasies of doing welding and blacksmithing and metal work and driving muscle cars and motorcycles. ;P

Anyhoo, I am watching the USWNT play Japan. They were losing 2-0 at one point but got one back by the end of the 1st. Now they've tied it up. Got about 20 minutes to go. They better light a fire under their asses. ;) Although they got a couple of their starters not playing because of injuries. Still, the others need to pick up their game.

I have also been working out a bit today in spite of Ma Nature still hanging out. She should be gone by tomorrow so I can get back to ab exercises. :)

Hm. So did they win or lose?

Neither. It ended 3-3. US scored the go ahead with about a minute left in regulation, then got aggressive and lost possession on a sloppy mistake and Japan scored in stoppage time. Japan really played their assessment off, though. US ladies were playing with a bunch of different starters. They really need to get thir act together before the games start counting. There really is a noticeable difference with Rapinoe and Lloyd out from injuries. And Hope Solo didn't look sharp IMO. I would have yanked her and put in Harris.

Anyhoo, the rest of them should have played better. Most of them play in the NWSL so it's not like they're out of shape. :/

So how's your weekend going? Mine is warm and relatively comfortable albeit a little boring. I did get one of those Mission Impossible movies form the library to watch. It didn't make me throw up in disgust.

Yep. And it was a pretty good game even though we did not get the preferred outcome.

My weekend is rather boring. I washed some clothes and cut up a rather disappointing watermellon. Just got shouted at and called names by QoH. So the usual. It is hot as hell as well. Supposed to get some rain but that hasn't happened yet.

It didn't make me throw up in disgust.

That's always a positive. ;P

I watched a movie the other night called Haywire. It had Gina Carano and a decent cast. I just have to take exception with these movies with female fighters/action heroes. Women are not as physically strong as men. Fact. It's unrealistic to have a woman fighting a man who is much bigger than her and she's beating the crap outta him. It doesn't happen in real life. Even Lucia Rijker got herself knocked out the time she fought a man and she was probably the hardest hitting female fighter I've ever seen. Women's fighting techniques for self defence are basically nut shots and eye gouges. It would be nice if they made movies with the female action hero lead being wily and cunning and not fighting male style. /end rant ;P

Coincidentally, the Mission Impossible movie I watched, "Rogue Nation" has a female character who fights that way, I'd say. She's actually portrayed as practically Hunt's equal. Tom Cruise isn't the biggest actor out there so I guess that kinda makes sense.

BTW my parents just harvested the first strawberries of the year and they're quite tasty. :)

Were there any good electrical light shows to go with them? We Florida girls like a good show. :)

Mmmm, strawberries! I bought a 2 pound box (which turned out to be 3 pounds when I weighed it at home) a week ago. They weren't too bad. Even made a strawberry smoothie. :)

I've been having fun at the PD forum. Lots of interaction. It's amazing all the similar experiences peeps have. It's like the PDs are their own species with predictable behaviors.

I'd also been getting an advert in my fb feed for some personal trainer chick. The hook was 'how long can you hold a plank position?' It showed a chick doing one from her elbows. Well I just tried doing it the regular way and from my elbows. I can go 1 minute on each, although I did them back to back and was a little tired on the second one. That's a pretty good test of core strength. I'm gonna have to see if I can do it longer. I just stopped at a minute. Didn't want to push it right away. ;)

No that I've noticed. But thunderstorms usually strike at night over here.

Hm, almost like normal people then. :)

Better watch out that you don't dehumanize them though.

Doesn't seem like there's a practical application for this skill. ;P

Strawberries, milk, and plain yogurt. Then blend it all until smooth. ;) Oh, and a bit of sweetener.

Probably not. Just a feat of strength for showing off. ;)

Anyhoo, all the working out is starting to show obvious results. I look like an athlete or something. ;P

Oh, and another feat: the flamingo stance. It's kinda a thing to test how badly one is aging. You stand on one leg with your eyes closed. It's much harder than it seems. I can stand on one leg a very long time with my eyes open, but closed really tests your balance and brain function. My balance is that of a teenager. :)

I don't intend to age badly like QoH or some of my friends from school. I want to be like the 90 something y/o woman doing yoga on that one commercial. :)

Natural. I used regular sugar this time. I could have used stevia but that's for QoH since she's diabetic.

who doesn't like running. ;P

I *can* run. I chased a cat out of the yard last month. I kept pace with it for probably 50 meters and wasn't even huffing and puffing afterward. ;P

It has been very humid and hot here as well. There was that stupid wet fart of a tropical storm that hit NW Florida and dragged a bunch of rain and clouds with it. We didn't get any rain here. It was just cloudy and a little breezy, but it made it soooo humid! I went outside to rip out some ferns an bromiliads that QoH wanted gone and I was out there for about an hour and sweated so much that it looked like someone poured a bucket of water on me. I had to quit after an hour because I couldn't stand it any longer. :/

I also did a arm and abs workout yesterday. My back is a bit sore. Don't know if it was from pulling out shrubs or from one of the exercises.

I also learned that Orlando got a NWSL team called the Pride and that Alex Morgan and Ashlyn Harris play for them. It's convenient for both of them as Alex is married to a dude who plays for the Orlando men's team and Ashlyn is from the Cocoa Beach area which is about a 30-45 minute drive due east of Orlando (depending on how much of a Florida driver you are ;P). And I like that the team color is purple. Very regal. (And I happen to like purple jerseys.) :)

Yeah, same here still.

I had to drive my oldest nephew to the doctor this morning. The nail on one of his big toes had to be removed. It turned out it was easier to that than thought. So that little operation was over quick.

The nail on one of his big toes had to be removed.

D: Why? Was it ingrown or have fungus or something? So gross.

Yes. Don't your FCs have names? Isn't Ajax called "the jews"? Or Arsenal the gunners?

Apparently I missed a good USWNT game on Sunday vs Japan again. I thought it was a repeat of the previous game vs Japan and didn't watch it. US won 2-0. Their next game is Saturday IIRC. :)

:D Yep! I just liked the US Soccer page on fb and also Ashlyn Harris' page so I can keep up with schedules and such.

Speaking of, I need an updated version of the USWNT jersey. The one I have is a Mia Hamm Jersey (so you see how old it is) and the last time I washed it some of the number on the back washed off. D: Plus it fits kinda big and blousey on me. I'd like something more fitted to show off my wonderful physique. ;P And then there is the dilemma of whose Jersey to get as I like quite a lot of the players.

