More griping about MMA

Here is the pic of Miss Van Soest. As the saying goes, if you're not Dutch you're not much.  ;P  ;D

My abs do that + thing, too.  ;P

Anyway, I had been thinking about the whole weight cutting thing in MMA. I was familiar with the process to an extent, but something about the whole thing was bothering me (mainly because I'm a fairly good judge of weight going by height and body type and I found it unlikely that certain fighters could be a certain weights) so I had to further investigate.

I came across this excellent article which explains things in greater detail.  I had no idea that one could lose up to 30 pounds just from dehydrating/water weight alone. That just kinda blows me away a bit.  I had always been led to believe from watching various programs about MMA that the weight cutting process was a combination of losing body fat and then dehydrating at the last minute to lose the last bit of weight.  I had no idea just how much water weight was lost and how much could be put back on in 24 hours.

Like someone in comments said, it's almost like cheating.  I know they all do it, but still. I'd like to know what fighters' exact weights are just before they get into the ring. Obviously the heavier fighter is going to have that advantage.

Must have been a lot of work. Did you have that when you were younger as well?

Obviously the heavier fighter is going to have that advantage.

Does it really make that much of a difference? It's all dead weight, it seems to me. If it were all muscle then okay.

Must have been a lot of work.

Not too much. I try to do at least 100 situps at least twice a week.

Did you have that when you were younger as well?

I've pretty much had it since I took kung fu as a kid (11 or 12 y/o). Situps and crunches were done at the beginning of class, plus I used to exercise on my own. They say that muscle has memory and it proves to be true. If you were athletic when you were younger, then get out of shape for a while, when you start exercising again, it isn't as difficult and the results come quicker.

Does it really make that much of a difference?

It can. It makes a difference with leverage. I can tell you from experience that it's a pain in the ass to try to grapple with someone who is heavier. ;P

It all proves that I have good instincts and that there is no way someone who is 5'7" can weigh 135 pounds in the ring. Just being conservative, they are at least 150 or 155 pounds when they are in the ring.

I find the whole thing to be somewhat dishonest and misleading. The average person is assuming that the fighters they are watching are the weigh-in weight when they are in the ring, when in actuality they could be up to 30 pounds heavier. I think they should change the weigh-in to a few hours before the fight like they do with amateur wrestling, then peeps would have to fight at their natural weight. Keeps things more fair that way.

I guess I can try doing that. Is there a special way to do those sit-ups?

Ah, right. Forgot about that. I guess one shouldn't grapple with a heavy opponent. Although some aikido and Jiu jitsu techniques might work well.

Keeps things more fair that way.

That does sound logical, yes. How much of a change in the culture of the sport would it take though? In soccer I've heard people call for electronic ways of determining for instance off sides for years but other people are very resistant to that.

Just lie on the ground with your knees bent upward and your feet flat on the floor. You can do the arms extended method, the arms crossed over your chest method, or fingers laced behind your head. I like to use my 2 20# dumbbells to hold my feet down. BTW I did 100 regular situps, 100 crunches, and 100 obliques last night. :)

I guess one shouldn't grapple with a heavy opponent.

Especially if it's QoH. ;P

How much of a change in the culture of the sport would it take though?

It would certainly shake up all the weight classes. Everyone would have to fight at higher weights. It probably wouldn't matter to the heavyweights, though.

In soccer...

Yeah, for years there was talk of having instant video replay for baseball and the argument was that it would slow things down even more. But they finally implemented it and I think it's great. It doesn't take that long and it determines crucial outs that the umpires got wrong, or balls that were foul or not. Peeps are always resistant until it's implemented, then they see that it's a good thing.

In other news we had a hell of a heavy rain storm yesterday. It rained for about 30 - 45 minutes and the whole street out front was flooded and came up about a meter into our driveway. It's supposed to rain again today. I can already hear the thunder. :/

Then do as many as you want. Just do some. Bring sexy back. ;P

The "rainy season" has arrived. Last year it was early and started in May. At least with it rainy in August it can cool things down a bit as long as it stays cloudy. If it rains early in the day and then the sun comes out it can get steamy and gross. :/

In general I like a good thunderstorm. It's quite relaxing. :)

Yeah, me too. I like a good electrical light show with 'em, too. :)

Yeah, I've been taking walks around the center of town. We have a small park there so that's nice.

I think she went to Greece with some friends of hers, a couple of decades go. She took the family to Tenerife a couple of years a go.

I travel in my head, I guess. Also, I find it hard to imagine that things are that much different in other countries. Sure, there's the language and some of the culture, but what so great about that? My sister does not even speak French, so I don't think she goes there for the culture.

They're not. I like the change in scenery, the sights or historical places, and the food.

People are mostly the same regardless of location. It just varies in degrees and styles of assholishness. ;P

I don't think she goes there for the culture.

Coming from someone who was raised in an Anglocentric household, who the hell goes to France for the French? ;P

France is good for the scenery and food.

The one good thing about living in the ol' USA is it's a bigass country and there is lots of variety in scenery. I was watching that Bear Grylls program the other night and he was with Michelle Rodriguez this time in some red rock desert place in Nevada. I had never seen that particular place before. The different sandstone formations were rather beautiful. Although there is no way in hell that I would have eaten a mouse boiled in my own piss. :O Not. Gonna. Happen.

Well then. I just turned on the 4pm news and the lead story was that 3 guys robbed my former client's jewelry store. They tied up 3 employees with duct tape and then pepper sprayed them, then they smashed the cases and stole jewelry and took some cash also. The owner (client's mom) said that one of the victim's was one of her grandson's, so that was likely one of my client's kids. That sucks for them. What a traumatic thing to go through. :(

Jeez. Why do people do these things? It's just so stupid.

It's still warm here BTW. I can see on the internet that there is a lot of rain in the part of France where my sister is now. I bet she's regretting going there. We got lots of sunshine sis! ;P

Allegedly. Rodriguez made all sorts of faces and carried on like she was grossed out. I take most of what I see on TV with a grain of salt, though. IMO, it seemed kinda unnecessary to kill a mouse if they were only out in the desert for one night. People can survive one night without eating. And IMO there were other options for water other than drinking one's own piss. There were numerous desert plants around which means that there had to be moisture at their roots. I know they're making a TV show and shock value helps ratings, but I'm just sayin'. ;P (and it's not like they're going to let something bad happen to celebrities. They had all kinds of equipment with them anyway. I'm sure they didn't really go out there without water.)

Why do people do these things? It's just so stupid.

One segment of the population sees it as their "culture" and thinks they are entitled to steal.

That was about 15 years ago, I think. I went to the Efteling with my sister and her husband and her only son at the time. She was pregnant with the second one, if I remember correctly.

Not a dominant culture, but they certainly count for a disproportionate amount of crime.

I went to the Efteling

That place seems petty cool. Do they have any giant vermin walking around? ;P

Well, the sunny-ness didn't last long. The satellite image on the weather report showed big thunderstorms flaring up from the Everglades and moving eastward. By the time I got the mower out, the storms were already blocking the sun. At least it made it less hot. I managed to finish everything in 1 hour and 45 minutes. It was very cloudy by then but the rain seemed to have kept north of here. :)

Red (and Red2)

Red was a fun little movie but the sequel wasn't as good and didn't really add much different from the first.

black ghetto culture

Where is this black ghetto situated in Florida? Is its' culture different from other ghettos?

I'm not sure but I don't think we really have what I would call 'ghettos' in my country. There are places where mainly immigrants live but those look pretty good. Not particularly run-down or anything.

There are places (an "asielzoekerscentrum") where asylum seekers are put up who have to wait to see if they'll be allowed in the country. They look okay I guess. I'm not sure what kind of culture exists there. It's probably a mix.

Do they have any giant vermin walking around?

I'm sure they'd be sued pretty quickly if they did. ;P

Well, it's Friday again. You know, now and again I'm having trouble keeping track of which day of the week it is. It's all changing so fast. Do you have any plans for the weekend?

Wherever blacks live in great quantities, they seem to turn the nicest areas to ghettos.

Is its' culture different from other ghettos?

Most other cultures don't seem to turn their areas to ghettos.

I'm having trouble keeping track of which day of the week it is.

Yeah, me too. I have to look at the day/date on the caller ID when I pass by to see what the date is. I haven't *quite* lost track of the day (although a couple weeks ago I thought it was Sunday when it was actually Saturday and was gathering up the garbage so I could take the wheelie bin to the curb ;P).

Do you have any plans for the weekend?

Not really. I'm sure QoH will want to make the shopping rounds today. I finished mowing and leaf blowing the yard yesterday, but need to weed whack some things out back. I also need to trim the hedges/shrubs since QoH was complaining that it all doesn't get done at the same time and so it never looks tidy all at once. Easy for her to say as IIRC she has never mowed this yard or did all the shrubs EVER. The only thing she has ever done is piddle with stuff and make a big mess. She's never to my knowledge done any of the hard stuff. She has always had my dad or me to do it. :/

You should get a goat. The eat almost anything, grass, shrubs. And you get milk from them. You can turn that into cheese. Goat cheese is better than all other cheeses. :)

The truth is racist. Ask anyone where they can find a really nice majority black area and all you will hear is the sound of crickets chirping. :)

It would be stolen and end up as a curry. ;P

Goat cheese is better than all other cheeses. :)

While I do like goat cheese, I'm not sure of the veracity of that statement. ;P

Well, QoH was in a particularly ornery mood today. She got nasty with me immediately after I got up and then got into a verbal altercation with the guy next door because it turns out that he has been spraying weed killer on QoH's plants that are by the fence and killed part of the hedge that has been there for more than 50 years. Her getting into it with him will accomplish nothing positive as he'll likely continue doing it until all the plants over there are dead, and more likely he'll escalate things just to spite her.

Afterward, I've had to hear her bitching about it for the last 5 hours and will likely continue to hear about it until she is dead. :/

I did manage to weed whack the things I needed to and trimmed the one shrubbery in the front. It was just too hot and humid today so I didn't finish all the hedges. I'll have to do it tomorrow(weather permitting).

Anything going on with you?

Maybe you need a better fence?

Also, is your neighbor perhaps black and trying to turn the neighborhood into a ghetto? ;P

No, not really. I've run out of comic-books to read. I got some DVDs from the library but they're pretty boring. I can't play video-games for too long because my neck starts to tense up from it. Honestly, at the moment I'm just counting myself lucky that I don't have to listen to your mother's bitching as I'm sure that would suck more.

I'm talking American black areas. Ones from the Caribbean, and in particular those from former British colonies behave differently. There are still different socioeconomic classes, though. And Kenya is a former British colony. There's something about Anglo-Protestant governance that leads to success. Look at Hong Kong for instance.

is your neighbor perhaps black and trying to turn the neighborhood into a ghetto? ;P

Actually he is. And before he moved in, the people who had bought the house and fixed it up to flip it had landscaped the yard. One of the first things he did was tear out all the plants because he didn't want to bother with the extra work it took to mow and weed whack around them. He's very lazy and even told QoH when he first moved in that he doesn't want any plants or trees in his yard to deal with. He even went so far as to tell the neighbor on the other side (who is from Africa) to trim his side of the hedge too (there were originally hedges along the lot lines). The African guy keeps his side nice and tidy.

You know, I'd love to see that garden of yours. :)

Unfortunately it rained enough to get everything wet today. I had went out earlier to check to see how wet everything was since it rained some last night and it looked like it was going to be sunny. (Electric hedge trimmers and water don't mix.) Just as I came back inside a passing shower came and got everything really wet again. Hopefully it'll dry out in a few hours so I can finish the shrubbery in the front. Maybe I can get a pic when it's all finished. :)

I'm talking American black areas.

You know, looking back, I don't think you are. You're just calling it black areas but what you mean is people with a particular culture that they inherited from their Caribbean et al ancestors.

It's probably good to remember that there are toxic elements in any culture that can lead to conflict (like say in Northern Ireland) including cultures of populations that are mainly white.

Maybe it would be good to in the future name the actual cultures involved rather than a particular skin color in order to avoid the insinuation of genetic disposition? Because that's how it comes across.

Maybe I can get a pic when it's all finished.

That would definitely be appreciated by me. :)

So is the USA.

This country has not been under UK rule for almost 240 years. Plus there has been a lot of other cultural influences. It's lost most of the British culture.

Hard and smart work tends to lead to success, I guess. It doesn't take a particular skin color to see that.

I would tend to agree with that. So why is it that so many American blacks can't see that and reject hard work and education?

When I was in JrHS my best friend was a Afro-Caribbean girl from one of the former British ruled islands(I don't recall which, it wasn't Jamaica). She used to complain to me all the time about the American black kids and how they would make fun of her for studying hard and getting good grades and call her "acting white" for doing so. She used to tell me how stupid she thinks they are and that's why her parents started sending her to our private school so she could get an education without being harassed.

Anyway, I've known all sorts and most take issue with ghetto-acting blacks. I'm basing my opinion on a lifetime of observation and experience. If you lived here you would see what I mean.

there are toxic elements in any culture

Sure, but most will condemn the toxic aspects and not excuse away the behavior.

to avoid the insinuation of genetic disposition?

