A quick drawing

I can't believe I was left alone for long enough to actually complete this.  :)

That's an excellent drawing. There's so much talent hidden inside you. If only you had the freedom to let it all out. :)

So, a new gig on Friday? Business seems to be getting better for you.

Thanks! I tried doing the Emma one first. I need time to do actual portrait-quality, though. My mind has to be free of distraction. For some reason, I started this one and everything just flowed. I've noticed that my drawing style has changed a little bit FWIW. ::shrugs::

If only you had the freedom to let it all out. :)

Yeah, that would be nice. I could count on one hand the drawings I've done since I've been out of school. :/

Business seems to be getting better for you.

Let's hope it's a trend. :)

How did sitting duties go, BTW? (aside from being eaten by mosquitoes?)

It's obviously not gotten worse.

You know, it kinda reminds me my Batman drawing. ;P

Oh, fine. Nothing special. Except mosquitoes.

In other news, there was a noon "show" that I missed today. Apparently, some dude tried to break into the nabe's house across the street. S was at work so the car wasn't there, but his sis and g'ma were home. The dude knocked on the door and when they didn't answer, he went around to the back and tried to jimmy the lock to get in. S's sis called the cops when she saw him going around back. Amazingly, the cops caught him 2 blocks away after chasing him on foot. Too bad they didn't give him the taser. ;P

I'm wondering if it was the same guy I saw casing the houses on that side of the street a few weeks ago?

Anyway, the other nabe told S's sis that someone had stolen a spare tire from their back yard. I told S's sis that if someone tries any shit here when I'm home that they will get a surprise. :)

Maybe a little Pb without the J IYKWIMAITYD. ;P

Anyhoo, some dude from the gas company is supposed to come out today between 3 and 5 because whoever was supposed to take the meter reading was a lazy bastard and estimated the bill and said that they had no access to the meter because the yard is gated and that there were dogs. Wrong on both counts. The area where the meter is is accessible from the south side of the property. Anyone(who is not lazy)can walk straight back there from the sidewalk.

In the mean time, I colored my hair. Best to not let it go too long between touch-ups or it's more of a pain in the ass to do.

So not just lazy but also a liar or an idiot.

I colored my hair.

Ah, neat. Pink or blue? ;P

Not that I mind the black (as if me minding that matters...) but maybe you could consider another color? Just to change things up a little when you look in the mirror. :)

Have you seen yourself recently without dyed hair BTW?

it's more of a pain in the ass to do.

I guess you use one of those brushes to apply the paint? That does sound like a pain.

Frankly, I'd rather go grey than dye my hair. But I don't expect that to happen until I'm about 60.

It's not quite black. It's a very dark brown like wenge wood. ;P

Have you seen yourself recently without dyed hair BTW?

If I let it grow out too much I start to look like a chinchilla. Not a good look for someone who isn't even 40 yet. :/

I guess you use one of those brushes to apply the paint?

Nah, ya have to take one little bottle of stuff and add it to the applicator bottle that has some other stuff in it then shake it up until it's well blended. There's a nozzle on the thing that you have to squeeze the stuff out starting at the roots of the hair and then rub it in with your fingers(they give you some plastic gloves in the kit). My hair is fairly long so one kit isn't really enough, but I concentrate on getting close to the roots first. The ends are still dark so no one will notice if I didn't get all of it. ;P

I'd rather go grey than dye my hair

But you are a dude. That is fine for dudes. Wimminzez not so much...unless I want to attract lesbians. They kinda like that look(my ex boss' girlfriend told me that so FACT ;P)

Speaking of lesbians...QoH had a bug up her ass to go to Outdoor World to buy some pepper spray(I guess she intends to use it on me)under the guise of self protection. 2 pocket size units were purchased along with a water filtration straw(because we have to be prepared for the imminent apocalypse). At the checkout I told the girl that I didn't have my rewards card on me so she looked up my info on the computer. For some reason, it wouldn't go through so she told me to take the receipt to the customer service desk and they could add my points to my account. So I go over there and just my luck, the chick who helped me was obviously gay. I was waiting for QoH to say something but she didn't(thank God for small miracles). Maybe she's saving it for later so she can accuse me of talking to lesbians. ::rolls eyes:: Like I can choose who they have working there. Anyway, the chick told me that the computers were down for the whole store so I'd have to call the 1-800 number and they would have to do it. When I got home and did, guess who helped me? Yup, some dude who was obviously gay. It was like I was talking to Perez Hilton. LOL Of course QoH had to come hover over me while I was trying to take care of that. I swear, she can't even leave me alone to take care of something so trivial as rewards points. While I was trying to talk to the guy she's adding her 2 cents worth in my ear as if I'm too stupid to know what to say. That annoys me soooooo much! Grrrr....

Anyway, what have you been up to?