In other news, there was another dead possum on the sidewalk today when I went to bring in the garbage bins. I gave it a quick burial but let QoH think that a vulture carried it away. QoH didn't want me to bury it in the yard but it would be reeking to high heaven if I put in in the trash to wait for the next pickup on Monday. I buried it in the swail so technically that is not the yard. ;P

Yep! 2 kinds-turkey vultures and black vultures. And they're big bastards. They are almost 1 meter tall. Sometimes they fly in groups and land on the roofs around here to rest. When they do it sounds like there is a large man up there clumping around. Florida has lots of big critters just wandering around. Did you hear about the 14 foot long gator that lives at the golf course?

You mean swale?

Yes, I guess that is the preferred spelling even though I've seen it spelled both ways.

Still hot and humid here. And raining ATM. I don't like Florida summer weather. :/

I did, yes. I also heard that the evidence for it was photoshopped.

I found the 4th season of GoT in the library. I guess I also know what I'll be doing this weekend. :)

Oh, my sister bought herself a new car. Now she won't have to borrow mine anymore.

And I found a new free computer game to play, Path Of Exile. It seems interesting but it may get a little repetitive after a while.

And my youngest nephew is visiting ATM. His parents have gone to a housewarming party. His becoming quite the movie buff. He just loves to critique movies.

Well that must be a different one. The one I'm talking about someone videoed it on their phone and it was indeed massive. Also the peeps who are regulars at the course are familiar with the gator and say he's quite the celebrity there and every bit of 14 feet.

Hmm, GoT huh? A very good way to kill the weekend. :)

What kind of car did your sis get?

What are your other 2 nephews doing? Did they go to the party, too, or do they have their own activities?

I will be busy with watching sporting events today. The Belmont race is on and also the USMNT Copa America game. I was mistaken and thought it was the women playing today. I obviously misread the schedule. Their next game is next month. All the players have returned to their NWSL teams and are playing for them this weekend.

I watched the last USMNT game which they won 4-0. They actually played well and looked like a decent team. Usually I can't stand watching them as they usually play crappy.

Well, I'm kinda being treated to some peace and quiet today. When I got up QoH was asleep and she's still asleep and it's 1:45pm. :)

Yeah, the religion of piss at it again. I'm sure the govt will respond by bringing several million more muzzies here to show how tolerant we are. Of course they are not required to be tolerant.

I'm so tired of hearing all these moronic talking heads on the TV who can't figure out the POS's motivation. Uh, his disgusting Koran tells them to kill gays, infidels, etc. It's not that difficult to figure out. He even said that shit to his coworkers and then when the authorities investigated him he told them that the coworkers were just racists and that he said that stuff just to rile them up. This evil POS was gaming the PC system here and laughing about it. I hope he has a good time burning in hell.

It definitely played a role. The guy who did it had some issues himself as well. Apparently he was gay himself and a regular visitor of the gay bar he shot people in.

He also beat his former wife, according to said wife. I haven't read much about his current wife (now his widow).

He sounds like one extremely frustrated asshole.

Well, he was Afghani and taking it up the ass when they are boys is just part of their culture that we are supposed to respect according to the asshole in chief. And beating your wife is something that is taught in their mosques. And there was an imam up in Sanford preaching that gays are sick people and that killing them is an act of mercy. So I guess we all just have to be tolerant because he was just practicing his religion and if we say anything negative we are all bigots.

I wonder if they are gonna arrest the current wife as it seems she was an accessory and knew about the plans and scouted out targets with him.

Anyhoo, in other news, one of the first ff's that I originally read and got me into reading ff has been updated after almost 2 years. I thought the story had been abandoned but apparently the writers just had a string of personal issues. Yes, if the law is applied like it should be, she should be arrested. Although with the current administration there's a good chance they won't.

So what's the story about?

I'm not sure exactly where they're going with it. It's set in s2 after Emma & MM get back from EF followed by Cora & Hook. Rumpled has tricked Emma into casting a binding spell on herself and Regina and Greg Mendell is in town snooping. Plus there is town politics political drama between the former royals and the Blue Fairy manipulating things, too. It is very slow burn but is written very well and the pace is good even though the plot is unraveling very slowly. I just hope they don't take another 2 years to upload another chapter. ;P At least the chapters are like 25,000 words long, so it provides a lot of reading enjoyment. :)

Just about every day is that time with her. It escalated to the point last night where she comes into my room to rant about the 2 year old kid who got killed by the gator at Disney. Then she starts telling me about going out in the Everglades with her boy toy in a 10 ft john boat and all the gators out there. Usually if I tell her about something that she dubs foolish or dangerous she will take the opportunity to berate me over it. I've gotten to the point where I like to give her a taste of her own medicine and told her that what she did was really fucking stupid.

Well, narcissists like her really don't like being called out on their hypocrisy so she flew into a rage and was shouting her usual hate speech at me. Mind you, I was trying to watch TUF at the time and was trying to hear what they were saying and trying to tune her out. Then she leans over my bed and gets inches from my ear and is screaming at me and spit is getting all over me. So I got up and tried to usher her out so I could close the door and lock it.

Her usual move when I do that is to grab the door frame and refuse to leave so I have to physically touch her to get her out. She's still screaming shit at me and repeating it over and over like a small child would do so I just started repeating her over and over back at her. She didn't like that and did her usual go-to maneuver of grabbing my throat. I smacked her hand away but she managed to get a good squeeze in. Somehow I got ahold of both her wrists and tried to push her away but she is so fucking fat and heavy that she wasn't budging. So I managed a kung fu maneuver getting under her elbow and twisting her arm which got her off balance enough for me to retreat back into my room and slam the door and lock it. Then she started pounding the door and threatening me with vague threats.

Anyway, when enough time had passed for her to cool down I ventured out to go get a bottle of water from downstairs, I noticed that in the melee the louver on the door to the central AC got smashed in. Luckily it is made of some kind of thin metal so I managed to straighten it out before she had a fit over that.

Oh, BTW she has now started claiming that the time that I actually slapped her in the face, now her story is that I punched her. Don't you just love the revisionism? What she was saying to me to earn that slap could have earned a hate crime charge if the police had been involved, so she is hardly an innocent. But that has always been her M.O. to antagonize until the point that the other person snaps and then she tries to play the innocent victim who was just minding her own business and was attacked out of the blue.

Seen any good movies yourself lately?

Nope, can't say that I have. But TUF last night was pretty good. Team Claudia won 7 of 8 fights and Joanna is pissed. :) I hope Claudia wins the rematch. I thought she won the first one against Joanna but the judges were obviously blind.

She is going to abuse me either way. I get abused even if I sit quietly and say nothing. Then she says that I'm "sulking" amongst other things.