Oh, but I do believe there is a genetic element to it. You would agree that there are differences in disposition as well as physical differences between "races" and ethnicities? What would be called stereotypes have a basis in reality. Generally speaking, aren't East Asians described as industrious, quiet and emotionally subdued, whereas others are very emotional and boisterous, others adventurous and risk takers? Some are very hard working but not risk takers? There of course is a spectrum, but one can make generalizations about certain cultures? The "paint job" can be an indicator of what behavior to expect. Like I said before, I've known all sorts and get along with most anyone. Some "cultures" just aren't very harmonious with others.

That would definitely be appreciated by me. :)

Well, I don't know if I'll be able to get a pic any time soon. QoH has gone full psycho today to the point where her behavior was really disturbing. She is definitely mentally ill. She flipped out on me while I was trying to wash the dishes after I asked her to please let me clean the grease out of the frying pan my way. She started screaming that she's not going to let me tell her what to do and then started accusing me of being physically and verbally abusive all while screaming at me that I'm a piece of crap and that she hates me and kept repeating that she hates me over and over like a broken record to the point where I just had to come up to my bedroom and lock the door to get away from her. Like how dare I ask her nicely to allow me to do something my way? The reaction to a simple request was so crazy that it was literally scary. Her need to control is so extreme that she can't even allow me to clean out grease and wash a damn frying pan my own way? That's some sort of physical threat to her? It's fucking insane. :/

I wasn't talking about "UK rule" so much as that "Anglo-Protestant governance" that you were talking about. Didn't the USA inherit that culture from the UK?

I suppose it's also partly German and Dutch. Such a pity about New Amsterdam. Damn nutmeg. ;P

So why is it that so many American blacks can't see that and reject hard work and education?

I don't know how many American black people do that. Maybe those who do don't think very highly of themselves. Maybe they've been led to believe there's no hope, that they can't win anyway. Maybe a lot of black communities are filled with QoHs or other PDs? I don't know.

about the American black kids and how they would make fun of her

That's definitely a toxic element in those kids' culture. It's anti-establishment thinking, mostly anti-white racism.

If you lived here you would see what I mean.

That suggests it's a local issue. We have local issues with for instance Moroccans in some of the large cities. New immigrants don't always do well there. It's hard to adapt, I guess. It's hard for me to imagine the culture shock they must experience when they arrive here. Never having been in a foreign country, It's hard to believe such a culture shock is even a real phenomenon.

most will condemn the toxic aspects and not excuse away the behavior.

It takes time and influence by the mainstream culture though. It took a lot of time in Northern Ireland. It took about 40 years in the USSR (and it may take even longer there now).

You would agree that there are differences in disposition as well as physical differences between "races" and ethnicities?

Sure, in different parts of the world certain behaviors are more dominant then others. But I don't think its at all easy to separate the cultural from the genetic.

What would be called stereotypes have a basis in reality.

Even if they do, they're still unfair generalizations. Over here in Europe the stereotype of white Americans is that they're racist. I know that that is just a lie but how many lies do we mistake for stereotypes with a 'basis in reality'?

The "paint job" can be an indicator of what behavior to expect.

But is that how you treat people in real life? Not as individuals who you still have to get to know before you can judge their character? What's the point of such an "indicator"?

It's fucking insane. :/

Yeah, I'd definitely put her on the left or right side of some PD Bell curve. Don't worry about the pic. There's no rush. :)

Somewhat. But there has been Catholic and other influences over the years. Canada for instance (aside from the French part in Quebec) is very British still.

Such a pity about New Amsterdam. Damn nutmeg. ;P

One can only wonder what would have happened if De Ruyter had taken his can of whoop-ass up there after his whoop-ass campaign in the Caribbean. ;P

That suggests it's a local issue.

It's a problem with them everywhere in this country, not just here.

Over here in Europe the stereotype of white Americans is that they're racist.

The irony of that is it's white Americans who are generally the most tolerant and accepting of others.

But is that how you treat people in real life?

No. I am polite with everyone unless they prove themselves to be an asshole and then I will avoid them as much as possible.

What's the point of such an "indicator"?

It's a heads up on what to expect. Like for instance, my Colombian friend described Peruvians as "subservient". IMO that description is a bit insulting, I'd say they are kinda passive, but work hard and are helpful. At least the ones I've known have been that way. Now Colombians like to have a good time and party, are very fun loving and very demonstrative. So Arekino would want to beware because they would come and hug on him and drag him out of his bedroom to have a good time whether he wanted to or not. ;P Whereas Dutch folks idea of a wild time is sitting around having a nice chat and maybe a game of cards. Or for a real wild time the ones in upstate NY go out for a game of ninepins. ;P

You've been spending too much time with me (and my parents, I guess). Most Dutch people are more like my sister who definitely knows how to have a good time. I'm just a freak. :)

I have to add, there are different attitudes throughout the country. Although I guess I depend on various stereotypes WRT that. :)

and that was just a friendly.

A lot of coaches will use friendly matches to try out different strategies and new players. They usually don't have their ideal team playing. Then again 8-0 is pretty impressive.

Yeah, Jill Ellis had started a couple players who usually don't start and was trying a 4-4-2 configuration. Kristen Press IIRC got a freakin' hat trick. Julie Johnston who plays defense got a beautiful goal off a Rapinoe corner. Hell, Johnston was playing like her usual beastly self and getting in on a lot of offense. It was really entertaining. :)

Perhaps it's a regional thing?

I'm not sure what you mean. My sister and I are from the same region, same town in fact. We largely grew up together. Only during puberty did we start leading rather different kind of lives.

I'm fairy certain they are part koala.

In what sense? Do they smell like eucalyptus?

have you ever found or know of anyone finding old WW1 or WW2 debris/artifacts/crap near where you live?

Yeah, they've found some old munition when digging around the outskirts of town. There are houses built there now and they had to do a thorough investigation of the area before building anything there. There are still archaeologists active in my town. They make it into the news now and again.

Why do you ask? Have you found something?

They like to hug all over you like a koala. They don't smell like eucalyptus. ;P

Why do you ask? Have you found something?

Nope. Just reading a blog where they were discussing going to a town market and someone was selling all sorts of WW1 & WW2 crap that they had found. Seems rather common to find old debris in some areas of Europe.

Hey, have you gotten any Security Errors when you try to access my blog? There seems to be some sort of issue with my Gmail account and I can't access it fom my computer. I could sign in to Gmail but it wouldn't display my mail. Weird. I'm gonna see if I can go use the nabes' computer to see if I can discover the problem. :/

No, not at all.

I could sign in to Gmail but it wouldn't display my mail.

That's very odd. Could be a setting in your Gmail, I suppose, but that seems rather unlikely. Unless someone besides you has been messing with your Gmail settings.

Does Gmail display anything else? Is there any indication that emails have been deleted? Can you still send emails?

I guess, if you can't solve the problem on your own then you could send an email to Google. They probably have customer service people for that.

I don't think that is the case. I think there's something screwy with the ISP. I get a "This Connection Is Untrusted" message and then the details says:

"accounts.google.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate will not be valid until 8/12/2015 10:50 AM. The current time is 6/21/2015 8:28 PM. (Error code: sec_error_expired_certificate)"

When I used my neighbors' computer, it logged in fine. I used the private browsing feature in their browser so it didn't record any of the sites or log-ins that I used.

I get the same kind of security warning whether I use Firefox or IE on my computer. Anyway, I did a security exception for my blog so that's why I'm able to use it. Also I can sign in to Fanfic, so I'm mostly good to go.

It seems that any time I try to use a site that's secure I get that warning and I can't access them. It's really pissing me off. :/

Oooooookay.....now I just feel like a damn moron. I figured out what the problem was. Somehow the other day when I was looking up something on my computer's calendar, I accidentally changed the current date to 2 months ago. Now I can sign in to my Gmail and access all the other secure sites. :)

Meh, the fights weren't very good. There's supposed to be some UFC on Sunday, so hopefully those will be more interesting.

And what are you up to on this fine Saturday? Is your sis back from France? When do the kidlets start back at school? The ones here start back on Monday which will make the traffic even worse than usual with all the school buses clogging the roadways. :/

She arrived at her home Saturday evening at about 10:00 o'clock after an 11 hour drive. She may visit us today in the afternoon but maybe not.

When do the kidlets start back at school?

Don't know. I guess they still have a couple of weeks? Their father will apparently have to go back to work this Monday.

all the school buses clogging the roadways

We don't have school buses. We do have regular buses that get clogged up with students. :/

I just watched the last part of the Hobbit trilogy. It's a bit underwhelming. Particularly the ending. I'm still amazed they managed to turn a 300 page book into 3 movies.

after an 11 hour drive

:O Who did all the driving? I can no longer tolerate long road trips. (Especially if it means being stuck in a car with QoH ;P) The last time I drove any long distance was almost 9 years ago when I went to Okeechobee to visit my friend from HS. IIRC that was maybe 2.5 hours there and 2.5 back again. My right calf was sore from pushing the gas pedal for so long. My car has cruise control but it is nearly impossible to use that because of the way all the idiots drive on the highway. :/

When I was a kid I just slept the whole time. ;)

She may visit us today

I wouldn't feel up to it. Did they at least have a good time?

We don't have school buses.

That must save a fortune in tax money. The idiots here in Miami-Dade County have the largest fleet of school buses in the whole damn country. All that expense plus all the people to drive them, maintain them, etc. plus this year they were all proud of themselves for equipping them with wifi. And they gave all the little bastards "free" tablets. Nothing is free. It just means they raise everyone's taxes to pay for all that shit. :/

It's a bit underwhelming. Particularly the ending.

This seems to be the consensus.

I'm still amazed they managed to turn a 300 page book into 3 movies.

Yes, and it's the shortest book IIRC. I think they also used some parts of the Silmarillion.

I heard on Friday night that Holly Holm is supposed to fight Rousey in January. Bas Rutten (who thinks like I do) had pointed out that Rousey always comes out charging at her opponents like a bull, so whoever is going to fight her needs to have everyone who trains with them to bull rush in practice. I had thought of this myself a while back, but since I'm a smartass I thought that maybe one should train with a matador. ;P Anyway, it's all irrelevant to me as I've stopped caring. ;)

Hm. My sister seems to have had a good time. I'm not so sure about the kids. Oh, they still have a week of vacation time left BTW.

Nothing is free.

They could have had the little bastards pay for it and they didn't. So in that sense, it's gratis. But I suppose realize that.

Yup. ;P

I like Holly Holm but I don't think she'll win. The 2 UFC fights I've seen her in weren't very impressive. I think the only reason she's getting the shot is they don't want another fight with Miesha Tate who was the only fighter to actually go 3 rounds with Rousey. I think they're afraid if they gave Tate a 3rd shot, she might actually win. She's improved her fighting a lot and I think she's probably the one other fighter other than Cyborg with a legitimate shot. Gotta keep that gravy train rolling. Although, how many people are going to keep buying Rousey PPV's when they know the fight isn't even going to go 1 minute? On the forums I read most don't buy her PPV's and they'd only buy one if it was against Cyborg.

Yeah, good question. You don't get much for your money. How much money is that BTW?

Well, she's got till January.

I just finished watching the movie "The Judge". On the one hand it's one of those prodigal-son-returns-to-small-american-town stories but on the other hand they really made an effort to keep the movie fresh. Has some really good acting in it as well.

I tried watching "Chef" with Jon Favreau but it didn't appeal to me. There are already so many cooking shows on TV that this movie just seemed a little too much of a good thing.

"Whiplash" and "Fury" are next.

IIRC around $50.

Well, she's got till January.

She needs to listen to me and Bas Rutten since Bas gives basically the same advice and strategies as I do. Don't let Rousey get near enough to clinch. Keep it standing and let her chase you around. Holm can kick pretty well. She throws kick combinations like some peeps throw punch combinations. She needs to utilize straight kicks instead of the usual roundhouse types. And NO SINGLE KICKS without a punch setup or follow up. High front kicks and side kicks would be good since they're hard to defend or catch. And maybe a good ol' Bas Rutten liver kick FTW. ;P

Rousey's punching mechanics are horrible(unless her trainers have worked on that with her). She allegedly KO'd Correia, but the small clip I saw of that she still looked awkward throwing punches and must've got a lucky shot behind Correia's ear to stun her. IMO I think they stop these fights way too soon to give Rousey the wins.

Holm needs to find the best Judo trainer she can get and train for all the throws and shit they do so she knows what to expect. And WATCH TAPES of Rousey's previous fights. I just don't get fighters who refuse to watch tapes of their opponent. That's a Sun Tzu biggie--know your enemy!

"The Judge"

With Robert Downey Jr and Robert Duvall? I saw that a couple months ago. It was okay. I haven't seen the other ones you mentioned.

Well, QoH has finally decided to ditch the worthless cell phones we have with T-Mobile and we are supposed to go to the Metro PCS store tomorrow to see what they have to offer. She wants an old flip style phone since she's paranoid of the govt spying with the new style phones(and she doesn't know how to use them because technology). I want a new one but I guess I won't be getting one since she's paranoid. :/

Aren't you more likely to be off balance when kicking?

That's why I thought of matador-style evasion techniques. ;P

Yes, which is why I suggest front kicks or side kicks. Front kicks obviously have your momentum going forward and it's more difficult to defend. Roundhouse kicks have you leaning somewhat back and to the side and you are more off balance with those.

