Ninja!

Before I get into the meat of this post, I'd just like to tell ya about something funny that I saw today.  I had to take the old woman for a doc appointment and then afterward it is customary to go to Walmart.  The old woman wanted to go look at some things on the vitamin aisle just before we were about to leave.  That's when I noticed this:

At first I thought it was some sort of wiener pill, but upon further inspection, it's mostly B vitamins.  Hmmm, I seem to recall telling someone that he could take a supplement and forget about any injections.  ;P

Seriously, though...just take some B vitamins, zinc, and magnesium and that should give you the boost ya need.

Okay, now for the ninjas!

Much to my chagrin, American Ninja Warrior has been picked up by a stupid major American network and has now been ruined by the PC police.  Instead of the rules being you have to complete the course to move to the next stage like in Japan, the bar had to be lowered so that we can be "inclusive" and not hurt anyone's sensitive widdle feewings.  So now peeps who FAILED and did NOT finish the course are allowed to come back as alternates.  Also, women who did NOT complete the course were allowed back for the FINALS of all things.  No women even came close to completing the qualifying course.  Why the hell should they be allowed a shot at the finals for Christ's sake?

If you want to have women be able to compete, just make a Kunoichi show like they have in Japan.  That way the course will be tailored for a woman's strengths like balance and lower body strength and not like the men's course which is mostly geared toward upper body strength.  Also, the taller one is, the better one will do on the regular course since there is a lot of jumping and reaching involved.

The other thing that has completely ruined it for me is the two stupid color commentary idiots babbling annoyingly and incessantly.  The one is extremely negative and always has something negative to say while someone is trying to complete the course as if he has a clue on what should be done.  I doubt that the idiot could make it past the first obstacle let alone finish the course.  He should just shut the fuck up already.  But since neither of them will shut the fuck up and stop being annoying, I am forced to put the TV on mute so that I can watch the show without being annoyed by their moronic jabbering.

At least a bunch of the peeps who qualified at the Miami event completed stage one of the final.  Yay, Floridians!  Let's do something awesome for once!  ;P

What about the "Bovine Glandular Concentrate"? What is that supposed to be? Ground up steer balls?

Perhaps there weren't enough candidates otherwise?

just make a Kunoichi show like they have in Japan.

Maybe they lack the budget for that?

That's what I was thinking. Now we know what happens to the balls they cut off when they make the lads into steers. :/ Don't let anything go to waste when you can make some moolah from it.

There were shit-tons of peeps competing. They just caved to the PC police and the feminazis. I can't stand that crap. At least in Japan, they are strict with the rules. If no one makes it? Too bad. Try again next year. Sometimes only one person makes it to the final stage. Only a few peeps have ever completed the whole course in all the ears they've been doing it.

Maybe they lack the budget for that?

I doubt it. They probably figured the big Sasuke men's course which is super tough and which requires one to be a super bad-ass ninja to complete would be better for ratings.

As it is, I'm not sure how the ratings are. It was a show that they started showing on the G4 channel which has programming about video games, anime, and other geek style interests. Sort of a niche market. I don't know how it is fairing on mainstream TV. There must have been enough of an interest for a big network to pick it up.

So it's a cultural issue? The possibility of there not being any winners is too much for fragile American psyches? :P

Yes.

Yes. Unfortunately, this country is no longer the one I grew up in. I'm not the only one who says this. Peeps my age and older say this all the time. The younger generation are a bunch of coddled babies who grew up with everyone getting a trophy for participation and the idea that one winner is "unfair" and are a bunch of overindulged crybabies.

Now get off my lawn! ;P ;D

Anyhoo, the premier of the new The Ultimate Fighter show with Rousey and Tate as the coaches was on last night. I have opinions. (shocking, huh?) I think I'll do a post. I have to take the old woman for another appt now so it should be up for tomorrow. :)