I have a hard time just taking her abuse lying down. You are not here to see her behavior and hear the over-the-top shit she says to me. No one would believe it if I told them. She is just about on the same level of hateful as that terrorist who killed all those people in Orlando. And she really crossed the line with me last night at the grocery store. If I had *anyone* who would take me in who isn't one of my crazy parentals I would not have stuck around for all this time.

And I find the PMS comment very insulting. I've never had that. What I do have is a crazy bitch in my face every damn day. I really think she is trying to set me up with the shit she is pulling. It's like she is trying to see how far she can go with her hateful behavior before I really snap or it gets so bad that I move out. Then she can play the victim that I was the one who was abusive to her and she can justify all her abusive behavior to herself that I deserved it because I am so awful.

Ya know, this shit that she keeps accusing me of with the crazy bitch...that "friendship" ended over 11 years ago and she never said anything to me about it until about 2 or 3 years ago. I find it interesting that at that point she had started watching a former televangelist's (who was popular in the 80's) network. They are really over the top on their anti-gay rhetoric saying that that is the ultimate abomination etc. Well in Christianity all sin is an abomination to God. One isn't supposed to be worse than the others.

Anyway, I think in QoH's twisted mind, since she always had my father as the scapegoat/whipping boy or some other distraction, I was kinda forgotten in the background. Now that she has nothing but time on her hands and no one but herself to blame for her failures in life, as a Narc she cannot blame herself. So she has to have a new scapegoat which would be me. So she has to come up with some sort of way to paint me black so to speak, so the ultimate horrible thing that I could possibly be is gay. So if she keeps banging away that I'm gay, then she can justify the horrible shit that she says and does.

It's really fucked up.

She is just about on the same level of hateful as that terrorist who killed all those people in Orlando.

That sounds like an exaggeration. If you really believed that then you'd have called the police (or the FBI or whoever). Like the wife of that terrorist should have done.

What I do have is a crazy bitch in my face every damn day.

And usually you can handle that but apparently not today. So it's not PMS exactly, okay, but could it be menstruation related?

I really think she is trying to set me up with the shit she is pulling.

And you've decided to fall for her trap?

in Christianity all sin is an abomination to God.

I'm pretty sure the term "abomination" was invented to refer to things that are (much) worse than other things. I have no opinion on what a god might think about that.

I don't think homosexuality is an abomination at all. I don't even think it's bad. There's not enough love in the world as it is and if one is born to love the same sex than, well, so be it.

So if she keeps banging away that I'm gay, then she can justify the horrible shit that she says and does.

That does sound plausible. I get that your not gay but can you imagine how bad you'd have it with her if you were actually gay? Then again, you might have had a bigger support network if that was the case.

Have you wrote about this on the PD forum BTW?

Well, another day another blow-up. She got a proposed tax increase letter in the mail and comes into my room all riled up and she wants me to read it. Except like she always does when she wants me to look at a paper she yanks it away when I try to take it. Then it just decended into some real toddler behavior on her part. I had enough of her shit so I got dressed and left the house.

Unfortunately I had no one to call or anywhere to go really, so I just went over to the neighbor's house. She let me in and I told her the whole situation. I stayed there for about 3 hours. When I went home QoH was miraculously not in a pissy mood any more. And she completely forgot her bs with me when I told her that nabe's bro had a biracial baby. That really got her wound up but at least the heat was off me.

Anyway, I reeeeally need to try to find some kind of work to get me out of the house.

I haven't written about any of this on pd forum. I want to but I'm not sure where to start as there are layers upon layers of issues to write about. And I know that the advice will be that I need to move out but that is easier said than done.

IDK, I guess it would be best to start with the crazy blogger situation. I think she was perhaps borderline personality. Her behavior matches with that. In person interactions could always get volatile. Always felt like I was walking on eggshells.

It wasn't until Scottish Lass first blogged about thinking that her mother might be borderline, that sounded similar to QoH, but when I looked into it, it wasn't a match. I didn't know there were a bunch of PDs. When I found the NPD description we had a perfect match.

It wasn't until recently when QoH started dredging up the CB crap did I start thinking about it. She totally matches BPD.

So that whole situation just really sucked as I was in the middle of 2 PDs. QoH the narc control freak an CB the chaos manufacturing borderline who was deliberately jerkng me aound to fuck with QoH.

No, I didn't write an intro post. My personal situation has too many specific details. On on hand I'd like to give some background and explain my situation, but on the other, the forum discourages giving info that is too specific because it's an anonymous forum and peeps are supposed to guard their anonimity.

I've mainly just commented on topics started by others. I only started one thread and that was in regard to a certain behavior.

BTW, like paternal unit always said, QoH is such a liar. Not only is she making up shit about me fucking CB (seriously, just thinking about that makes me throw up in my mouth) but she said the most outrageous thing to me. She said that I said in regards to lesbians, 'What's the big deal? They only lick you.' My fucking jaw hit the ground on that one. Never have I ever spoke those words. This shit just totally blows me away.

For the record, the only thing that turns me on is hetero porn (most of which I find silly and ridiculous) and hetero erotica. Those dumb cinemax pornos that show a variety of situations-- the female/female do absolutely nothing for me. Might as well watch paint dry.

And this is totally unrelated, but what's the deal with Dutch insults like telling people hope you get cancer or aids? :O

To each his/her own.

That's something you hear mostly in cities in the Randstad, I think. It's traditionally consumption but it has "modernized" to cancer and apparently aids. Like, "krijg toch de tering!" is a familar expression from Amsterdam. Its' American equivalent would be like "go fuck yourself!".

She was rather physically repulsive. Even if she wasn't I still wouldn't be interested. :/ Honestly the first time I saw her I assumed she was gay and I hoped she hadn't gotten the wrong idea and that I was only there for friendship.

Well, you asked a while ago if I watched any good movies. I watched Shooter with Mark Wahlberg and a little bit of Tucker and Dale vs Evil with Alan Tudyk. That one I'd heard good reviews for. It was silly, and since I missed a lot of it before I switched to it, I just didn't finish watching it. Not really my thing. It's the kinda genre like the Evil Dead stuff.

Friendship... Hm... I've heard of that. Never really figured out what that was supposed to be. :)

It's the kinda genre like the Evil Dead stuff.

The first movie or the ones that came after it?

The library here has 3 seasons on House of Cards. I heard it's pretty popular in the States so I got myself the first season just to check it out.

How are you feeling at the moment BTW? I bit better maybe?

Wednesday, June 22, 2016 1:02:00 PM
Blogger Xul said...

Why?

Because of the way she carried herself. A bit mannish, although she had long hair. I guess that could be from being in the military. I assume QoH made the same initial assumption.

