Thing #13,389 that QoH does that annoys me

First, I would like to say that I have a habit that I got from my sister.  Her room mate had an annoying habit of getting a fresh glass anytime he went to the kitchen for something instead of reusing the same one throughout the day.  This led to a massive glass collection all over the bedroom.  My sister used to complain about that all the time.  But it makes sense, no?  Just use the same glass throughout the day and then you don't have to wash a bunch of glasses by the end of the day.

So!  Last night, I washed all the dishes.  QoH gets up to a clean kitchen.  So by the time I'm ready to cook dinner(around 6pm), how many things that she used do you think I had to wash before I had a clean kitchen in which to prepare dinner?

- 5 plates
- 7 bowls
- 3 glasses
- 1 colander
- 1 pot + 1 lid
- 1 frying pan
- 1 cutting board
- 27 utensils (various knives, forks, spoons, spatulas, tongs, etc.)

By contrast, after my two meals I had dirtied 2 small plates and 2 forks.  I reused my same cup from the previous night.

This is a regular occurrence by the way.  It just got to me today because of the especially high number of items used.  It's not unusual for her to use at least 5 times as many things as me. She bitches if I don't wash the dishes at night even if it's only a few items, but if I have to wash a shit ton of dishes just to be able to have a space to fix dinner, then I shouldn't complain.  Isn't it nice to be a PD?  You get to enjoy double standards!

Anything new and exciting for you?

I've caught an exciting new cold. Hopefully it's not MERS.

But it makes sense, no?

Yeah, that's how I always did it when I lived alone. Nowadays, my mother would complain if I did things that way and we do have a dishwasher so, meh.

It just got to me today because of the especially high number of items used.

Can't you pretend to be really sick or something?

That sucks. It's no wonder, though. You seem to get around an awful lot in my dreams. You didn't seem very sick last night. ;P

Can't you pretend to be really sick or something?

You've obviously never lived with a NPD Holy Sainted Martyr like QoH. If I'm sick, even legitimately so, she has been sicker. If I complain about a pain, she has one too, only much worse. And she pushes herself to keep going. *Every day* is a struggle! Ugh.

I'm so tired of hearing about how she always has/had it worse. I just try not to say anything anymore. I'm tired of hearing about how she is so tormented. I just don't care. I can't stand to hear a perpetrator play the victim. After nearly 40 years it is incredibly old.

How is it that you are sick again? It seems like you get something new every month. Do you even have an immune system? Maybe you need one of those plastic bubbles to go around in? Or an encounter suit like what's-his-face from Babylon 5? Sigh. Feel better, eh?

I was just reading this thread at the PD forum when a light bulb went on. It made me think of something my Arekino said about the correlation between Ma Nature's visits and massive rows with QoH.

Hmmm, you are very clever Arekino! I'm going to look into the pheromone angle as causation/exacerbation. I think I need some of that Swimming With The Sharks spray.

It amuses me that it's witches that run that website.

Oh! Ya know what else amuses me? Some arsehole just called the house a few minutes ago. I let the answerphone pick it up. The dude wanted to speak to Mr. & Mrs. Xul's Real Last Name(which would be Xul's parents). That had me nearly doubled over with laughter. The poor bastard obviously has no idea what he's asking for. Do you really want to speak to both of them at the same time?!? ROFLMAO

Oddly, yes. Must be a change in climate or something. I'm not the only one this time. My parents seem to have caught the same cold.

Do you even have an immune system?

Well, I still get better so I guess there's still a remnant of an immune system left. :)

we were discussing the finer points of baseball.

Were we arguing about about something or were you teaching me something? I'm not exactly a baseball expert.

Also, baseball is kinda Freudian. Although I suppose sometimes a bat is just a bat. ;P

Some arsehole just called the house a few minutes ago.

Was he looking to sell something?

My last 2 physical altercations with QoH both happened on the 4th day after Ma Nature's arrival!

So you think there may actually be a significant correlation? To be clear, I was thinking about exacerbation rather than causation. I assumed you mother is a full-time narcissist.

Your mother doesn't get her period anymore does she?

