Victory is mine!!!

Finally! After weeks of playing that infuriating game, I have BEATEN the damned thing! *Without* using hints! So victory is mine and mine alone! Checkmate in thirty-four moves! I only lost a pawn and a knight(and only because I wasn't paying attention to what I was doing--distracted by Salem). Damn Black Queen took my White Knight(I *know* there was a fanfic about that ;P). Anyway, it was less of a slaughter than what I usually do. I took 7 pawns, 1 bishop, 2 knights, 1 rook, and 1 queen! Huzzah!

And another minor victory: I have been wanting some nice riding boots, but lets face it, I already have a few pairs of boots. ;P So I had been thinking that it would be cool to have some knee-high spatterdashes(aka gaiters) made out of something sturdy like canvas(in black, of course) or perhaps leather. So! I had searched the 'toobs, but couldn't find any for retail sale. On a whim the other night, I tried searching on some equestrian supplies websites looking for some nice riding boots once again, but what did I discover? What I had initially been wanting! Only they are called "half chaps" instead of spatterdashes(I guess peeps don't like that antiquated name). And I can get some for fairly cheap. I saw some nice leather ones for around $30.

Congratulations!

You think you can beat it a second time? :)

I have been wanting some nice riding boots

For actual riding? On actual horses? Or were you planning on riding me one day? ;P

Silly peeps. Splatterdashes is a much better name. :)

I went riding today myself, coincidentally. On the stationary bicycle in the attic/my bedroom. Managed to do 7 km in 20 minutes. Not great but I hadn't done that in a while. I really need to get me some more exercise.

Hell yeah! Woot! I was watching Halt and Catch Fire and it was nearly over, so I decided to try a quick game before Salem started. I was doing pretty good the first few moves in, then Salem started and it can be...well, a *very* distracting program. ;P So instead of pausing the game, I moved my knight--not paying attention to the fact that the Black queen could go diagonally and take it...DOH! Then, after that, I was *really* pissed at the careless mistake, but determined to pay attention and try to win. So I played during commercial breaks. I was doing *really* well, pausing and thinking of all the opposition's possible moves. I was even showing restraint in *not* capturing every opposition piece and allowing them to sorta run interference for me. Lo and behold, I was coming down to checkmating the king and I'm like, 'Holy shit! I'm actually going to win! And I didn't even use the hint feature one time!' and I actually maneuvered my pieces slickly enough that I *knew* how to get the checkmate! Woot!

Anyhoo, I just kinda did to the computer the same shit that it usually does to me. :) The only difference is, I pause the game so the clock isn't ticking and I can think without feeling pressured.

For actual riding?

For fashion purposes. I'm still not over not being able to buy those nice Italian made ones that I tried on before Christmas. Pisses me off that they make everything for skinny-legged bitches. ;P

On actual horses?

I'm rethinking my stance on horses. I think that the reason I don't like horses is because any time I was near one as a child some idiot adult would scold me. I think some exposure therapy wouldn't hurt. Maybe. Some day.

Or were you planning on riding me one day? ;P

I guess I'm busted? ;P

(BTW, riding crops are cheaper from the equestrian supply than from other sources, so I've discovered. ;D)

Silly peeps. Splatterdashes is a much better name. :)

Exactly! And knickerbockers is a much better name than draw-string capris. ;)

Managed to do 7 km in 20 minutes.

That's good I'm guessing? Much better than what I could do ATM. I haven't been on the stationary bike in much too long. I think I need to work on my endurance if I plan to ride you in the future. ;P ;P ;P

Too much muscle tends to gas out the cardio. :/ Can't be 'all show and no go'. That won't do. ;P

Has the weather been too shitty for actual rides?

Hey, you're not exactly... ehm.. fat-legged. ;P

Sure. And knickerbockers are similar to the plusfour, also called "drollenvanger" (meaning "turd catcher") in the Netherlands. :)

I think I need to work on my endurance if I plan to ride you in the future.