Not even if you buy it with your own money?

I don't have any money. Even if I did, the fit she would throw about it would not make it worth it. If I actually had a job, theoretically I could buy my own and switch the sim card and use the other one while I was away from her.

I reeeeally need a job. I'm getting very stressed about the whole situation. Every time I mention about trying to get a job she says no one will hire me because I'm American and white. I don't think that is true. You can't get hired if you don't apply to anything. I think it's like a self fulfilling prophesy type thing with her. She always likes to play the victim, never taking responsibility for her own choices. She discourages me from trying and then gets to blame me for not trying to find a job. It's very crazy making. :(

I feel really embarrassed about asking anyone I used to know for help, but I might have to resort to that. QoH will flip because she hates for anyone to know anything about her personal situation. It's all a very self destructive attitude to have. It would be so much easier if I had some normal family to turn to, but I don't. I don't have any friends locally, so that is a big problem.

Also there is supposed to be a hurricane coming here or very close by Sunday or Monday. That is very stressful mainly because QoH freaks out and makes the situation worse. We also have all sorts of meats in 3 freezers that would all go bad if the power goes out.

BTW, didn't get the new phones today as there was a very heavy rain and lightning storm and she didn't want to go out in it. :/

Ugh, QoH was being nasty with me earlier (the usual name calling and projecting her nastiness onto me). I was soooo fed up that if I had anywhere to go/someone to take me in I would have went then and there. Unfortunately, I don't. All I could think about is I need to find a job ASAP. I looked at a couple places on the 'toobs and got instant anxiety just thinking about working in those places. (one was Trump International Resort). I've only ever worked in small venue/mom and pop type companies, not any large corporate places. I feel like I'm going to hurl just looking at the job descriptions. I really, really wish I had a different personality and/or some confidence. The Trump job has really great benefits. It just freaks me out, though. Too much pressure. I think I have anxiety disorder or something (thanks to being raised by QoH with her constant criticism and always making me feel like I can never do anything right :/ ).

I even chickened out when I sent an email to my friend's mother earlier. I wanted to ask her if she knew anyone who would hire me for any kind of job, but didn't want to come across as someone who only makes contact when they want something. I just said I was updating my email contacts in hopes that she would respond with some pleasantries and then I could get my foot in the door that way.

God, I feel like such an idiot. :/

If you can handle working with your mother than you should easily be able to work with normal people, it seems to me.

We've been having that as well this past week. Maybe not as bad as where you're at.

I really, really wish I had a different personality and/or some confidence.

Nobody's perfect. I like most of who you are. :)

Confidence can be tricky, I know that. I suspect a lot of it comes with habit. As in, the more you do something, the more confident you get.

You always seem confident when it comes to doing your particular job.

It just freaks me out, though. Too much pressure.

Well, I certainly know how that feels.

I feel like such an idiot.

Meh, the foot-in-the-door email sounds pretty clever. And your not an idiot. :)

IDK, I've been arguing with QoH for most of the day over the cell phone issue + other nonsense. We went to the Metro PCS place and they want a lot of money for 2 piece of crap phones + activation charge + 1st month service. We didn't get the phones. Argued with QoH afterward then I came home to call T-Mobile to cancel their service and of course they tried to keep me with them by offering new phones. One for QoH (a flip-style phone completely free) and one for me a Samsung Galaxy that I would only have to pay tax + shipping. She said that would be less than $30. So 2 decent phones for $30 as opposed to that expensive mess for shit phones. When you add up the cost of one year service with T-Mobile + the $30 to ship the 2 new phones it comes to $22.48 more than the service for 1 year with Metro. To me it's a better deal to stay with T-Mobile. But that would be logical.

We had a big fight during and after I was on the phone with the T-Mobile rep. I felt kinda bad for her, she was nice. She said she'd call us back tomorrow to give us time to decide on what to do. QoH likes the fact that you can just go into the Metro store to pay the bill each month because our postal service around here has turned to shit and we don't get out bills in the mail half the time.

Ugh, it's all such a fucking mess. No decision has been made yet. She's trying to blame me for everything like it is some grand conspiracy on my part to finagle to get a new smart phone. My main motivation was to get the best phones possible for the best price. Metro is only like $10 less per month than we pay now.

I have such a headache from stress it isn't even funny. :/

I looked into jobs at Trump last night and they are hiring for a bunch of different positions but none of them I have experience in. The benefits are excellent, though. I have no idea how much the actual pay is. One position that they gave didn't give the job description. I'm interested to know.

My friend's mom emailed me back. She's moving to a condo soon. She didn't say when or where. I'd like to see or speak to her after all this hurricane mess is over.

Anyway, thanks for your support. :) I'll maybe write some more here tonight. I hope you are having a better time of thing than me.

Yes. A minor miracle has occurred. She let me go ahead and do the deal with our current carrier, so a new flip phone for her and a Galaxy Prime for me. ;) And it's only costing me about $23 for tax and shipping(the phone was almost $300 which the charge was waived--QoH would flip out if she knew. The service rep is supposed to do a couple follow-ups with me in the next couple weeks to make sure everything is okay and all charges are waived, so that's cool of her. :)

Unless you're running really low on money?

Yes, that too. :/

In other news, it won't be a hurricane but maybe a strong tropical storm with lots of rain--not good for the roof. :/ At least it's better than a hurricane. September is the busy month for hurricanes so I'm hoping we don't get any.

Is this a subscription with a monthly fee?

BTW if you're going to use it for surfing the web then you should make sure that the phone uses the WIFI of your home for that (unless you want to surf outside). If it uses the normal cell phone connection for it then it could get costly quickly.

Is there that much difference? Less wind, maybe?

What does that mean?

The rep told me that the company stopped doing contracts about 2 years ago. Usually what happened was if you wanted to upgrade your phone you could get one for free or for a small fee if you took a contract (usually 1 or 2 years). People started getting pissed about being locked into a contract for 2 years--if you broke the contract and cancelled service it cost several hundred dollars to do so. So now that they don't do contracts, you have to pay the full price of the phone then a monthly fee for usage. Since we have been customers for nearly 10 years, they don't want to lose us as customers, so when I called to cancel our service they transferred me to a rep from the customer loyalty dept who has the authority to offer free phones and stuff to try to keep you as a customer. So what she did was waive the price of the Galaxy (which was well over $200) and I only had to pay the tax and shipping on it. I think there was supposed to be an additional monthly charge of around $10 for that phone, but she was supposed to waive that as well. That's why she is doing a couple follow-ups with me, to make sure all the extra charges are waived and we continue to only pay our normal monthly plan bill.

Is this a subscription with a monthly fee?

Yes, we've had the same family share plan for almost 10 years.

If it uses the normal cell phone connection for it then it could get costly quickly.

Our plan used to be 500 anytime minutes + nights and weekends free unlimited and calls between the 2 phones on the plan were unlimited minutes. Last November IIRC they changed the plan to unlimited talk, text, and data. I wasn't planning to use the new phone for surfing as I'm paranoid about security. I mainly wanted it for the camera and video features.

Is there that much difference? Less wind, maybe?

We got lucky as the storm has been downgraded to a tropical low pressure system. It did not survive its interaction with the 10,000 ft mountains of Hispaniola. It still has Cuba to cross before it moves toward Florida. We'll just be getting some rain now, no wind thank God. :)

Anyway, yesterday QoH had me go out and trim a bunch of limbs from one of the mango trees. Our utility lines were running through it. I managed to get a bunch cleared away from the phone lines, but I wasn't going to chance trying to cut near the power line. I didn't want to end up as Crispy Xul yesterday. ;P

It was very hot and humid and I was out there working for about 5 hours. I was thoroughly exhausted. I damn near didn't have enough energy to carry the heavy ass extension ladder back to the carport. :/

Friday when I was fighting all day with QoH, the final bit of nonsense was she had wanted to go to fill up 2 gas cans ahead of the storm just in case we needed it for the generator or whatever. Then she refused to go. Since that was something important, I went and asked my neighbor if he would take me since it's only a couple blocks away. He agreed and I complained to him about QoH and being out of work etc. I had asked him about his workplace (Jungle Island) and he told me that they have a banquet room there and he could see if he could talk to the guy who runs that dept. Yesterday when I was putting the ladder away, he came home and told me he talked to the guy and that today when he went into work he'd pick up an application for me and get me the guy's phone number so I could call him and inquire about a job. :)

We shall see what happens. :)

The so called "professionals" were out here about a week and a half to 2 weeks ago and they didn't cut anything that should have been cut. They only cut a measly couple small branches that were near the line that feeds the light pole, but not all the damn branches that are going into the FP&L pole that all the different utility lines are strung up to. >:(

You'll be working in no time.

Comic stores seem to be more than just selling merchandise. There is one that just recently opened up near a store we shop at and every time we go by there they have all sorts of events going on there. I guess the young people gather for card tournaments and different things. Seems like a very popular hang-out.

Occasionally. I think after almost 2 years of doing so my interest is waning a bit.

I have been watching ladies soccer matches recently. I watched a couple NWSL matches recently. One between the Seattle Reign and Houston and another between the Portland Thorns and Washington Spirit. The Thorns vs Spirit one was a real barn burner--ended in a 3-3 tie. Nadine Angerer(German Natl Team)is the goal keeper for the Thorns and Ashlyn Harris (goalie) and Ally Krieger of the Spirit both played for the USWNT. There is a lot of good international talent playing in that league. The matches are very entertaining.

I'm currently watching a ladies college soccer match between Ohio State and Texas. Kinda sloppy play and scoreless ATM. :/

QoH is still being a nasty piece of work. I tried to get the lawn mowed earlier(well, just before it got dark). I got most of the front done but didn't finish before it got too dark to see. QoH had to stand out there and monitor me for most of it. That pisses me off so damn bad. >:(

I'll have to finish up tomorrow. My life sucks. :/

You and my dad would get along, I suspect. He likes to watch womens' soccer as well. (also, any other kind of soccer :)

Kinda sloppy play and scoreless ATM.

#Homer's voice# Stupid soccer living up to the stereotype. ;P

QoH had to stand out there and monitor me for most of it

You should have stuck a torch in her ass, for better lighting. At least she'd be useful then.

My life sucks.

I'll still be reading your memoirs though, "My Life As A Lawnmower". ;P

Before you ask, I do not have any memoirs to read as I don't have a life. :)

Probably. I seem to get along well with my friends' parents. ;)

I think I like the ladies' game better--less diving. ;P

Well, in their defense they *were* playing in Texas and it was 94F degrees. They were literally taking time for water breaks around every 20 minutes. I don't know how they made it through the first half. The poor things ended up playing overtime. D: It still ended scoreless. :/

Anyway, I finished the mowing today and then the weed whacking in the back yard. It was around 90F today. I had to take many breaks. Also the new phones were delivered just as I was wheeling the mower back to the house.

QoH is not pleased. She started her BS about sending them back and cancelling the service. I'm soooo stressed out from her BS it isn't even funny. It's like dealing with an elderly toddler throwing tantrums and being ridiculous, illogical, and unreasonable. I am at my wits' end.

The flip phone that they sent her for FREE is literally the same damn model that she is willing to pay $50 each for from MetroPCS. It's soooo ridiculous. She is going to PAY to send back FREE phones so she can then go BUY 2 of same damn flip phone and then pay an activation fee + 1st month usage. It defies logic. I am so over it. I feel like I'm going insane here and I have no one to turn to for help. :/

Has she done that already? Maybe if you wait a while she'll change her mind? I mean, maybe she's argumentative because you proved her wrong?

You basically outdid her. How's an NPD supposed to handle that? :)

What are her arguments for rejecting these phones?

Not yet. She's still in the threat mode.

Last night I took both phones and charged them. The flip phone for her is actually not so bad. I took the old SIM card out of her old phone and put it in the new one. The old SIM from my old phone didn't fit the new one so I had to install the new SIM that came with it. I think they have to activate it at the T-Mobile store for it to work. Her phone works now.

She had a fit about it today when she discovered what I had done. She's still threatening to send them back. It even ended up with her threatening me with vague threats. I asked her to clarify and she told me 'you're the genius, you figure it out'. She *loves* to insult me by calling me 'genius'. Then a bit later she told me she 'hates my fucking guts'. That's not the first time she told me she hates me. It's a common occurrence lately.

You basically outdid her. How's an NPD supposed to handle that? :)

I don't know that I did. She handles everything with yelling and threats.

What are her arguments for rejecting these phones?

That she 'despises them and they are pieces of shit' (Like me. She has been calling me a piece of shit regularly lately.).

Anyway, I am really and truly at my wits' end. In an act of desperation I called my friend's mom just a while ago and somewhat told her the situation. She wasn't much help aside from someone to listen. She had mentioned something about having worked as a aide for an elderly person for a while. I asked her if she had any contacts to get me a job like that and she said she would try. I really hope that pans out. I like working with elderly peeps. And she said they were Jewish and in Boca and I have experience with those peeps in that area. :) I will keep my fingers crossed on that. I reeeeeeally need work and to be out of the house away from all this nonsense. :/

Really? You struck a better bargain than she could WRT the phone replacement business. She knows that. She can't handle it very well. Which I'd expect for a Narcissist as it makes her look "bad".