I think that is actually quite common. We don't have real seasons here, just wet season and dry season, so it's usually those who travel who bring viruses and colds and whatnot and spread them around.

were you teaching me something?...Also, baseball is kinda Freudian.

:D Yes and yes. I was being my usual self all full of innuendo and double entendre. ;P

I was explaining that you don't have to be a home run hitter to be a good baseball player. And that if you are going to second, make sure you touch first base or else you'll be called out.

Also, I'm not a power hitter by any stretch of the imagination, but I have a very good on-base percentage and excel at base running and turning singles into extra bases. ;P

And I find hitting a ripper into the corner and going for the infield home run and sliding home beating the throw at the plate much more exciting than a lead-off homer.

That last bit doesn't hold much innuendo, just my personal opinion. ;P

Was he looking to sell something?

I suppose. There was no name or number on the caller ID and the guy didn't identify himself or what he wanted. That will guarantee that I will not pick up the phone.

So you think there may actually be a significant correlation?

If it happens again the same way it will look like more than a coincidence. I think the pheromone angle could be a plausible explanation.

I assumed you mother is a full-time narcissist.

She is, yes. And co-morbid with OCPD with some PPD thrown in. :/

Your mother doesn't get her period anymore does she?

Oh no. She stopped like 15-20 years ago. I don't recall exactly.

Which days does Ma Nature hurt you the most?

The absolute worst is the uterine contractions when it's shedding the lining. It feels like getting stabbed with an ice pick. I'll spare you the other details. Also I get some dull lower back pain and it will travel down into my quads.

Some times are worse than others. I think there is a weight correlation. If I stay below 120 pounds(in the 115-118 range)it seems like I have fewer problems.

Ya wanna hear something funny? I bought myself a cheapo body wash at Walmart last week just to try it out since the soap that QoH buys tends to dry out my skin. The new stuff doesn't get very sudsy and the scent doesn't linger, but it *does* make my skin very soft. :) Also, QoH hasn't been as bitchy since I started using it. So I am wondering if there really *is* a scent angle to everything?

OMG, I had the *weirdest* freakin' dream last night! There was this dude who looked like Sam Neill living in the neighbors house(those douchebags didn't live there in the dream..too bad it was just a dream ;P)and he was kind of a scientist/explorer. He was making all these weird flying contraptions. I needed money for some repairs around the house, but for some reason in the dream gold=money so Sam Neill was telling me about a place where I could get gold. It was this creepy island called Tor and I think it was somewhere near Indonesia, except that the island itself was all rocky and deserted and looked like something from the South Pacific or near Antarctica. It was really barren, rocky, but not really mountainous with high mountains, they were kinda low. I explored it a bit and came to a hidden area and then all of a sudden there was this massive area of bizarre-looking carvings surrounding an entrance to go into the mountain side. It was creepy as hell and looked like something straight out of The Call of Cthulu. I woke up after that. Brrrr.

Yeah, sometimes you get a really weird number or all zeros. No way I pick up that phone.

but it *does* make my skin very soft.

Eeeeeeeexcellent.... ;P

The end of the world? Has someone opened the hell gate in your house? Quick! Check the toilet for a sulfury odour. That's a sure sign! ;P

There's something called Tory Island but that's near Ireland. Sort of fits your description though.

Sounds like an interesting place. Pity you didn't get to see what is inside. It sounds like an adventurers dream.

Yes! It certainly seems so. I'm fairly sure that QoH is Satan's sister, and there are all sorts of creepy creatures and plagues(eg locust, frogs)around the yard.

Check the toilet for a sulfury odour.

You don't want to check QoH's toilet. ;P

There *was* a nasty odor outside, but it was because it rained the past couple of days and I had a garbage can full of leaves that got filled with rain water. Makes a nasty marinade in the sun. :/

Was that a first?

No, just a very, very rare occurrence.

It was. Creepy, though. Too bad it wasn't real. I could really use some gold. ;P

I was, yesterday. From 15:00 pm to 21:30 pm. It was a quiet afternoon. We had pizza for dinner. That's about it.

Your sis been having any adventures lately? Your old peeps? ;P

Well, they went to a 50 year wedding anniversary yesterday. I'm not sure I'd call that adventurous though.