Ah? Hm, does that mean I'll have to work on my endurance as well (somehow)? ;P

Meh, it'll never happen anyway. :)

Has the weather been too shitty for actual rides?

Too wet and too hot, I would say. Plus lots of thunder and lightning. They had hail falling through roofs in Belgium.

Probably no need. What's that they say? Save a horse, ride a Dutchman...er, cowboy? ;P

Meh, it'll never happen anyway. :)

Meh to you! I have my ways. ;P

Same as here. No hail yet, just soot from the fire in the Everglades. :/

fire in the Everglades

That's like a hundred miles from where you live. You really get soot from it? Much be some strong wind over there.

We're having a heat wave over here. I'm practically swimming in my chair. Still found the energy to bake some cranberry cupcakes though. :)

Just me. Probably. Maybe some peeps in N Washington, Michigan, and Hudson Valley New York. ;P

Hey, I was looking through some old pics the other night and actually came across one of me on a pony. I think I was maybe 4 y/o at the time. It looked like it was taken at the Dade County Youth Fair. I was wearing cowgirl attire and a weird Santa Claus-looking coat. I don't remember owning such a thing. Obviously, it was back in the days where it got really cold here. I also came across one in the same envelope of me kissing a goat. I always did like goats. ;P

That's like a hundred miles from where you live.

It's not *that* far. Definitely less that 40. No soot here, but some peeps got some not too far from here. We *do* get some fairly strong winds, though.

It has been intermittently thunderstorming most of the day today. It'll come down in buckets then let up a bit, then come down heavy again. Not good for the old roof. Rinse and repeat all week. :/

I'm practically swimming in my chair.

I could literally go swimming out front in the street. :/

Must suck not having AC. Actually, I *know* it sucks. Lived that way too many years to think about.

cranberry cupcakes though. :)

Mmmm...sounds good! I was craving some cherry pie last night. I think I'll have to bake one. :D

How old is that roof? A bit of water shouldn't have to be a problem for any decent roof.

Definitely less that 40.

Are (forest) fires a common danger in Florida?

I could literally go swimming out front in the street.

Should make for some cheap showers. :)

It's still too damn warm here! Where's that snow when you need it most? Grrr.

Hey, the WC soccer (AKA football! :) starts today in Brazil. Will you be watching it?

IDK, 16-18 years maybe. It was done with the cheap shingles. Also, the roof design is poor. The pitch is too low and there is always issues in the valley where the two levels join together. All of the multi-level homes around here have the same problem with leaking in the same area. :/

Are (forest) fires a common danger in Florida?

No. We don't have many wooded areas. The Everglades is mostly grassland and scrub. It gets dried out during the dry season, then when the thunderstorms start up at the beginning of the wet season the lightning strikes get the fires going. Usually the rainfall eventually puts them back out again. It's only a problem if it gets too close to the homes built out west and if the fires are big enough the smoke is pretty disgusting if the wind blows from west to east.

Where's that snow when you need it most? Grrr.

The Alps? ;P

Will you be watching it?

Probably a few games of interest. ;P

Ya know what? QoH is scary. She is paranoid and watches me like a hawk. The other night when I was looking at old photos, she walked in on me(I was looking at them in the kitchen, I thought she had went to bed). She didn't make much of a fuss. Then today when I got up and went downstairs, she accused me of sending pics to someone online. WTF? She doesn't use my computer, she wouldn't even know how to turn it on let alone know who or what I see online. She's creepy as hell. I got paranoid myself and deleted a bunch of my own pics to the recycle bin. I'll put them back later when the dust settles. Pisses me off though. >:(

She just connected a few non-existent dots. I've seen my own mother do it as well. It's not that difficult.

Oh, don't let her get to you like that. There's no way she could get access to your computer. I assume it has a password?

BTW, could you list your 6 favourite witches? Just curious. :)

I only put a password on it a few months ago. Before, she wouldn't touch it to save her life, but she has always been very sneaky and a snoop, so better safe than sorry.

