I feel like a lumberjack, baby!

With all the cutting down of palm trees and other miscellaneous things around the yard, I really *am* starting to feel like a lumberjack!  Especially when I'm using the Big Scary Ax©.  When I'm using the Big Scary Ax©, I pretty much look like my avatar picture except without the armor.  ;P

Also, I feel very powerful when I'm using the Big Scary Ax©.  Not only do I look like an intimidating psycho ax murderer, but it's a very satisfying feeling to completely decimate some palm stumps with some cold, hard steel.  (And it gives the most fabulous back and shoulder workout!  All the big fat fatties out there who can't seem to lose weight should be made to go clear some of those forests that were recently burned in the summer fires.  Give the fatties three regular meals per day and set them to work clearing some felled trees with nothing but an ax.  They'd be slim and trim in no time if they didn't keel over and die from a heart attack first.  But I digress.  ;P  )

I am almost finished taking out the palm stumps.  The Big Scary Ax© has made fairly quick work of it and without having to ruin my chainsaws with all that nasty wet palm fiber.  And with me taking the stumps to the ground, I didn't have to spend a lot of money on a stump grinder or dull out my chainsaw blades cutting into dirt.  I only wish it wasn't 90°F and 65-70% humidity here, because after about 10 minutes of chopping I'm sweating so profusely that I have to stop and go inside for some A/C and ice water.  Otherwise, it's the most satisfying of workouts.  ;D

And hey, I managed to get through a whole post on this topic without using any innuendos or double entendres!

I'm your having lots of fun molesting trees. I was thinking that you could build yourself that log cabin mansion you dreamed about. Might come in handy during Halloween, having your own spooky "cabin in the woods". :P

I babysat my nephews yesterday. Initially it was only for the youngest one as it's "kermis" this week and the older two were having fun going in rides and stuff. I myself had fun watching some movies.

I'd prefer molesting another kind of wood, but I make do with what I have. :/ ;P

that log cabin mansion you dreamed about.

That was so weird. I can still remember details...

...like there was someone showing me around as if it was a vacation property or something. There was a porch out back that had Americana type decorations--red, white & blue crap, a taxidermy buffalo head, etc. and the person mentioned Dick Cheney ??? IDK, maybe we were in Wyoming?

Then, just back inside, there was a wall with shelves full of body wash and colognes and stuff and I remember thinking, 'hey, lemme find one for Arekino,' and then I was smelling them trying to find one that I liked but not too strong smelling since you are particular about scents. I remember that they had Cool Water(what I wear) but thinking that you wouldn't want that for yourself.

We(the young lady who was showing me around and I) went upstairs and I remember that it looked like a lived-in house--other peeps stuff all around. Then she left me to just walk around up there.

There was a kitchen area and then a bedroom with big windows and French doors--lots of light coming in there--I was thinking that that room needed some curtains--not very private for a bedroom. I looked down at the floor of the room and noticed that it was very well constructed except that the beautiful floor had a big hole torn into it down to the sub-flooring. When the young lady came back, I asked her about it and she said the dog did it as he gets scared during thunderstorms. I remember feeling mad at hearing that--it's very irresponsible to just let a dog tear the shit out of a floor. I remember seeing the dog running around in another room--it was a skinny dog, not too big but bigger than a toy breed and the color of a brown dachshund.

Then I did a little more exploring and discovered another kitchen that looked like the peeps who lived there were total pigs as it was a complete mess, and then finding a smallish bathroom with a bathtub. The dream was starting to have a whole Top of the Lake vibe to it--I half expected to see Matt and his peeps show up...then I woke up.

"kermis" this week

Didn't you go along for that?

I myself had fun watching some movies.

Anything good?

You know, I may just have a look at the chainmail option. Just in case. :P

Nah, I was babysitting the youngest.

Anything good?

Nothing I hadn't already seen. But it was fun watching movies together with the nephews.

As for your dream, Maybe you're exploring new territory in some way? Do you have as much imagination awake as you do asleep?

I could always make you some--I *am* skilled in making chain mail. ;P Of course, you'd only need it for fashion purposes as I would have a much softer touch for that sort of precision woodworking. ;P ;D ;D

Maybe you're exploring new territory in some way?

Who knows? I'll have to go look up some of the imagery on one of those dream dictionary sites.

Do you have as much imagination awake as you do asleep?

I could. I just need the right atmosphere, conditions, and nutrients for it. ;D I *am* an artsy-fartsy type, ya know!

Soooooo...any more babysitting or have you finished your duty for now? Anything fun planned or are you just staying in? OH! I meant to ask ya...does anyone grow peaches where you live? or is the climate right for that?

I'm free the rest of this weekend, I think.

Probably staying in. Maybe I'll go take a walk.

Not locally AFAIK. It's possible to grow them in greenhouses though but it's not cost effective.

I couldn't stop myself from googling this :O :D :D The things people comes up with. :P

Is the weather nice for that? It's still wicked hot here. I have been working out back in the yard away from direct sunlight and I've still had to come in every 1.5 hours for water, A/C and wardrobe changes. :/

Perhaps some places in France have a climate more suitable for growing them?