Today I had a few hours alone time as my parents went to do some work in the vegetable garden. That's always nice. :)

I'm watching Futurama reruns ATM.

And how are you making it through the weekend?

Must've been nice. :)

And how are you making it through the weekend?

Ma Nature arrived yesterday afternoon but took her time getting settled. She woke me up at 5am by stabbing me repeatedly in the uterus with an ice pick(that's what it felt like, anyway). I went to the bathroom and took more ibuprofen and then went back to bed. I didn't wake up until nearly 1pm. :/

I've been trying to keep a constant amount of ibuprofen in my blood stream to keep any pain at bay. I haven't really had any since the rude 5am wake-up call. I fixed myself some chamomile tea when I got up as that's supposed to be good far my lady-parts. Always an adventure with Ma Nature. :/

The bloody leak in the roof has returned. I think QoH wants me to go up there and patch it again. I'm not exactly feeling up to it ATM. Maybe later when it's not so hot.

I just finished watching Hitchcock's Psycho. I can almost hear the violins screeching now. ;P

The trailer for that movie is pretty hilarious BTW, as is the movie here and there but that's just because it's ooooold. :)

I fixed myself some chamomile tea

I'm really digging the chamomile tea these days. I drink about 3 cups per day, with eucalyptus honey for sweetening.

Always an adventure with Ma Nature. :/

Aww. Well here's a big hug for ya' : HUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGG! :)

I'm not exactly feeling up to it ATM.

Plus it's probably not a good idea to climb a roof while doped on ibuprofen. You might fall off. :(

The local library finally had that superman movie Man Of Steel today. I'm gonna watch that later. I hope it's good.

Anyway, try not to get into a fist fight with your mom. (But if it's unavoidable, win it! :)

I'm going to have to buy some the next time I go to the store. Tea used to be a job benefit(wink, wink), but since I haven't worked at that one particular place for years now, my stash is down to 2 bags(I still have some other flavors). I'll have to check the mark-down tables...one time I scored a bunch of different teas marked down to $1 each. They weren't expired or anything, it's just something the store does when it gets new stock. BTW, chamomile is the magical ingredient in that body wash that I bought. The 2 main scents are that and freesia. :)

Well here's a big hug for ya' : HUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGG! :)

Thanks! :)

Hey Arekino, you really are a man, right? Because QoH started some crap with me yesterday about how I get nasty when I've "taken up with a dike online". LOL So I'm just checkin' since you're the only person I actually talk to on the toobs. LOL

For the record, I've never "taken up with" any lesbians. CB was not one even as much as QoH wants to insist that she is. The woman freakin' bragged about outing fellow soldiers back when the military still had DADT. Not exactly something a gay person would do. And dating men. I'm fairly sure that lesbians don't date men. Sigh. QoH just can't stand when I find my backbone and contradict her in any way. If I do, then I'm mean and nasty and hangin' with lesbians. It's all just so crazy-making. :/

probably not a good idea to climb a roof while doped on ibuprofen. You might fall off. :(

I did anyway. She wanted me to go up there and I told her it was too hot ATM, and then a few hours later she attacked me with all that nonsense. Actually, she said all that "dike" crap after I objected to her following me around and micromanaging. And the *really* fun part was dragging out the ladder and all the other crap while having cramps and then the damn ladder wouldn't cooperate(the foot got stuck and the rope to extend the thing got stuck)and it led to me cussing a blue streak.

try not to get into a fist fight with your mom. (But if it's unavoidable, win it! :)

I am watching out for the set-up. I'm trying to use some techniques that were discussed on the PD forum for when the PD tries to bait you. If she puts her hands on me, I'm going to use some good old fashioned joint-lock techniques. I'd love to put her to sleep with a rear naked choke. ;)

Anyway, I watched a very boring vampire movie called Byzantium and a movie with stuffy old British peeps called Quartet. That one was actually pretty good. Billy Connolly was in it and he was funny and Maggie Smith was also in it. I actually managed to get through Silver Linings Playbook after several attempts over several days(many QoH interruptions). It was okay but I don't see why peeps made such a fuss over it. And I don't understand why women think Bradley Cooper is so hot. He's kinda funny lookin' IMO. :/

How's your fickle Dutch weather? It has been weird here. It got down to 67 degrees the other night then back to hot the next day. Now it is windy. And it has been unseasonably dry rain-wise and not too humid.