I don't recall if I had the laptop when her BF was here. I know I had the other computer password protected + installed the lock on my door when he was here. He would *definitely* be snooping while I wasn't around.

It just really pisses me off. It's none of her business what I do. She has no respect for my privacy or respect for me as an adult. Ya know, sometimes the truth slips out. I remember overhearing her tell my sister that 'she doesn't need a life' referring to me, when my sister was concerned about me never going out or doing anything years ago when I was younger. Also, when I was arguing with QoH one time and told her to stop treating me like a child, I'm a damn adult for Christ's sake, she told me 'You'll always be *the* child'. Well, fuck her! If she wasn't such a nosy bitch I wouldn't have to be so secretive, and if she treated me with respect like the adult that I am and didn't feel the need to criticize every move or decision I make, then I wouldn't have to hide everything that I do.

So which dots did *your* mother connect on you? ;)

BTW, could you list your 6 favourite witches? Just curious. :)

That's an unusual question. I don't know any witches personally. ;P

Witches...hmmm...like movies or TV witches? Or real life historical ones? And what would the definition be? Do sorceresses count?

Hmmm, I guess currently for TV, I like Mary Sibley from Salem and the one Julia Ormond plays on The Witches of East End(which will be back on this Sunday...Sunday is getting STACKED with TV shows that I like...good thing cable does encores). If we are counting sorceresses, then Regina is my favorite. Carol Kane in Princess Bride, even though she says 'I'm not a witch, I'm your wife!' LOL (In the book, she is definitely a witch. ;P) Jeez, this is hard. It would be easier if I had a list to choose from. Hmmm, maybe Grandma-ma from the Addams Family? Too bad I never watched Charmed, I know there were a few in that one...lemme see...Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy and someone else played witches in that silly movie, can't say they were my favorite, though...and Angelica Houston played a witch in something...Oh! I know! Michelle Pfeiffer played a witch in Stardust! I'll go with her as #6! ;P

I could have also gone with The Witch of the Waste from Howl's Moving Castle, but she was kinda annoying, or the one in Spirited Away.

And what do you plan to do with this information, my dearest Arekino?

Well, she's lying, obviously. You are an adult now and have been for some decades. In fact, your mother depends on you being an adult. She's just too blinded by her narcissism to see it.

I don't know any witches personally.

That you know of. ;P

Yes. Yes. I'm kind of counting on you to figure out the definition, you being an expert on the subject. :) . Is there a difference between witches and sorceresseseeesss?

And what do you plan to do with this information, my dearest Arekino?

I'll put it into a lage cauldron and stir it into a powerful broth. :P

Nah, I was just reading some old comicbooks with a story that had a witch in it that I liked (partly because of the very nice artwork and partly becuase she was such a bitch of a witch :). I just wondered what your opinion on these matters is. :)

When it's convenient for her. Then she likes the fact that I can do adult things. All other times, she doesn't want me to behave like an adult, what with all those pesky opinions and choice-making and such. >:(

Is there a difference between witches and sorceresseseeesss?

Just that 'witches' has the connotation of an ugly old woman, where a 'sorceress' has the connotation of being a sexy badass who does flamboyant magic. ;P

Oh, I totally forgot about Meg Foster as Evil Lynn(or however it was spelled)in the old He-Man movie from the 80's. Back then I was totally fascinated by her eyes--really light blue. I wanted that eye color. Brown is so boring. Of course, my eyes seem to have changed color a bit as I've gotten older. They have a grey rim around the irises and the color is sort of a dark greyish-brown canal water color. :/

Oh! I forgot that I kinda know *of* a real life Gypsy/witchy woman on a particular message board. She will put curses and hexes on peeps--for a fee of course, or if someone pisses her off. ;P

And a former boss of mine used to try to hex people by writing their name on a piece of paper and putting it in the freezer. I don't think it ever worked. So much bullshit. ;P

I have no idea. I didn't even know they were in this, that's how much anyone talks about soccer in this country. Usually they are good enough to qualify, but never good enough to beat any of the top tier teams.