She bragged a lot about how many guys she fucked. I don't think that's something that lesbians would do. Also complained about lesbians in the military and how she hated them. Also bitched ad nauseum about an ex-bf.

Friendship...

But I'm your friend! :)

The first movie...

The silly Bruce Campbell ones.

House of Cards

I haven't seen it, but I heard that it is very good.

How are you feeling...

I'm okay, but QoH is starting to piss me off with her usual bullshit again. Yesterday there was a lull. Seems she can only go 1 day until she's back to her usual crap. Of course she turns it around and says that about me. She totally lacks the awareness that I'm reacting to her behavior.

For example, she had a +$1 descrepancy in her bank account. I had to go back through her check book to find the error. Determined that the insurance peeps deducted $1 less than the billed amount. I told her that. I told her she needs to add $1 to her check book balance. She comes to me today asking about this again. Explained that the discrepancy happened not last month but the month before last. She never seems to be able to comprehend anything I tell her. I had to repeat myself twice and then she blows up and screams at me that I always have to turn everything into an argument. How is explaining something an argument? She can't understand plain english, gets frustrated, and instead of blaming herself, she has to project it onto me. It's very difficult to live in an environment where that shit is an almost daily occurrence. :/

I hate bothering people with anything. I feel like I'm intruding in their lives. Being an Avoidant doesn't make me very good at being a friend, I think.

I made a snarky comment on a libertarian page

Cool, I guess? What was the remark and what is the meme?

Yeah, that whole living in different countries thing kinda sucks. If you did live here, I'd definitely like to go out places with you. For example, the Florida Super Con is happening next month. I've always wanted to check out one of those. You'd probably like to go, too. :)

I generally don't like bothering people with my issues either and I think most people really don't want to hear it or get involved even if you think they are your friends.

What was the remark...

It was in reference to the Congress critters having their hippie sit in on the floor of the House. They're basically having a tantrum because all the votes on gun legislation didn't go their way. I said 'maybe next they could all hold their breath until they turn blue'. 2 hours after I left that comment someone did a meme pic saying 'next we're going to all hold our breath until we turn blue'. It's possible others had the same reaction as I did, but it was a little bit of a coincide that I commented that on a libertarian site and then the meme came from a sister libertarian site. ;)

In general, yes. But it's not like Britain can just ignore EU standards now if they wish to export goods to an EU country.

Of course there is always talk of Texas seceding the union (Texit) and Florida (Frexit ;P) which would be interesting. 30 years ago it might have been doable but now there are too many diverse idiots living here. It's a miracle that the state govt manages to stay relatively fiscally responsible.

Yeah, some people are hoping EU will collapse. Isn't it in the interest of the USA that the EU survives? It seems to me that it's a lot easier to export goods to a single European market than to dozens of divided markets.

How do you feel about lady problems BTW? Some men are very immature on the subject it seems going by what some of the women on the pd forum have said. One woman's hubby had the nerve to turn down sex even after she was past Aunt Flo by 2 days, siting that there would still be "residue". How rude. I'm not sure what I would have said if I was her but it wouldn't have been nice.

Amazingly enough, I haven't been cramping badly, I'm just feeling randy as hell. :/ Very frustrating.

Well, if worst comes to worst there's always condoms. Did you know men can have "residue" as well? There can be an increase in the production of smegma that collects under the foreskin when I'm ill.

Well, I guess you could say physical. If I'm cramping that is a problem, otherwise it's just that it is a rather messy affair IYKWIMAITYD. ;) However, I could no longer take it and took care of business 2 or 3 times, just takes a bit longer with certain things in the way.

Then I looked at a website that sells "toys" and such. I definitely need to get some of those. ;)

men can have "residue" as well?

Yes, that's why I said that my reply wouldn't have been nice. I would have called that guy out on his hypocrisy.

And you?

It has been insanely hot here. I went out to trim the shrubs in front of the house on Saturday. It was soooo hot that I was moving slowly and cleaning up as I went. I was apparently not doing it as fast as QoH thought I should be doing it so she comes out and accuses me of "talking to someone". I asked her where the person was as there was no one outside except me. The neighborhood really was like a ghost town that day. Then she says I'm talking to them on my phone. I didn't have my phone with me and I was wearing cotton gym shorts so I pulled out the pockets to show her that there was nothing in there and lifted my shirt to reveal nothing stuck in the waist band. I told her she was suspicious for nothing. She said "with you I have to be". Which is bullshit. She's the one who is shady and paranoid over nothing. She pisses me off so bad with her control freak bs.

Anyway, I finished up the one shrub and went back in the house since QoH was now milling around outside. It was too hot and I needed a break. I eventually went back out an hour later and finished.

Yesterday I watched some fútbol. The one Euro game and then the Copa América final Argentina vs Chile. I had a feeling Chile would win and they did on PK's.

Nothing much on TV to watch. :/

IDK, the lady was complaining about some of his behaviors. Like he was unzipping her pants and groping her in front of traffic in front of their house. Also only wanting sex when he is in the mood, not vice versa. Sounded like he was just being a jerk and using the residue remark as a lame and hurtful excuse. Not sure if he is PD or just an asshole, but the 2 are not exclusive. PD's can be quite assholeish.

The main issue was whether PD's do things to deliberately embarrass you. Erm, yeah they do. Just like that time QoH loudly said that I wear men's underwear in Walmart. I do not. I have flannel boxers that I got from work and use as pajama bottoms. I do not wear them as underwear. She damn well knows that but said what she said to try to embarrass me in front of strangers.

Talking about it doesn't really help much. I'm still stuck here with no place to go.

I looked at the natl domestic violence helpline website. Not much help, really. There's a # to call to talk to someone, but since QoH monitors my every move and listens like the Stasi, it doesn't help me any.

I also looked into if there are any shelters. There are like 2, Salvation Army and some other multi purpose hell hole that got bad review and people say they keep you prisoner like you're in a jail and make you work there without pay and you have to attend their stupid classes. No thanks. I don't need to jump out of the pan and into the fire with a bunch of homeless mentally ill people and drug addicts.

This fucking sucks. QoH has successfully alienated me from what little family I had and any friends I had, not that my so-called friends would be any use since the ones I was closest with either live out of the country or in the West coast of this one.

When I tried calling my former bff's mother for help she just kinda blew me off and didn't want to get involved.

Paternal unit would take me in but he's as crazy as QoH just a different type of crazy. I'd be trading one torture for another.

Only my sister understood the bullshit that was happening with QoH but she's been dead for 7 years.

That's not a productive way of thinking. People have gotten out of worse situations, I think. Like those WW2 POWs escaping from German prison camps. They never gave up.