That's weird. Why would she ignore the possibility that you're hangin' with straight dudes on line?

Oh, wait, she thinks it's a weakness of yours of course. She's using the threat of humiliation to get you to work for her. And if that doesn't work she'd probably escalate the situation. Damn, she's nasty. :/

He's kinda funny lookin' IMO. :/

You're just in denial of his hotness. ;P

The Man Of Steel movie was okay BTW. Not super but watchable.

And a wonderful one, at that! :)

No. Sorry! ;P

Why would she ignore the possibility that you're hangin' with straight dudes on line?

When she started with her BS, I said to her, "Why? Are you jealous?" That got her a bit flustered. I actually meant it as she acts like I'm her spouse or something and she can't stand not possessing me 100%, but it could also have been taken the way she took it. ;D

I'm getting better with the comebacks. The last time she did the "*Huff* *scoff* That guy is checking you out," routine, I replied, "Well, I can't blame him. What's not to like?" and that shut her up. ;P

The next time she calls me 'genius' or 'you act just like[my father]' as an insult, I'm going to tell her that that insult is getting old and can't she come up with a new insult? ;)

Damn, she's nasty. :/

You sound just like my father. ;P ;D

You're just in denial of his hotness. ;P

No. There's no hotness there. He's Antarctica to me. :/

It's always the same old hackneyed crap like a broken record. It seems to be a common trait. There was a thread on the PD forum the other night about how PDs always repeat the same stories over and over even with the same wording like they are reading from a script.

So you think he looks like a penguin? Hm. ;P

He looks like a git. At least penguins are kinda cute. And ex-Penguin Jaromir Jagr was my main honey back in the day. ;P

Not a word.

Good. He should stick with shuffling around paperwork. ;)

Yoga wouldn't be too bad. I could do yoga.

They used to have a program on the TV here years ago called Wai Lana Yoga. I used to follow along to it. It could get really physically demanding at times. It's really good for your core muscles. I'm still in good enough shape to do head stands, neck stands, and plow position. The latter 2 are really good for stretching out my back(business I'm in is rough on it).

I used to make fun of my friend C for doing Pilates as that has the 'aging suburbanite housewife' connotation to it, but then there was a program with a woman called Karon Karter that I started watching a couple years ago and I started doing it while watching. Turns out it's a *really* good low-impact workout. It can kinda kick your ass in a really nice way. :)

I've been virtually walk-less while I was feeling sick.

Are you feeling better now? Maybe some huuuuuuugs and a kiss to make it better quicker? :)

I'm not into that kind of thing anyway.

But you wouldn't mind every once in a while? ;P

And is that what you're doing? Whatcha' readin' ?

Yup. Mostly the updates to fanfics that I'm following. One of my favorites was recently updated after a very long wait. The author mentioned an update back in February IIRC but then there was never an update. I got curious as I check the feed just about every day. I somehow missed it at the end of April. Apparently, there was a death in the family and other issues that got in the way of writing. It was worth the wait, though, as this writer does super loooong chapters--like 20,000 words each--so I got a good long read from it. :)

I think she is the absolute best fanfic author I've read as her story lines and characters are very realistic and true to life.

Besides, I think I'd enjoy reciprocating. :)

:D

Ya know, I wouldn't even be that upset over a pillow prince. I have such confidence in my abilities that it would be an ego boost. I like taking the lead and running the show in that area anyway. (As I imagine it ;P)

Maybe I should set up a tent in the backyard. :/

Does it get cooler at night where you live? Because in the summer here, the over-night temp barely gets below 26.5 C degrees and that is just waaaay too hot for sleeping.

Also, are you allowed to have outdoor fires like in a fire pit of a chiminea?

