Don't play with your food, dear.

Madness abounds on OUAT and also at El Castillo de Xul, so here's a video to go with today's theme. :)

Can I play with madness?

Give me the sense to wonder
To wonder if I'm free
Give me a sense of wonder
To know I can be me
Give me the strength to hold my head up
Spit back in their face
Don't need no key to unlock this door
Gonna break down the walls
Break out of this bad place

Can I play with madness?
The prophet stared at his crystal ball
Can I play with madness?
There's no vision there at all
Can I play with madness?
The prophet looked and he laughed at me
Can I play with madness?
He said, "You're blind too blind to see, yeah"
He said that you're blind to see, yeah

I screamed aloud to the old man
I said, "Don't lie, don't say, you don't know"
I say,"You pay for this mischief
In this world or the next"
Oh and then he fixed me with a freezing glance
And the hellfire's raged in his eyes
He said, "Do you wanna know the truth
I'll tell you the truth"
Your souls gonna burn in a lake of fire

Can I play with madness?
The prophet stared at his crystal ball
Can I play with madness?
There's no vision there at all
Can I play with madness?
The prophet looked and he laughed at me
Can I play with madness?
He said, "You're blind too blind to see"

Can I play with madness?
The prophet stared at his crystal ball
Can I play with madness?
There's no vision there at all
Can I play with madness?
The prophet looked and he laughed at me
Can I play with madness?
He said,"You're blind too blind to see"
Can I play with madness?

were there any sweets to be had for your mother's B-Day?

Apple pie with whipped cream on top. Not my favourite but not bad.

Same kind or different kind?

Can I play with madness?

I can't help thinking that this song was originally longer and less cryptic. Is Madness the singers imaginary little friend or does he actually want to play in the British band? Such riddles. :P

You're pretty old school WRT music.

I have been thinking about making a cherry pie. I just need to dislodge QoH from the kitchen for long enough to actually do it. I can't stand to have her around when I do anything, especially when cooking. It's nonstop 2-cents-adding and micromanaging otherwise.

Same kind or different kind?

Sometimes the same, sometimes different. It's a very surreal feeling. :/

Today at the acupuncturist's, she reported that there was another crazy nut in the office this morning screaming and yelling. Glad I missed that. :)

Anyhoo, she's very talkative. She was telling us about her husband who is a lawyer. I was sitting there thinking that the guy certainly sounds like he's a NPD just like QoH. It's a surreal thing to hear QoH criticize the exact things that she does. O.o

She is trying to make me mental. We went to Publix after the doc's and she goes into the whole time-slowing-down thing when she enters a store. Then buys a bunch of crap that we don't really need. Bought some lamb chops. So upon returning home, I asked her if she wanted me to fix the lamb chops now. She answers my question with a non sequitur. Then when I ask her to answer my question, she says that I am interrupting her thoughts ie interrupting the non sequitur. Hmm, I asked first before she even started talking, so how did I interrupt her? :O O.o

I think I'm going to break out my Cheshire Cat shirt that says "We are all mad here". :/

You're pretty old school WRT music.

You think so?

I really didn't listen to Maiden back in the day. I've recently developed a taste for them. I guess I've had to sorta retcon my taste in music. I never got to listen to the music of the era back when I was a kid. Now no one can stop me. ;P

Anything interesting happening on your side?

You seem to have a preference for music (dark/heavy/glam metal/rock) from a particular period in history (the eighties). I'd say that's pretty old school. Nothing wrong with that, of course. :)

Anything interesting happening on your side?

Besides the Russian Federation starting WW3 ? ;P

I've got this TV show called 'Suits' from the library. It's got some pretty good plots and dialogue. It manages to keep my attention.

I'm learning how to use Emacs, particularly its' org-mode. It'll be nice to make notes that way.

The honourable middle nephew seems to have developed some kind of mysterious rash. A salve has been dispensed and is most likely being applied as I write this.

What's interesting on your side? :)

Who you callin' old, buddy? ;P

I still huff in indignation when they play Metallica and Danzig on the "classic rock" radio station. Since when is that classic rock? Classic rock is supposed to be Led Zeppelin, The Doors, The Rolling Stones, etc. Harumph! ;P

Besides the Russian Federation starting WW3 ?

Our idiot president seems to think that Russia is no biggie and is but a wee regional issue. Fucktard. BTW, I never realized how tall Mark Rutte is.

What's interesting on your side? :)

They have the American version of Les Revenants on right after OUAT now. It's not as good as the original IMO. There is another new show that I like called Rake. It stars Greg Kinnear and also has Miranda Otto in it. It's on Fox. Fox tends to make the shows that I like...like The Following(w/Kevin Bacon)and Sleepy Hollow. :)

I have been outside for the past two hours at QoH's behest trying to pull up plumosa vines from the jasmine hedge. My hands are all cut up from the thorns now and my back hurts from having to do contortionist maneuvers to get to the damn things. Damn bastard things have the most impossible massive tangled root systems that find their way into the jasmine roots and everything else.