Yeah, I know about the chat line. That's just about as difficult to use as QoH is constantly milling around and spying on me. She is already ultra suspicious to begin with.

POW camps are a completely different thing. Firstly, I don't have any documented evidence of her doing anything as the time I did call the cops they were reluctant to do anything because she is elderly and they didn't take a report. Secondly, most people can't fathom that a mother could be so abusive and cruel, so I must just be a spoiled brat who is exaggerating. Only the PD forum people know that they ARE that nasty.

Idk, I guess I'll have to ask advice at the PD forum.

So how do you write the stuff on this blog, articles and comments? Some of them are fairly long. A chat doesn't have to take a long time.

most people can't fathom that a mother could be so abusive and cruel

The person on the other end of the chat line is not some random individual. It's probably someone who has heard many, many stories about abuse from people and who is aware of all sorts of parents being abusive to their children. He or she will be aware of narcissists fucking up their kids' lives. And even, EVEN, if this person does not understand then nothing is lost, you just move on.

I'll have to ask advice at the PD forum.

Well, the crisis chat peeps are supposed to be trained. I suppose they've heard it all before. I was mainly referring to regular peeps, friends, etc who have no experience with PD's and can't relate.

I could ask the PD forum peeps about the chat line. There's one lady there who seems to know about those types of things. I think she's a mod at another forum for peeps in abusive marriages.

It was thundering like crazy earlier today but didn't rain except for a sprinkle which didn't last long. Damn, there goes another boomer!

Anyway, I forgot to mention that when I got rained on while shopping the rain was pouring off the side of the vehicle and straight into my shoe. Had to walk around Sam's with soggy shoes, socks, and feet, and finally got out of them when I got home. :/

Is she going to eat all that in one day?

I made too much for that to happen. It will last all week. She's lucky to have any since there was a quick rain shower to rain on my coals about halfway through grilling all the food. I had to briefly pick up the grill with oven mits and move it onto the back porch. I managed to scorch one of the mits during the process so QoH will likely have a fit when she discovers it. :/

Grilling with coals is a matter of timing and getting rained on can really fuck it all up. Luckily the rain didn't last long and I got it all moved back and even had enough heat left to grill some corn in their own husks. Which came out really delicious, and I was surprised to learn that the corns were bicolor when I took the husks off. :O

Idiom can be difficult to translate.

The rest of it seems difficult to translate, too. ;P Which is too bad as it was an invitation to some sort of assertiveness/self defense class and I was interested in what they were teaching.

Don't you already know that stuff? I mean, you know kung fu, right? :)

I like this word 'mierenneuker'.

"Ant fucker" basically, or someone who pays too much attention to details.

Also, a long time ago Whoopi Goldberg used the term in the movie Jumping Jack Flash. "Needle dick the ant fucker" I believe the exact expression was.

Where did you find that word BTW?

It was something a little different than just defending oneself physically. Jorina Baars had posted it. I think it was more to do with situational awareness and how to be assertive in social situations and how to not let people cross boundaries. It seemed interesting. If I lived in Jorina's area I would have liked to have gone.

Yes, ant fucker. Similar to nitpicker but not exactly. Describes QoH pretty well. ;P

On fb there was a page called Stuff Dutch People Like and I found it on a link to another page about idioms and such. :)

Needless to say QoH is back to name calling today. I'm trying to ignore her and not argue back but it's not easy. I may have to consider moving in with paternal unit even though he's crazy, too. :/

I forgot that y'all like your bicycles and complaining (including complaining about the weather). And you lot supposedly get the most sleep and are the happiest peeps in the world (in spite of all the complaining ;P). Herring and kroketen (sp?) And some sort of sprinkles that you eat on toast you like also. ;P

There was also much complaining that Dutch was being Americanized and that young people would rather speak to you in English than in Dutch. Some older peeps complained that after living abroad for several decades and coming back to NL that their dialect got called old fashioned and "boer" (yeah, I know it means farmer, so basically hicks lol).

Then there were complaints from English speaking folks that 98% of Dutch is comprised of idioms and all spoken backwards. ;P

One of the best things was Google translate fails where someone would post a sign and then "translate" it to English and it would be incomprehensible because of the literal word for word translation. ;P

But it's not just Dutch, one of my French friends was complaining about people mangling her language (online) and then they'd admit that they didn't speak French and it was Google's fault. ;P

I only know a few words of French but I learned to say je ne parl pas francais with a good accent and it throws people off. ;D

I guess it would be easiest to let her make the big decisions.

I've done that my whole life (not that I had much choice, she calls all the shots always) so yes, that would be easiest. And it would be on her.

We are having sunny weather here but it is way too hot and humid. It feels like 100f degrees outside. :/ How's it on your side?

Well, yeah, sure. But it's mostly to show off our language skills. Plus it's easier for us to speak English than it is for Americans to speak Dutch. :)

So many kids these days spend hours and hours on Youtube watch English speaking Youtubers. The sort of naturally learn the language that way. I guess I did the same thing with German and English just watching TV shows.

How's it on your side?

We had rain for a couple of days but now the temperature shot upwards a whole 5 degrees! It's like 25 degrees Celsius over here. :)

Yeah, that was noted. Easier than suffering through someone mangling your language, but then the American person doesn't get to practice to try to improve. :)

That's one of the downsides of growing up on a continent where most everyone speaks English. It used to be that all the immigrants wanted to be American so they learned the language and assimilated, now the country is being flooded with Spanish speakers so much that they don't have to learn English to get by because there are so many of them. It's easier to learn a language when you are immersed in it.

It is killer hot here again today. I went out to finish the hedge in back and was okay while I was in the shade, but when I had to get in the sun I thought I was going to die it was so hot. :/

Do you think Spanish will someday officially become the USA's second language? To how far do you think is the Spanish language culture leading to a division of the country, if at all?

I guess I was trying to say...

I think I understood.

Do you think Spanish...

It already is the de facto second language. Whenever you call a business' customer service line there is an option for Spanish and all official documents seem to be written in English and Spanish.

...Spanish language culture leading to a division of the country

It's hard to say since Spanish is a common language to many yet they come from many different cultures. Depending on who you are with they will trash talk other Spanish speaking nationalities. In spite of living here, they maintain their respective nationalism. The main problem, for example, is dealing with hiring bias in the workplace. If you go into a place where the manager is Brazilian, they will hire other Brazilians. If they're Cuban, they'll hire other Cubans. If you are English speaking American, you can forget about getting hired if the majority at the place is Spanish speaking.