Which reminds me, it's Memorial Day weekend here, I should take out some steaks and stuff for grilling. :)

For a while now I have wanted to do a real camping trip up near Ichetucknee Springs. I'd rent a cabin at O'Leno, catch a ride to Ichetucknee, float the length of the Ichetucknee until it flows into the Santa Fe, and then be back at camp since O'Leno is on the Santa Fe. Also do some snorkeling in the actual springs as I never got to do that before. The tube ride down the river is seriously relaxing, though, and ya sleep like a log afterward. ;)

I think I'd have to spend at least a week up there since I'd want to do some hiking and exploring as well. :)

I think t actually gets cooler outside than inside at night. For some reason the heat doesn't leave the house much. But if I open a window I'll get sucked dry by gnats and other critters. Its a bit of a dilemma.

We're at least allowed to have these kind of "fire baskets".

My big ol' smug ego. Or delusions. Of course, they wouldn't be delusions if they turned out to be true. ;P

:O

I have heard of this phenomenon from Americans who have lived abroad. I guess it's all that stone and concrete holding in the heat. And the lack of window screens...this just blows our minds over here...if we didn't have screening--especially in Florida--the houses would be stacked floor to ceiling with critters. :/

It might be a good idea to not go there on your own.

I wouldn't go anywhere on my own. I'd get too bored. I like to have someone to pester, torment, banter with, snark to, and help keep me entertained. ;P

My nabes across the street have family who live a few miles from there. They allegedly have many acres of property. If I ever went up there, I had considered asking them if I could camp in their yard(to save on camping fees). Of course, their mother is bipolar and would likely be bothering *me* if that was to happen, so the cabin idea still sounds good. ;P

So, nothing particularly exciting happening with you?

Oh, and I forgot to add ^^up there^^ that the mind doth boggle at the lack of air conditioning in you folks' housing and buildings in general.

Ya know, I think I need to move to Maine. The weather is still nice and cool up there and there are Lobstersezzz! (and waaaay fewer peeps than down here)

I think that's actually called "getting lucky". ;P

I guess it's all that stone and concrete holding in the heat.

Great in winter, less so in summer. Although... I've heard about buildings with even thicker walls that are actually cool all year long.

the houses would be stacked floor to ceiling with critters.

Well, you do have lots more types of critters over yonder. :)

nothing particularly exciting happening with you?

No. :)

And you? :)

I hope they turn out okay.

I'm sure they will. Trust your intuition. :)

I think I need to move to Maine.

I'd stick to the southern coast if I were you. It can get as cold as 0 degrees F. :O

::rimshot:: ;P

And you? :)

I forgot to mention that there was a helicopter circling the area last night. Usually the cops do that if they are on a manhunt. But then I could hear intermittent explosions. I was like WTF? and went to go out back to check it out. QoH didn't want me to because she is paranoid about everything, but I went out anyway. I could see flashes of white light intermittently in the sky and the helicopter was circling while shining a spotlight. I assumed that there was probably a problem at the electrical substation, because if it was a house fire, there would be red/orange flames and smoke.

Anyway, as nosy as QoH is, it was about to kill her not knowing what it was, so she insisted I went with her a little while ago so she could drive around and snoop to see if she could see evidence of anything. Well, that was a big waste of time. All she did was drive around like 5 mph and bitch about everything. So retarded. :/

It can get as cold as 0 degrees F. :O

They have heating up there. :)

Besides, it would be a great opportunity for me to finally use my Sorel boots and parka. ;P

So you never found out what it was? I read something about a fire at a flea mart called Carolmart.

I've finally found a copy of that "John Carter" movie in the library. It may not be great but I'm guessing it will be entertaining enough to watch. If not then I also have DVDs of AI (seen it before), Prometheus (seen it before) and something called "The Shock Doctrine".

I'm thinking about buying myself an Arduino. There's a starter kit for that which looks interesting. It could be fun.

Have you ever seen "Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D." BTW? Got an opinion on it? :)

Nope. And I forgot to add that she threw in some stalking as well. She was insisting that a certain house was where a friend of my sister lives. 'Oh, it's that house! I remember! It has a fence around it. Write down the number. What kind of car is he driving?' etc. I told her I didn't think it was his house and when I got home, I could look it up on the internet. Of course when I looked it up, the house that QoH insisted and "knew" that it was his house...wasn't his house. It wasn't even the right street. LOL Ah, to be a PD...always right even when you aren't.

a fire at a flea mart called Carolmart.

