TUF 20: Bitches Get Stitches

Okay then!  It's been a while.  ;P

Anyone who knows me knows that I like MMA.  Recently, the UFC has had two different TUF series featuring ladies' weight classes. The first was for bantam weight(135 pounds) and the current one is for straw weight(115 pounds).  If I was still young enough to fight, my natural weight class would be straw weight, so the current TUF series is of particular interest to me.

For the bantam weight series, they had Miesha Tate and Ronda Rousey as the coaches. Those two women are bitter rivals(and as you know, I can't fucking stand Rousey) and for the whole series Rousey acted like a fucking child and mean-mugged at Tate and Tate tried to brush it off and be somewhat professional.  The ladies who were competing, however, seemed for the most part to get along with each other in the house and were pretty professional about the whole thing.

Now, this season for the straw weights, they have two dudes as coaches: Anthony Pettis(who I really like as a fighter) and Gilbert Melendez(who I don't think I've seen fight since IIRC he fought for Strikeforce which was on Showtime and I don't pay extra for that ;P).  Melendez seems like a nice enough guy and the two coaches have been cordial to each other and very professional. There hasn't been any of the petty rivalry bullshit going on so that is a plus for me.

Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the contestants. There has emerged a gaggle of catty bitches.  Aside from the first episode, the next few were pretty boring. Now that we are to the quarter final stage, things have gotten interesting and the claws have come out. In the first ep IIRC, Randa Markos who is of Chaldean descent, born in Iraq, and whose family fled from Saddam and now lives in Canada, beat pretty decisively the #2 seed, Tecia Torres, who was then eliminated.

In the episode previous to last night's, because one of the Team Pettis girls got injured and could fight, the head honcho Dana White decided to give Tecia Torres another shot. She was originally on Team Melendez, but now she was brought back and moved to Team Pettis.  Well, true to form, some of the catty bitches(Angela Magana, Bec Rawlings, Felice Herrig, and Carla Esparza and a little bit from Rose Namajunes)threw a fucking fit that it wasn't right and blah, blah, blah.  There was so much catty jr. high style mean-girls bullshit and unprofessionalism that is was a turn off.  They even went so far as to call themselves "The Scrapetts" and the other girls in the house "The Chumpettes".  Seriously, that is the kinda shit that I saw in elementary school.  How old are you stupid cunts?  Grow the fuck up already.

But the best thing is when bitches get their comeuppance.  Bec had to fight Tecia Torres(who IIRC trains up at ATT in Coral Springs)and Tecia won. Nyah, nyah!  And then classless as always, the other mean girl chicks booed Tecia after the decision was read!  Well that didn't sit right with Joanne "Jojo" Calderwood(the Scottish Muay Thai champ) and she called those idiots out right on the spot and scolded them for being rude and unprofessional.  I had to laugh, cuz what were they going to do? LOL  I like Jojo, she's cool and not afraid to call out bullshit and I could listen to her talk all day with that Scottish accent.  ;P

And then in last night's fight, Randa Markos(who proved to be a force to be reckoned with) fought loud mouthed obnoxious Felice Herrig who I just wanted to punch in the fucking face, her and her BFF Carla Esparza.  They had their panties in a bunch because they were paranoid of having their opponents for their next fights watch them train since all of Team Melendez' fighters except for Rose were eliminated, so they would be fighting team mates.  Training is supposed to be twice a day, so they had decided that one group would train in the morning and the other in the afternoon.

Randa thought that was a stupid idea since MMA is not a team sport and she wants to win this thing, so it would be in her best interest to train twice a day and not once.  Well, Felice and Carla threw a fucking hissy fit when Randa got in the bus with them to go train.  I swear to god, they acted like such spoiled fucking petty babies that I lost all respect for them and was hoping that Randa would smash Felice's face in.

I kinda got my wish on that.  :)   Randa finished Felice in under 3 minute in the first round by the craziest armbar I've ever seen.  I only wished she had broke it.  The funny thing was, afterward during the interview, Randa said the same thing--she should have broke it but she's too nice. LOL

Then after the fight when Randa was saying something to another team mate, Carla interrupts with some more catty bullshit and Randa told her, "You're next."  LOL  I'd love to see that.

