Day 13,836 of my captivity...
If it wasn't for the fact that I'm being held captive in my own castle, I would have been out to the beach these past two days. It has been absolutely *perfect* beach weather. Like Chamber of Commerce perfect. But alas, prisoners at El Castillo de Xul are not allowed furloughs to the beach because it's "dangerous and filled with weirdos who are looking to kidnap/rape/murder me(not necessarily in that order) and the water is polluted with sewage and/or dead bodies and there are sharks/barracuda/jellyfish" that will get me as well as the blazing sun to give me skin cancer and melanoma. And besides, going to the beach is not productive. We must always accomplish something every day or the day has been wasted. Sigh.
So! In the spirit of compromise, I donned a tank top and went out back and raked leaves for an hour. At least I got a bit of sun and some additional exercise(did a light arm and shoulder workout today)so I won't look like I just crawled out from under a rock or like I'm from Minnesota.
I soooooo wish I could have gone to the beach today and I soooooo wish I had someone to go with because it just isn't that fun to go alone. Oh how I wanted to have my ass parked on Hollywood Beach today! And since it was a work day it likely wasn't too crowded and I probably could have found a prime parking spot on Michigan Street and then it would have been only a twenty or thirty meter walk until my toes were in the sand. Sigh.
Aaaaanyway...I think I'm just going to ramp up the intensity of my workouts so that if/when I am able to get back out to the beach no one will mistake me for a beached beluga whale and try to roll me back into the surf or call a team of marine biologists out to poke and prod me or take me to the Seaquarium for rehab.
BTW, which of these bikinis of mine do you like best?

Well, I'm done with episode 6 of Les Revenants. You know, one thing i don't like about this show is how few likeable characters there are in it. Oh well, only 3 more episodes.

Not really. I only got to see the season premiere as the free HBO was only for the weekend. I'm sure after the season is finished, there will be more free HBO and another GOT marathon to try to entice peeps into HBO subscriptions. I can wait. I can also read the episode recaps on the GOT wiki(cuz I am clever and resourceful like that ;P).
I *did* get to see Jack the Giant Slayer over the weekend. It was better than I thought it would be--actually kinda horrifying in some aspects--PG-13 is more like R these days. Those giants reminded me of antediluvian nephilim. Brrrr...

That reminds me of a news story from today. Some peeps were making a low budget zombie movie upstate somewhere when the airplane they had hired to shoot some aerial footage crashed. The extras who were wearing full zombie make-up rushed to render aid. When the actual emergency peeps arrived, there was...some confusion. Unfortunately, the peeps in the plane didn't make it. :/

Because I can be very impatient. I already read what amounts to the Cliff's notes on the books, so I know basically what's coming. GRRM hasn't finished the series of books yet, so if they keep going with the TV series, he basically told the producers where the story goes should he die before finishing the books. So whatever happens in the future with the books/series will be a surprise. Oh, and there will be zombies. :)

That is a real mystery. IIRC, when those boys dug up the grave of the girl who died in the bus crash, it was only filled with water and no body. I don't think I watched the American series' episode where they exhumed the little boy--I might have caught a bit of a recap where his clothes were in there, I don't know if there was a body, though.

Hm, zombies don't seem to be a normal phenomenon in the Revenants universe. So then why do they only seem to appear in that one little town? I'd say something unknown has disturbed the status quo fairly recently.

A dark and brooding artistic creature, who also has quite the physical prowess and a vast knowledge of the arcane. I perceive that Lord Arekino senses that the Great Xul is also an honorable creature as he did not question Xul's naughty streak in regard to his virtue while he lay unconscious. ;P

The thing was, they only gave you a mask, blocker, catching glove, and goalie stick to do the challenge. No chest/arm pads or the big leg pads. That's not so good when they are shooting pucks at you from one of those compressed air guns. :/

I would like to be really excited because the program description said that Emma was going to be asking Regina to teach her magic--fanfic writers could make that soooo good with endless possibilities of fail, snark, eye-rolling, etc--but we are relying on actual OUAT writers here, so I'm trying not to get my hopes up after last week's let-down. Also there is supposed to be some Capt. Hook-centric stuff. I hope it's interesting.
Oh! One thing I should add about the goalie skillz thingy...I catch with my right hand whereas most catch with their left. So they only had a left-hand mitt for me to use. So I was doing the thing all ass backwards to what I was used to. And I still killed. Cuz I'm awesome like that. ;P
And the OUAT episode was just meh again. Although I think the writers are messing with the Swan Queen and Captain Swan shippers for realz. Too many episodes with subtle things to be coincidence. And it was really weird to see Regina, Snow, Charming, Emma, and Henry all sitting at a table in the diner enjoying a meal together like a happy family.
Hopefully, *HOPEFULLY* next week will be good as it looks like they are going to do some sort of seance to contact Cora from the dead for advice on what to do with WW. And Rose McGowan is supposed to be back as young Cora. :)

Hey, forgot to tell you...while I was impatiently waiting for OUAT to come on on Sunday, I found Despicable Me on another channel. I'm not really huge on the animated movies, although some of them are okay, but this was was pretty funny. And Gru and I seem to share the same interior decorating tastes. ;P
Oh! Another thing...you are correct about on OUAT how former enemies become besties so quickly. I may have to do a post on that aspect alone. It was a surreal experience especially in this last episode.
And I saw Up In The Air with George Clooney and another one called Broken City that was pretty good.

Very punctual. They said it would start at 2am and be fully eclipsed at 3am and it was. It was just a bit east of due south for me and high in the sky. All I had to do was go out the back door and plunk myself down in a patio chair. The sky was entirely cloud-free until just a bit before 3am when a few stray clouds raced past coming from the south. I watched until it was fully blacked out then came inside and went to bed. :)
Did it live up to your expectations?
Sure, it was just a regular eclipse. Mars was right next to it, and I could see the Little Dipper if I looked to the north. I'm not familiar with the summer constellations as it's usually rainy here and you can't see many stars anyway, so I have no idea which were out.

Just kinda bizarre with Regina cruising into Snow and Charming's apartment like she lives there and plopping herself down and being right at home and they're all kinda chillin' like it's no big deal. The first part of the season she still thought of them as idiots, now they're like BFFs.
Hey, they had a new series on last night--Fargo! Like based off the movie. And Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman are in it! It was pretty good. :) The only thing that would have made it better is if they got Frances McDormand back as the cop.

Nah, and I mispoke when I said it was slightly east of north, it was actually a bit west of north. It wasn't as impressive as the one I watched a few years ago in the Walmart parking lot in Hallendale Beach. That one was due east and lower in the sky and right over the ocean.