Maybe she just didn't want you to take your eye off the money?

QoH had to come hover over me

She gets real OCD when it comes to money. ;P

what have you been up to?

Some babysitting. My brother in law had to go to his youngest son's school for evaluation. Apparently he wasn't correctly informed about which teacher to talk to. And for some reason that particular son does not know the name of this teacher either. I don't think he cares. Like it isn't relevant to him. It's a little strange.

Also, some watching Naruto on Youtube. He's fighting Madara and Obito who made himself into the ten tails jinchuriki...

Tomorrow (Friday) is the new gig, right? Anything interesting?

It's not even real money per se. You earn points for every dollar spent and then the points translate to a discount on future purchases. You have to spend hundreds of dollars just to get a couple dollars off. I hardly ever shop there, just once in a blue moon. *If* I do actually buy something, it doesn't amount to a hill of beans. Also IIRC, the points expire at the end of the year. Even if they let them accrue, it would still take me forever to earn enough for a discount. :/

She gets real OCD when it comes to money. ;P

She's OCD and a control freak in general. And she wonders why I used to have a complex about talking on the phone. I *still* try not to do it in her presence.

that particular son does not know the name of this teacher either

That's crazy. It's almost like a NPD trait. :/

Tomorrow (Friday) is the new gig, right?

Yup. It should be fairly straight forward. Just a dinner. The chef from the store is going to be there so it makes my job much easier. He can futz with heating and plating everything, less I have to do.

Anyway, QoH has been stressing and making everything more complicated than it needs to be for the whole week. It's a real relief to know the chef is going to be there. I'll be glad to get it over with. Work and life in general would be so much easier without QoH complicating things.

Hey, guess what? I was looking at some things OUAT related and I noticed that the fan art in general isn't that great. There are a few exceptions. Since I'm lazy with actual drawings, I figured I need Photoshop since I'm waaaay more creative than most peeps and can make better 'shopped pics. ;P

Well, Photoshop is super expensive so I looked into alternatives. Looks like there's something called Gimpshop that is allegedly free. I'm gonna do a little more research and hopefully if my computer has enough memory left maybe I can download Gimpshop and start cranking out some awesome artwork. :)

Yeah, same here. It seems very odd to me. Has your nephew been evaluated for any issues?

Thanks for the tip on GIMP. I don't have time to check it out now as I have to get ready for work. Maybe tomorrow I'll look at it. :)

Good luck on the gig. :)

Thanks! I'll need it while dealing with QoH. ;P

ADHD, which he got Ritalin for that worked well but gave him urinary problems, as in not feeling when to pee.

He'll be staying over tonight BTW. Mom has to work, oldest nephew probably has a babysitting task of his own, don't know about middle nephew and dad will be going out.

So, how did the gig go? Plus, got any weekend plans?

So, how did the gig go?

It went very well. The peeps were nice, the house was insanely huge. IDK what the guy does for a living but he obviously has megabucks.

QoH was being her usual self at the beginning, but I have a very calm/confident energy to even things out. The party planner mentioned it to me and I told her not to take it personally. I hate having to smooth things out.

The chef only stayed long enough to plate up the appetizer, soup, and salad courses and have the entree food in the oven. After he left I got the honor /sarc of plating up the entree while QoH basically contributed little. The peeps had a maid there who did the actual serving of it. She was really nice. She was Brazilian but must've been from Southern Brazil as she looked very European.

There was another lady there who was the nurse to the homeowner's mother. She was Eastern European of some variety, Polish maybe, but I didn't get a chance to ask. She made had made pirogies and the matzoh ball soup and also a bunch of garnishes/fruit display. She was nice also. (and the food she made was really yummy :) )

Anyway, those peeps have the big party for the daughter at some country club tonight--300 guests for that one. It must be costing a fortune. Must be nice to have money like that.

got any weekend plans?

I'm going to take today to rest. I'm still not used to working like I used to. Did a lot of walking around last night. Maybe tomorrow I can get around to mowing the weeds if it's not raining.

Oh! Nearly forgot...yesterday there was a flock of noisy squawking parrots in the mango tree outside my bedroom window. Little bastards came to munch on the mangoes. They were back again today, but I think the crows chased them away. :)

Yep. They have a chef, a maid and a nurse? No, butler? Disappointed!! ;P

there was a flock of noisy squawking parrots in the mango tree outside my bedroom window.

Are those common, the parrots? We only have crows, ravens, sparrows, tits, starlings, blackbirds, pigeons and... that's it, I think. There are other species but those live in the woods mainly.

Actually, I guess I forgot a bunch of others. Seagulls for instance that live along the channel. And some other water birds. Still, not a lot of colorful birds.

How are you feeling BTW? Rested? Or sore? or just tired?

Nah, the chef came from the place they ordered the food from.

Are those common, the parrots?

