A Victory and a Defeat

A kinda miracle occurred tonight. I tried locking the handle on the bathroom door before I got in the shower. I was in there for only a couple minutes and like a moth to a flame, QoH just *had* to come try to barge in on me. But the lock held! I must have tinkered with it some time when QoH's idiot BF still lived here and managed to get it to work. I think I readjusted the strike plate or something. Anyway, I don't know why I forgot that it worked. I guess when her BF was here we all kinda had an understanding that when someone was in the shower you just didn't try to barge in. Funny that. Although if I recall correctly, QoH was still an exhibitionist and showered with the door open. :/

Anyway, the super-urgent-emergency-that-just-could-not-wait-for-me-to-finish-showering was that QoH was hungry and wanted me to make some spicy mayo sauce--the kind that is used for sushi and mock crab salad--so she could make some mock crab salad. I told her I would just as soon as I got out of the shower and got dressed.

As much as the woman tries to convince me that she has trouble walking and is in so much pain, she certainly has no trouble getting up to my bedroom in breakneck speed once I get out of the shower. I was soooo wrong in assuming that since she was back down in the kitchen that I could get dressed in peace. Fuck no! She was upstairs in what seemed like less than five seconds and came barging in on me just as I was pulling on my underpants. I really think she gets some perverse pleasure in seeing me naked. Or maybe she just likes the fact that it annoys me. Either way I still think it's kinda sick. So after my initial victory, I get the defeat of her walking in on me while I'm trying to dress.

Grrrrr...

That will not be happening again. I will be locking my bedroom door whenever I'm dressing or undressing. Because having boundaries and respect is something that QoH will never have, especially not for me.

Yes, that's definitely a victory for you. And if you win enough battles, eventually you win the war.

Or maybe she just likes the fact that it annoys me.

Or it's about ownership and control. She thinks that because she owns the house, she owns everything and everyone in it.

Your situation reminds me so much of some fairy tale. I'm not sure which one though. Hansel and Gretel maybe? Anyway, it's about some old witch keeping an innocent girl as a servant or slave. The girl eventually defeats the witch.

I will be locking my bedroom door whenever I'm dressing or undressing.

Good for you! :)

^This. Long, long ago, back when I was a teen and before I knew anything about PDs, I identified this. I remember telling my sister that QoH is a total control freak and tried to convey to my sis how QoH had something seriously wrong with her. I even tell QoH this to her face when she gets me pissed off enough.

Your situation reminds me so much of some fairy tale.

This topic was brought up a while back at the PD forum. Although a few brought up the fact that step parents are usually the ones vilified in these stories when the truth of the matter is that in real life it's usually the bio parents who are the perpetrators. That society is in such denial that a bio parent could ever do such things to their own child is probably the reason why step-parents are written about as the perpetrators.

The movie Tangled was also discussed(it's based on Rapunzel). Mother Gothel is a total PD control freak. ;)

Maybe you're thinking of Cinderella as well.

BTW, new OUAT in 10 days IIRC. :D ::happy dance::

They are supposed to have an appearance from Rapunzel in one of the episodes.

I was reading a fanfic where the ending made me LOL. I reeeeally wish this one particular scene ended up in the show cuz it would be awesome. WW is causing mayhem and trying to kill everyone and then something happens to suddenly send them all back to Storybrooke. Emma's like, "Welcome to the world without magic, bitch!" and then punches her ass out cold. Regina's like, "Language, Miss Swan." (cuz Henry is there) Cracked me up cuz I could totally see that happening. ;P

Also, I'd like to see Regina light a witch up for living in her castle and wearing her clothes. I'd be like 'Aw, HELL no!' and light her ass up for that. You don't just move in to someone's castle and wear their clothes. That's just wrong on so many levels. ;P

Rapunzel sounds like a plausible candidate. I've read a lot of fairy tales during my childhood though. I can't be sure.

BTW the name Rapunzel probably comes from a plant called "Rapunzelklokje" or in latin "Campanula rapunculus". The plant also goes by the name of "Repelsteeltje" which translates to Rumplestiltsken.

new OUAT in 10 days

Good news. :)

something happens to suddenly send them all back to Storybrooke.

Wouldn't they lose their memories if that happened?

light her ass up for that.

Or just give her a nice sponge bath. To make the suffering last a bit. ;P

I had my conversation with the shrink today for psychological evaluation. Apparently I'm not entirely nuts. Next up is the "werkdeskundige".