I only get fired up when it's the Team USA women's team in the women's competition, I couldn't care less about the men's team, as I'll be cheering for NL all the way. ;D

Anyway, she should be packing up today. :)

Anyhoo, I was having an issue with my internet, but since it was an issue with the ISP, I called customer service and spoke to a lovely lady as is usual with this particular company, and after a few minutes, she had the issue resolved. So I'm back in business! :)

Is the weekend so different from the rest of the week in that respect?

Nah, just that the hormones tend to go wonky during my time of the month and it just so happened on a weekend.

How was Friday the 13th for you BTW? Any misfortunes? :)

No. Although it *may* have been fortuitous for the boys in orange as it was both Friday the 13th *and* a full moon. ;P

Of course, QoH wanted to go to the store yesterday. I was watching the Argentina/Bosnia game. She never got dressed to go so I kept watching the game. Then she got mad and said that she didn't get dressed because I was watching the game. Never stopped her before. Besides, that game wasn't important to me. Anyway, that was just a minor kerfluffle and didn't turn into a blowout.

I thought she was going to go today, but she went to go lay down. So I mopped the floor and called the customer service rep in the mean time.

Greeeeat, now she's up. I guess she heard me talking to the rep. So nosy. :/

Well, my lovely, things are very quiet. I went on a little trip around town in my car (after having recharged the battery - again). I also received the first of 3 comic-books I had ordered on Thursday. It's "De rattenvanger van Hamelen" by Fred Julsing. It's pretty old but the artwork is very nice. I'll be reading that later. I've been thinking about training my drawing skills again. Stylistically this book has some good examples for me to copy.
The other two books are "All You Need is Kill" - a manga - and "Aliens Vs. Predator - Three World War".

How have your reading experiences been lately?

Yeah, their first goal at 30 seconds in I totally expected to be the sum total of their goals. I didn't expect it to hold. I was surprised when they got the second one and actually won.

I went on a little trip around town in my car

Hey, is your car a manual transmission?(will explain below ;P)

I've been thinking about training my drawing skills again.

I was wondering if you were still doing drawings. :)

How have your reading experiences been lately?

Pretty good. There was an OUAT challenge on someone's tumblr so there were lots of new stories at the fanfic site. I've come across a new author that I like, well, I guess he's been around a while, but new to writing OUAT. He likes to do epics--like 10,000 words + per chapter. I happen to *love* epics. His stories are pretty entertaining, but the last one I read of his was a combination of zombie apocalypse and Groundhog Day--made for disturbing dreams last night. :/

Which gets me to my question about your car...seems to me it's best to find a stick shift to steal during the zombie apocalypse because, 1)better gas mileage and 2) you can do the push-start pop the clutch thingy if the battery is dead. That wasn't discussed in the story, I was just thinking of elements that I would add if I was writing it. ;P

Anyway, to go along with the disturbing dreams, there was some asshole revving a car very early this morning(like 5:30am)and helped wake me up. I *never* thought I'd fall back asleep.(QoH was up and making noise, too). :/

Okay, you're going to have to tell me about your dreams now. :)

Is that not possible with an automatic?

Yay! I like your drawings. They do not suck. :)

Okay, you're going to have to tell me about your dreams now. :)

Alrighty! First, let me give you some info on the story that I read. The premise is that the day starts at 8:15am. Regina and Emma are the only two who are aware of the Groundhog Day effect. At precisely 5:45pm, the town gets over-run by a zombie horde. Once both Emma and Regina get killed, the whole thing resets and they wake up at 8:15 again. It resetting had been going on for a week.