Ya know, it was kinda funny that my gardening attire today consisted of camo fatigue pants and my olive green Black Knight t-shirt. I had to crawl into the one hedge like a commando to get at the plumosa and then peeps walking by on the sidewalk had no idea that I was in there. ;P

Just as well, QoH has me do such idiotic things sometimes. She takes such pride in wasting hours and hours of hers and others' lives on lawn work. Like wasting your life on it is some point of pride or makes her better than others. Other people think it's just stupid when you could be doing something fun. QoH on the other hand HATES fun and loves to criticize people who don't spend every waking minute slaving away at some meaningless task. She really does have some effed up priorities. :/

Oh! Forgot! Last night either the House Elf or the Magical Pie Fairy came and granted my wish of a delicious cherry pie. :)

Okay, it was me. I made it. ;D

I thought it turned out really well for my first home made pie crust. QoH looked like she was sucking lemons, though. (Although she pretty much always looks like that. ;P) She almost never has a good thing to say but is always quick to criticize. Very well, more cherry pie for me! :)

Les Revenants

The local library has the French version but it keeps getting borrowed by other people.

a delicious cherry pie. :)

One of my favourite pies.

Some bad news, my mother had to go to hospital. Turns out she's had a very small stroke. She's had high blood pressure for years and she takes medication for it. They're keeping her at the hospital for the night. I guess things could get worse. I'm hoping the won't.

Ah, that's too bad. Sorry to hear. Not fun those things. I hope for her sake that she doesn't have any of the bad side effects like speech problems or paralysis cuz that really sucks.

You take care of yourself, too. I don't want to hear of additional casualties.

Nothing too serious yet. The right side of her mouth droops a tiny bit an she has strange feeling in her right hand and lower arm.

She came back from the hospital this afternoon. They've done all sort of test with her and put her on new medication. Pills to get her blood pressure down, thin her blood and lower her cholesterol (although that's not high)

You take care of yourself, too.

And you too, my dear. :)

I don't want to hear of additional casualties.

I'll keep them to myself.

Anyway, you're going commando in the plumosa peeping at sidewalk peeps, throwing cherry pies at QoH whose turning into a fun loving slave? Did I get that right?

Uhhhhh...something appears to be a bit off. ;P

I have to pop out for a bit, but I shall return and then tell you *all* about yesterday's events. ;P

So! Yesterday, I was just sitting here minding my own business when the phone rang. I let the answer phone pick it up as is my habit. I could hear from all the way up in my bedroom that it was my neighbor. She was apparently calling in the favor of me borrowing the mower thrice by asking if I could take her to the store. I ignored it and continued to do what I was doing. ;P

Then QoH comes up to my room to tell me what neighbor wanted. I said, "I guess I'll have to do it since she let me borrow the mower." QoH, being the control freak that she is, wasn't just going to let me take nabe in my car. Oh, no, no, no! *She* would be taking *us*. ::facepalm::

I *might* have mentioned something to the effect that 'this is really going to suck' and QoH got all huffy and started calling me all sorts of slanderous things, that I'm mean and self centered and spoiled, yaddy-yaddy-yaddy. ::rolls eyes:::

Nabe wanted to go to either Winn Dixie(because they allegedly had yellow squash on sale)or Walmart. Walmart is closer but we decided to go to Winn Dixie anyway. Of course, when we get there, QoH decides to wait in the truck and I had to go in with nabe(like I'm a chaperone of something). Turns out the aforementioned squash was all gross and fit for the trash bin so she didn't buy any. Then she wanted to go look at some soup, but then decided against it, so off to Walmart! (Should have just went to Walmart to begin with.)

Once at Walmart, QoH decides she's up for going in, too. Ugh. It actually wasn't that bad as QoH for some unknown reason didn't take as long with her shopping as usual(funny that).

Did I mention that we all went in QoH's truck? Yeah. That meant that I had to squeeze myself into the cramped bench seat in back of the regular seats. And since QoH always has to carry around a bunch of crap in the vehicle, this meant I had to sit behind the nabe who has funky B.O. And the stimulating conversation was QoH ranting and nabe answering with 'Wow', 'Oh', or 'Okay'. ::Ugh::

The last torment was stopping off at Presidente so I could get an ad for QoH and pick up some sale items. Mercifully, I was allowed to go in by myself since QoH doesn't like to go in there and nabe doesn't shop there. I don't know what the problem is. For one of the indy low budget supermarkets, they keep the place pretty clean and you can get the best deals on produce and some other things as well. The stuff isn't always first quality and you have to be selective, but I've never had a problem with the clientele(The place is run by Hispanics of some variety and the customers are mainly Haitian, Jamaican, Caribbean assortments or various Hispanics).

When we got home and unloaded, let's just say that I have been having some digestive issues lately, probably from eating too much pasta and white flour products. :/ I drank a glass of water with Epsom salts dissolved in it to try to ease things along. I got impatient and decided to take matters into my own hands and resorted to more drastic measures. :/

Managed to get that problem sorted out but then later that evening the Epsom salts started working. :/

Let's just say that I resolved to go back to my previous diet which included more salad. QoH went to bed rather early for her, so after she did, I made myself a massive salad and ate that. I think I'm going to do that again tonight as irregularity is not fun and I do not wish to continue having that issue.

