And does my loyal and totes adorbs Arekino have any plans for tonight? A wee sip of bubbly perhaps?

Do you have any traditional silliness like here? In Downtown Miami, the King Orange shall slowly creep up the side of the Hotel Intercontinental at midnight, and in Key West they shall to the traditional dropping of the drag queen.

And I shit you not, on the local news at noon they had a "stray bullet warning" complete with its own special graphic while they admonished the local morons not to shoot their guns into the air as celebration. :/

Anyhoo, may your new year be filled with health and prosperity! ::hand flourish:: ;P

Not in my city. Maybe somewhere else but I don't know about that.

they had a "stray bullet warning"

This is the kind of stuff that may make people over here say "Only in America...". :P

Have you had some nice fireworks to admire? Do people in the USA get the first of January off? They do over here mostly, except for some police and medical people.

Or Africa, C America, or places in the Middle East. Here it's mostly the low IQ/low class/ghetto element that does stupid crap like that.

Have you had some nice fireworks to admire?

I just watched the little bit that was shown on the TV. I could hear peeps around here firing some off, but I didn't go out to look.

Do people in the USA get the first of January off?

Some do, some don't. Federal and government employees do, the rest depends on the employer.

Because QoH is paranoid about many things, when the guy called today to say he had her check, she didn't want to call to give him her address so he could mail it(because 1)she doesn't want him to know it, and 2)the post office is unreliable and it might not make it here. She also didn't feel like getting dressed to go get it. I would have rather had him mail it, but she was being a pain in the ass so I "volunteered" to go get it. I told her my car need the exercise since it hasn't been driven in a while and also because it was the perfect opportunity to stop by my friend's mom's house on the way back and pick up the pics she had for me. ;D

Anyway, the pics were from when I was maybe 18 or 19 years old when we used to work at the county club. I look pretty much the same except my hair and eyebrows look better now and I also have a better sense of fashion. I wish someone had told me that brown hounds-tooth pants and a Guinness t-shirt don't look good together. :/

Is she worried he might go postal on her ass? ;P

Clever girl. :)

Any chance I get to see some of those pics? I'd appreciate it. :)

The visit to the shrink went okay BTW. She wants me to look over a couple of possible treatments and see what I think of them and she'll look into possible meds for me.

Is she worried...

I think she's embarrassed for anyone to know we live in a ghetto.

Clever girl. :)

It was also an opportunity to get away from her for 2 hours. I can hardly believe she let me do it with a minimal of fuss. The funny thing was, she admonished me not to stop at D's(friend's mom's)while I'm out because her neighborhood is "very dangerous". LOL No more so than ours.

Anyway, while I was fueling up the car, she calls me on my cell to "find out what is taking you so long". I was maybe 20 minutes later than if I had made no stops.(I had taken a different route to go pick up the check--I got off at the turnpike exit a few miles south of the place because the next exit is a few miles north and I think it's stupid to go out of my way and then back-track like QoH does. When I got up to the shopping center where the store was, I came in from a different entrance and when I drove to where I thought the place was it wasn't there, only a boarded-up store front. I was a bit confused and by then I needed to use a restroom. Luckily for me there was a McDonald's across the parking lot so I went over there to use their facilities. And I might add, that was one of the most swanky McD's I've ever been in--they had freakin' granite counter tops in the loo! ;P

As I was exiting, a man dressed like a manager was exiting behind me so I held the door for him so it wouldn't slam in his face. As he caught the door, he thanked me and I took the opportunity to ask him if he knew where the store I was looking for was. He told me it was in the other set of buildings. Anyway, that was part of the reason I was a bit longer than normal. Just the stop at D's was less than 10 minutes. :)

Any chance I get to see some of those pics?

I figured you'd like to see them. :) Sure, there are a couple of just me in there. The others are of some peeps we used to work with.

The visit to the shrink

I was wondering about that. Glad it went well. :)

I'll see if I can get some of those pics scanned tonight after QoH goes to bed.

Yay, Xul pics! :)

It seems like every one of those show a different side of you. :)

Hey, Xul, WRT the shrinkage, what's your opinion on EMRD and mindfulness?

I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your day out. Maybe you can pull a Ferris Bueller someday. ;P

What do ya mean? Like chillin' Xul, mischievous Xul, and I'm tired and tryin' to eat leave me the eff alone Xul? ;P

what's your opinion on EMRD and mindfulness?

From what I've read on the PD forum, many of the peeps have had positive results with the EMDR. That's something to do with eye movement, yes? Mindfulness is something I try to apply when dealing with QoH, although I think my definition is different. I try to maintain self control and just be aware that QoH is a nasty piece of work and to not fall for her crap when she tries to bait me.

I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your day out.

Well, it wasn't much of a day out being only 2.5 hours, but it was better than the alternative. ;P

Exactly. :)

That's something to do with eye movement, yes?

From what I can gather it's a kind of exposure therapy that adds lef-right-left eye-movements to stimulate "replacing" bad thoughts with good ones. It seems most people agree that the exposure therapy part is effective but there are studies that say the eye-movement things doesn't make much of a difference.

but it was better than the alternative.