Randa Markos kinda reminds me of Juliana Pena from the 135 pound TUF.  Both seem really driven to win and were both underestimated.  At this point, I'd like to see either Randa or Jojo win the whole thing.  While I had liked Rose because she has some pretty decent skills, she turned out to be a catty bitch, so I hope she gets her ass beat.  ;)

*****UPDATED*****

That armbar was so slick and so simple that I just couldn't stop thinking about it.  I did a little digging and found this pic that Randa posted on her instagram.  It's just so slick in its simplicity--she had Herrig in side control and then slipped her arm over one thigh and then pinned it with the other. A little flex of the hips and **SNAP** if the bitch don't tap!  ;P

It kinda reminds me a bit of some of the crazy joint locks that we used to learn in Kung Fu class.  I love the unusual little moves that catch an opponent by surprise.  :)

Arekino, I'm watching some Muay Thai and there's some chick named Chajmaa Bellakhal who is allegedly from your neck of the woods--fighting out of Hemmers Gym in Breda. Not sure of her ethnicity--Turk maybe--but she's a nasty one. :O Hmm, intertubes says she is Moroccan. She's doing a lot of screeching like Maria Sharapova.

The American girl just kicked her in the head. Maybe if she does it again it'll shut her up. ;P

The Moroccan won. Decent fight even though the other chick was only fighting on 10 days notice.

Was this always a reality show or did they turn it into one? "Easy on the eyes, hard on the face" ?

It's a good write up, although a little heavy on the swearing, and it's fun to see your enthusiasm for the sport shine through the commentary. Do you visit any MMA/TUF forums? Maybe you could post a review there now and again. See what kind of reactions you get. I bet they'd be good. :)

You know, I'm sure it's part of the MMA world they live in but I still find it disconcerting that someone can so casually claim to want to bash someone's face in. I guess it's mostly for show?

I guess it has always been a reality show type format. I haven't watched all of them from the beginning. I've only really watched all of the 135 pound ladies one and this one. The other men's competitions I just tuned in for the semi-finals and finals as all the training and stupid crap that goes on in the house doesn't interest me. I find myself not paying much attention until the actual fight at the end of the show. I think all the petty frat house nonsense takes away from the sport aspect of it, but I guess that is what the mindless rabble likes. :/

although a little heavy on the swearing

Catty bitches piss me off pretty badly. It's especially bad when you have to work with a bunch of them. At least with an MMA job, getting to punch them out in the ring is a legal option. ;P

Do you visit any MMA/TUF forums?

No. Just Sherdog when I want to check on the results from a PPV card, and the Jo Calderwood blog posts that I recently discovered. Most comments threads seem to be filled with douchebag young guys talking a lot of teenage level nonsense. I wouldn't waste my time with those.

I guess it's mostly for show?

IDK, sometimes peeps can piss you off so bad that you want to punch 'em out. ;P

BTW, I'm not sure if it's true, but I was looking up some stuff last night and someone from a radio show said that Randa Markos won the competition. I know that it is all pre-taped and they show it leading up to the fight between Melendez and Pettis and all the results are supposed to be top secret. I hope it's true. :)

Sure, but I usually don't say that out loud in public. ;P

To fight the boredom I've bought myself some comic-books. More Transmetropolitan and a collection of Hellboy comics, nicely bound in hardcover. That will keep me busy. :)

What are you up to? There's no OUAT tonight. So, more TUF (oh dear, I just realized TUF is probably a pun on "tough" :) ? Or maybe you've got some nice movies to look forward to? Are there any martial arts movies that you like? Got any favorites?

Do you have many of those type in you collection?

So are you feeling all better? I think I forgot to give you **Huuuuugs** last time, so here's some (((((((HUUUUUGS))))))) just for the heck of it. :)

What are you up to?

I am coloring my hair right now so that I will look presentable on Thursday for the giggage. ;P

There's no OUAT tonight. So, more TUF

There is some music awards program on in it's stead which I will not be watching. I'm not sure what I'll be watching.

There was some MMA on last night that wasn't too boring and I have to wait until Wednesday for more TUF.

I like the classic Bruce Lee ones--the stories can be kinda silly but his fight scenes are pretty badass. I also like Hero and Fearless with Jet Li. There are probably more that I can't recall ATM.

