Uuuuuugggghhhhh....

After two days of cutting down various things in my yard in 90 degree heat and 80% humidity, my body went on strike.  My back was starting to seize up Friday afternoon so I called it quits, brought all my equipment back in, and had a nice hot shower.  I was so exhausted that I went to bed at 11pm and didn't wake up until a little before 10am this morning.  My back is killing me and so are my hamstrings. My hands are full of nicks and holes from thorns and I've got various cuts and scratches on my arms from falling tree limbs and thorny bushes.

It would be nice if I had a nice code monkey with soft, smooth paws to give me a massage.  ;P

is it still hot over there?

Meh, it's tolerable now. It's get warmer again tomorrow. :(

Ouch! Better take it easy then.

That's odd, I was thinking the same thing. :P

I bet they don't have that problem in Iceland.

It'll be hot here until December. :/

Ouch! Better take it easy then.

Luckily for me, it dribbled rain all day yesterday making it impossible to work with electric tools. Not that I could do much even if I wanted to.

I'm feeling better today. All the little nicks in my hands from thorns have healed up and my back isn't hurting so bad, but my hamstrings are still sore. :(

I watched some UFC prelims last night and did a little arm/shoulder workout. I should add some back and hammy exercises so when I *do* have to use those muscles, they won't hurt so bad. :/

That's odd, I was thinking the same thing. :P

That *is* odd. ;P ;P ;D

Oh! BTW, Naked and Afraid had a recap with behind the scenes etc and then they had a casting call.

I think I'll sign up and tell them my qualification is that I'm a Native S Floridian. ;P

Just for shits and giggles, I'll sign you up , too! ;P

As long as it's for the episode where they put us both in Disney World. I think I could survive there. ;)

I'm just kidding, of course. ;D

I wouldn't want to subject you or me to that much misery. Ya know, one episode was in the Serengeti...totally nuts! Hyenas, crocs, and lionzezzz, oh my!

The closest I want to get to that mess is a nice trip to Busch Gardens Tampa or the Animal thing at Disney. Or the Swiss Family Robinson tree house at Disney...or the Polynesian at Disney. Mmmm...Polynesian! Yummy food and good show! ;P

So they just followed the yellow brick road? :P

Polynesian! Yummy food and good show! ;P

Hmm, I've never had Polynesian food. What's good about it?

The most memorable thing was the coconut bread. The group I was sitting with kept requesting basket after basket...it was *that* good. There were also yummy sticky sweet ribs. :)

All this Disney talk got me looking around the toobs last night. Apparently, the Polynesian show/dinner isn't as good as it used to be according to one reviewer. From what he said, the show is totally different now. :(

And from looking at all the Disney stuff last night, I ended up having a dream about being in some survival contest and being required to sing sea shanty/pirate songs as part of the competition. I could only remember the lyrics for that one about 'what do you do with a drunken sailor' and a little from the 'Sweet Haven' song from the Popeye movie. :/ This morning after I woke up, I can remember the lyrics to 'Whiskey in the Jar'...that's kinda pirate-y. ;P

Now ya got me in the mood for a Disney trip! ;P If you ever make it over to FL, I'll take ya and show ya a good time. ;D And those ancient ticket I have from like 25 yrs ago will still be honored! :D

Sounds sweet and fibrous. :)

Shiver me timbers! I'll have to find me a captain who'll take me over to yonder shores someday. ;)

It wasn't too sweet and not fibrous ;P . It *was* moist and delicious. :)

I know that Holland America has a route from Rotterdam to NY. Just get yer *booty* on down to Rotterdam with some doubloons and pieces of eight and maybe a flagon of rum and I'm sure you can bribe a captain to take ye aboard. ;P

BTW, the coolest things at Disney IMO is the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, Tom Sawyer's Island, Swiss Family Robinson tree house, and the Haunted Mansion. :)

Well, I'm all out of words today. It's about 18:00 o'clock now where you live, I guess? So you're eating dinner or something? Okay, have a nice meal. :)

I'll see you tomorrow, matey!

It was the *or something*. I successfully felled the big-ass fan palm. I had to use the gas chainsaw. It was a big job. The thing was like 2.5 meters tall and maybe 30 or 35cm in diameter. Palm trees are *heavy*, too...all full of water weight. I have to cut the thing in 50cm pieces to be able to move it. I got 2 pieces cut and moved to the trash pile before daylight ran out.

I also did a bit of demolition earlier today. My mother wanted me to disassemble the old doghouse out back--been there probably 40 years--it was starting to rot in places(made from thick marine plywood). I managed to get the roof off with no problem but the rest was fairly well built and I had to use an ax and brute force to get it apart.

It was hot as hell and humid today. Needless to say, I'm pretty exhausted after all I did. It was nice to get a shower and wash my hair. :)

I had less than a nice meal--just a Caesar salad and a hotdog. I have a beer in the freezer for a fast chill that I'll be enjoying momentarily, though. ;P

And what about you, my dear Arekino? What have you been up to?

This morning I went to the library and borrowed myself a Danish tv-series. In the afternoon I did a little work on my programming project and now I'm surfing the net and writing comments to you :)

It was hot as hell and humid today.

We had quite a a temperature drop today to only 16 degrees Celcius. Niiiiiiccceee. :)

disassemble the old doghouse

Are you going to get a new one?

BTW any thoughts on the new Doctor Who actor?

That *is* nice! I wish you could send some of that this way. The only thing we're getting coming this way is a Saharan desert dust cloud. :/ ::shakes fist:: Stupid dust cloud! >:(

Are you going to get a new one?

Nah. We have 2 of the plastic "Dogloo" ones out back. No dog ATM. RIP dog. Not sure if we'll get another one.

any thoughts on the new Doctor Who actor?

I'm disappointed that it's not John Hurt. Last episode of the season was a big tease. I don't know much about the new guy.
