Fruity!

Wow! I can't believe it's been 10 days since my pathetic last post! Oh, well. I'm actually posting this from my deathbed. Ok, not really, I just feel like death, not my perky little Death Dealing self. I have the great grand daddy of all head colds. Cough, cough, hack, hack, drip, snort, repeat.

Anyhoo, in my absence I've been learning to speak Japanese. It's not really that difficult to learn...well, the speaking part of it, that is. The writing system is a pisser, though. Kanji, Katakana, and Hiragana. Three different deals comin' at'cha all at the same time. Xul likes a challenge. More about all that later.

Now then, much overdue... GARDEN BLOGGING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here are some of my highly coveted Kent mangoes growing in lovely clusters like so many lovely clusters of grapes...that is, if you happen to have mammoth 5 pound grapes on your lovely clusters. These have a sort of citrus-y flavor, yellow flesh and not too sweet.

These are the Keitt variety of mango. They don't grow as gargantuan as the Kent but this season they were bigger than usual. These are intensely sweet and have an orange coloured flesh. Very juicy and delicious.

Here is a close up of one of the Keitts. This was one of the bigger ones; probably a 3 pounder.

These are some of my "pinas especiales." For some reason the soil (or lack thereof, sand really)here makes the pineapples have a bit of a coconut flavour. It's a delicious natural pina colada. These were soooo juicy. The best ever.

In my next post I'll have ORCHIDS!!!

Toodles!

Eh? I'm confused about these pictures. For some reason I thought you grew up in Texas but were now living in Canada. But I don't think you get mangoes in Canuck-Land. Are you in Florida?!

Did you ever live in Texas and Canada, or am I just completely delusional?

Hey Slutty! LOL! I am indeed in Florida! Good ol' Land of Hurricanes and Sunshine. I don't have the faintest idea where you got the Texas/Canada thing. I'm 100% Floridian, born and raised.