I really hope the guy continues the story as the concept itself is horrifying. It would *really, really* suck to be stuck in that loop. Oh! And the zombies can only be killed by the traditional methods--decapitation, bullet to the brain, bash its head in--magic doesn't work on them, so it sucks for Regina, although she *did* get some batting practice in with an aluminum bat. ;P Emma was all Highlander with her father's sword.

So! You can see how such a story got my hamster wheel spinning. I ended up having dreams about escaping this scenario. I was trying to gather food and supplies and steal a boat so I could completely avoid the horde at 5:45.

I was trying to round up rice and dried beans and canned meat and such, fishing poles and related equipment, sunscreen and long sleeved clothing(which makes me LOL, typical of me to remember the sunscreen ;P) and try to get all that crap in my car and down to the docks before anyone noticed the zombies and steal a sail boat(cuz fuel would likely NOT be available for long).

Then I was hoping that they wouldn't be like Resident Evil zombies that could go in the water. :/

Jeez, there's a lot of planning that goes into a zombie apocalypse. It's waaaaay worse than hurricane preparedness planning. ;P

Is that not possible with an automatic?

Nope. You are SOL with an automatic. :/

Even better than an automatic is a motorcycle with a small cc engine. Those get the best gas mileage.

Another thing that would be helpful against zombies is body armor. Ice hockey padding would be good. Also chain mail. And swords. A war hammer would probably work nicely, too. :)

The thing is, realistically speaking, a zombie is a dead human reanimated. Humans' mouths and teeth are not the best for biting. So unless you are swarmed by zombies, avoiding getting bitten shouldn't be a massive problem. Just my opinion. ;P

(Also helps if they are the slow moving staggering zombies, not the fast zombies. Fast zombies are the worst. Brrr)

I'm pretty sure all zombies can go under water. I mean, they don't breathe.

body armor

Yeah, I haven't seen that much in zombie movies. Which seems odd.

I suppose if you're being swamped with hundreds of zombies then armor isn't really going to matter. And from video games I have learned that it's better to have an offensive tactic than a defensive one, in general.

Fast zombies are the worst.

I'm not sure which ones are actually the most realistic though. On the one hand I wouldn't expect dead people to move very quickly but on the other hand the fast zombies are usually the infected type which means they could possibly be merely transformed by a virus or something. You don't see much of a connection with voodoo these days BTW.

Well, the A v P comic book arrived today. Dis gon be good. ;P

Well, in my estimation, there are three types of zombies: the reanimated corpse variety, the kind produced from a viral contagion, and genuine zombies--the kind made from having a neuro-toxin administered to them. I'm familiar with the third kind, because where I live there are voodoo practitioners as well as a couple ingredients readily available for making the zombie-producing potion. One is puffer fish venom, and the other is derived from the Angel's Trumpet plant.

It would seem to me that only the reanimated corpse variety of zombie would be able to go aquatic as they are dead and don't breathe. The other two types would still need to breathe. ;P

I haven't seen that much in zombie movies.

If I was to do a zombie story, that would definitely be an element. That chain mail that divers use when they swim with sharks would be ideal for defending against zombie bites. And those thick leathers for motorcycle riding would probably be good, too. Of course, a dive shop or motorcycle shop would have to be raided for those things. I don't know too many peeps who have those items just lying around. ;P

I have learned that it's better to have an offensive tactic than a defensive one, in general.

Well ya know what they say, a good defense is the best offense. ;P

A good plan + weaponry never hurts. I haz the good weaponry and a devious mind for da planning. :)

Ya know what's kinda funny--and this is a character flaw that I probably shouldn't be admitting to--but in an emergency I tend to go all Eric Cartman and look out for myself first, just like in my zombie dream. I don't do group dynamics very well.

fast zombies are usually the infected type which means they could possibly be merely transformed by a virus or something. You don't see much of a connection with voodoo these days BTW.

Correct. Even though the voodoo zombies are the only real ones. (voodoo zombies are the slow variety, though)

Let 'er rip! ;P

It's actually not great. Not bad either but a bit disappointing sofar.