I like Bas Rutten's fighting advice/strategies. He's very devious that Dutchman. :)

And did you see the Randa Markos pic that I posted? It was from a training session. Now I can clearly see the way she did that armbar on Herrig. I love that it was something she was practicing and she tweeted something like "she should have been paying attention to practicing instead of playing patty cake with Carla". LOL

The hardcover you mean? About 3 or 4, I think. Not that many. And this is my first Hellboy collection. I don't specifically look for hardcover versions of books but they do look nice. :)

Ah, you have giggage? I was wondering about that. Anything you can say about it?

Just a turkey day dinner for a repeat client. QoH will be there, too.

It's usually pretty easy IMO, but QoH always likes to make things more complicated than they need to be. She's already being a major bitch today over it. Her desk is a fucking disaster area and all hell would break loose if someone were to touch anything on it, but I'm also expected to organize it all for her. Not. Gonna. Happen. That's the biggest setup ever. Then she moans about(with all the drama she can muster)that she's been *begging* me for ***YEARS*** to *help* her organize the desk, but I REFUSE!!!!eleventy!!! Yeah, of course I refuse. She made that fucking mess all on her own and I'm not touching it so she can blame me for throwing something away ***for spite!!!*** or some other ridiculous accusation. Like I would deliberately do something like that *knowing* that I'd get the third degree from her for ever and ever. I try to avoid her bullshit as much as possible, I'm not going to deliberately do something to invoke the bullshit. Jeez Louise.

Anyway, she was being such a bitch that I decided to finish trying to clean the light fixture/glass lampshade thingy in the kitchen. It tends to get a buildup of grease from the stove and it's a pain to clean. I got the bulk of it of the other day, now I'm just trying to break through the last layer of grease. Of course QoH had to start something over that and come micromanage how I was doing it(like I'm too stupid to know how to clean something).

Anyway, I'm mostly done with it but am taking a break 'cuz my hand was starting to get a cramp. I'mm gonna go finish it now and then clean the top of the fridge. :/

I hope you are having more fun than me. ;P

(BTW, Ma Nature is gone and I'm feeling frisky as hell. QoH is such a crotch blocker. >:( )

Well, I've done a bit of drawing and some computer stuff. Apparently I can use my laptop as sort of a remote control to run programs on the downstairs desktop computer just using the home network.

QoH is such a crotch blocker.

You really need to have that taken care of. Maybe an ointment. Just keep rubbing it in. ;P

We don't have one. Besides, the way the thing is made I don't think I can separate the glass shade from the rest of it. The thing is at least 40 years old and something might break if I tried. QoH would have a fit if I tried to take it down.

That's the thing I've never understood about my parents--things that require such small fixes never get taken care of. If they had installed a cheap vent over the stove the problem would have been solved. You don't even need an expensive one that has to be vented through the roof. They sell little self contained units that go under the cabinet. But NO! Priorities! Like buying another pressure cooker when we already have 2! >:(

Seriously, I just don't get it. My mother doesn't seem to know how to fix things and she relied on my dad who is just plain ol' lazy. He let the front toilet in the house remain unusable for YEARS when all that it took to fix it was a $5 part--just replace the water intake mechanism.

I've done a bit of drawing

What did you draw? Comic stuff?

You really need to have that taken care of.

Oh, trust me. It got taken care of. Multiple times IYKWIM. ;P I think I might have broken a record. ;D ;P

Yeah, just a Hellboy portrait and some more general sketches from a tutorial.

Hey, I can now use my Android phone to control my desktop via the network. It's really easy.

It was pretty easy. Only 7 adults and one toddler(which the parents didn't bother watching so I ended up doing a bit of child wrangling to keep her from getting into mischief in the kitchen). :/

Everything went well except for the turkey...the client had it in the fridge before we got there and the internal temperature was 45F so it took for-freakin-ever to get up to 165F. Other than that, everything went smoothly and we got 2 extra hours, so more moolah! :)

I wish I could get a gig like that at least once per week.

So what did you do yesterday to amuse yourself?

let's see. I went to the library, got me some dvds and comicbooks. I did some drawing, just youtube tutorial stuff. I studied some french verbs. That's it.

And have you managed to have some fun yesterday? After work maybe?

Not really. After the gig the lady got all chatty and we ended up sitting with her for 45 minutes. I had a headache from wearing my hair back in a ponytail and just wanted to get outta there. Then QoH took forever to drive home(she drives like and old lady and refuses to take I-95 which was the closest route home).