That is west of here by a couple miles. All the excitement the other night was a few blocks east. I never heard about *that* fire either. Local news sucks. :(

"John Carter" movie

It wasn't great, but it wasn't that bad either. It was enough like the book to not be horrible.

Have you ever seen "Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D." BTW? Got an opinion on it? :)

I am aware of its existence, but since I'm not into comics and superhero stuff, I've never watched it.

Arduino

I had to google that. Very geeky stuff there, my friend. ;P

What does one do with that?

Well, QoH was being bitchy right off the bat today. She had her panties in a bunch over a tub of Smart Balance that was bad and needed to be refunded. She wanted to go immediately after I got up. I didn't even get to eat or drink anything. Grrr...anyway, sarcasm = hateful to her. Hmmm, sarcastic is my default setting. I've been this way since jr. high at least, but just in the last year it now equals hate. Le sigh. Somewhere along the argument I told her she was nuts and told her off. She actually STHU for once and didn't bother me during the car ride to the store.

She still had an attitude when I came back out. She didn't like the fact that I bought a 2 liter of Cherry Pepsi and a bag of chips. I *hardly ever* drink soda. I bought it because it was $1 and I literally haven't had any in years.
And she will likely eat most of the chips herself. As much as she tries to BS the docs that she only eats healthy, she has quite the sweet tooth and likes junk and carbs. Just more PD projection IMO. Besides, it's a holiday and I feel like splurging. I work out with weights enough that it won't matter much. I can always throw in an extra workout.

She is also all worked up over having to get her driver license renewal on Wednesday. I had to dig out all her documentation that they require. I couldn't find her SS card, but at least I found a SSA 1099, so they'll take that as a substitute for the SS card. Also had to locate her birth certificate and marriage license + bring 2 documents with her name and address. So 5 stinking documents for a citizen to come up with for a license, but if she was here illegally she wouldn't have to show anything. This country is so fucked up. >:(

That pretty much describes it.

I'm not into comics and superhero stuff,

Aren't witches and their ilk kinda like superheroes? You like those.

What does one do with that?

I imagine one incorporates it into ones' secret evil scientist lair and performs experiments with it on unsuspecting heroic passersby. ;P

SS card, but at least I found a SSA 1099

So your mother's on social security? Why do you need an SS card to get a driver's license renewal?

if she was here illegally she wouldn't have to show anything.

One can get a DL if one is illegally in the country? How is that possible?

Funny you should ask. I was just thinking on the topic of fairy tales vs superheros and contemplating doing a post. Fairy tales were supposed to be used by adults to teach children cautionary tales--or instructional in some way--whereas superheroes IMO are an infantile and childish view of the world with all that black and white thinking created by adults who never grew up, not that the B&W thinking doesn't exist in the original fairy tales. ;P

I guess I'm on a tear again after reading some John Taylor Gatto articles...or that terrific scene from Salem the other night where Mary Sibley was telling Mercy "a story" in fairy tale form(she was actually telling her own story, disguised as a fairy tale). ;D

I imagine one incorporates it into ones' secret evil scientist lair

You have a secret evil scientist lair? Cool! :)

So your mother's on social security?

Yep.

Why do you need an SS card to get a driver's license renewal?

DHS, in its infinite absurdity, came up with this requirement. It's stupid as the card itself only shows the name and SS #, it doesn't prove state residency. You are supposed to show proof of residency to be issues a license to drive in this state. The thing is, the govt uses a drivers license as the main proof of identification, it's more than just a license to drive; it's like a national ID, except it's issued by each state.

One can get a DL if one is illegally in the country? How is that possible?

There are organizations that peeps can go to that help illegals obtain what they need and even get them on welfare, etc. The fucking govt even spends money to advertize in Mexico how they can go about it.

A new TV show for you to enjoy?

Yep. I wouldn't say that it is anywhere near historically accurate, but it *is* hella entertaining. And it's done by WGN Chicago, not a big network. Aaaaand Marilyn Manson does the theme music. Ya got that + witches + colonial torture + sexy times + zombies + assorted crazy-ass supernatural witchery...what's not to enjoy? ;P

Hey, just got a call for me to make a money next week. :)

And QoH's DL appt went well. It was the easiest and most pleasant experience evar with a govt procedure. It was done at the AAA office. We got there an hour early, but since they weren't busy, they went ahead and did it immediately. Took all of 5 minutes. This time, the guy actually processed all the documents. When I had to renew mine 5 years ago, my appt was the last of the day at the govt DL office and the lazy Vogon was in a hurry to leave and didn't even look at my documents, let alone actually take copies and process the info. Le sigh.