They need to get their shit together

Yeah, they were pretty crap for most of the game. The referee wasn't exactly on their side either.

Oh, I think you mean the best defense is a good offense... Wait, you were kidding right? Nevermind. ;P

IDK, English is only my first language. ;P I'm blaming brain fog. ;D

You know this from experience?

Yes. I have a very strong self-preservation tendency. There was that time about 17 years ago when we had a small tornado tear off some of the shingles on our roof. It was in the middle of the night and I was awakened to the sound of all hell breaking loose, so I got up and removed myself to the safety of the basement steps. QoH got up a bit later and was pissed that I didn't come get her. That's probably the biggest example. I also have pretty good situational awareness and will remove myself from places where there is potential danger.

It's actually not great

Ah, that's too bad. :/

The referee wasn't exactly on their side either.

The reffing has been crappy as usual for most of the games I've watched.

BTW have you seen the video game EA Sports UFC?

I have now. ;P

Whereas I am more likely to go find that danger and kick it in the ass!

Not. ;P

This is becoming annoyingly and obviously more and more the case for this WC. >:(

I have now. ;P

But what do you think about it? Graphically it looks great but I have no idea if it's in any way realistic looking.

Temps look kinda perfect IMO.

Yep, they're very comfortable. :)

There's even a bit of a light drizzle now and then.

Are you planning any activities for the weekend? Do you ever get any visits from people BTW?

Slip out the back Jack... ;P

But what do you think about it?

IDK, I was never one for "sports" type video games, and I doubt that I'll ever own another gaming system. I'm just not that interested in games anymore. It's certainly more realistic looking than Mike Tyson's Punch-Out ever was. ;P

There's even a bit of a light drizzle now and then.

Better than these psycho thunder-boomer bliksem-flingers with driving rain we've been having here almost every day. :/

Are you planning any activities for the weekend?

Just supposed to go to the store in a bit--right after the crazy storm ends. >:(

Do you ever get any visits from people BTW?

Nope. It's like I don't exist. It makes me feel kinda shitty that I used to have friends IRL but none of them give enough a shit to remember that I exist and give me a shout once in a while.

Hanging out with me may be rubbing off on you. :)

Have you been studying up on your Dutch?

Really? There's nothing else to do? Pity you guys don't have a library over there. It's nice place to spend some quiet time. :)

Yeah, I think the same thing now and again but then I remember that I never give anyone a shout either. I guess relationships maintenance.

My sister's mother in law will visit her this weekend and my sister thinks it might be fun if we visit as well on Sunday. I don't really see the fun in that but I guess I'll go.

I *could* rearrange that sentence to make it naughty, but I have a massive headache ATM. :/

Have you been studying up on your Dutch?

It's just that I've heard 3 different Dutch guys say it on 3 different occasions in the past week. Any time I hear or see something at least 3 times I take notice. Seems like a word I needed to know. ;P

There's nothing else to do?

Oh, there's plenty to do, just that I'm not a fan of doing things alone, and most things require money to do them. Also, QoH is paranoid that if I leave the house without her chaperoning me at all times(even if I'm just going out in the yard)that someone will rob/rape/kill me(not necessarily in that order). It's getting ridiculous.

Pity you guys don't have a library over there.

Oh, there are actually 2 fairly close to where I live, it's just that they are always packed with the idiot moochers from around here using the computers or WiFi to look at porn or renting videos, or the welfare queens who drop their screeching spawn off there to use the place as free daycare. And the parking lot is always filled to capacity. They are hardly quiet or relaxing places to be.

I never give anyone a shout either.

That's the thing. I was always the one to try to initiate things. It pissed me off that it was always one-sided on my part. If the other party doesn't care enough or value me as a friend, why should I be the one putting all the effort in? And then I come across like I'm clingy or needy. Fuck that.