It makes you look superior to her. Which you are, of course. :)

I asked her if she had any contacts to get me a job like that and she said she would try.

Good. :)

Ya know, she's literally nuts. All that viciousness and then today she's acting normal(well, as normal as she gets)and we go to the phone store and have the phones activated. Nearly 2 weeks of stress over something that is so simple(to someone normal). I literally lost 5 pounds from the anxiety it caused me. Totally crazy-making. :/

Now I have to learn how to use my new Galaxy. :)

So what are you up to in non-bizarro world? I am trying to unwind after 6 hours of shopping with QoH today. There is some MMA on ATM and tomorrow there is much soccer and then a UFC event. :)

Watching an anime on Youtube. Looking for a new game to play as I've quit playing Warframe. Just relaxing a bit, I guess.

Should be adequate for unwinding purposes. :)

Must be nice to not live with a crazy person and be able to just relax.

If there was no QoH around. ;P

Then again, there's always more around the corner. :)

I bought some pot roasts and a smoked picnic ham yesterday. They hadn't had that particular type of ham at the store for a few months. We had spoken to the manager and he said that he could order them. The next time we went in he said they didn't come in and then said the item was unavailable. That was 3 weeks ago. Then yesterday when I went in, behold! There they were! so I picked the biggest one and asked the butcher to cut it into steaks for me. Today I cooked some and packaged up the rest to freeze.

Also, when we got home last night, it was past 9pm and dark and I noticed that the brake light and backing-up light on the driver's side of QoH's truck were out, so today I tried to replace them. Luckily there were some bulbs in a drawer in the laundry room, but I only managed to replace the brake light because I couldn't get the other one to go in. It had started thundering and getting dark so I just put everything back in place and I'll deal with it tomorrow.

I'm sure it is. It was that way when I lived on my own. Right now, my own mother isn't entirely sane either. Plus I'm somewhat hypersensitive, which doesn't help.

I don't think the cops are pulling peeps over for that any more. The one brake light has been out for a couple months. QoH only noticed it because the backing-up light went out as well. When the cops did pull you over for that they usually only gave a warning. I managed to change the burned out tag light on the driver's side as well today. I found it odd that all the driver's side lights were out, that's why I suspected a burned out fuse or something. Turned out it was just all burned out lights and a coincidence. I still have to get a new one for the backing-up light as the one I tried to replace it with was defective/broken and wouldn't go in.

Yes, always good to keep these peeps in line. Make 'em do their job or you'll find a new one. I personally think you need a nice young lady to put some excitement in your life, but that's just me. Maybe you don't need any of that. ;P

Supposed to buy some light bulbs for QoH's truck some time this week, don't know when she'll decide to go. I haven't done much phone fiddling. Somehow I'm not really that interested. And the damn battery goes down *fast*. I just keep it turned off most of the time like I did with my other one. I don't have anyone to call or anyone calling me(that I'd want to talk to--paternal unit keeps calling me and nagging me about that damn house even after I told him NO I'm NOT INTERESTED). I think I might have some mild depression as I feel unmotivated in general. :/

Maybe not. I'm getting pretty old now. Hormones are no longer as active.

I have to wonder what I could add to any woman's life. I don't have a life myself. What is in it for her that she can't get anywhere else? And she can probably get it better than from me. Easily.

She could offer me a place in her life but I'd feel like an intruder. Or a fraud. She can do better than me. I'm not sure I even want to deal with her life, the people in it. People always want things that I don't want give them or can't give them.

And the damn battery goes down *fast*

Have you disabled Bluetooth? That tends to drain the battery on my phone quite quickly.

Yeah, I know what ya mean. I feel the same way. I've never been allowed to be in any kind of relationship and the one time I did go out with someone, I felt like such a fraud. No one is going to put up with the family bullshit that I go through and I don't want to expose anyone to it either. It's both embarrassing to me and unfair to them. Same goes with friendships. No one wants to deal with crazy and it's unfair to put anyone through it.

I'm chronologically almost 40 but still treated like a child. I'll never be considered an adult by my parents. QoH said as much. And I've never been allowed to naturally go through all the age appropriate developmental life stages. I've allways been held back from doing normal things so I've never really learned. My emotional age doesn't really match my chronological age and no one wants to deal with that. I'm basically imprisoned until the 'rents finally croak and by then I'll likely be so damn old that it'll all be pointless.

Have you disabled Bluetooth?

I don't think it was ever enabled.

I have no one to call besides QoH or paternal unit, and I don't want to call him. I called QoH a couple times while I was in the store, once about the picnic ham and another time. And to check my voice mails(like 15 calls from paternal unit--harass much?).

Installed any interesting apps?

Nope.

I had stumbled into the Psychology Today website while following a link from PD forum to some article. While I was browsing different articles a found a link to a very interesting website of sorts. It was a 55 page letter that someone had written to their ex-partner who had some sort of PD. In it she describes a lot of behaviors that QoH exhibits. This person(the writer)posted the thing in its entirety in an effort to help anyone who finds themselves in a relationship with a PD. I'm about 2/3 of the way through and some of it was so spot-on that I just copied/pasted the whole damn thing into a Word document for future reference.

In other news, I talked to my nabe about the job. He said that he talked to the banquet director and the guy said he's there all the time and give him a call(I guess I'll have to get the # off the website myself). He also offered to take me down there on one of the days he works 1 show only to meet the guy. I eventually told QoH but I phrased it as if nabe approached me saying they had a position open in banquets and if I was interested. Of course as I knew she would do, she came up with a whole laundry list of reasons why I couldn't work there--I-95 is too dangerous to drive on, downtown is too dangerous, I will catch a disease from the clientele(LOL my personal favorite ;P), the clientele is dangerous, they won't pay much, it's too far to drive for too little pay(I have no idea what they pay), I will have to pay more money for health insurance that what I make, I will be raped and killed--it's so completely ridiculous that it boggles the mind. O_o

It's not my dream job, but it *is* a job. Ideally, I'd like to work for old Jewish peeps in Boca, but that kind of work has not presented itself to me. :/ It seems that no matter what I come up with, QoH will run it down and then complain that I don't try to find work. O_o

I forgot to mention that the new Iron Maiden album came out this week. They had a "Maiden Takeover" on the Sirius metal channel over the weekend. Seriously? They probably have one of the biggest global following for tours evar. I know a couple years ago when I found out they were going to be making a tour stop up at the hockey arena in Sunrise, just out of curiosity I went to see how much tickets were going for and they were already sold out(and that was like 3 months in advance). :O

I'm having dinner at a local restaurant with my family. They got to go for cheap this time so they couldn't resist.

I watched a couple of movies today. Freaky Deaky and Black Coal. That last one is a Chinese movie.

Oh, and I've been drawing a couple of elephants.

Still comic book reading?

Somewhat. That reminds me, I need to get me some new ones. :)

How's the weather over there?

Cooler, wetter. Autumn is coming.

LOL Reinforcing the stereotype. ;P And you sound like a Jamaican saying "for cheap". A Dutchman speaking patois would be kinda funny. ;P

So what kind of food did you have?

Cooler, wetter.

The cooler part is good. I'm tired of the heat and rain. I managed to get the entire yard mowed today before it rained. It did so only long enough to get everything wet. I didn't get a chance to clean up with the weed whacker and blower. Now all the leaf and grass debris will be stuck all over the sidewalks and street because of the rain. What a pain in the ass. :/

maybe you can stuff you QoH in it?

I'd need a crane to haul her up there. D:

The roof leaks are a pain in the ass, too. With shingles you can't see exactly where the leak is. You can only get a general idea when it stains the ceiling. A couple weeks ago when we got all that rain I tried to take a look through the opening to the upper attic but I couldn't see any water leaking through even though I could hear a drip. :/

There is a spot in my bedroom.

It needs a re-roof. The last time it was done was maybe 18 yeas ago. The cheap kind of shingle that was used only lasts for 15. It cost $3500 back then. The price is double now.

On a lighter note, I watched Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 last night. I thought it was pretty good. That series tends to keep me interested. I also watched a Kristen Wiig movie called Girl Most likely. It was quirky but good. Kristen Wiig is pretty funny. ;D I'm currently watching a Korean vampire movie called Thirst. I'll let you know how it was.

Well, that Korean vampire movie was boring crap. I didn't even finish watching it. Guardians of the Galaxy came on on another channel so I watched that instead. It was pretty decent for a comic book movie. ;P Lee Pace played the baddie(he is in Halt and Catch Fire). He's pretty good as villains/morally ambiguous characters.

Also today the "stalker" guy I used to work with came by again today to say that our old manager died(he was 90). Chatted a bit with him(maybe 5 minutes). It seems as if ex-boss' daughter who took over the business is still being her usual slave driver self. The one temple that they work out of has a school so they have been doing the lunches for the kids. The catch is that the workers who prepare and cook the food also have to do all the dish/pot washing/cleaning up as well because she's too cheap to hire a dish washer. I don't envy those peeps. Food prep is hard enough. So is being a dish washer. But to make the same peeps do both? That's just nuts. One more reason not to work for her. :/

Unrecognisably so. I liked him in Pushing Daisies. Karen Gillan was in GotG as well, also hard to recognize and not getting a lot of screen time.

I don't know how it was rated 3.5 out of 4 stars. The production value was good, I'll give them that. It looked decent visually, but the story was too far fetched and the seeming message of it was horrible. Were they trying to say that everyone is born into their station in life and you just have to accept it or you'll fuck up the balance? And the ending was just stupid. What shit.

Average bloodsugar levels.

Are you eating differently? Or does it have to do with the type of insulin?

IDK, probably an antianxiety. I think those are supposed to disrupt you from being in your head too much. Kinda like having a nice alcohol buzz without the negative side effects. :) ;P

Any damage?

A limb from one of the avocado trees got blown down, mainly because it was heavy with avocados. I think there were 14 on it. I cut up all the branches and put them in the garbage. At least it all fit.

Other than that, QoH has been driving me insane the last 2 days with her incessant ranting about her usual topics. Like STFU already! After having to endure the same BS every damn day it wears really thin. The sound of her voice gives me a headache. :/

No.

What about at night?

My dreams are usually more interesting. Except for last night. It has been very rainy and we had bad thunderstorms with LOUD thunder. I was also expecting a call from the cell phone rep at 11:30am(she ended up not calling), so getting back to sleep was impossible. Now I feel like crap. :(

I don't remember.

Captain America Winter Soldier was on the other night but I didn't watch it. I *did* watch much wimminz soccer last night, though. I was watching LSU vs Georgia which at one point Georgia was up 3-1, but then LSU came back and won 4-3. Lots of really siiiiick goals on that one. Half way through I was searching around to see what else was on and I discovered that the USWNT was playing a friendly vs Haiti live from Detroit so I switched to that. USA won that one 5-0. Carli Lloyd got another hat trick and they finally added Crystal Dunn to the team. I had seen her play in the NWSL for the Washington Spirit and she's just wicked good. I had wondered why she didn't play for the National Team. Now she does. :) She got the 5th goal in the closing seconds of stoppage time incidentally(her 1st International goal IIRC). She's very high energy and a good goal scorer.

I get 3 channels dedicated to college sports: PAC-12, SEC, and Longhorn(University of Texas). There's usually some wimminz college soccer on those channels during the week. The wimminz college soccer programs at most of the big schools are usually pretty good and the games are usually very entertaining. :)

BTW, I used to work with/friends with a couple girls who played soccer at Mount Olive. Must be nice to have supportive parents.

She's a wing-back?

I suppose. I'm not too familiar with what the positions are called. I know she's a scoring machine. IIRC she had 15 goals during the NWSL season while the combined total goals for the rest of her team was 15. :O

Yeah, Jill Ellis is all about them being aggressive. She also likes to mix things up and shift players around to different positions. She likes them to be versatile.

Have you ever told me what you would have done if you had had supportive parents? Would you have gone into sports? Or something else?

Yeah, well, defenders don't get to the chance to score that often.

Jill Ellis is all about them being aggressive.

Have they ever played against a team that turtled up?

Would you have gone into sports? Or something else?

I loved sports when I was a kid, but unfortunately the stupid private school that I went to didn't have much to offer for girls' sports--just softball, volleyball, or basketball. I think there might have been track and field, too, but that involved cross-country running so that would be right out. ;P And cheer leading. I wouldn't have been caught dead doing that, I was too much of a tomboy.

I would have played softball if I was allowed(I was not. The perennial excuse was that they "couldn't afford it" or that I would "get hurt"). And they certainly wouldn't have paid for me to play in any optimist type sports leagues.

By the time I was in HS, some of the kids bitched that they wanted a soccer team, but since there wasn't enough kids interested for a boys team and a girls team it ended up being co-ed. IIRC they lost every game. If soccer was popular back then like it was now, I might have been interested. I like the game now thanks to the USWNT's efforts over the last 15+ years.