Anyhoo, killed several birds with one stone, since I had been wanting to get some maps from AAA, so it was convenient that the DL renewal was in their office.

Also, while we were out that way, we went by my parent's old acreage. Someone has purchased my grandmother's property that was next door to ours and is completely renovating her old house. They raised the ceiling height/roof level and are adding on additional rooms. Our old property(which was just a vacant lot)is being prepped for new construction. I'll have to do some snooping on the property appraiser's website to see who bought it. :)

I'd like to get my hands on it to find out. ;)

Is it on the scale of GOT or is it a weekly adventure type of thing?

Only a single money? ;P

But seriously, that's good news. Can you give me some details?

I had been wanting to get some maps from AAA

So you're actually planning that trip?

my parent's old acreage

That sounds like your family owned some huge estate. :)

Is that where you were born?

Well, we had a bit of an awkward situation today just before dinner time. We had a power outage so no TV, no internet, no phone even (no even my cellphone could get a connection) . We were supposed to eat fries but the electric appliance that we usually use for that didn't work. We just had to improvise. It turned out reasonably okay. Good thing the stove works on gas (not the gasoline kind). The outage only lasted for about an hour and a half thankfully.

It's on weekly on Sunday nights. It doesn't have the budget of GOT, but it has the soft core sex scenes and some of the shock value. It is extremely loosely based on the Salem witch panic of 400 or so odd years ago. They use the names of the actual peeps involved for the characters, but as far as any kind of accuracy as far as Puritans of the time behaved? LOL I enjoy the show, but I find myself saying '*that* definitely would not have happened' or 'a Puritan woman definitely would not have dressed like that' or 'I don't think Puritans allowed a whore house in town' or 'I don't think there were any threesomes happening with those peeps'. That kinda thing. ;P

The makeup and wardrobe dept does a helluva job on a smallish budget. It looks really good for a horror genre.

Can you give me some details?

Supposed to be a weenie snipping ceremony. The guy hasn't called back yet to confirm. :/

So you're actually planning that trip?

Not really. I'm kind of a map and cartography nerd, and I like to see how the state is growing and keep up with new roads. I got a bunch of different ones, all for up and down the east coast of the US.

That sounds like your family owned some huge estate. :)

It was originally 10 acres. It was divided up into four 2.5 acre lots. My grandparents had a house on one lot, my dad's youngest bro had a house on the one diagonally from my grandparents, the one in back of my grandparent's another uncle had but sold, and the one my dad had never got anything built on it. It really pisses me off the way my dad was so lazy and unambitious. There are homes worth literally several millions of dollars built out there now and the property is quite valuable. My dad could have made a fortune if he had ever had a house built on it, but NO! The idiot just paid taxes on a fucking vacant piece of land for decades and then sold it for less than he could have gotten for it. He also spent 10's of thousands of dollars on my grandmother's house after he divorced my mother and was living back out there. Then, when she died, my uncle's bitch wife had finagled executorship and sold the place and got all the money. My idiot father pissed all that money away for nothing.

I am really pissed as it is a pattern with my so-called family that they will piss money away on others when they had a responsibility to take care of me. I have never been put first. It would have been nice to get to college or have a car or other things that other peeps did for their kids. /ending rant now. :(

Is that where you were born?

No. I was born in Memorial Hospital in Hollywood. :) ;P

Good thing the stove works on gas

Thank God for natural gas. :)

We have nat gas here(stove/oven/water heater) so if the electricity goes out for some reason, we are not completely SOL.

We had the full outage(except for the gas)after Hurricane Wilma. Cell phones were out, too, for 15 days. It really sucked.

Good that everything wasn't out too long for you. What is your main source of electrical power over there? Florida has lots of nuke and nat gas power. They just got 2 more nuke reactors online down south not too long ago.