Seriously, the person who I used to consider my BFF...it's like I don't exist to her any more. I was communicating more with her husband and he was more a friend than she was. (BTW, there was no funny business there that she could be jealous of, he was not my type in any way) The irony is, two people who I literally haven't seen in over 20 years, I'll get Christmas cards from like clockwork. Unfortunately, they live in Texas and Vancouver. Both are genuine and thoughtful and I wish they lived locally.

I don't really see the fun in that but I guess I'll go.

I don't see the fun in it either. I guess it gets you out of the house? ;P

If you made too much noise over here you'd be kicked out of the library. They might even call the cops on you, I've seen it happen.

And then I come across like I'm clingy or needy.

Yeah, that does pose a bit of a dilemma.

I'll get Christmas cards from like clockwork.

I guess that's nice. Better than nothing.

I guess it gets you out of the house?

Yeah. :)

Well, I'm off to watch Germany vs Ghana. Have a nice day! (I hope you get well soon) :)

I can only guess it resulted from the stressful trip to the store with QoH last night. She can turn the simplest things into such an ordeal. It was one of those slow-building ones. I could feel it coming on just before I went to bed last night, but it kinda went away. Then I did a really stupid thing--had a tiny bit of sherry just before bed. So I woke up this morning with it banging. Took some ibuprofen and then QoH has to come give me the third degree for waking up late. I told her I had a massive headache and she tells me 'too bad'. Lovely, isn't she?

Anyway, the pills kicked in and I feel much better. And the swollen lymph node behind my ear that I had for the past 3 days has finally went down, so bonus there. At least it's not a tumor.

If you made too much noise over here you'd be kicked out of the library.

That used to be the case over here. Political correctness has run amok now and peeps are too afraid to say anything to the ones who abuse library privileges.

Well, I'm off to watch Germany vs Ghana.

I'm watching as I write. :)

Have a nice day! (I hope you get well soon) :)

Thanks! Have "fun" with your sis' MiL! ;P

A real Mother Theresa. Seriously. ;P

At least it's not a tumor.

Maybe it was one of those spider bites and all of the little spiderlings have crawled out on the inside into your brain. ;P

But yeah, always good to know it's not cancer. :)

I guess skin cancer is something to really worry about in Florida?

Have "fun" with your sis' MiL!

It was okay. I just drank a little tea with a stroopwafel, hung out with the kids a for bit and even helped put up a shelve in the garage. Oh, and I said hi to sister's MiL.

The Germany vs Ghana match was pretty exciting BTW.

I was thinking maybe the aliens or the CIA put some kind of microchip in my head. When I woke up the other day it hurt like a bitch!

But seriously, I've been eating a *lot* of mangoes recently and figured maybe that set something off. I looked up 'lymph nodes' on the 'toob and confirmed that there is indeed one behind the ear. It no longer hurts and has mostly gone back to normal.

I guess skin cancer is something to really worry about in Florida?

Mostly for peeps who work outside or spend a lot of time outside.

I just drank a little tea with a stroopwafel

That kinda reminds me of a funny pic that I was going to post, now I think I'll post it...all in good fun, ya know. ;P

Glad you survived it. :)

Germany vs Ghana

There is a place in Coral Gables called the Fritz and Franz Bierhaus where all the Germans/friends of Germans/fans of Germany gathered to watch the game and go apeshit. They showed it on the news. I always wanted to check that place out as I like German food(and beer ;P)but I'd need a designated driver to return me home safely(after too many pints). Did I ever tell you about the time I had a few too many at the Hard Rock at Bayside? ;P

BTW, I had another disturbing dream last night. Creepy old rich people trying to perv out on me. Brrr... :( That's what I get for watching that Secret Lives of the Super Rich program. Of course it couldn't be a dream about the guy up in Boca with the Star Trek house. >:(

Secret Lives of the Super Rich

Must be a better show than Secret Lives of the Super Poor though. Or the Secret Lives of Civil Servants.

I don't know. What happened?