Grrrrrr...*THAT DAMN WOMAN* She aggravates me soooooo much!!! GRRRRRRR!!!!!

I imagine you can guess who has kept me away from the internet until this late hour?

I sooooo wish I had magic or at least was allowed to use certain sharp and pointy objects on her without being hauled off to gaol. >:(

the name Rapunzel probably comes from a plant called "Rapunzelklokje"...The plant also goes by the name of "Repelsteeltje" which translates to Rumplestiltsken

I'm kinda at a loss as to what to say to that...it needs to be snarky...hmmm...so the Grimms needed some fantastical-sounding names so what better than Dutch ones? Or maybe nightmarish ones? Certainly some of the pronunciations are a thing of nightmares. ;P

Wouldn't they lose their memories if that happened?

After what happened with the mid-winter cliffhanger, something seemed to be tweeked to prevent the memory loss. I have no idea where they are going with it. I've been trying to avoid spoilers(although some of the fanfic writers have proposed some plausible theories, like perhaps the WW is the Black Fairy since the BF's wand was used in the series finale). ::shrugs::

Or just give her a nice sponge bath.

Being a student of old time punishment, I'd suggest a ducking-stool. ;P

Apparently I'm not entirely nuts.

Should I be congratulating you or offering my condolences? ;D

Next up is the "werkdeskundige".

That sounds particularly horrible. ;P

So when is all that going down? Anything else exciting happening at your end?

gaol

Is that the way you normally spell "jail"?

The Grimm stories are mostly Germanic in origin (although they probably go back way further). The Dutch are also mostly Germanic in origin.

I'd suggest a ducking-stool. ;P

How medieval of you. I like it. ;P

Should I be congratulating you or offering my condolences? ;D

Both? Neither? I wish I knew.

So when is all that going down?

March 5th 0900 h.

Anything else exciting happening at your end?

I'm watching season 1 of Homeland ATM. It's not bad. I also watch Jaws the other day. That movie has the weirdest combination of silly, cheesy dialogue and horrible bloody carnage.

How's your exciting life playing out? ;)

No, it's an antiquated spelling(to me anyway), but I've seen some UK and assorted Anglosphere peeps using it from time to time, so what-the-hey! ;P

The Grimm stories are mostly Germanic in origin.

Yes, I know all this. :)

The Dutch are also mostly Germanic in origin.

You are swamp Germans. ;P

There's some Celtic genetics, too, thrown in from way back IIRC. Dark-haired N Europeans are supposed to have Celtic heritage as opposed to the blonde ones whose ancestors were ravished by Vikings.(so I read somewhere) ;P

How medieval of you. I like it. ;P

'Tis the prescribed punishment for witches and assorted unruly women. You can also lower her in sloooowly and tease a bit for better results.

Both? Neither? I wish I knew.

Well, I like you the way you are. You are very interesting. :)

horrible bloody carnage.

I vaguely remember seeing the 3D one in a theater. I think I was with the old peeps so we were 10 or 15 minutes late as usual and walking in to see severed bloody limbs floating in the water on screen...well, coming out in 3D. Horrifying. And that's really all I remember. :/

How's your exciting life playing out? ;)

Trying not to off QoH and reading a lot of fanfics.

I can hardly wait for OUAT to start back up. I heard that Rose McGowan is supposed to be back as young Cora and that there is some Leopold action. Hopefully there will be some ret-conning so Regina's actions will be more justified. Also, Meghan Ory is going to be back as Red/Ruby(she has her own series on another network now)so I'll be happy to see her. Supposed to be more Tink and Ariel, too. :)

Thank you. I am of course the most interesting arekino of the internet. :P

That one was so bad.

Intelligence, apparently. Also has that guy from Lost in it. Have you seen that show?

I've caught another damn cold. I swear, my immune system is made of kittens and teddy bears.

Have you heard of Petrichor BTW? It's been quite a while since she wrote her last blog piece. Has she reached nirvana already?

True dat. :)

Have you seen that show?

I watched it a couple times but couldn't get into it. I think Marg Helgenberger(sp?)is in it, too. I remember her character doing something Machiavellian in an episode and I thought *that* was pretty cool, but the show doesn't really interest me. It's kinda cheesy.

I've caught another damn cold.

Pobrecito. You need chicken soup and TLC. ;)

Have you heard of Petrichor BTW?

Nope, but I *have* been think of her as well. I was thinking of sending her an email but the last time I did that I got no response.

Has she reached nirvana already?

The way she is, sad to say, I doubt it. :/