I bet it was. :)

So has OUAT now finished for this season? I'm not hearing much of it from you lately. Have you gone off it?

So do you think you'll give the EMDR thing a try? Or just the exposure therapy? Or something else?

So has OUAT now finished for this season?

It is on hiatus until March.

Have you gone off it?

A little. I guess it's a thing with Kitsis & Horowitz. Peeps who watched Lost say the same thing happened with that series--started out good and then jumped the shark. :/

As it is now, they brought in the whole Frozen thing to capitalize on its popularity, but IMO it didn't have anything to do with anything. And I really hate with fire the male love interests in this series. All the dudes are varying degrees of douches and conversely it makes the women look like pathetic morons for choosing losers like that. >:(

Anyway, what are you up to? :)

Or something else?

Medication seems like the easy way out. Sometimes I get the impression it's a hardware problem rather than a software problem. EMDR and such wouldn't do me much good if that's the case. I don't think I have any specific trauma and going over all the little "traumas" would take a long time without the assurance that it will take away the root cause. I doubt SS guy would be happy with that. I'll have to talk it over with Ms. Shrink.

started out good and then jumped the shark.

Seems to me they either wanted a larger or a different kind of audience. The original concept was perhaps a bit too adult for Disney? And not commercial enough?

All the dudes are varying degrees of douches

That doesn't sounds very Disney.

what are you up to?

I'm thinking of doing some handicraft and make myself a Jacob's ladder.

And you? :)

Meds seem the logical route to me. I know liquid medication IYKWIM helped me with the ruminating until I was past it. Short circuiting some troublesome neuropathways til you can make some new ones seems the quickest way.

The original concept was perhaps a bit too adult for Disney?

IDK, Disney doesn't seem to have a problem with adult themes, but they killed the adult audience the past 2 seasons with the illogical story lines. They had a chance with a unique show that peeps liked and then they ruined it.

and make myself a Jacob's ladder.

Link didn't work unless you were actually trying to link back to this comment thread. ;P

So, do you mean to make a stepper climber for exercising? Or do you intend to go all mad scientist with the electrical one? Or perhaps you intend to open a window to the supernatural world to view angelic beings going to and from the heavens? ;P

And you? :)

I have had 2 sexy dreams involving you in the last week. I made a yummy quinoa dish last night, and today I am going to make a meatloaf. :)

It's a kind of magical toy. :)

I have had 2 sexy dreams involving you in the last week.

Hm, I don't remember visiting you in your dreams. Was I any fun? ;P

I am going to make a meatloaf.

So what goes into one of those before it goes into you? :)

I know, but pills can have the same sorts of results without effing with your liver and pancreas, so I'm for the pills if it helps you.

Ah, *that* kind of Jacob's Ladder. So, no mad scientist mimicry then? ;P

Was I any fun? ;P

The first time ya got sassy and interrupted what I was doing so I told you to DIY. The second time you seemed to have learned your lesson and a good time was had for the both of us. ;P ;P ;P

So what goes into one of those before it goes into you? :)

Hmm, lets see...around 2 - 2.5 pounds of ground beef, 5 potato rolls soaked in 1 cup of milk and then broken apart into little pieces, Worcestershire sauce, rosemary, salt and pepper, celery and carrot run through the food processor, onion, mix it all up in a bowl and then turn it out on to a pan and shape it into a loaf and then top it with a mixture of ketchup, Dijon mustard, and brown sugar. Bake in the oven at 425F for 40 minutes. It is super delicious. :) Got the recipe from a cooking show called Farm House Rules with Nancy Fuller. The lady is from Hudson Valley, NY and she has a lot of good recipes.

Well, I've go the "mad" down. The "scientist"... not so much yet.

The mechanism of the ladder just seems interesting.

Is there anything in particular that you do to get dreams like that? Because this seems like a really fun skill to have. :)

Was I nude BTW? ;P

potato rolls

Never heard of those. What do they taste like? The meatloaf recipe sounds pretty good though.

I remember getting something similar to it when I was a kid as a gift. It was made by Rubik's cube maker. I ended up breaking it only hours after receiving it. I think it was the only toy I ever broke. :/

Is there anything in particular that you do to get dreams like that?

That's the funny thing...it just seemed to come...ahem!...out of nowhere. I hadn't been reading or watching anything to trigger something like that and I hadn't been thinking about such things. The second time I was like 'WTH is this coming from?'

Because this seems like a really fun skill to have. :)

They are certainly fun to have. :)

Was I nude BTW? ;P

By the end of the second dream ya were. ;P

I was thinking that if I should ever get the opportunity to do all that IRL that it should only be for special occasions otherwise someone might get spoiled. ;D

What do they taste like?

Very yummy. They have a very soft and chewy texture. I think they are made the same as regular dinner rolls with the addition of instant potato flakes. Like potato chips, you can't eat just one.

