Happy Fourth! I'll be BBQing ribs and chicken all day and trying to avoid getting shot by the morons around here who can't fucking understand that if you shoot bullets into the air that they are going to come back down again. Of course, I could always take the gunpowder out of some shotgun shells and make some fun homemade fireworks! Or not.

Please tell me you're kidding. Sadly, I'm not. Are people really doing that? Seems an "urban" phenomenon. I'm at the point where the ones who do it are beyond contempt IMO and I'd hardly consider them to be people. More like sub-humans. You'd have to experience these morons to believe it. The "community leaders" get on the TV every year and plead with them not to shoot guns into the air but there are always incidents anyway. What are they aiming for? Nothing in particular. To them a gun is a toy that makes a funny loud bang sound.

Ah, I used to have one of those as a little kid. Played cowboys and indians with it.
I mixed things up a bit. I made ribs, chicken and my specially seasoned burgers. I ate too much and now I feel like I'm going to puke. Ah, the perils of being the Hibachi Master!
When did you go vegetarian, BTW? And when did you quit? I think you may have told me before but I'm getting old and senile. ;P

My parents decided we should be vegetarians when I was 12. I suppose I should be glad they didn't think we should be vegans.
And when did you quit?
When I was 25. It still took me about 15 years to start eating steaks.
I never tried to be 100% vegetarian but in my mid 20's I tried to go mostly vegetarian and no gluten/refined carbs with just a bit of meat. Because of the industry that I was in, little by little I was starting to get a shape like Nigella Lawson so that's why I did that diet. I have pretty much maintained the no refined carbs part up until recently. I'm just going to have to be more disciplined because Ma Nature knocked me off the exercise wagon and I've been eating a lot of crap lately.