Tried to keep the TMI to a minimum. ;P

Why? Reverse psychology?

*She* would be taking *us*. ::facepalm::

Did your reverse psychology backfire? ;P

didn't take as long with her shopping as usual(funny that).

Must have been nabe's piercing eyes on her back. ;P

resorted to more drastic measures.

More drastic than Epsom salts? What's that? Linseed?

Or did you literally "take matters in your own hands" and went "spelunking"? :D ;P

a massive salad

That's good and healthy. You should make sure to drink enough though. Especially since the days are getting warmer.

I didn't feel like dealing with her just then and hoped ignoring would make the problem go away.

Did your reverse psychology backfire? ;P

Ignoring didn't make it go away, add QoH to the mix and the situation gets exponentially worse. :/

More drastic than Epsom salts? What's that? Linseed?

Flushing it out if you catch my drift. Second time in two weeks. I am *never* letting such things happen again. Felt like giving birth out the wrong pipe(as I would imagine it to feel). I can count on one hand the number of times I've had that problem in my entire life. This time I really mean it. No more eating junk.

Actually, I think it might have been the remains of that dead flying monkey. Now we know where the witch hid the body. ;P

That's good and healthy. You should make sure to drink enough though.

Eating salad two nights in a row had everything moving once again. I was back on schedule today with a prize winner. ;P (Yeah, that's kinda gross, sorry! ;P) And I always drink plenty of tea or water throughout the day. :)

So how's your mom feeling? Still wonky or did they give her some meds or something? Does she have to do any physical therapy?

An enema? Never had one of those. Seems a messy business.

So how's your mom feeling?

As far as I can tell she's doing okay. She doesn't seem to have suffered any mental damage.

did they give her some meds

Yes. And she's supposed to get some physical therapy, I think. In a couple of weeks.

So have managed to make your weekend fun? I suppose you're looking forward to tomorrows' episode. Didn't you have a gig at the end of March? Or am I making that up? :/

Hey, I'm going to upgrade the operating system on my little laptop. If I seem unusually quiet then it may be because I've run into some problems doing that.

An enema?

Bingo. It's not fun. I did it in the shower to contain the mess. I *was not* having a good time shopping with the two idiots. All I could think of was getting home to take care of business. And I couldn't tell QoH because I'd just receive a lecture. That's why I drank the Epsom's first cuz that usually does the trick. But I was desperately uncomfortable so I ended up going for a "shower and shampoo" earlier than I normally would to give myself cover for what was *really* happening. Ugh.

So have managed to make your weekend fun?

I've found myself a long-ish story to read. I've been going through my favorite author's favorite stories lists to find interesting reads. :) I get better quality ones than just picking randomly.

And yes, I *am* looking forward to OUAT tomorrow. Regina calls one of the monkeys a "flying freak" so the promise of Regina Sass is always something to look forward to. ;P

Other than that, I don't have any plans.

I think the thing for the end of March got cancelled or something. :/

Anyway, have fun storming your OS! ;P ;D

Ah, long stories are the best. Just give me a novel of about a thousand pages and I'll be happy for days or weeks even. :)

the promise of Regina Sass is always something to look forward to.

Dammit. I wish OUAT had already started here. :/

I think the thing for the end of March got cancelled or something.

Oh well, too bad. Do you have any other gigs planned?

The social services guy gave me his work email address last time I talked to him. So I used this opportunity to send him a letter offering him my opinion on his plans for me. It is a very calm and polite letter. I'm sure he's not a bad guy, just inexperienced and maybe a little arrogant.

Woot!

Ah, long stories are the best.

I managed to get through this one in the course of two days. Maybe six hours worth of reading? It was probably one of the best fanfics that I have read even though it was written right after the season one finale. It was, at the time it was written, speculative that everyone would return to FTL after the curse broke. It was reeeeally good in a Game of Thrones kind of ruthlessness way. It was more realistic from a medieval sort of way of life. I enjoyed it very much. There are some excellent amateur authors out there.

I'm looking forward to one in particular who writes these massively long chapters. She only has two stories written, but the one I'm awaiting the update for is for a OUAT story. She does epic 20,000 word chapters so it takes a while to get them written and then for the Beta to proofread everything. This is the story that gave me the idea for my own side story. :)

Dammit. I wish OUAT had already started here. :/

I wasn't too keen on the first half of season 3 with the Neverland crap. Ever since Lily Sparks called it "bushwhacking through the Home Depot garden department" it just made me LOL and wish it would finally end. The season 3B stuff with the WW is *much* better.(And Lana Parrilla seriously needs that Emmy NOW!) The writers seem to have gotten their act together. I'm hoping all the grousing from the fandom inspired the change. It is *very* exciting at this point, so much so that I can hardly wait for the next episode. :)

Do you have any other gigs planned?

Something in May.

I used this opportunity to send him a letter offering him my opinion

I had been wondering how that situation was. Do you think they'll still try to push you into some group activity? Or get some mind numbing job? You should tell him that the best therapy would be a Florida vacation. ;P
