Great idea for a horror story

I was thinking about why my family acts like an old school traditional Chinese family.  I don't believe in reincarnation so that explanation is right out.  Maybe we are possessed by Chinese demons?  Hey!  That's an idea!  And *plausible*.

I shall explain.

Remember the old series Friday the 13th where the peeps ran an old curio shop and sold cursed items?  Well, what if I just happen to have in my *possession* (Puns here!  Get your puns here!) a genuine cursed Chinese object?  Maybe a few, actually!

In my mother's *China* cabinet are a few very old items from China.  There are some small figurines carved from real ivory and there is a hand-carved double-vase thingy.  I'm not sure what it is called but the only time I've ever seen anything like it was at the old Graves' Museum.  It was on loan from a private collector.  It would be cool if it was some sort of funerary item then we'd have a really good spooky story here!  :D

We have all been possessed by the restless spirits that used to reside in the cursed funerary object. That is why my parents are harsh and believe in parental deity and why I'm so good at cooking Chinese food, why I like Chinese martial arts, Sun Tsu, jade, dragons, and those beautiful silk Chinese dresses!  ;P

Are you having a party or little get-together for him? Any family to avoid?

I spend my time either outside "shopping" or upstairs.

Hey, don't you have some place to go that has A/C?

Nope no A/C places to go. We just try to tolerate the heat and sweat it out.

We have all been possessed by the restless spirits

Hmm, I wonder what the antidote is to that? Maybe you need more (or better?) feng-shui in your life? ;)

It does sound like a good idea for a short story.

I approve of that strategy. ;)

:O

I thought you folks over there were supposed to more civilized and advanced than us 'Mercans. WTF? ;P ::makes mental note never to visit EU during the summer:: That's just not right. :/

Antidote for the old woman is a stake through the heart. Antidote for me is some TLC and a shag by a nice man. ;P ;D

Thanks!

In other news, the old woman wanted me to make a banana bread yesterday. I found a recipe in a cookbook and she found one. I insisted on making the one that I found much to her chagrin. Anyhoo, she gets that pinched-face look while I'm prepping because I use the French method(forgot the exact term)where you put all your ingredients in separate containers so they are ready to go as needed. SO! I make things very quickly with this method. The bread came out so good that we ate half of it a few minutes after it came out of the oven. :) It was very delicious! Later on, the old woman conceded that it would have taken her all day to make the bread. ;P

That's just not right. :/

We're just a bunch of stingy Dutchmen who don't want to spend money on something we may never use. The weather is just too unpredictable.

the old woman conceded

:O WTH? I'm honestly surprised by that.

;P ;P ;P

What is the night time temperature? It has to be more tolerable than here, right? If I lived there, I'd at least have one of those Mitsubishi A/C units for the bedroom. I can't sleep if it's hot.

I'm honestly surprised by that.

It surprised me, too.

Between 28 and 20 degrees Celsius, I think.

I have to babysit tonight so if I seem unresponsive then that's the cause of it. :)

Have a nice weekend.

I'm still waiting to see that story. I've been watching UFC since 5pm--watching the main event ATM. Local news should be on after. The lazy bastards at the local TV stations don't show news on the weekends until way late--like 10pm.

My mother mentioned something about it earlier--she watches cable news all day long--I guess it was a big enough story to make it to national(and international) news. :(

I told ya this place was turning into a shit hole. The govt could do something if they wanted but I think they deliberately don't do anything.

Anyhoo...I haven't done too much this weekend. I weed whacked the back yard yesterday and then trimmed a hedge in the back before the rains came. It rained all night last night and most of the day today.

I watched Lion Fights(American Muay Thai kickboxing promotion) Friday night and now UFC today. I'll probably do a post on it. Lion Fights is pretty entertaining and the UFC prelims are usually okay. The main events when televised on free TV usually suck, and this one sucks!

I also did a good deal of weight lifting and working out today. Gotta work off all the pasta I ate yesterday. ;P

So how's your weekend so far? Kidlet wrangling was for one night only?

Yep. Plus only 2 kids to wrangle as the other one was having a sleepover at a friend.

So how's your weekend so far?

Well, hot, humid and we got a bunch of nice thunderstorms bringin' on the rain. I think I'm getting used to it.

Ah, good old divide and conquer politics? Can't see a lot of money in that though.

Watching the fights is good for motivation, isn't it? :)

I've got myself the second season of Game Of Thrones so I'll be watching that this weekend. And maybe play a little Dungeon Siege. And drink lots of water. :)

BTW I think I found that book but now I'm not sure it's what I had in mind. I'll just have to read it.

Just like here. :/

The one party likes to pander to the "import" making sure that they will be an automatic vote. It's all about power and votes.

Absolutely! :)

second season of Game Of Thrones

Second season was pretty good. :)

BTW I think I found that book

Let me know what it was about. I'm interested.