Ya know, I don't remember if I was in my junior year or senior year of HS, but I did go to a softball practice after school one time. I think QoH only allowed it because she was working and would have been a couple hours late picking me up from school anyway. I felt like I didn't belong since I had no previous experience playing on a team and like the coaches were grudgingly tolerating me. Not that I didn't have skills batting/throwing etc. I was *really* good with that aspect, I was just thoroughly unfamiliar with terminologies and what went on at practice. I felt totally out of place and when one of the coaches asked if I was coming to the next practice I told him my parents wouldn't be able to take me or pick me up(since at the time our school didn't have an athletic field so the practices were at a municipal field a few miles from the school). That was true, but it was mainly because I felt out of place. The other kid's parents were supportive and involved, while mine couldn't be arsed. :/

Also, if I had supportive parents, I would have likely done something in Art as I was naturally talented. But neither of my parents went to college so I had no one to guide me with that and the fact that QoH was against me pursuing art since in her words "artists starve". She wanted me to magically be a doctor or a lawyer(which would have required some guidance when I was in HS as to which classes I should have been taking and planning ahead for college--how it would be funded--grants, scholarships, loans, etc. of which I had zero experience in any of that and no one to guide me with it). So when I graduated HS the 'rents are looking at me like I'm supposed to magically have all the answers.

How was someone who was never allowed to do anything, make my own decisions, or go out with friends and learn how to be independent, or be allowed to get my driver's license, or any of the normal rites of passage that happen when you're growing up, supposed to know anything about applying for college and all the other logistics to make it happen? I was thoroughly unprepared for any of it. And the fact that I had no clue as to what I wanted to be(since anything pertaining to art was right out). Okay, that rant strayed a bit from the topic. ;P

Have they ever played against a team that turtled up?

Yeah, I've seen it a couple times a few years ago, but now that a lot of the players from other countries are attending college/university in this country(or Canada)to be able to go through good collegiate soccer programs, the competition is getting better.

That has just the right amount of running in it then for you? ;P

So when I graduated HS the 'rents are looking at me like I'm supposed to magically have all the answers.

I guess a lot of people from my and your generation have had that experience. My parents basically only went to grade school as kids (although my father got extra education later in life) so they don't really know what it's like to go to higher educational institutions. On top of that my parents don't really have any friends so they can't inform them (or me) either. There was so much advice my parents were just unable to give me.

Oh, I went to the doc this morning. She's assigned a shrink-type person to me who will first call old man shrinker and then call me. So, step 1 accomplished. :)

Correct. ;D

Yeah, your 'rents and mine are about the same age IIRC(well, paternal unit is almost 80, so yours are closer to QoH's age). They had me kinda late in life so they were much older than my peers' 'rents, most of whom had experience going to college. So I felt like the odd man out in school.

they don't really know what it's like to go to higher educational institutions.

Yeah, paternal unit just couldn't see the value of higher learning since "HS was good enough for him". Stuck in the past, that one. QoH was a different story.

There was so much advice my parents were just unable to give me.

Yep. They had no clue.

step 1 accomplished. :)

Eeeexcellent. /steeples fingers and does best Montgomery Burns voice. I hope you can get something positive out of this one. :)

BTW, I had gotten curious about my friends who played for Mount Olive and holy shit! It turns out that April was one of their top all-time players! Top goal scorer one year and like #3 in points and #1 in assists all-time. She was also the school's first four-time college division women's soccer all-state pick and NCAA Div2 All Star. I had no idea. She was such a sweetheart and so humble.

She was someone I knew from work. She was friends with/teammate of the niece of the chef's wife. When they were on break from school they'd come down and occasionally get put to work. I liked them a lot and would have liked to have been friends outside of work, but QoH. As it was I enjoyed working with them. They were a lot of fun. It was nice to work with younger people who were good workers and not lazy and also fun to be around.

I don't think I've heard her name before.

I might have mentioned her before, but not by name. When the whole CB thing happened, afterward I mentioned to April that I had the misfortune of knowing a sociopath. Her eyes got really wide and then she told me they didn't call them that anymore, it was called Antisocial Personality Disorder. (She was studying psychology in school.) It was kinda funny knowing her and her mannerisms. She could be sweet and impish at the same time and like a big kid. LOL

Neither did I. I've ordered a not-too-expensive orthopedic pillow. Maybe this will finally help me get rid of my sore neck. If not then I'll cal my doctor again.

Congratulations! You now have two more dick than I have. :P

I've got nice goose feather ones. ;D

I didn't sleep well because I had checked the billing on the cell phone and the new bill was for mucho dinero and I knew that QoH would flip out when the actual bill came in the mail. Well, the bill didn't come, so I had to call customer service to find out what was going on. Somehow it got switched to paperless billing and the credits hadn't been posted yet. The nice lady straightened everything out and the actual bill was a few cents less than normal. So everything worked out okay with a minimum of fuss from QoH. O_o

You now have two more dick than I have. :P

Yes, that's the running joke among multiple dick winners(can one run with 3 dicks? ;P). Stoaty said I'm now in the hall of fame. I'm still not the top. That honor goes to Steve who has 5 or 6 wins. I *do* have the 3 incarnations of dick, though. The latest one is drawn on elephant poo particle paper. Artsy folks are odd.

What made you guess it was Yogi Berra?

The reapers sometimes leave their post-its laying around? ;P

Nah, I was picking Christopher Lee but then someone poached him away from me since I was late to the new dead pool. He died and the poacher won. I had picked Yogi since he was 90 and no one had thought to pick him. I did a little bit of investigation and found out that he was in assisted living and not doing so well. I knew it was only a matter of time. BTW, I requested that she put "It ain't over 'til it's over" on the drawing. I thought that would be rather fitting. ;) Also, that baseball that I was given that had all the mid-'50's Yankees autographs I think has Yogi's(although it's really faded).

This Monday, so pretty soon.

Cool. That *was* pretty quick. I wish you luck! :)

I have no idea WTF happened. The rep I spoke to said that somehow the billing got switched to paperless, so that's why we didn't receive one in the mail. She switched it back and I guess I'll see what happened. She said something about the credits hadn't been applied. When I did the original deal, that rep was supposed to manually enter all that into the system. I guess she neglected to do that.

Anyway, the plan we have is supposed to be for unlimited talk, text, and internet, so IDK why there would be any additional charges for usage. I'm fairly certain it was for the phone upgrade which was supposed to be comped.

The pillow has arrived today.

I hope for your sake that it helps. I know that it really sucks having a sore neck and trying to sleep. Have you tried lying on the floor with a tightly rolled up towel under your neck? Sometimes that helps to straighten everything out.

I noticed Doctor Who has started again.

I was contemplating picking Tom Baker for my next Dead Pool pick, but he's only 81 IIRC. I like to pick someone who's at least 90. I might go with Leslie Phillips again. BTW, OUAT new season starts this Sunday. I hope it doesn't suck. They're supposed to be going to Camelot. (and then I hear Graham Chapman's voice in my head saying, "On second thought, let's not go to Camelot. It tis a silly place." LOL)

For the past 30 years or so I never slept with a pillow (without any problems BTW). Then some months ago I started getting neck pains and I eventually went to my doctor who advised me to sleep with a pillow. I started doing that on and off about a week ago but it didn't seem to make much of a difference. A couple of days ago I decided to try an orthopedic pillow and this thing seems to work better.

That would actually be funny.

Heh. I guess you'll tell me what the episode was like tommorow? :)

It wasn't too bad. Regina had a lot of funny sassy lines, Zelena did a Hannibal Lecter thing, Merida from Brave made an appearance, and Emma has become exponentially more interesting. And this time Camelot is *not* a model. It is CGI. ;P

How is your weekend BTW?

Mostly uneventful. I watched a UFC event from Japan last night. It was not very entertaining. And I did some dead jasmine removal with the electric chain saw today before I settled in to watch OUAT. What about you?

Murraya paniculata aka orange jasmine. Most of the old plants died after that jerkoff next door sprayed weed killer all over.

blood moon

I don't think anyone ever called it that *ever* until that rabbi came up with that angle to sell a lot of books. What a load of nonsense. The only thing that happened(like what happens every time the moon is particularly close)is that the tide comes up over the roads that are near the beach. That POS cock waffle Algore was down here trying to play up all his globular warmening horseshit by walking around down there in rubber boots. What a fucktard. She did it to save Regina. The darkness from the dagger went after Regina after Rumple was separated from it. Emma went into hero mode and the Darkness took her(to Camelot, apparently). Now it's probably going to be a half season of flashbacks as at the end of 5.1 they did the whole "6 weeks later..." where everyone was magically back to Storybrook with their memories wiped(again, sigh). I hope this season isn't too stupid. I like the idea of Dark Emma. It gives JMo something to do with her acting skillz. And she looks like a cross between Lady Gaga and Tilda Swinton as the White Witch. ;P

Did you get to S3? Or only completed S2? There is always Netflix I guess. ;P

Yeah, and to look like I'm being responsible. She likes to accuse me of not trying to find work, but every time I do, she puts it down. So who is the *real* problem here? I think she does shit like that so she can always portray herself as the victim.

There seems to be even more improvement after last night.

Cool. :)

Are you just going to work in the garden this week?

Yeah, it looks like I'm gonna be QoH's field slave this week(when I'm not being the house slave). If it was up to me I'd get rid of at least half the plants and crap in this yard. I don't see the point in making so much work. QoH in her warped mind, thinks that somehow you are superior to others by always slaving away doing something so irrelevant as yard work. Because enjoying yourself doing something fun as opposed to drudge work is very very bad in her twisted mind. Can't be having any of that "fun" stuff. Oh, and she also called to schedule a bulk pickup for October 7, so I'm allegedly supposed to be singlehandedly trimming all the trees in the yard, too. >:(

She does keep you busy, doesn she? ;P

Yeah, I'm sore all over from finishing up the hedge along the back of the yard yesterday. Going grocery shopping today--even as horrible as it is going with QoH--was a welcome respite from yard work. :/

Not gonna happen. It is thankfully staying out in the ocean, far enough away from here. :) QoH on the other had doesn't believe that there is actually a hurricane there. She believes the govt is faking it. O_o

Well, this is just the go-between person who works for my doctor. I don't know yet who I'll be dealing with WRT that website.

I suggested the use of medication to her. Now, okay, she's only seen me once and it's kinda impossible to prescribe someone medication based on a single conversation, I suppose. But she does seem aware of my medical history so I don't think I was being unreasonable.

It seems very reasonable. Kinda a standard thing, really.

Did you buy anything fun? :)

After not having junk food/snacks in the house for a couple weeks, I could no longer bear it and I bought a couple big bags of chips, one bag of pretzels, and a bag of tortilla chips. I had a jar of salsa with black beans and sweet corn(which shockingly was 5 years past the 'best by' date and still good) which I'm enjoying with those tortillas. :) I also bought a package of soft flour tortillas so I could make some breakfast burritos and maybe some regular bean burritos.

I was going to buy a package of sour gummy worms but I figured I really didn't need the sugar and empty carbs. Since I've managed to get back down to my ideal weight, I don't feel like putting it right back on. ;P

Is it?

Yeah, I think it's really common for docs to prescribe something over here. Actually, I think it's kinda the go-to thing. I think that's a combination of factors: laziness(it's easier to give out pills), the drug companies encourage docs to prescribe their drugs(I used to do dinners hosted by drug companies where they kinda bribe the doctors to come by giving away a free dinner + show tickets in exchange for a sales pitch), and thirdly, the drug companies run commercials on TV telling peeps to ask their doctor about the new drug. I think some peeps think that if they go see the doc and they don't get a prescription for something then they were ripped off. Lots of peeps like to be on drugs of some kind.

How did you figure out it was still good?

Well, it was in a clear glass jar and the color still looked okay. When I went to take the lid off, it popped, so the seal was still good. I tasted it and it tasted fine(actually, it was really good). I had a couple helpings since I opened it and I haven't gotten sick or anything. I think things preserved in glass jars can keep good for quite a while.

Anyhoo, had a bit of bad news today. I was going to start cutting trees per QoH's request, and when I went out to move the truck to get the ladder out of the garage there was some sort of issue with the truck's alarm system and the truck wouldn't start. At first I thought it was the alarm malfunctioning, but after I played around with trying to start the truck, I noticed the battery warning light on the dashboard was lit.

I popped the hood and took a look at the battery and it was corroded around the terminal. That usually means the battery is bad. I called AAA and a guy came out to jump start it. He took a lot of time checking things and at first he said the battery was bad(which IIRC we just purchased new batteries a few months ago). Then he cleaned the terminals and noticed the one connector was bad. So I'm not sure if a bad connector would drain the battery like that or if it's the alarm draining the battery. The tech said someone would have to check the whole thing out to determine that.

Well, dealing with QoH is a nightmare. There was much shouting and threats after the AAA guy left. He had given us a phone # to someone he knew who wanted to charge $50 to replace the connectors. I called up Autozone and the guy told me the parts were like $5 each. Now QoH wants to take the truck to the mechanic tomorrow and have him disconnect the alarm system and do an oil change(which it's due for anyway) and get him to change the connectors. Sigh. That is likely going to cost a lot of money. :/

I'm seriously considering medication as my preferred solution to my little head problem. I can't self-medicate, I think.

That is likely going to cost a lot of money.

So what's your plan now then? Recharge the battery?

Yeah, booze and diabetes doesn't mix. :/

So what's your plan now then?