I went to school and worked with a lot of different people. Didn't really have a problem with most. Some of the Latin cultures can be rather sexist, though. I think that the differences get watered down the longer peeps are here and can assimilate and then the next generations get more Americanized.

Prune-Xul

Well, maybe as I turn into an old fart. ;P I did drink plenty of water yesterday, so that should offset things. Hot again today. I managed to finish most of the hedges. Just have the one Suriname cherry bush and the small hedge by the nabe's fence to do. :/ then I have to rake up the cuttings. :/

Apparently known in Suriname as Monkimonki Kersie. You can eat the fruit Wikipedia says. Have you ever tasted it? Also, the crushed leaves are supposed to repel flies.

So what's your weekend going to be like, you think? We've got a nephew visiting today. The lively one. :)

Yes. I don't like it. I really don't know how to describe how it tastes. Nothing like actual cherries. They are juicy, but have a strange tart-chemically taste. And they usually have little wormy larvaes in them, probably gnat larvae. I think they're gross, but if you were starving or needed them for survival I guess just hold your nose. ;P Also the leaves have the same kind of nasty chemical smell like the fruit tastes. Blech. They do make excellent hedges, though, since they tolerate heat and drought.

what's your weekend going to be like

It's going to suck since QoH is being her usual self. I watched the TUF finale last night. 2 of 3 fighters who I wanted to win did. Unfortunately Claudia Gadelha didn't beat Joanna. Claudia dominated in the first 2 rounds with takedowns and grappling but gassed herself out. Joanna has cardio for days and landed enough strikes in the third round to win it (although IMO Claudia could have won that round since she got takedowns and dominated at least half the round). Rounds 4 and 5 Claudia was just too exhausted and Joanna landed more strikes. Very disappointing outcome. At least Joanna kinda apologized at the end for being a dick and showed a little bit of class. I think Claudia earned her respect and scared her in the first 2 rounds with the way she was dominating.

Anyway, watched USWNT beat South Africa in a friendly and there's more UFC on tonight. I don't know what I'll be doing tomorrow. QoH wants to go grocery shopping but is all afraid because of the recent police shootings and rioting that's been going on.

There was a shooting in Minnesota and one in Louisiana then the guy killed 5 cops in Dallas. So all the other idiots seize the opportunity to get their 15 minutes of fame on TV so there have been "protests" in various cities. They had on in Miami that tried to go over the causeway to Miami Beach but the cops shut that shit down quick. The rich people on the beach side don't have to be inconvenienced like the rest of us peons. So much for equal justice under the law. Some animals are more equal than others.

Anyway, all this blm shit is getting very old. I read some statistics about police shootings. There were 1000 peeps killed by police last year. 27% were black, 17% Hispanic, and 56% white. 95% killed were males. I'm sure of the 73% non black peeps killed, some of them were under questionable circumstances, but no one squawks about those. White people aren't going to get upset if a white criminal gets killed by the cops, but the blacks in this country have been well trained to always see themselves as the victim and have this hive mentality. If a black person gets killed while comitting a crime they don't see it as a consequence or hazzard to being a criminal, no it's because the cops are racist and the criminal should have been allowed to commit the crime. ::rolls eyes:: /end rant

...particular goals like that.

Well, not really. I had kept those shorts (like a lot of wimminz do) because there's always the chance that I could be that slim again. They were in a drawer in the spare bedroom. I was looking for something else and found them. As a lark I tried them on and was shocked that I could get them on and actually zip them up and button them. So I wasn't actively working toward getting back into them, it was a bonus. ;P At least I now have another pair of shorts to wear. :)

The most shocking thing is those are Levis and that brand is notorious for not fitting wimminz with more curves and booty. Those ones actually fit properly in the waist without the gap in the back.

What are you aiming for next?

I've been doing a lot of situps, crunches, and obliques so I can have nice abs again. :)

And I was correct in my assumption that having your attention on the phone while walking around would lead to many injuries. I broke the glass on my watch while cleaning the bathroom.

I don't wear a watch anymore but I had a rule about never wearing it when doing manual work. It' just safer for the watch and its wearer.

But the damage is minor, as I understand it?

It's possible that it was a setup. If so, it looked authentic. This shit really is ridiculous. It makes going out around people even more annoying than usual.

Since I don't have a job any more, I've stopped wearing a watch just around the house. I had put it on to go out and run my car for 15 minutes or so. When I came back in, QoH was washing the bathroom rugs so I decided to clean the floor real quick. No good deed goes unpunished. :(

Yeah, the damage is about 11mm across the edge of the glass and maybe 2mm deep between 10:30 and 12. Kinda looks like half a gunshot hole. :/

I think the way the glass was set a little above the case made it susceptible. My old Sector watch's glass was bezeled IIRC. I bashed that watch enough that I'm shocked it lasted 16 years. I did manage to put a big scratch across it. I think this watch just had a cheaper quality glass. :/

Hmm, never heard of that one before. The sound of QoH's voice drives me to madness, though. Also I can't stand screaming babies, barking dogs, and "music" like rap and reggae with heavy bass that idiots like to play around here when they are having parties and it goes on for 5 or 6 hours at a time and I just want to destroy the source. Maybe I have that, too? Or it could be because I'm HSP (highly sensitive person). Have you ever tested for that?

For misophonia? No, not officially. But I'm well aware of how I feel when hearing typical things like eating and drinking noises or people humming (although that last one is mostly my mother). I assume many people dislike those noises but for me even a short exposure to them can make me just... angry. And of course I can't BE THAT ANGRY so I have to keep it in and put up a mask, be polite. Be socially acceptable.

it could be because I'm HSP (highly sensitive person).

The things you mention, I'm sure a lot of people find those annoying. Although I personally don't have a problem with screaming babies or barking dogs. Even loud music I can handle.

Unfortunately it was Bellator. I was reminded why I dislike that promotion. Too many fights looked rigged. I turned it off after the third questionable KO. Dude barely got grazed and fell to his knees while the other fighter raised his hands in victory and walked away. In a real fight the fighter would have continued striking until the ref stepped in. Not too dissimilar to Florida, I guess. Fewer hurricanesez. :)

My bedroom is still a discount sweat lodge though. That's what I get for sleeping right under the roof. Plus it's tough to get all that heat out of the house.

A couple of days ago, I also had an attack the pollenzzzz. Really wish I could do something about that. Maybe some sort of herbal tea?

You should be thankful for that. NL is very similar to FL in many ways, though. We had some LOUD thunder last night. Sounded like all he'll breaking loose. Now it's disgustingly humid outside. And hot. :/

Maybe. There are all sorts of concoctions that could help. Do you have one of those Oriental herbalist's shops nearby? They can make special blends for all sorts of things.