I couldn't stop myself from googling this

Now that just doesn't seem practical. ;) I have the copper to make one, though. Imagine explaining *that* while going through customs! ;P ;D LOL

It's fine, really. Still, I decided not to go because when I woke up this morning after sleeping for 10 hours I felt like crap. I think I'm coming down with something. Maybe I caught bug from the kids.

Apparently, the département of the Pyrénées-Orientales (near the mediterranean) and the Provence region are the main areas of production for peaches in France.

Why do you ask? Do you have a sudden enormous craving for peaches? :)

Wow! That's Xul-caliber power sleeping! Although I got ya beat by an hour--5 hours of strenuously working in the heat and humidity warranted 11 hours of sleeping for me! Sorry you feel like crap, though. :(

Maybe I caught bug from the kids.

Oh, yes. Kids are notorious vectors for all sorts of germs. They're practically walking/talking biohazards. You should always wear a full hazmat suit when coming into contact with kids...or at least a surgical mask and rubber gloves. ;P

Best pop some echinacea pills and 1,000 mg of vitamin C and drink lots of herbal tea. Feel better, eh! :::hugs:::

Why do you ask? Do you have a sudden enormous craving for peaches? :)

Some blog commenter was bragging about picking peaches off their tree and making fresh peach ice cream. OMG that is like some of the most delicious stuff evar! Nom, nom, nom!!! Lucky bastard! :::grumble, grumble:::

The nearest place to me that one can grow peaches is N Florida or Georgia. Then I was wondering if there was any place in EU that grew peaches or if you were lucky enough to have any peach trees near you. Figures it would have to be those lucky French bastards that would be able to grow them. ;P I am planning my menu for my eventual tour of France. A farmer's market raid will be inevitable. ;) ;D

Well, I'm still not feeling too great. My muscles or tendons are aching. Still, I don't have fever so I guess I'm not that sick.

How are your muscles doing after all that chopping? I bet they're sore. :)

Kids are notorious vectors for all sorts of germs.

I guess. They went back to school about a week ago. They're probably exchanging their holiday bugs and bringing them home. "Look what I got, mom!" :O

fresh peach ice cream

Do they really need to be that fresh?

I hope you start feeling better soon. :* ::hugs::

This might sound like an odd question, but bear with me. You know I'm a medicine/nutrition nerd...I might need the answer for my thesis. ;P Q: Since you had your appendix removed, have you noticed if you catch more or less colds, bugs, etc or is it about the same as before?

How are your muscles doing after all that chopping?

They were a bit sore. My hamstrings got the worst of it with all the squatting down to pick up all the bits that were hacked away from the stump.

I woke up this morning with my right shoulder bothering me and I couldn't figure out what had caused it since I hadn't done any chopping for a few days. Then I figured it out--we went to Home Depot to get a new dimmer switch and while I was in there I was playing around with the axes and sledge hammers. I think the 12 kilo sledge hammer was the culprit.(They use those for MMA training--hit a giant tire with the sledge hammer--good workout for your shoulders and core.) That's what I get for swinging it around with one arm. :/

They went back to school about a week ago.

The little bastards around here went back today--all 650,000 of them. :/

exchanging their holiday bugs

True dat! I only get sick when I'm around kids. :(

Do they really need to be that fresh?

I would imagine that freshly picked for optimum flavor would be ideal, but not necessary. Luckily for me, Publix put their premium ice cream on sale for tree fiddy/half gallon and they *just happened to have* peach! So my craving has been satisfied! (I also got a Chocolate Trinity nom, nom, nom! ;P)

That was 25 years ago. I don't think I've noticed a difference. IDK, really

I only get sick when I'm around kids. :(

I find that hard to believe. I mean, kids infect the adults you hang around who will in turn infect you, right? I generally don't worry bout the local bugs. Just when I go out of town or meet out-of-towners then I'm almost guaranteed to get sick.

So my craving has been satisfied!

So everything is peachy now? :)

I also got a Chocolate Trinity

So that's dark, mocha and white?

I don't do much hanging around anymore. :( Generally the only places I go are doc's office and the grocery store.

When I was working, *that* was when I was exposed to all the gooey, snotty, germy kids--a lot from out of town--all those New York germs. LOL Most of the peeps around here don't do much traveling, although now that school is back in session, there will be more kids out in the shops when the parents pick them up from school. :(

Anyway...I haven't been sick in what feels like ages. I'm definitely getting more sunlight than I used to so I guess the vitamin D helps. :)

So everything is peachy now? :)

You forgot the :::rim shot::: ;P

So that's dark, mocha and white?

It is chocolate ice cream with gooey fudge swirls and fudge chunks mixed in.

Are you feeling any better?

Badum tish

Are you feeling any better?

Yeah, mostly. My right elbow still hurts for some reason. Maybe I'm getting a tennis elbow or a mouse arm? I do spend a lot of time shoving that mouse pointer around the screen. :/

Ugh. I've been using a laptop with the touch pad for 8 years now. I *can't stand* using a regular mouse now. Occasionally when I'm having internet issues here and I go to my neighbor's to use their computer, the mouse and the whole shebang just feels soooooo awkward.

tennis elbow or a mouse arm?

Are you sure it's not from *something else*? ;P ;D Have you ever seen the movie Irina Palm with Marianne Faithfull? ;P ;P ;P (not that I'm implying you are doing that to anyone but yourself ;) )