Well, QoH called the mechanic's shop today to see if they could do the work today, but the shop was short-staffed, so we are scheduled to go there tomorrow. The mechanic will have to do a diagnostic to determine the problem. QoH wants the battery connectors changed, plus the truck is due for an oil change. She also wants them to disconnect the alarm since it seems to be malfunctioning and it might be the culprit that's draining the battery.

Recharge the battery?

The AAA guy charged it and we let the truck run for 20 minutes to be sure. I pulled it to the side yard so it wouldn't be blocking my car in and then disconnected the battery to be sure nothing could drain it. I hope the damned thing starts up tomorrow. :/

I tried to grow a beard last week. Had to shave it off. I coudn't stand the feeling of those hairs on my chin. It takes ages as well to grow a beard. The first few millimeters pop out pretty quickly but then they slowwwww downnnnn.

It did start up when I connected the battery back. :) And everything that QoH wanted done was about $150 so that wasn't too bad. Changing the terminal connectors cost about $17 more than if I did it myself, but since I've never done it before it's better that Frank did it. That way QoH won't be getting on my case. ;P

I'll probably not feel 100% for a couple of days.

How bad is it for you? I've never had a flu shot myself, but I've known some peeps who get very sick from it. Anyway, good luck with that.

I tried to grow a beard last week.

:O And no pics? ;P

I coudn't stand the feeling of those hairs on my chin.

That's why you should just do mutton chops. ;P ;D

Anyway, seen any good movies lately?

Hmm, not anything new. I watched Only Lovers Left Alive again the other night. It's a vampire movie with Tilda Swinton and the guy who played Loki. Wasn't too bad. I've been watching a new series on TV called Blindspot. Only 3 episodes in, but it's not terrible. And a new episode of Ink Master is on tonight. It's about tattooing. I like it for the artwork. Some of those peeps are very talented and others not so much. ;)

Frank's the mechanic? You're on a first name basis with him?

How bad is it for you?

Previous times I felt rather ill but so far I'm doing okay with this shot.

And no pics?

Hm, didn't think about that.

That's why you should just do mutton chops.

Hugh Jackman may be able to get away with those, I doubt I would.

Only Lovers Left Alive

Hm, never seen it. Good actors.

Blindspot

About the memory-less tattood woman?

Some of those peeps are very talented and others not so much.

Oh dear. It's the "others" I'd worry about. :o

I had a weird dream last night. At first I was attacked (I think) by to black doggies. Then I walked around with a brown and black german sheperd dog. Then I climbed through the metal remnants of a window or something. I ended up on top of a narrow brick wall. At the end was a spider nest and I got covered in webbing and spiders. Then I woke up. :)

Yes and yes. He owns the shop and is a mechanic. He worked on removing the alarm and doing the thing with the battery himself. We've been going to him for a few years now. He has a rather large warehouse space and runs one of the cleanest shops I've ever seen, plus the waiting area is pretty nice.

I doubt I would.

Well, you won't know unless you try. ;P

Hm, never seen it. Good actors.

It's pretty good. Worth a watch.

About the memory-less tattood woman?

Yep.

It's the "others" I'd worry about. :o

Exactly. I wonder how they get peeps to come in and get tattood like that? Maybe offer it for free? And then you risk having an ugly tat forever unless you want to shell out much moolah for laser removal. And some of them have been really horrible. They even have a companion show afterward now where the peeps who got some of the worst tattoos get a chance to come back and get it fixed or something else. The catch is that it's from the same "artist" who gave them the crappy tattoo. :O

I had a weird dream last night.

That is weird. At least you are having some and remembering them. :)

QoH woke me up at 7:30am today to do something, and then I tried to go back to bed. Just as I was falling asleep again after I had laid awake for over an hour, she comes back in again and wakes me up. Aaaargh!!!! After that I just decided to stay up. Then a couple hours after that her damn little TV in the kitchen gave up the ghost and I was forced to give her the little TV/VCR combo that I keep in my room to tape OUAT. >:(

So she wanted to go out and buy a new one. The only problem is that the space that the old one resided in will only hold a 19" flat screen. We went to the 1st store and they only had 1 model and the idiot employees were rude and snickering about the fact that we wanted a 19". I will be making a complaint about that. Then we went to Walmart and they didn't have any on display even though their website shows that they sell that size. 4 hours later we're back home without a new TV. If it was up to me I would have went to Brandsmart first. QoH didn't want to go there hence the wild goose chase today. I think she is probably going to concede and we'll go there tomorrow. They usually have a shit-ton of options for cheap.

The one good thing that I discovered is that Gulfstream Park (where they do horse racing) now has an freakin' huge-ass enormous statue of a Pegasus Fighting a Dragon at the front entryway. It was really cool looking. Hmmm, I just googled it--it's 110 ft tall and is made of bronze and cost $30 million. :O (If you want a look, just google 'gulfstream park pegasus statue' and you'll get many images. I tried to get a pic when we were driving by but it didn't come out too good. :/ )

No, he's married and has grown kids just a few years younger than me.

Get your mind out of the gutter. We asked for 19" TV's. Laughing at a customer asking a legitimate question is fucking rude.

Have you ever placed a bet there?

No, I've never been to any gambling establishment other than being dragged to the old Biscayne Kennel Club (before they tore it down) by my sis when I was maybe 10 or 12 years old because one of her friends worked there. She ended up pissing away all her money and then conned me out of the $5 I had on me and pissed that away, too. I don't think she ever payed me back. I'd never blow money on gambling. I work to hard to get the little I have to see it pissed away in seconds. :/

BTW, the new season of American Horror Story started last night. It has Lady Gaga in it. It's really sick and fucked up. I don't know if I'm going to continue watching it. :/

Nah, that's not going to happen.

So did you go to Brandsmart?

Not yet. QoH is stalling. She called the one that's 20 miles away and they have a bunch. One is an LG and the price seems good. The BMart that is close to our house didn't have many, just weird off brands. Now QoH is likely planning to go there on Sunday so that I end up missing OUAT.

We have been fighting more than usual, so...

I want to know why. :)

It's set in an old art deco/art neuveau (sp?) hotel. Right off the bat, 2 Swedish girls come to check in. They see that the place is kinda a dump and want a refund. Kathy Bates plays the receptionist (who is a big bitch) and refuses. She shows them to their room. There is a funny smell in there and they discover it's coming from the mattress. They strip off the sheets and see that the mattress has been stitched up the middle. They break it open and there is a body in there. Then they get shown to another room (a "special" room that is never rented out--room 64). Later one of the girls is found on the floor with one of the creepy kids that was seen in the hall by one of the Swedish girls when she went to get ice and he is chewing on her neck.

Later on in a flashback it shows some druggies shooting up (room 64)and then IDK if it was supposed to be a ghost of demon or something comes while the guy is high on the bed and starts brutally ass raping him with a big metal cock like the one from that scene from Seven. The guy turns out to be Kathy Bates' son. The woman that he was with KB pushes her out the window to her death.

There is this detective (played by the guy who played Seneca Crane in Hunger Games) who is investigating all these weird crimes around town (it's set in LA) and one of the crimes has a man and a woman fucking and the woman has a spear through her torso and her hands nailed to the headboard. The guy IIRC had his hands nailed as well and his eyes removed (he is still alive) and we find out his cock is super glued inside the dead woman.

There were some other gruesome murders, and then the Lady Gaga character and her lover killed this couple that they picked up at an outdoor screening of Nosferatu. They were having swinger sex back at the hotel and then Gaga and her guy slashed the couples throats and then were like licking some of the blood. I'm not sure if they're supposed to be vampires or something or just killers.

It was shown later on that the 2 Swedish girls were still alive, Kathy Bates had them in 2 of those medieval style torture cages. One of the ghosts (the one who KB pushed out the window)came and released one of them and then when she tried to escape by running through the hotel and into the lobby, Lady Gaga was there and slashed her throat and killed her.

There was also some weird room where they were keeping these kids that IIRC were kidnap victims.

It was all pretty twisted stuff. I know that this series is pretty messed up, but I think I'm just not into that kind of thing any more. :/

On a sidenote, you prefer the word "cock" over "penis"?

Classic American horror, combining naught sex with gruesome death.

It was all pretty twisted stuff.

Well, the real question is, can Lady Gaga act or does she need some lessons?

Depends on the mood I'm in. There are so many wonderful words for the part in question. ;P Wang, weenis, willy, tally whacker... ;P ;D

the real question is, can Lady Gaga act or does she need some lessons?

IDK if you looked at the tv.com recap or not, but one of the commenters said what I was thinking: that you think "Lady Gaga" not the "Countess" character. IMO she seemed okay. She didn't have much screen time to really judge it.

I'm sure I'll probably watch the next episode. That series has a way of sucking you in.

In other news, a minor miracle occurred today. QoH wanted to get up early to go to Bmart to get the TV. We actually left at 10am and got up there around 10:45am. Unfortunately, the TV that we went for mysteriously disappeared(all 10 of them that were allegedly in stock). The guy who QoH spoke to yesterday was actually working there today so he tried to figure out what happened.

Anyway, he went to the warehouse to try to look for them and was gone for like 35 minutes. When he came back he said he couldn't find them and didn't know what happened to them. Long story short, I told QoH that we should just go to HH Gregg and just as we were getting ready to go I noticed a 19" RCA sitting on the floor in a box by the area where the employees check for product on the computer.

I asked him, "What about this one?" because he had mentioned that he could try to do a deal for us on a lesser expensive TV since we had driven all that way and were waiting around a long time. So it turned out the RCA was like $130 (the LG we went for was $89). The RCA was also high def and a better picture quality, so he sold it to us for $98. I don't mind paying $9 more for a better TV.

Anyway, I already hoked it up and QoH is enjoying it right now. (and I get my TV/VCR back for recording OUAT. :)

Sounds like a good deal TV. If the thing doesn't break down after a week or so.

Tomorrow is my appointment with psych-assistent-person at the doctor's office. I guess she'll inform me about he "E-health" plans. I did a little digging and apparently it's to do with getting therapy via your phone. Seems rather silly to me.

I have this book called The Von Hoffman Brother's Book of Sheer Manliness that has a whole page dedicated to different words for one's Johnson. ;)

It's hard to live without some decent (or indecent) TV. :)

Yep.

I hope so. I can return it for a refund within 30 days if something happens. And I think it has a 1 year manufacturers warranty as well.

Sounds like some nonsense to make it look like they're doing something for you without really doing anything. Well, good luck with that. They should really give you some anti-anxiety meds. I think those would work for you.

No meds were given for now. The E-health phone-therapy is off the table as well, it seems. The codeword for today is "group-therapy".

How are you doing BTW? You got some therapy in the past, IIRC? Do you still benefit from that?

IIRC I was probably in my late teens/early 20's when I got it. I think from the Marshall's/Homegoods store in Aventura. They used to have a small book section. I know I was with QoH at the time. I don't remember if I found it or she did. I do remember laughing hysterically at the "names for your penis" and "names for boobage" pages. QoH was laughing harder than me IIRC. I think she insisted on buying the book.

Maybe I should get a copy and read it.

You should. It's very entertaining. A quick googling will get you many results and some for cheap. :)

The codeword for today is "group-therapy".

Barf-o-rama. You should insist on meds. Maybe talk to your GP about it.

How are you doing BTW?

Physically: mostly okay. Mentally: not so much.

You got some therapy in the past, IIRC?

Nope. Not me. You must be thinking of someone else. The only things I have access to are online forums that I read.

Maybe you need to get firm with her (get your head out of the gutter ;P) and insist. Over here all you have to do is ask and most docs will give you whatever Rx you want.

Liquor works pretty good, but since you can't have any, maybe a good herbal like St John's Wort might help.

Meh, just the usual nonsense with QoH. My situation sucks big time and is very depressing. :/

Sooooooo, Arekino-san... are you pursuing any manly endeavors ATM? Maybe instead of growing some nice sexy mutton chops, you could just do some longish sideburns? And take a pic, of course. That could be a first step. ;P

I took a quick perusal of the Von Hoffmann Bros book last night. Seems I'm halfway to sheer manliness myself since I have many of the requirements just laying around the house. Weber grill, dogs shooting pool pic, Tabasco sauce, Worcestershire sauce, Wild Turkey whiskey, boom sticks, I like sports... ;P

Maybe you could buy yourself a nice black leather jacket and start wearing some Ray Bans? ;P I'm sure I can come up with some more suggestions if you need them. I'm willing to help butch up my code monkey in any way I can. ;D

Well, my handy dandy Natural Medicine handbook says, and I quote: "...St John's wort has anti-anxiety, anti-inflammatory, and sedative properties, and has been useful for treating a range of ailments, from depression and bed wetting, to colds and arthritis." So you should be good to go with that. :)

Are you pursuing any womanly endeavors? :)

Why yes! I'm making a loaf of rye bread ATM. Got all the ingredients mixed together and I'm waiting for it to ferment for a couple hours before I give it a good kneading and then I have to let it sit for an hour or so to rise. Then I'll bake it up and nom, nom, nom! ;P ;D

Or Valerian. That's supposed to be really good, too. And if you should find some Valerian steel weaponry, that's good for killing White Walkers. ;D

but is that really a womanly thing?

