Xul the Hero

Today, while going to Walmart, I saved an adorable baby duck very similar to this one

from being squashed to death by a ginormous semi truck. The poor little thing, it seems, managed to get separated from his mother and the rest of his siblings. It might've also been the last to hatch because there was a whole pile of empty, hatched eggs in the bushes by the road near where the little duckling was waddling out into the street.

I didn't give a crap who liked it or not, I was at the stop sign and the ducking waddled out into the intersection in front of my car and was seconds away from getting squashed so I got out of my car and scooped him up and took him several yards from the street into some grass. Amazingly, no one dared blow their damn horn at me. That's one for the record books around here. If someone did, they were going to get their ass told off...for I am the Great Xul, part-time villain and rescuer of helpless animals!

Is it a bird ? Is it a plane ? ... Wait, yes, it's a bird...

Yet again Superxul - mighty protector of small fowl - saves the day. Ducklings worldwide organised parades today to celebrate their beloved hero. It's a wonderful sight to see the chicks make an extra effort to maintain their signature strict single file formation while cheerfully quacking the national duck anthem "God Save The Quack".

But seriously... job well done, Xul.

job well done, Xul. Thaaangkyou! I just couldn't let an adorable baby duck get smooshed. It was sooo soft and fuzzy and cute!

*typo: hero --> heroine Yah, I know *technically* it's supposed to be fem. n of "hero" but some peeps are the dumb and think of opiates.

Well, it's Saturday so I'm not up to much. I've fallen into a bit of a routine. Reading the news in the morning, going to the library or taking a walk in the afternoon and doing more reading and studying in the evening.
I've been mapping out the local political landscape, making a list of people and a mindmap of their ideological/political relations.
I'm thinking of finding some software to make interactive timelines with to model certain developments.

There's of course also the job hunting but I haven't done much more than look. I really should try to find a job before july, even if it's just a temp job.

Are you doing anything fun this weekend?

Are you doing anything fun this weekend? Probably make another cake for my b-day on Monday. OUAT on Sunday. My dad came by today with a card and a money(shock!). Other than that, nope. Nothing special planned.

Have you seen any job offers that you would be interested in?

Oh, BTW...are you any good at making bread/dough?

Interest seems a luxury I can't really afford in this matter. I can not even find jobs that I am likely to be able to do in a satisfactory manner.

I guess so. It's not that difficult, just hard work. I usually have to eat some cookies afterwards.

The local library has been so kind to include the entire series of Granada Television's The Adventures Of Sherlock Holmes in their collection. I'm enjoying the hell out of watching that. Jeremy Brett is such an excellent Sherlock.

Glad to hear that the library is getting some offerings to your liking. I had some free movie channels this past week and got to see some of the Marvel comic ones.