Mr. Trump

Meh. Like choosing between ebola and plague.

Building a wall is stupid. All they need to do is have border patrol actually patrol the border and uphold the laws already on the books. I'd make a better president than what's running currently. :)

But it's such a huge border. And if people can't go by land then they'll probably go by water, like the Africans do in the Mediterranean.

Sometimes if it's a big thunderstorm and it lasts most of the day. If it's a quick one in the afternoon it usually makes it worse. Worse humidity and then it feels steamy. :/

Is this the kind of weather that Floridians like to have parties in BTW?

No, some like to have hurricane parties, which I think is really stupid since hurricanes are very dangerous and should be taken seriously, not getting drunk and being a danger to yourself and others.

I always hated outdoor parties. There are bugs galore, the weather is unpredictable, and it's usually miserably hot. Then if it rains you have to scramble around trying to keep everything from getting wet. It's a real clusterfuck. People should have parties indoors where there is AC like God intended. ;P

Ma Nature has come a'callin'. Last night I bled like a stuffed pig. That hasn't happened in so long I can't remember the last time. I'm surprised I didn't wake up in a pool of blood. Holly lost. Booooo!!! It was a rather lackluster fight since both she and Valentina are both defensive counterstrikers and Holly had to be the one to go on offense. I had a feeling when they showed each lady in the locker rooms prefight that Valentina was going to win. She looked very focused while Holly looked pensive. Oh well. It was a fairly even matchup, though. Holly was very upset with her performance (which I have to agree that it wasn't very good) after the fight when she was interviewed. I'm not upset, though. A bit disappointed, but I don't dislike Valentina. I always liked her when she was fighting in the other organizations. And she was very gracious in her victory. I hope they give her a rematch with Amanda Nunes for the title shot. And I hope Holly gets another fight soon so she can get back to winning. :)

The fight between Melendez and Barbosa was really good. Barbosa has the nastiest kicks I've ever seen. I wish I could kick like that. The guy throws with power without projecting. Just BAM! Lightning quick.

Even Felice Herrig had a good fight even though I'm not a fan of hers.

Have you seen any good ones lately?

Not lately. The library is supposed to have Spectre in stock but it's been loaned out ATM.

I've been reading a new comic book "Witch Doctor". I'm quite liking it.

The guy throws with power without projecting.

Sounds like a good reason to keep some distance away from him.

We had my dad's birthday today. We had pretty good weather for it. Even though I sat inside in my room while everyone else sat outside. Apple pie was nice.

Ah yes, you father and QoH have back to back birthdays. Hers was yesterday but I totally forgot and didn't remember until after she had gone to bed. I figured she'd be all pissed off about it so I wished her happy b-day today when I got up and pretended like I had the day confused. ;) She didn't act too pissed.

How many peeps did you have over? I guess they're used to your antisocial ways by now. ;D At least you came out of your cave for pie. Was it freshly baked or store bought?

We had decent weather here today as well. :)

All of the peeps. All of them! Well, the ones that are still alive and in town anyway. ;P

Just store bought. My parents are too old and it was way too warm to bake one ourselves.

It's still too warm BTW. I'm starting to hate this weather.

Got any plans for the week?

No plans, but I did have to do some minor maintenance to the AC. I noticed that it was getting warm inside while the thermostat was set a little cooler than normal and I could hear a slurping sound coming from the closet where the unit is. So when I investigated the overflow valve it was completely full and making the AC shut off. So that usually means that there is shmootz clogging the drain pipe. So I had to dig out the wet/dry vac and lug it around back outside to clean the drain.

The drain is now cleaned out and the vac hosed off and taken apart so it can dry and I can put it back. It's freaking hot outside and now I'm sweaty. :/

Now I'm waiting for the house to cool down a couple degrees to the usual temperature.

QoH is watching the Democrat convention ATM. I can't take any more of that shit. It's never ending politics obsession around here with her. Makes me want to run screaming off a bridge. :/

It's kinda amusing, though, all the differences between the 2 conventions.

I don't like Hillary. I didn't like her when she was 1st Lady and I really don't like her now. She's one of the most (if not THE most) blatantly corrupt politicians I've ever seen.

there will be debates

Yep. They should be very entertaining as both candidates are very combative. I think the media colluded a bit as there should be good ratings.

Well, the ever loving QoH told me today that I'm the biggest disappointment of her life. I told her she is abusive and walked outside and told her I'm not going to reward her abuse by taking it and then doing something for her. She had the nerve to throw out her bs and then ask me to do something for her. Sick bitch.

Arekino, I'm sorry I didn't get around to commenting here until just now. I mowed the lawn and it was soooo hot that it took me 3 hours to finish with taking breaks and all, then I had to clean the mower and take a shower and eat some dinner. After all that, the heat and dehydration caught up to me and I got a smashing headache.

Speaking of the beast, I recently (2 days ago) found a buddy on the pd forum who is my age and in the same situation. I've messaged with her a couple times. It's early yet and I don't know much about her but it's nice to have someone else to bitch to. :)

My sister has gone on holiday BTW. She's on her way to somewhere in the north of Italy, I think. Her oldest son has stayed behind at home this year however. It will be interesting to see how he will manage to stay alive in the wilderness. ;P

Yes. It a regular girls' bitch session. :)

She's a newish member. Had less than 20 posts IIRC and became frustrated at other members who respond with the "move out/no contact" stuff. Well, I can totally understand being in a position where that is not possible because of a lack of friends and resources so I PM'd her and told her I totally got it since I'm in the same position. She was relieved that I reached out. So we've messaged a few times. Her situation is a bit different as she has a 14 y/o daughter living there as well and a grown 24 y/o daughter who IIRC doesn't live with her. I don't have the whole story yet. I think she's more your age than mine, though. ;P

Hmm, Northern Italy is quite nice, I hear. I wish I could join her. :)

When are you going to start going on excursions? ;)

Oldest nephew is a teen, yes? Must be nice to have parents who aren't overprotective and trust you to take care of yourself.

He's 18 ATM so legally an adult in this country.

Why? Is it that nice? Or maybe I might find a hot Italian who would want to keep me? ;P

YOLO Arekino-san! ;)

So are you a big fan of this fighter?

Yeah, she's the Legacy FC 125 pound Champion. A freaking amazing fighter. Her ground game is superb. I'm surprised the UFC hasn't signed her yet (although they don't have a women's 125 pound division yet). She'd have to fight at 135 or 115. I think she's a little too slender for 135 and too big to safely cut to 115. They really should do a 125. Lots more opportunity for average size women with that. And KGB is just a very nice person and has a great personality.