In the rather sexist environment that I grew up in, it would be considered womanly. Paternal unit thought cooking and cleaning and all that was strictly the domain of women, but at the same time would say that men are better than women at everything including cooking, and that male chefs were better than women chefs. Idiot. The best chef I ever worked with was a French lady. ;)

I've baked bread in the past, you know. ;P

I guess you are just in touch with with your feminine side. ;P

Yes, the smell of bread baking is one of the best. Also freshly baked cinnamon rolls. :)

Nope. You?

Of course. I have at least two nights of sleep planned. Plus playing some video-games, watching Doctor Who, eating, drinking, visiting the toilet several times and watching porn.

But seriously, no, I'm mostly free this weekend.

I do need to get myself a new winter coat though. Given that a lot of shops have closed in this town the past year, I may have to go look in a nearby city. Or on the internet.

Psych-Doc hasn't called yet so who knows what's going on with that.

Oh, and I looked into St. Johns wort and now I'm not sure how compatible it is with my diabetes. I may have to consult a doctor.

How's the weather over there? It's getting quite Autumn-y over here. Trees are losing their leaves. It's not yet freezing but it's threatening to.

I do need to get myself a new winter coat though.

Do they really wear out that quickly from season to season? You should get a fur coat and look like a pimp. ;P

:O An adventure! It might be good for you to get out and go some place different. :)

I may have to consult a doctor.

Then try the valerian.

How's the weather over there?

Still hot with scattered rain showers. It was mostly cloudy today but the rain bypassed us, which was good because we had to go grocery shopping and it's a pain in the ass to do it when it's rainy. The trees don't change color or lose their leaves here. The trees usually shed in spring which is ass backwards. According to the news report today, because of the el nino, it's supposed to be cooler than average this "winter". I'll have to see it to believe it.

My mother takes something that has valerian in it, I think. I don't know, this stuff is more used to induce sleep.

it's a pain in the ass to do it when it's rainy.

Doesn't the rain cool things down a bit? I'm not sure I'd like to live in Florida. I kinda need there to be real seasons. :)

It *is* commonly used for sleeping, but it is also used for anti-anxiety since it's a central nervous system depressant.

No, it just makes everything more humid.

I'm not sure I'd like to live in Florida.

I'm not so keen on it myself. I think north Florida gets more seasonal weather. It has been known to snow occasionally up in Jacksonville. Have you been thinking about living in Florida? ;P

my dad grew a whole bunch of peppers

Like bell peppers? or the spicy kind of peppers? I hear that peppers are kinda easy to grow. The "soil" here is too poor and sandy to try to grow vegetables. We *did* have a shit ton of avocados, though. Some weighed almost 2 kilos. :O

More about not living there then living there. ;P

Those. They're not that spicy. They taste great in a cold "witlof" salad. Adds a little bit of zing.

Oddly he put it in with the chicken today and it was a bit too strong.

I'm sure it's possible to enrich it, mix it with other kinds of soil.

Maybe you should hold some kind of garage sale for all the fruit you've grown. You're bound to get some customers. :)

Maybe cooking them brings out the heat? Why is he cooking with them anyway? I thought you said your old peeps liked things bland? ;P

I'm sure it's possible to enrich it, mix it with other kinds of soil.

You'd have to make raised boxes or containers to keep the soil from leaching out into the ground. It's more trouble than it's worth. It'd be doable if QoH wasn't here. She'd never stop bitching about "You can't, you can't, you can't!" She's always harping on what 'you can't' do, never on what you can. :/

Maybe you should hold some kind of garage sale for all the fruit you've grown.

Impossible with QoH here, because 'you can't just...' with 100 reasons why.

Anyway, had a bit of excitement earlier. Our other nabe across the street called all panicked. Apparently there was some dude in out yard passed out face down. I went out with my truncheon and pepper spray and shouted at him but there was no response, so I came in and called 911. I wasn't going to attempt anything. You never know with people these days. If he was on drugs I could end up being attacked. It's best just to call 911 and let them send out the pros to deal with it. They had a Fire Rescue ambulance out within a couple minutes after I called 911(the fire house is maybe 1/2 mile up the main road). Initially the guy didn't respond when they shook him, but then he finally came around. He was wobbly like he was drunk or high or something. The ambulance crew made him get in the vehicle and they took him away all in less than a couple minutes. At least I no longer have that to deal with. ;P

I did say that and I wasn't lying. I may, however have been mistaken. My mother still won't touch the normal pepper though. My dad likes to experiment with food apparently. I guess I get that from him. :)

to keep the soil from leaching out into the ground

What? What does that mean?

I went out with my truncheon and pepper spray

Hey, I would like a truncheon. Can't have pepper spray though, not allowed here.

We had a drunk guy in our street a couple of days ago. His bike had broken down, the chain had run off the sprocket and he was trying to fix it. But he was so drunk he could get it done. It was kind of funny to watch. He walked away after a while. He shouldn't have been cycling anyway.
It's strange seeing drunk people here. I've seen some people drink beer in one of the parks sometimes but that's it.

You're kinda brave helping the nabe like that. :)

Yep, cool as a cucumber. ;P

What? What does that mean?

Just that if you try to mix in black topsoil or mulch or something into the poor sandy soil that it just seems to get washed through and doesn't stay there. If I dig down about 2 or 3 feet in my yard it goes from grey sand to white-ish sand. I guess if I dug down far enough I'd eventually hit very brittle limestone. :/

I would like a truncheon.

They are easy to make. QoH's ex bf made mine on his lathe. You don't even need a lathe to make one. Just a sturdy piece of wood, cut the edges off, and sand it to a cylindrical shape. :)

Can't have pepper spray though, not allowed here.

That's no fun. :( I've seen a lot of women around here with pepper spray(the small key chain kind)hanging off their keys.

You're kinda brave helping the nabe like that. :)

I wasn't helping her, I was helping myself as the guy was in my yard. I'm really tired of peeps coming in my yard. I have no idea where this one was from. He was black as the ace of spades. Must have been African. And either drunk or high at 4:30 in the afternoon. >:( I just wanted him gone. I don't know why the nabe didn't call 911 herself, but I'm glad she called to let me know someone was there. She doesn't seem to have a problem if peeps are in my yard stealing fruit.

Anyway, I didn't get that close to the guy. I went out with my equipment and got maybe 8 yards from him and shouted at him and there was no response. I was really pissed off and called 911. I didn't care if they took him to jail, hospital, or morgue. I didn't want to have to deal with it. And with the way people are these days it's not safe to try to help. Let the authorities come out and do their job. They get paid enough and they have benefits if they were to get injured in the process. :/

I think that's fairly normal. If I did that here I'd see the same thing. The fertile top soil is usually only a few feet thick, if even that. If I dig deep enough I'd hit either clay or white sand. And eventually rock, I suppose.

I was helping myself as the guy was in my yard.

Oh, in *your* yard. I thought "out yard" looked a little strange. :)

Your still brave though. :)

Must have been African.

Or American. Could even be Dutch. ;)

Hey, have you ever drank so much you lost some use of your faculties?

Unfortunately we don't have any fertile topsoil. Just sand. :/

Yes, it was supposed to be "our" yard, not "out". Typo there.

Or American. Could even be Dutch. ;)

The black folks here and from the Caribbean aren't usually that dark. They have some European and Indian DNA (and some have Chinese, dot Indian, and E Asian) to make them lighter colored.

have you ever drank so much you lost some use of your faculties?

I've been a little tipsy before, but never blind, passing-out drunk in public. Only one time when I was a teen and using poor judgement did I drink a whole bottle of wine at home (QoH was not at home) and blacked out for a minute. And then there was the time that QoH's POS bf gave me that Cisco shit and I drank it before bed and then got up in the middle of the night to pee and had to crawl to the bathroom. I felt sick enough to puke but didn't. I felt like I was going to die. :/

I'm sure I had alcohol poisoning from that crap. Then the asshole had the nerve to tell me that he told a coworker that he gave me that crap and the coworker said to him, "WTF? Are you trying to kill her?" And he thought that was the funniest thing, and had the nerve to tell that to me! Fucker. >:(

What about you? Did you ever drink before you became diabetic?

Did you ever drink before you became diabetic?

No. I have had a bit of a taste from my parents' beer and wine to check if I still find those disgusting and that's always been the case. I do remember getting a small amount of rosé wine at dinner on special occasions. And "advocaat" with whipped cream of course at grandparent's birthdays. Oh, and apple cider at new year's.

There have been a couple of times in my life that I "lost my faculties" due to either being stupid or ignorant. But never because of any alcohol.

I guess I do overdo it with the videogames sometimes. Never to the point that I fall into a coma but I have pulled an all-nighter once or twice. That was a long time ago though. I don't think I could still do that, or want to that.

I must be getting old. :)

Do you ever notice anything physically or mentally about getting older?

What does that mean? Did you do some whacky weed or some other illicit drug? ;P Or was it because you forgot to take your insulin or something? :/

I have pulled an all-nighter once or twice.

I always take my sleeping very seriously, but I have stayed up waaaaaay late a couple times when I got very involved in a couple very enthralling fanfics and just couldn't stop reading. Of course, there were a couple times when CB kept me up all damn night IM'ing. That kinda pissed me off after I thought about it later. She was just doing it deliberately to see if she could get me to do that because it was something she wanted to do. I don't like being toyed with and I will never put myself in that kind of situation again. I chock it all up to a learning experience.

And then there were a couple times when QoH was managing at the CC when I was late teens (she should never be in charge of anything because she is a batshit insane control freak narcissist) and we stayed there all effing day and all night and then worked the next day (I'm fairly certain that is illegal, but since when do laws and rules apply to her?). I can tell you that I feel like absolute shit without sleep and am cranky to the Nth degree. >:(

Do you ever notice anything physically or mentally about getting older?

Yeah, I'm getting white hair like crazy and the skin on my forearms is getting that sun-damaged freckly slightly wrinkly texture which totally sucks. :/

I wish I had really thick textured hair as opposed to the fine stuff that I have, because then going salt-and-pepper looks kinda good if it's cut shorter, but then it'd be a lesbian magnet. ;P (As told to me by ex-boss' gf. I kinda gave her the side-eye at the time. I think she and R were fighting at the time and was looking at me like I might be available/want to be. Uh, no thanks. :) )

As far as mental faculties, I think I've mostly recovered from what I suspect to have been a TIA about 10-12 years ago. My mental sharpness is almost 100% back to what it used to be when I was in HS. :) Oh! And I'm definitely more muscular as I work out more than ever now. ;P

What does that mean?

Well, one time, as a young child maybe 8 years old, I was challenged by some older kids to stand on the fender of a delivery van and hold on to the back of it while it drove off. At the end of the street I got scared and jumped off. I ended up with a concussion. I don't really remember jumping off actually.

Some other time, I was 1 or 12, I participated in a sports day organized by my soccer club. At the end of the day there was a race. I did pretty well and almost finished first or second (I can't remember exactly) but right before the finish line I blacked out. I woke up while my father dragged me over the finish line. I did win the sports day trophy though. Well, maybe they pitied me or felt responsible for what happened, I'll never know for sure.

the skin on my forearms is getting that sun-damaged freckly slightly wrinkly texture

You mean like some kind of parchment skin?

My mental sharpness is almost 100% back to what it used to be when I was in HS.

How do you know it's not back to 100%? I think we've been talking to each other for about 5 years now? You have always seemed quite sharp mentally.

I ended up with a concussion.

D: Did your parents find out? or did you go to the hospital?

When I was in elementary school and we had PE class, one time I remember the teachers had this enormous inflated ball that was almost 2 meters tall. We were supposed to form 2 teams and then push the ball kinda like a 'push of war' instead of a tug of war. Well, IDK who came up with this brilliant idea, but it was nothing but a recipe for disaster as inevitably someone lost their balance and fell down causing a chain reaction and then we all got run over by the ball. The effing thing was heavy and it was quite painful getting hit in the face by it. I remember that was the first time I experienced getting hit hard enough to literally see stars and thinking that 'wow, that's real and not just in cartoons'. From what I've read that is a sign of a minor concussion. :/

right before the finish line I blacked out. I woke up while my father dragged me over the finish line.

D: That's a hell of a way to finish a race, getting dragged over the line. At least you got the trophy. :) Sounds like maybe you had some low blood sugar or low blood pressure. That has happened to me a couple times when I hadn't eaten. I'd get up or move too fast and just black out. I haven't had that happen for many years.

You mean like some kind of parchment skin?

Yeah, like getting the beginning signs of it. :/

How do you know it's not back to 100%?

Because I used to have instant recall of things. Now it takes me a few beats or sometimes quite a while.

You have always seemed quite sharp mentally.

That can be easy to pull off on the internet. ;P But seriously, reading and writing on the toobs was really good therapy to get my mental functioning back to near normal. :)

One of the older kids was a cousin of mine, we lived in the same street. He told his mother and she told my mother. I think they carried me home and called a GP.

'wow, that's real and not just in cartoons'

Ouch.:/

Sounds like maybe you had some low blood sugar or low blood pressure.

There was some speculation about that me having drunk too much chocolate milk or something before running and that my stomach contracted. That could have influenced the blood flow to my head, I guess.

Because I used to have instant recall of things.