They are common but not a native species. There are a couple theories about how they got introduced down here. One is during Hurricane Andrew, the aviary at Metro Zoo got destroyed and the birds escaped from there. Another theory is that peeps let them loose into the wild because they no longer wanted to care for them. Either way, they are very noisy and destructive. They tend to build these massive nests on power lines that can interrupt service and they can really destroy various crops of fruit.

tits

Huh, huh...you said 'tits'. ;P

How are you feeling BTW?

I'm still a little tired. Mostly from dealing with QoH. I should probably go mow the lawn in a bit.

Is that how progress is generally made in Florida? ;P

But seriously, what effect do you think Hurricanes have had on Florida's society/culture?

Huh, huh...you said 'tits'. ;P

Hi Beavis! ;P Strangely, we do have tits but we don't boobies in this country. :(

Hey, what do breasts feel like? You know, if you squeeze them? :)

Not very high. It's just uneven looking and there are a couple different weeds that send up tall seed bracts. There are some peeps across the street who let their weeds grow until it looks like they're growing wheat, so mine isn't that bad in comparison. Plus it's easier to mow when it's not too high.

What style was it built in?

It's hard to say. Maybe slightly Mediterranean. It had a turret in the front which when you got inside you could see that they had a big curving staircase. It looked to be a new construction and the interior didn't look like it had been decorated yet. All the walls were still white and they didn't have any pictures of paintings or draperies or anything. Of course, maybe they just liked white interiors as the kitchen was all white cabinets and white counter tops. I didn't care for the look. IMO it needed some black, too. ;P Lots of very high ceilings. That's just a waste of space IMO and costs a lot to cool and heat. I'm sure with their money that is the least of their worries, though.

Is that how progress is generally made in Florida?

They sometimes facilitate having the govt make improvements to the infrastructure. :)

what effect do you think Hurricanes have had on Florida's society/culture?

They are a massive inconvenience and can be very destructive and monetarily costly, not just in physical destruction but also in loss of work. On the other hand, we have very stringent building standards in S FL so the buildings are fairly sturdy.

Hi Beavis!

That's what my sister and I used to call each other.

what do breasts feel like?

Well, if ya have some fat on your body feel that. It's a similar feeling, it's just that boobs are boob shaped. ;P

Or red. Some big bloodred smears. Just to keep things interesting. :)

I suppose that's comparable to the way it is in Japan, where they frequently have earthquakes. Are there any super-resistant-to-hurricanes houses in FLorida?

That's what my sister and I used to call each other.

I think I remember you mentioning that.

It's a similar feeling,

That's kinda disappointing. I was hoping for a bags of rice type of feeling. ;P

Hey, I made some pancakes today. Yep. Broccoli pancakes. It was not a success. But they were eatable. We kinda had to. It was either that or bread. :)

Broccoli pancakes. It was not a success.

You should have made broccoli souffle. That was one of the sides at the party. Quite yummy. :)

Was the broccoli something that y'all grew?

Speaking of pancakes, I should probably make some now that we bought a bunch of blueberry pie filling from Walmart. They were on sale for fiddy cents per can! Usually they cost at least $3 per. Or maybe some blintzes, although I don't have any ricotta cheese ATM. Maybe a nice pie. I could go for a pie. :)

I had to look that up. I've heard UK folks call 'em that before. Over here they are zucchinis. I like them steamed and drenched in butter, but they're good in veg soup, too. Do you make your soup with a tomato base?

Well, it's been an uneventful day so far. Literally. Oh wait, my parent bought themselves a smart phone. The old cell phone was over 10 years old so I guess it's about frickin' time. Now it's up to me to educate my dad on how to use it. :)

QoH is much too paranoid to buy one. As it is, the old one she has she *still* doesn't know how to use other than dial a number and press send. Old peeps. ::rolls eyes::

Did you make the blueberry pie?

Not yet. Still trying to finish up all the food brought home from the last gig to make room in the fridge. Plus, I'd need QoH to dislodge herself long enough from the kitchen for me to be able to work in peace. :/

Same with QoH. She's paranoid of everyone stealing her personal information and the NSA listing to her and tracking her movements(like they'd really be interested in her--NPD overblown sense of self importance there, methinks).

Really? It's a lot then, hm? Taste good?

Yup. Lot's of roasted chicken and a couple pounds of brisket and some gefilte fish and a bit of broccoli souffle and some green beans almondine. All very delicious. There were 2 mini chocolate cakes(single serving size) that were okay for non-dairy. Now I'm to the stage of making the leftovers into other dishes like beef and noodles and chicken caesar salad.

It's weird this late in the year. Nice but weird. :)

It's still hot and humid over here. I'm reeeeally ready for a change.

Hey Arekino, I have a question for you...if it wasn't for the fact that you're diabetic, would you ever consider getting a tattoo?