And my 3rd grade teacher that I had messaged on Feb actually messaged me back as well. She said she remembered me and that I was a good student. :)

Well, I think most anything would be nicer than my home situation. :/

Is she on Facebook then?

Yes, surprisingly.

How did you find her?

IIRC I was scrolling through the friends list of a teacher I had in school who is now the principal of the school. She used to run an alumni page which has since been taken down. I was looking for a friend from elementary school and ran across Mrs W on there. I was shocked that she was still alive first of all -she has to be close to 90 y/o- and that she was on fb. I just messaged her because she was my favorite teacher and her kindness and encouragement of my artwork meant a lot to me. It's too bad I couldn't have had someone like her for a mother. My life no doubt would have turned out drastically different.

Anyway, what are you up to with sis on holiday and all? Just entertaining your old peeps? ;P

No, it's not my job to entertain them. They entertain themselves.

I've been taking walks, trying to lose some weight and gain a little muscle. I'm trying to quit playing Warframe ATM. It's a tough habit to break. I've spend too much time and energy playing that game.

Anyway, I'm going to make some tea now (that is sometimes one of my tasks here, although it is of course a voluntary one)

Ah, gain a little muscle, huh? ;)

I just got finished having a screaming match with QoH. She interrupted while I was trying to reply here. She was ranting at me that I abuse her and it's all my fault that we didn't go to the store yesterday and that I'm deliberately uncooperative when she wants to make a grocery list. Well, any time she wants to make a list she can't stop her verbal abuse and ranting so I just walk away and then she gets pissed off I walk away and she labels that as being rude and obstinate. I funding hate that bitch. She's the one who starts the Bulls hit every day. No one has ever been allowed to do anything independently around here. She always has to call the shots. So my dad and I just basically learned to sit around and wait for her to make the decisions. So she gets pissed at me because I don't do anything but sit in my room. Well, that's me reacting to her behavior. She never will accept that people are just reacting to her behavior and trying to avoid conflict with her. But there is no avoiding it because you are damned if you do and damned if you don't. So me sitting quietly in my room sets her off and she labels it as me abusing her. How the fuck is not saying anything abuse? I was sitting here quietly taking her shit but I'm the one who is abusive? She's got a really warped way of seeing things. Real sick motherfucker. And wouldn't it make sense that after 40 years of her bullshit that I'd be sick of it and maybe show some sign that I'm unhappy with it? Well that is abuse to her. Because I "refuse to stand there like a normal person" I'm "beligerant". I think I'm very restrained in my behavior. No one else would put up with it. I only have because I was conditioned to accept it because that was all I knew. Now that I know she's pd and it's not normal and I don't just tolerate it and actually want to be treated like an adult, with respect like a normal human it's because I've "hooked up with dykes". Seriously, wtf? How does that even make any kind of sense? /end rant

trying to quit Warframe

Yeah, I know what you mean. I've been trying to cut down on reading ff. I haven't even looked at the new stories posted in a few months and when the ones I'm following now are finished I'm not starting any new ones.

Sigh, because she's a control freak and she needs me to stand there while she interrogates me on which items we need. Do we have this? Do we have that? etc.

Did you feel it was taking up too much of your time?

Sometimes. It's more of getting invested in stories and then anticipating the next installment. I think iirc I have 12 that I'm following atm. It's a bit much. And then if a bunch get updated at the same time it's a lot of reading and time consuming since I can get impatient and eager to read them all at once. Instead of reading fics which are for sheer enjoyment I could be reading at the pm forum and writing posts. Then my time can be beneficial to myself and others. It's nice when you reply to a post there and someone thanks you for a particular insight or tip that helped them. :) (much different than interacting with QoH :/)

I add some milk

I don't drink mine like that in spite of having British heritage. I guess drinking it straight is an American thing. ;) I only like milk with tea if it is chai or bubble tea.

Nope, cuz she can't get down the basement stairs where the spare fridge and freezers are. I do basically do what I want when I shop.

Good. An analogy I gave was well received and I got several compliments, plus I've been messaging with that one lady. She has found that helpful as well. It's nice to feel like I'm making a difference to someone even if it's just in a small way. :)

What about coffee?

I like to add a little coffee to my cream and sugar. ;P

In other news, my "uncle" died. Not really *my* uncle, he was my QoH's sister-in-law's husband. (QoH's 1st husband's sister's ex-husband) I always knew him as my uncle even though I'm not related. It's weird IMO that QoH was so close with her ex's family even after she was married to my paternal unit.

Anyhoo, "cousin" called this morning to let her know that he died like 3 days ago and the funeral was today. They live like a 7 hour drive from here, so it's not like we could get up there in time even if QoH was so inclined. QoH had been talking about calling up there to talk to him but she kept putting it off because she is the queen of procrastination. Now it's too late.

She had me on the computer for a couple hours looking up the obituary and cemetery and stuff and printing out copies.

And I just got finished watching the 1st USWNT olympics soccer game vs NZ. We won 2-0 naturally. :)

So her making a list is just for show?

Nah, I get the stuff on the list usually. Sometimes I buy stuff that I want, and sometimes she'll put something on there that I deem to be unnecessary so I just tell her they didn't have it. ;)

When did you last see him?

Probably 15 years ago at least, maybe closers to 20. I'm not upset at all. Even though he always seemed nice when I was a little kid, he very likely was NPD and treated his youngest son like crap.

Copies of what?

The obituary. I also looked up QoH's sister's obituary and it was still up after 5 years, so I printed out a copy of that too.

Is NZ really that bad?

They were trying to compensate by playing the ball aggressively with many hard tackles which resulted in many yellow cards and free kicks which we scored off. :)

Next we play France. I caught a bit of the France vs Colombia match. I shut it off after France went up 4-0. Le Sommer was a good player. The rest were just average IMO. After the Olympics the USWNT has a friendly vs your wimmin folk.

Yesterday I had to take back a watermelon to the store. 2nd or 3rd bad one I've got. I won't be buying any more. While we were out, QoH wanted me to buy some boards to replace some rotten ones around the roof. I had to shift almost a whole stack just to find 3 decent ones that weren't full of knot holes. And it was hot in there. :/

I ended up buying pressure treated since they were half as cheap as regular, but they were kinda wet-feeling so I have to let them dry out before I attempt to use them. I'm getting anxiety already just thinking of doing this project. QoH will be criticising and micromanaging my every move. :/

They likely were rotten, but they looked perfectly fine on the outside. This last one was nice and green and perfect looking. Then a day and a half later it started oozing green froth from a spot. By the time I took it back the next day, it was rapidly decomposing. Looked like something from a science fiction movie. ;P