Yeah, I feel like I had a better memory when I was young. Then again, maybe I just had less to think about. Or maybe school trained my brain to remember things better than surfing the net. Google is my external memory now. :)

Psych-doc called me the other day. She's still making phone-calls. Does want to me know that there's probably a waiting list. Oh, and SS guy wrote me a letter informing me that I had an income in 2014 and that he wants to have a talk with me about that. (I did not have an income in 2014) #sigh#

me having drunk too much chocolate milk

Too much chocolate milk would make me hurl. That stuff is good going down and then you want more, then suddenly you surpass the goodness limit and it quickly goes bad. D:

Google is my external memory now. :)

Yeah, I used to be very good at instantly putting a name to a face or naming an actor and which movies they were in. I still have recognition, but sometimes remembering the name doesn't happen, or I'll remember the movie they were in, so Google helps me out, too. :)

Does want to me know that there's probably a waiting list.

Of course there is. ::rolls eyes::

(I did not have an income in 2014)

So typical of bureaucrats to get things all screwed up. Do they count benefits as an income like they do here in some cases?

I had to deal with the cell phone company again yesterday. Got the bill in the mail and it was still high. I called customer service and talked to a nice guy in Nashville and he said that the notes from the original rep were on the account and told me what the real bill was. He also gave me a short code to enter in my phone to see what the actual bill is. I guess there is some kinda problem with the billing where they send me one thing when in the computer system it is actually something different. Sigh. It's just a pain in the ass dealing with QoH over the matter. Dealing with the cell company is minor, but she makes such damn mountains out of molehills. :/

Sooooooo, had to go shopping today and it wasn't terrible. :) Publix was the 1st stop and they had everything I went in for and then when I was going to checkout a cashier was free (had no one at her register) and waved me over. And she actually took the time to individually wrap the 3 jars of pasta sauce that I was buying in newspaper so they wouldn't knock together and break in the bag. I thanked her for that. It's such a rare thing to deal with a conscientious employee that it kinda made my day.

Next was a stop at Western Beef. They actually had some nice ripe plantains on sale 3 for $1 so I got some of those. I haven't had fried ripe plantains for a looooong time. I hope they are yummy. :) And then we went to Walmart. Shockingly they had everything I went in for and there was even a guy giving free samples of chicken nuggets so I got one of those. :)

Then at Sam's the free food sample trend was in full force. I got some apple pie when I first went in and then some pizza and pasta with pesto. The grand finale was the lady giving free samples of Heineken :D . She actually gave me more than the sample amount. I got almost half of the open bottle that she had. :) It helps to smile and be friendly and chit-chat. ;P I think they should always give free beer when I'm shopping. ;D

Now I am waiting for the end of the wimminz soccer game and then I'll switch over to MMA and then go pop a beer in the fridge for later when Jorina Baars is fighting. I've been jonesing for some beer for a while and the free sample was like a tease. Hopefully the rest of my weekend will go as well as today. :)

What about you? Got anything planned?

Then again I don't drink a lot of chocolate milk anymore. Usually we drink milk with cacao in the evening. It's different from the commercial chocolate milk.

Not as far as I know. I've had a discussion about this kind of stuff before with SS guy and I thought any problems had been resolved. Maybe I thought wrong.

Glad to hear that. I've always hated shopping myself.

Are they better than ordinary bananas? We usually just pan fry those.

Yeah, I wish I could do that. I seem to have a rather Finnish attitude to smalltalk. ;)

It's different from the commercial chocolate milk.

There were 2 kinds of chocolate milk when I was a kid: the kind made by pouring Hershey's syrup into milk, and the commercially made "chocolate milk drink" that I doubt contained any milk at all and had a very strange syrupy texture. Both kinds would make me sick if I drank too much. And as an adult, I think Hershey's brand chocolate is vile.

I've had a discussion about this kind of stuff before with SS guy and I thought any problems had been resolved. Maybe I thought wrong.

Yeah, that's bureaucrats for ya. When you think something is resolved it's not. :/

I've always hated shopping myself.

I hate shopping with QoH. Recently she hasn't been going in the stores with me so it's not so bad. :)

Are they better than ordinary bananas?

They have a different flavor and texture. I guess you could say that they have a bit of tartness. And they smell different than regular bananas.

I seem to have a rather Finnish attitude to smalltalk. ;)

Don't the Finns have a reputation for being a rather dour people? IDK, I've only met 2 IRL, both pro hockey players. Janni Hurme (who was the goalie for the Panthers about 10-12 years ago) seemed like a nice friendly guy when I met him at the All Star Game block party, and Olli Jokinen (who played for the Panthers a while back and was the captain) gave me a fist bump when they were going into the tunnel after the pregame skate.

Ya know, I just remembered something...one time when I was at a game with my ex-friend from work, we were sitting by the glass down by the ice during the pregame skate and these 2 Finnish guys who were there to watch their countrymen play tried to get us to trade seats with them for a period so they could sit close to the ice. They were very excited at the prospect. There was a bit of a language barrier (their English wasn't too good) and we realized that they thought we had actual tickets for the ice side seats when in reality we were just sitting there for the pregame skate because they used to let peeps come down and sit in the lower bowl for the pregame. After the pregame you had to return to the seats that you had tickets for. Our seats were in the nosebleed upper bowl. Those poor guys looked heartbroken when we explained all that to them and they learned we didn't have tickets for those seats near the ice.

Did you drive to there?

No. QoH is too much of a control freak to let me drive. I haven't driven anywhere since February. :/

Should you be drinking then?

It wouldn't have mattered if I drank a whole case. ;P I didn't tell QoH about any of the free samples I had. She'd only find some reason to be negative. BTW, I had forgotten how good Heineken is, especially when it's ice cold. :)

It doesn't really take any planning anymore. ;P

Yes, very similar to mine unfortunately. :/

Are you sure you still know how to drive? ;P

I had forgotten how good Heineken is, especially when it's ice cold.

Ewwww, beer! Gross! :P

Apparently this town is changing and not for the better. A week ago a Belgian Mercedes dropped of a guy at the hospital who had been shot during a double murder in a nearby town that he was allegedly involved in. And Friday someone got mugged at gunpoint while he was using an ATM machine. This may not sound all that special to you, you may be used to worse in Miami, but this stuff normally never happens here. It's a really quiet town (well, city officially).

Yes, those 2 incidents would make for a slow day around here. We refer to the local news as the 'daily mayhem report'.

There was an incident in the Keys yesterday IIRC where the police were after some felon and the guy lost control and crashed his car near a house where some peeps were having a sweet 16 b-day party. They had security cameras on their house so the whole thing was caught on video. A shootout occurred. It looked to me that the idiot cops were the ones responsible for shooting up the b-day peeps house. There were bullet holes all over it and the peeps were out in the yard as the shooting happened. They all had to dive for cover. Luckily none of them got hurt, but the felon got away.

I think I told you about the incident where QoH and I came out of the TJ Maxx at Sunny Isles and there was a shootout in the parking lot. Same kind of thing where the cops get trigger happy and just start shooting wildly and don't care about all the innocent people walking around. :/

Oh, BTW my hormones are all out of control and I had a really good sexy times dream that was memorable last night. ;D It was super hot and I bet you're curious for details. ;P

Unless you mean the non-orgasmic type of happy times. Do video-games count then? ;P

Anyhoo, in other news I slapped QoH in the face today after she called me a piece of shit one too many times. I had been outside mowing the yard etc for 4 hours (her latest thing to call me is slothful) and was getting ready to come in when she wanted me to look at some plants that had brown spots on them. She believes that the neighbors come over in the middle of the night to spray weed killer on them. In her warped mind (confirmation bias) any plant that has brown spots now has been sprayed with weed killer. It couldn't possibly be that plants get brown spots and leaves die off as a part of their life cycle. Nooooooo. So because I didn't agree with her assessment (because it's highly improbable), she accused me of "siding with the neighbors against her" and then started screaming at me and calling me names as is her usual thing now.

As I was opening the back door to go in she called me a piece of shit. I turned around and asked her 'What did you call me?' and she got in my face and said it again so I slapped her in the face. I don't think she was expecting that and she really started to flip out then. I tried to get in and close the door and lock her outside but she got a hold of the handle and I couldn't turn the lock in it. I ran in the house and up to my room and locked my door. She came upstairs in a rage and tried to bust my door open but I was holding the handle and she couldn't do it. She was making all sorts of threats but went back down to the kitchen.

I snuck out and into the bathroom and locked its door and had a shower. When I got back out I snuck back to my room and locked it. I kinda felt bad for slapping her as it puts me on her level so after a while I went down and said I was sorry for doing it. I figured I should apologize because she is capable of real violence and just might try to stab me or shoot me in my sleep or something (she had stabbed a woman multiple times when she was younger and pulled a gun on my father before). Anyway, when I said "I'm sorry" she said "you got that part right". She can never be gracious. She can only be a nasty bitch and never admit to her actions being wrong.

I went back upstairs and got my cell phone and decided to get some video of her screaming and acting crazy. I was standing at the top of the steps trying to talk calmly while getting video of her screaming and ranting, but I only got a little bit of that. I'm going to try to get video of her from now on to prove what a nut she is. :/

I need to upload those pics from the first time she got physically violent with me and cut my arm and scratched up my stomach. I have pics from the second time she scratched me up uploaded but not the first time. At least I still have them all saved on my camera.

On the one hand, she shouldn't have called you a piece of shit, on the other hand, now your the one who resorted to physical violence. She will probably try to use that against you, if she ever feels the need to. Then again, I assume she has no evidence that it actually happened.

I have to wonder if you set something in motion here.

Meh, it wouldn't be the first time. The time she tried to strangle me she tries to turn it around and act like I'm the one who did something to her. I don't care. She deserved it. It's a consequence of an accumulation of verbal abuse she'd been throwing at me for several weeks. I reached my snapping point.

I assume she has no evidence that it actually happened.

Nope. And she did that to me several times when I was a kid, so basically she's reaped what she sowed. And I didn't even hit her full force, just with the tips of my fingers--a nice stinging slap.

I have to wonder if you set something in motion here.

Oddly enough she went to bed early last night and then today she didn't bring any of it up nor call me any names or be hostile. It won't last, I'm sure. :/

You better watch your back. Lock your bedroom door at night. :/

I had that thought last night, but didn't because locking my door is a provocative act to her.

Very much so. I had a couple more vivid dreams last night. The first one involved being way up high at the Petronas Towers. I don't remember any details of that one ATM. The second one involved me having sexy things done to my lady parts. :)

I don't know where either of those dreams came from as I watched the Presidential candidate debates last night and then American Horror Story afterward which was about several famous serial killers being invited to Devil's Night dinner. Neither involved Petronas Towers of sexy times. O_o

Oh, she's not forgotten about it. Probably mulling it over

No doubt. Although she hasn't been confrontational or nasty today, either.

I don't really celebrate Halloween

Which is a shame really. Now, don't get upset by what I'm about to suggest because I'm just messing around, but I think it would be hilarious if you dressed up as Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs. You could open the door to trick-or-treaters with your junk tucked, have some Goodbye Horses playing in the background, and do the "would you fuck me? I'd fuck me" line. ;P Or not. You'd probably get arrested. Would probably only work for a private show. ;P ;P ;P ::ducks and runs::

I, on the other hand, am going to do my version of Alex from A Clockwork Orange because I just so happen to have a black bowler hat, white pants and shirt, suspenders, and black boots all laying around here. I might even go so far as to do the false eyelashes on my right eye and have a glass of milk for the pics. ;P ;D

do you ever experience anything like Seasonal Affective Disorder?

No. We don't have any prolonged gloomy weather here. Even when it's rainy we still get enough sunshine to offset any of that.

Has it started to turn cold where you are? It was miserably hot here today-almost 89 degrees. There's 59% humidity so the "feels like" temp is 94 degrees. :/

Has it started to turn cold where you are?

Sorta. Sometimes it gets pretty cold and then it goes back to pleasantly warm again. Autumn doesn't really know what she wants.

Well, have a fun and scary (but not too scary) weekend. The youngest nephew will come over for a slumber visit. Maybe I can trick him into watching some horror flicks with me. :O BUAAHUAAUHAAAA!!! :P

The silence before the storm. :P

Yeah, she was slightly bitchy today. Probably building it back up slowly. ;P

Meh, that's not going to impress anyone.

You are so wrong! I would be willing to make any kind of deal with you to get you to dress up like Buffalo Bill from the junk tuck scene. ;D I would be delighted and impressed because, ironically, it would take some massive balls to do it. ;P

I think you also need a cane to beat people with. And maybe a cod piece. :)

I have an old black broom handle that could be cut down to size and my old cup/jock strap that us chicks were forced to get for kung fu is around here somewhere. ;)

Autumn doesn't really know what she wants.

Yeah, same situation here. :/

I shall try. :) I bought a small bag of Haribo gummy bears for myself(had a coupon, so they were only like 50 cents :D ) and I shall try to get a pic with my improvised Alex costume. :)

Have fun with the kiddo! I watched Silence of the Lambs last night, but it was on some channel with commercials and they edited out all the cursing and good parts. :/ Hey, did you see that they're making a new series with Bruce Campbell called Ash vs Evil Dead? Unfortunately it's on Starz channel and I don't get that any more. I did get a look at the preview, though. It looked pretty funny. :)