Anyway, I discovered that we have 7 free Starz channels for the weekend so I've been watching some movies. :)

It'll likely go toward paying bills. :/

That's too bad. Are not saving any of it for yourself? You deserve it, I'd say.

Me either. He's a pervy sex predator and the cat should have kicked him in his balls and called the Gendarmerie. ;P

It's been a while since I worked and I usually just wear my hair au natural every other hour of the day, so I'm not used to it. And with QoH there it just adds to it. :/

Are not saving any of it for yourself?

I can't. I ***really*** need a regular job. :/

>Pray tell which ones. :)

None particularly good. I caught the last 30 minutes or so of Frozen and it wasn't too bad, so I plan on watching it from the beginning when it's on tomorrow. I also watched Monsters U, Blue Jasmine, about half of The Monuments Men(it was really boring and a waste of Bill Murray and John Goodman), some movie called Anna, and Heaven Is For Real. Monsters U reminded me of a Monsters rip-off of the old Nickelodeon series Aaack! Real Monsters.

None particularly good.

At least it's free. :) There are generally some okay movies to find on youtube (if you're looking).

I've been watching a french movie called "Haute Cuisine", "The Great Budapest Hotel" (which also has Bill Murray in it but only for a few moments) and "The Wolf Of Wall Street". It turns out the library also has the 3rd season of Homeland so I'm going to start watching that soon.

Tomorrow I have an appointment with my doctor to discuss my psychotherapy options. And the day after that I have to go to the hospital to have some blood drawn for diabetes tests.

Hm, I don't really know what else to say now.

How's the weather? Got any plans for next week?

Catering is the only thing I know how to do. Otherwise, the only kinds of jobs I could get would be minimum wage retail ones. I normally make 3X - 4X the amount of money those pay doing what I do. I could work all week to make what I make in a few hours. It's very depressing. :/

The Wolf Of Wall Street

I saw that one a couple months ago when I had some other free movie channels. It don't know what all the fuss was about.

I watched all of Frozen this morning. It wasn't too bad. At least I now I can relate to what's going on in OUAT better.

BTW, I think the mid season finale of OUAT is tonight. Another curse to avoid. ::groan:: The second half of the season is supposed to have Maleficent back IIRC. I hope it'll be better than the first half.

Tomorrow I have an appointment with my doctor to discuss my psychotherapy options.

Too bad I can't go with you. QoH told me today that I have psychological problems and that I created them all myself. Nothing to do with her. I guess those things just happen in a vacuum. Then she tells asshole Stasi on the phone that I am evil, mean, nasty, hateful, vindictive, and physically and verbally abusive to her every day. Project much? (I'm sure I forgot some other things she called me) Of course, her calling me names and accusing me of things...Oh! And I can't forget that she said that I'm always wrong about everything!...has absolutely no bearing whatsoever on it, and all those things that she says aren't verbally and psychologically abusive, that's just me internalizing like I do all the time. >:(

Anyway, good luck with the docs. :)

How's the weather?

It was a little bit cooler for Thanksgiving and the day before, but now it's back to warm. :/

Got any plans for next week?

Not really. Although I should start looking for work and maybe see if there is anyone who I can contact to help me with the fucked up situation that I'm stuck in. :/

I'm not aware of any fuss about that movie. But I suspect a portion of the population was upset with all the sex and drugs in the movie. The movie depicts the story in a rather non-judging/a-moral way, like just one event after the other without someone saying if what is happening is right or wrong (I am specifically referring to the way the lead character steals from his clients). In the end all the movie seems to ask is whether it was all worth it or not.

Project much?

Waaaay much. Waaay, waaaaay, waaaaaaaaaaaaay much. Seriously.

good luck with the docs.

I'm not sure it's good luck but I've got an appointment with a psychologist on Jan 2. So that's that. Tomorrow morning I just need to pee in a cup and have some blood sucked. I haven't heard from Social Services Guy yet. My doctor says she wants to coordinate with him BTW.

see if there is anyone who I can contact to help me with the fucked up situation that I'm stuck in.

It can't hurt to discuss this with someone. Maybe your doctor or someone from Social Services? I know I don't exactly speak in a positive way about S.S. but they do have interesting resources. Are there any old contacts you can talk to? Friends, colleagues, countrymen/women?