Exactly what I'm thinking. It's a very strange idea to me that someone could have such dreams with me in it.

Why? You're a nice guy with a good personality. Why wouldn't someone want you like that?

I doubt my dream body and my real body are much alike. :)

I wasn't the one feeling spoiled. ;P

And FWIW, what you looked like wasn't even the main focus. It was more about what I was doing to you. Seems Dream Xul likes a little light bondage and likes to tease the hell out of her victim. ;D

I'm not sure which measurements you want. Me? I'm 5'2" 117#s of fairly fit goodness. ;P

Personality is all that really counts then for you?

It was more about what I was doing to you.

I see. So the dream was more about you being in control... or at least being some kind of pleasure expert.

Seems Dream Xul likes a little light bondage and likes to tease the hell out of her victim.

I've never understood the attraction of that. It sounds very frustrating. Sort of like real life for me.

It's very important. TBH the first time you described what you looked like to me I thought I was being punked. I had to think hard if I had written about the look that I like on my blog or elsewhere. And FWIW, there have been peeps who would be considered very physically attractive that I hated with fire because they were such douchebags. Looks isn't everything for me. It's important to a point, but I'd rather be with someone who has a good personality and is a decent person.

So the dream was more about...

Moreso the latter. ;P

It sounds very frustrating.

I only had ya tied with a silk scarf for like 2 minutes, then let ya go so we could both seal the deal. ;P ;P ;P Not so much frustrating as delayed gratification. ;D

I had another weird dream last night. My friend Alex from 8th grade was in it. She wanted me to go with her to some place and I was dressed but only wearing my black ankle socks and not shoes. We had crossed a 4 lane street and then went several blocks and she said something about me not having shoes. Then we stopped at what looked like duplex style apartments and she told me to wait outside and she went in to one. Eventually she came back out with some woman who gave me some ugly colorful socks to put on over my black ones instead of shoes. I woke up after that and was like WTF? O_o

I had another weird dream last night.

Okay, so you missed your shoes, which are usually needed for efficient and safe walking. Your socks are black, which can be negative or positive, indicating an ending of sort. Your childhood friend leads you to a woman who lives in a duplex home - suggesting a choice of some kind - who gives you a new pair of colourful socks to cover the black ones.

What makes you say the new socks are ugly?

You're welcome. You're just what I like. :)

What makes you say the new socks are ugly?

I did leave out a few details. There were also some children playing outside. I think we might have spoken but I don't remember what was said. I do recall seeing some flip-flops on the ground and contemplating taking them, but I think they were too big.

The new socks that the lady brought for me were too big also, and they were like fluorescent colored and striped IIRC and ugly. I think the lady said something about 'she fixes old socks'. There was nothing wrong with the socks I was wearing. They are relatively new, I just needed shoes as to not ruin them.

It was all very weird. Started out in a classroom of sorts, not one I had actually been in. My chair was like lower than the others, but this girl Michelle got in in and said it was comfy, so I decided to just go with it. I had a pillow from somewhere and fell asleep. Then the teacher came in and said something. That's when Alex wanted me to go with her. I had the feeling like a lot of people were going(to a park) and she wanted me to go with her. I remember the feeling of walking in my socks--of the different textures of the street, sidewalk, grass, etc. It was all very vivid.

I am what I am--a large part, anyway-- because of Alex.

Btw, free HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, etc this weekend, so getting to watch some movies for free. Nothing to write home about. Gravity was ridiculous and overrated. I don't know why the critics liked it so much. The only good ones have been the Hobbitsezzz ones(which I've already seen), but it doesn't hurt to see them again. :)

I heard that the last of the 3 Hobbitsezzz movies could be seen in 3D in your part of Middle Earth. Have you seen it yet?

Well, that sounds like there's an interesting story behind that. I've heard about a few of your childhood friends, I think. I don't remember if you mentioned Alex.

Have you seen it yet?

I've seen the first 2 hobbit movies, the library has them. I hope they get the last one as well. They weren't in 3D though.
I've mostly been watching movies on youtube via reddit. There mostly old and not always that good but they get me through the boring parts of the day.

I have this booklet which is a French story about Commissioner Maigret. I've had it for a couple of days now and I'm still on page one. :)

sounds like there's an interesting story behind that.

A very loooong story. Probably several long stories. I was thinking about that one time--the subject of the peeps who were the biggest influences on my life and who kinda made me what I am.

I could probably do a post on that. I *was* going to do a decorating post about my particular sense of style that is a cross between Regina's Office and Game of Thrones. ;P

They weren't in 3D though.

I'm intrigued by the 3D thing, especially if it was on an IMAX, but I was told that it was headache inducing. :/

I'm not really. I am at the other side of an ocean though, only words on a screen, a picture at best. Not an actually tangible person. We can speculate about what may happen in the future but there's no guarantee we'll ever meet in real life. And even then we might not get along.

I enjoy your company; is that so terrible?

No, it's not. :)

I could probably do a post on that.

You could do that. Or write about your sense of style. Whatever you like. :)
