So Bored

I have nothing much to write about because I do nothing much day in and day out. All I do is vegetate and watch TV and screw around on the internet. Where I found these funny geeky shirts and things. I think this one is my favorite. And this thing is pretty funny, too.

I have free HBO and Cinemax this weekend so I've been watching a few movies.

So what are y'all up to? Maybe Arekino would like to do some guest posting for me?

All? How many readers do you have? I'm not up to much. Last week I started re-learning my math skills by going over my old math books, 1 hour per day. I hope I make it to differential equations *this* time.

Maybe Arekino would like to do some guest posting for me?

Gosh. I honestly wouldn't know what to write about. You're the more interesting one of us two anyway :)

Have you seen that Petrichor has been writing again?

Math skillz, huh? I was never too good at math even though I managed to make it through physics and calculus.

I checked Petrichor's place last week but nothing new was up. I guess she snuck one in on me! LOL

According to Wikipedia it's Constitution Day today where you live, September 17. It's a holiday even. I don't think we have a day that celebrates the Dutch constitution. Oddly, the constitution doesn't play such a big part in our lives as it seems to in the USA. Maybe we just take certain freedoms for granted or for obvious? (I just checked and apparently there's a thing called "koninkrijksdag" - kingdom day - which has no meaning to me whatsoever)

Anyway, does Constitution Day mean anything to you? Do you do anything special?

Are you still bored BTW? Not seen any interesting movies? Met interesting people?

Constitution Day? I had no idea that was today. In fact, I don't think I ever heard of it before. Hmmm...wiki says it was created in 2004. It also says it's a Federal holiday. I don't think that is *technically* correct as the post office and everything else was open today. Something about talking about the Constitution in school as part of the festivities. Well, I haven't been in a classroom in 18 years so I guess that's why I had no idea.

I *do* know that today is Rosh Hashanah and I'm not working and that sucks.

Anyway, does Constitution Day mean anything to you? Do you do anything special? I think we have a really terrific Constitution. It has worked well for 236 years. Too bad there are certain people in this country including the current occupant of the White House who don't like it and want to change it. I'll just leave it at that. Since I had never heard of the holiday before, no, I don't do anything special to celebrate.

Are you still bored BTW? Yeah, a bit. Not seen any interesting movies? I saw a bunch over the weekend. I'll probably do a post of my "reviews".
Met interesting people? I talked with my neighbor across the street for a few minutes today. I went to bring them(he, his sis, & grandma) an avocado. It seems he's taking a couple classes at the community college--an English class and a math class. He said he was thinking of going for a computer degree eventually. It bums me out. He has a job and his grandmother has plenty of money to take care of them so he doesn't have too much to worry about. I asked him if he could ask at his workplace if they need someone who does my line of work. He said he would but I don't think anything will come of it. :(

Yeah, I'd expect some business coming your way. Too bad.

I'll just leave it at that.

That's a bit of a hit and run :P

Cool. Looking forward to it.

I talked with my neighbor across the street for a few minutes today.

Hm, I rarely even see my neighbours. Not that we have a anything to talk about if I did see them.

He said he would but I don't think anything will come of it. :(

Oh, come on, you never know how a cow catches a hare (Dutch proverb). :)

Well, I'll be off to my oldest nephew (who is 14 years old) in a few minutes. He's got a math test tomorrow and says he needs my help studying. Apparently he finds some of that stuff a bit hard to understand. I don't mind helping him but I do wish he'd asked sooner. Adolescents, eh...

Too bad you weren't around for me when I was having difficulty with the maths. I think I would have needed *lots* of your help studying! ;P

I had mentioned to my neighbor that I had been checking job listings on the computer and had seen a listing for something similar to what I do and it was at his place of employment. He said that he had never been to that section of where he works. I asked him if he could ask a manager and see if they needed anyone who does what I do. He said he'd look into it but I don't have much faith in his follow through abilities. They seem a rather self absorbed lot(the neighbors) who don't go out of their way to help others. It's rather annoying. I'm the sort of person who would, and have helped them out in the past when they didn't have jobs. I guess people just aren't big on reciprocating these days.

Well, not super good. In my nephew's case I guess it's about high-school level.

I guess people just aren't big on reciprocating these days.

Sad, considering tit for tat lies at the basis of human societies. If we break that cycle then trust goes out the window.