It's just the way the media/Academy Awards peeps carried on like it was the greatest movie ever made. Then there was the hypocrisy of the actors half-heartedly condemning the actions of the characters in the movie when in real life, Hollywood types celebrate that sort of hedonism.

Maybe your doctor or someone from Social Services?

I don't have a doctor and I'm not wasting my time with SS. What you have over there is at least 10,000X better than the sick joke they have over here. I've dealt with govt dysfunction here before. It really is a big waste of time.

My only real hope is to contact a friend who used to live down here. I think he's still in touch with some peeps here who might be able to help me. It's a really difficult thing for me to do. The whole situation is so embarrassing that I'd almost rather die than to tell anyone, but I'm reaching a point where the situation is so torturous and intolerable that I'm likely going to have to bite the bullet and do it.

I prefer to try to find resources on the internet. The more I can do for myself the better. Relying on anyone but myself for help is usually no help at all. Most peeps couldn't give a shit unless it's benefiting them in some way or you get lip service and some half-assed attempt at "help" which usually doesn't amount to anything.

I'm almost getting to the point of calling an ex-employer. Of course, QoH would have a fit because that person is vilified for being gay(which is one of QoH's unholy trinity of enemies, the other 2 being Muslims and Communists). I didn't want to go back to working there because they screw over the employees who are the best workers and who've been there the longest in favor of the 'flavor of the week' types who they think are the greatest things since sliced bread but really aren't worth a shit. At least with them the pay is okay and I know the venues and how to do the job. And they took over another location that is is bit closer to where I live.

Anyway, QoH is literally driving me insane with all her bullshit. Dealing with her 24/7/365 should be considered torture and a human rights abuse. >:(

I sometimes get the impression that Americans have a somewhat ambivalent attitude towards government. As if they want one but they also don't really want one. They end up not really willing to invest enough in it to make it work properly.

The whole situation is so embarrassing that I'd almost rather die than to tell anyone

You probably don't have to tell him anything you don't feel comfortable with. If there is a need for your services then I'm sure he will be happy suggest a workplace for you. You're basically just scouting for a job like everybody else.

I did actually find a job in 1996 by calling companies and asking if they were interested in my services. Even if they can't use you right away, they may put you on a list or you may be able to send your CV so they'll remember you later on if they do need someone. Getting to talk to people on the phone or in person is generally better than by email in that regard.

But you may know all that already. :)

they screw over the employees

So you won't be considered for the title of Employee Of The Month even though you deserve it? Who cares? You're looking for just a paycheck right now.

Dealing with her 24/7/365 should be considered torture and a human rights abuse.

She's full of shit and she's a big fat liar. What she deserves is... nothing. Nothing at all. She doesn't deserve you, she doesn't deserve your paycheck. She doesn't even deserve to talk to you.

What reeeeeally pisses me off is that I'm in this situation entirely because of QoH. We had 3 steady sources for work and she had to fuck it all up with her insane behavior. No one can stand to put up with her and her shit.(Of course she views it as all of them having the problem, nothing to do with her behavior.) It's all so ridiculous that she has this attitude that "we" work as a package deal so I lose my job because of her shit.

The whole "we" NPD control-freak enmeshment bullshit drives me completely insane. I'm treated like an object and a possession, not a person with feelings or my own desires. If I want something for myself then I'm "selfish" according to her, but everything that she does isn't selfish. ::facepalm::

Ever since I've tried to emotionally and physically break away from her and be an autonomous person the shit has really hit the fan. This she blames on me being a lesbian and under the influence of lesbians and thinking like a lesbian. (I know, crazy!) And that's the latest part of the crazy-making verbal and emotional abuse that I have to put up with from her.

She's full of shit and she's a big fat liar. What she deserves is... nothing. Nothing at all.

Thank you! It feels good to have some validation and you don't even see it in person!

I was doing some research last night and there was a great thread on the PD forum, too, that was validating. I kinda need to get myself into a good place emotionally before actually looking for the work.

Anyway, I'm glad you are gonna get to see a head shrinker. I wish I could do that. :)

I'm more or less being forced into that. I guess I do have a little more financial wiggle room living in this country. I'm not entirely left to my own devices by the government/the community that I live in.
