Bored

Ugh. Life is soooo boring when you don't have anything in particular to do with yourself. So what did I do today? Not much of anything. I picked a few ripe limes off the tree and then cleaned up all the half-eaten mangoes from the ground courtesy of the bloody squirrel. After that, it started pissing down raining for most of the day so I had no choice but to stay in and try to find something interesting on the TV.

Not much luck with that. Over 200 channels and not a damn thing on. I watched the movie Code 46 again. It's a good thing I know a little bit of a few languages because that movies is in English with some Spanish, French, Mandarin, and Arabic thrown in with no subtitles. It seems like that would be kinda annoying if you didn't know what the non English phrases meant. Anyway, that movie is depressing. One of those dystopian futuristic deals. While I was wasting my time watching that, I was missing a concert from one of my favorite bands--The Cult. It turned out to be a fairly old concert, but it seemed like it was new. They sure did give a good live show.

Now I'm watching another movie--Winter in Wartime. I saw it before too. At least it has subtitles. So, anyone out there doing anything interesting?

Winter in Wartime

Oh gaaaaad... One of those WW2 movies the Dutch seem to love so much. I really don't like them.

Did you rediscover Eden over there in Florida? Sure sounds like it. :P

If I may consider myself anyone for sec here then... ehm... no. I am presently not doing anything interesting. I'm still watching some as of yet free movies on youtube and (re)figuring out how to use grep on the linux command line but that's kinda boring really. I did some drawing the other day but that turned out crap. What else... hmm... nope that's it. I'm re-engaging bored mode for now.

I like when some of the movie channels get into foreign film mode. I can't stand the shit that Hollywood pumps out. Just remakes of remakes and other stupid crap. There was a Japanese scary one on the other night but it was getting too late and I only watched the first 20 minutes or so. The name escapes me ATM.

Oh gaaaaad... One of those WW2 movies the Dutch seem to love so much Especially ones showing the Resistance, eh? I wonder what would've happened if your civilians were armed to the teeth like us Americans. Would the Germans have taken over your country so quickly or would they have chosen to bomb the shit out of the rest of the country and not just Rotterdam? Sorry, ran OT a bit.

Did you rediscover Eden over there in Florida? Sure sounds like it. :P Oh, I've got all kinds of fruit in the yard. All the various assholes around here are trying to make it into a hell though. :(

Soooo, when will you be repainting the bathroom? You seem to have a bit of a situation with mold.

I don't know exactly yet. I'll have to wait till the lords of the manor give me the go ahead.

Really? I'd have though them great producers of manure. :P

Ah, I love me some of those. Scary ghost movies are my favorite.

When I went out back today to get a few more limes, the bastard squirrel had knocked down a rather large-ish but not fully grown avocado. Those can get 2-3 kilos. Half of it had been eaten but I was pissed off enough to bring it in and cut off the half that hadn't been eaten for my own consumption. It was not quite ripe but not bad. My mother made some smart-ass remark that *she* wouldn't eat it after a squirrel had eaten part of it. Well, the squirrel didn't touch the other side and that's the side that I'll eat. At least the little bastard doesn't seem to like limes or maybe hasn't discovered them yet.

Oh, BTW, that Japanese horror movie was called Ringu. I hope they show it again soon because it was supposed to be pretty good.

Ringu

Ah, that one (and I believe Ringu 2) can also be found on Youtube. There is an American remake with Naomi Watts. It's interesting how the Japanese version makes use of fewer special effects but still manages to be a bit scarier.

So local squirrels don't carry any dangerous transmittable diseases?

I like when movies can be creepy without all the special effects. American remakes always have to ruin everything with CGI and gore. Usually. Let Me In was one exception. I actually liked that version better than the original.

So local squirrels don't carry any dangerous transmittable diseases? The hand-wringers always say you could get rabies. I've never heard of a rabid squirrel. They're vegetarian and have a pretty varied diet around here. I wouldn't eat after a scavenger animal, though.