So this happened at least 10 years ago, probably closer to 11 or 12. I went with my former BFF, her husband and kid(maybe 2 y/o at the time) down to Bayside in downtown Miami mainly to show it to her hubby.(He's from Western Canada and had never been before) BFF and I used to go there frequently when we were in HS and right after HS. We walked around a bit and after a while we got hungry and as it's Miami and super humid, I was thirsty and getting cranky, so I noticed a sign posted outside the Hard Rock for a lunch special. The HR is pretty cool with all the memorabilia and crap, so we decided to go eat there.

Well, it turned out that the special was only for peeps eating at the bar and since they had the kid with them, he couldn't eat at the bar. That kinda pissed me off as the main reason I wanted to eat there was because the special was a good price, now we had to dine in the regular area for the exorbitant regular price. >:(

At this point, I was about to lose my mind with thirst and all I could think of was ordering a nice cold beer. The waitress comes over and the first thing I ask her is what beers do they have. She told me of a special where you buy the souvenir glass which includes the first round, and then the refills are $2 after that. I think the glass held 20 ounces. So my brain started calculating how many I wold have to drink to even it out to regular going-out price beer which would be the first one and 2 refills, so I said okay and went for it.

I was pissed off about the whole not eating at the bar thing because of the kid and the two of them acting all holier than thou like 'Oh well, that's just Xul acting like Xul being naughty and a bad example' and then *they* go and order a big ass mixed drink to share. Kinda hypocritical IMO.

Anyway, I was going to enjoy my almost half gallon of beer. I nearly downed the first glass in one go because it was so hot, and then when the waitress came back with out food I ordered my second glass. By the time we walked(or stumbled, in my case)outta there, I was in a slightly better mood. (I get kinda silly with that much beer in me)

I proceeded to "silly" my way into the Warner Bros shop and be an even worse example to the kid. Then snicker and giggle myself the rest of the way around the place until we left. Good thing W was driving. ;P

Anyway, I didn't tell you exactly *why* that dream the other night was so disturbing. I think it had something to do with me watching the Brian Williams 'Baby Got Back' mash-up that Jimmy Fallon's peeps did and then watching the Super Rich program.

They were showing some new high-rise apartment building in Manhattan. It was super tall and skinny and all glass with 360 degree view of the city. It was at least 60 floors(waaaaay too tall for my comfort). So I ended up dreaming about doing a gig for some old rich peeps in that building and then the old lady was grabbing my ass as in *hard* and not wanting to let go. She was kinda obsessed with it. I wasn't too happy with that and protested. Then she wanted to proposition me into some pervy shit for many moneyzzz and I was considering it but then the even older hubby comes in and says something about having sex with me. Oh HELL NO! That's when I got the hell outta there. So gross!

Better a silly drunk than a mean one.

that Jimmy Fallon's peeps did

So you like Fallon's show then? I don't watch it a lot. Sometimes a clip on Youtube. It's an okay show, I think.

She was kinda obsessed with it.

Well, though I'm sure your ass is very grabbable and worthy of moderate obsession, that's kinda icky - to put it mildly.

Is there some sub-conscious fear in there of being forced into prostitution someday?

Oh, before I forget,

Victory is mine!!!

The Dutch won from Chili with 2 - 0. Not a bad game, not bad at all. :)

I never watch it. It's just that that particular clip was so good it made the rounds to other shows that I watch.

Is there some sub-conscious fear in there of being forced into prostitution someday?

I'd never do that. There are plenty of other ways to make a buck.

Victory is mine!!!

Yessss!!! :D

QoH was *really* pissed because I was watching the game and especially that I cheered out loud for both goals. Then she made some snide remark about the NL. I don't think she likes you peeps very much. :/

Too bad, though. I still wore my NL shirt to go to run an errand. ;P

And the ref wasn't that bad either. At least he wasn't fooled by all the Chilean players taking dives. They should go to a swimming pool, not a futbol pitch. :)
